Rydberg atom arrays are among the most promising quantum simulating platforms due to their scalability and long coherence time. From the perspective of combinatorial optimization, they are intrinsic solver for the maximum independent set problem because of the resemblance between the Rydberg Hamiltonian and the cost function of the maximum independent set problem. In this paper, we suggest a strategy to approximate maximum independent sets by adjusting local detunings on the Rydberg Hamiltonian according to each vertex's vertex support, which is a quantity that represents connectivity between vertices. By doing so, we explicitly reflect on the Rydberg Hamiltonian the potential probability that each vertex will be included in maximum independent sets. Our strategy reduces an error rate three times for the checkerboard graphs with defects when the adiabaticity is enough. Our strategy also decreases the error rate for random graphs of density 3.0, even when the adiabaticity is relatively insufficient. Moreover, we harness our strategy to raise the fidelity between the evolved quantum state and a 2D cat state on a square lattice, showing that our strategy helps to prepare a quantum many-body ground state.

The estimation of fundamental properties in quantum information theory, including von Neumann entropy, Rényi entropy, Tsallis entropy, quantum relative entropy, trace distance, and fidelity, has received significant attention. While various algorithms exist for individual property estimation, a unified approach is lacking. This paper proposes a unified methodology using Layerwise Quantum Convolutional Neural Networks (LQCNN). Recent studies exploring parameterized quantum circuits for property estimation face challenges such as barren plateaus and complexity issues in large qubit states. In contrast, our work overcomes these challenges, avoiding barren plateaus and providing a practical solution for large qubit states. Our first contribution offers a mathematical proof that the LQCNN structure preserves fundamental properties. Furthermore, our second contribution analyzes the algorithm's complexity, demonstrating its avoidance of barren plateaus through a structured local cost function.

Abstract:
We study the $p$-Rényi entropy power inequality with a weight factor $t$ on two independent continuous random variables $X$ and $Y$. The extension essentially relies on a modulation on the sharp Young's inequality due to Bobkov and Marsiglietti. Our research provides a key result that can be used as a fundamental research finding in quantum Shannon theory, as it offers a Rényi version of the entro…

Light from thermal black body radiators such as stars exhibits photon bunching behaviour at sufficiently short timescales. However, with available detector bandwidths, this bunching signal is difficult to be directly used for intensity interferometry with sufficient statistics in astronomy. Here we present an experimental technique to increase the photon bunching signal in blackbody radiation via spectral filtering of the light source. Our measurements reveal strong temporal photon bunching in light from blackbody radiation, including the Sun. Such filtering techniques may revive the interest in intensity interferometry as a tool in astronomy.
