Comment on WKB series of all orders
Abstract: The Dunham expansion for the one-dimensional two-turning-point eigenvalue problem for all orders in the WKB approximation is examined. An explicit form for all the odd order terms in the expansion which are are total derivatives is given.

Green's functions for reflectionless potentials and addition of boundstates to powerlaw potentials to find Supersymmetric partners
Abstract: Green's functions for reflectionless potentials are constructed and analyzed. Green's functions for power law potentials, their Super Symmetric partners and sum rules for eigenvalues are examined. The SUSY partner potentials to power law potentials which have an additional bound state at $E=0$ are constructed.

Classical and Quantum Correlation Functions for a Ring Model
Abstract: Classical and quantum correlation functions are derived for a system of non-interacting particles moving on a circle. It is shown that the decaying behaviour of the classical expression for the correlation function can be recovered from the strictly periodic quantum mechanical expression by taking the limit that the Planck's constant goes to zero, after an appropriate transformation.

Hierarchy of Sum Rules for Oscillator Strengths
Abstract: It is shown that the well known sum rules for oscillator strengths for Hydrogen atom can be generalised to a whole class of sum rules. The sum rules have contributions from the discrete and the continuum parts of the spectrum neither of which can be calculated in closed analytical form but can be calculated numerically. The numerical calculations are carried out to check the validity of the sum ru… ▽ More

Eigenstates of Linear Combinations of Phase Operators
Abstract: The eigenstates of linear combinations of the Susskind and Glogowerphase operators for the harmonic oscillator are constructed. It is shown that such eigenstates are squeezed states.

Equivalent power law potentials
Abstract: It is shown that the radial Schroedinger equation for a power law potential and a particular angular momentum may be transformed using a change of variable into another Schroedinger equation for a different power law potential and a different angular momentum. It is shown that this leads to a map** of the spectra of the two related power law potentials. It is shown that a similar correspondence… ▽ More

Generalised Virial theorems in Classical and Quantum Physics
Abstract: Generalisations of the virial theorm in Classical Mechanics and Quantum Mechanics are examined. It is shown that the generalised virial theorem in Quantum Mechanics leads to certain relations between matrix elements. The differences between the generalisations in Classical and Quantum Mechanics are identified. Some results arising from the radial Schrödinger equation in Quantum Mechanics are discu… ▽ More

Recurrence relations and path representations of matrix elements of an SU(1,1) algebra
Abstract: It is shown that a SU(1,1) algebra may be used to provide a unified description of the simple hamonic oscillator and the angular momentum algebras and a class of other semi-infinite algebras. A normal ordered representation of a Unitary operator $U$ constructed from the generators of a SU(1,1) algebra, which is a generalisation of the Baker- Campbell - Hausdorff relation for Lie algebras, is given… ▽ More

Squeezed states and Symplectic transformations
Abstract: It is shown that the time evolution of the squeezed and displaced state may be obtained by solving the Heisenberg equation of motion of an appropriate operator and finding the eigenstates of the time evolved operator. The connection between symplectic transformations and squeezing is explored.

Parametric evolution, addition of boundstates and generalised Lax hierarchies
Abstract: The connection of the 'time' evolution of the eigenstates of the reflectionless potentials of the Lax hierarchy to the more general case of the 'time' evolution of the eigenstates of the Schroedinger equation for potentials with non-vanishing reflection coefficients is explored. A new hierarchy of functions satisfying 'time' dependent equations is established.

Sum rules for Confining Potentials
Abstract: Using the Green's function associated with the one-dimensional Schroedinger equation it is possible to establish a hierarchy of sum rules involving the eigenvalues of confining potentials which have only a boundstate spectrum. For some potentials the sum rules could lead to divergences. It is shown that when this happens it is possible to examine the separate sum rules satisfied by the even and od… ▽ More

Phase equivalent potentials, Complex coordinates and Supersymmetric Quantum Mechanics
Abstract: Supersymmetric Quantum Mechanics may be used to construct reflectionless potentials and phase-equivalent potentials. The exactly solvable case of the $λsech^2$ potential is used to show that for certain values of the strength $λ$ the phase-equivalent singular potential arising from the elimination of all the boundstates is identical to the original potential evaluated at a point shifted in the c… ▽ More

Sum rules and the domain after the last node of an eigenstate
Abstract: It is shown that it is possible to establish sum rules that must be satisfied at the nodes and extrema of the eigenstates of confining potentials which are functions of a single variable. At any boundstate energy the Schroedinger equation has two linearly independent solutions one of which is normalisable while the other is not. In the domain after the last node of a boundstate eigenfunction the… ▽ More

Majorana spin-flip transitions in a magnetic trap
Abstract: Atoms confined in a magnetic trap can escape by making spin-flip Majorana transitions due to a breakdown of the adiabatic approximation. Several papers have studied this process for atoms with spin $F = 1/2$ or $F= 1$. The present paper calculates the escape rate for atoms with spin $F > 1$. This problem has new features because the perturbation $ΔT$ which allows atoms to escape satisfies a sele… ▽ More

SUSY transformation of the Green function and a trace formula
Abstract: An integral relation is established between the Green functions corresponding to two Hamiltonians which are supersymmetric (SUSY) partners and in general may possess both discrete and continuous spectra. It is shown that when the continuous spectrum is present the trace of the difference of the Green functions for SUSY partners is a finite quantity which may or may not be equal to zero despite t… ▽ More
