Strong quantum-correlated sources are essential but delicate resources for quantum information science and engineering protocols. Decoherence and loss are the two main disruptive processes that lead to the loss of nonclassical behavior in quantum correlations. In quantum systems, scattering can contribute to both decoherence and loss. In this work, we present an experimental scheme capable of significantly mitigating the adverse impact of scattering in quantum systems. Our quantum system is composed of a two-mode squeezed light generated with the four-wave mixing process in hot rubidium vapor, and a scatterer is introduced to one of the two modes. An integrating sphere is then placed after the scatterer to recollect the scattered photons. We use mutual information between the two modes as the measure of quantum correlations, and demonstrate a 47.5% mutual information recovery from scattering, despite an enormous photon loss of greater than 85%. Our scheme is a pioneering step towards recovering quantum correlations from disruptive random processes, thus has the potential to bridge the gap between proof-of-principle demonstrations and practical real-world deployments of quantum protocols.

Quantum frequency up-conversion is a cutting-edge technique that leverages the interaction between photons and quantum systems to shift the frequency of single photons from a lower frequency to a higher frequency. If the photon before up-conversion was one of the entangled pair, then it is important to understand how much entanglement is preserved after up-conversion. In this study, we present a theoretical analysis of the transformation of the time-dependent second-order quantum correlations in photon pairs and find the preservation of such correlations under fairly general conditions. We also analyze the two-photon Hong-Ou-Mandel interference between the frequency-converted idler photon and the signal photon. The visibility of the two-photon interference is sensitive to the magnitude of the frequency conversion, and it improves when the frequency separation between two photons goes down.

Criterion and sufficient condition of existence of a constant symmetry matrix for a matrix Hamiltonian are presented. A method of constructing of a matrix Hamiltonian with a given constant symmetry matrix in terms of a set of arbitrary scalar functions and eigen- and associated vectors of this matrix is offered. Examples of constructing of $2\times2$ matrix Hamiltonians with given symmetry matrices for the cases of different structure of Jordan form of these matrices are elucidated.

It is shown that one can add for the final $2\times2$ matrix Hamiltonian with respect to the initial matrix Hamiltonian with the help of intertwining operator of the first order either up to two bound states for different energy values or up to two bound states described by vector-eigenfunctions for the same energy value or up to two bound states described by vector-eigenfunction and associated vector-function for the same energy value.

It is established that for any matrix intertwining operator Q_N^- of minimal order N there is a matrix operator Q_{N'}^+ of different, in general, order N' that intertwines the same Hamiltonians as Q_N^- in the opposite direction and such that the products Q_{N'}^+Q_N^- and Q_N^-Q_{N'}^+ are identical polynomials of the corresponding Hamiltonians. The related polynomial algebra of supersymmetry is constructed. The problems of minimization and of reducibility of a matrix intertwining operator are considered and the criteria of minimizability and of reducibility are presented. It is shown that there are absolutely irreducible matrix intertwining operators, in contrast to the scalar case.

The interference between the two sets of sidebands was used to determine the helicity and topological charge in each order. Topological charges in all orders were found to be discrete and follow selection rules predicted by a cascaded Raman process.

Resolutions of identity for certain non-Hermitian Hamiltonians constructed from biorthogonal sets of their eigen- and associated functions are given for the spectral problem defined on entire axis. Non-Hermitian Hamiltonians under consideration possess the continuous spectrum and the following peculiarities are investigated: (1) the case when there is an exceptional point of arbitrary multiplicity situated on a boundary of continuous spectrum; (2) the case when there is an exceptional point situated inside of continuous spectrum. The reductions of the derived resolutions of identity under narrowing of the classes of employed test functions are revealed. It is shown that in the case (1) some of associated functions included into the resolution of identity are normalizable and some of them may be not and in the case (2) the bounded associated function corresponding to the exceptional point does not belong to the physical state space. Spectral properties of a SUSY partner Hamiltonian for the Hamiltonian with an exceptional point are examined.

We study complex potentials and related non-diagonalizable Hamiltonians with special emphasis on formal definitions of associated functions and Jordan cells. The nonlinear SUSY for complex potentials is considered and the theorems characterizing its structure are presented. We present the class of potentials invariant under SUSY transformations for non-diagonalizable Hamiltonians and formulate several results concerning the properties of associated functions . We comment on the applicability of these results for softly non-Hermitian PT-symmetric Hamiltonians. The role of SUSY (Darboux) transformations in increasing/decreasing of Jordancells in SUSY partner Hamiltonians is thoroughly analyzed and summarized in the Index Theorem. The properties of non-diagonalizable Hamiltonians as well as the Index Theorem are illustrated in the solvable examples of non-Hermitian reflectionless Hamiltonians . The rigorous proofs are relegated to the Part II of this paper. At last, some peculiarities in resolution of identity for discrete and continuous spectra with a zero-energy bound state at threshold are discussed.

We study the Nonlinear (Polynomial, N-fold,...) Supersymmetry algebra in one-dimensional QM. Its structure is determined by the type of conjugation operation (Hermitian conjugation or transposition) and described with the help of the Super-Hamiltonian projection on the zero-mode subspace of a supercharge. We show that the SUSY algebra with transposition symmetry is always polynomial in the Hamiltonian if supercharges represent differential operators of finite order. The appearance of the extended SUSY with several (complex or real) supercharges is analyzed in details and it is established that no more than two independent supercharges may generate a Nonlinear superalgebra which can be appropriately specified as {\cal N} = 2 SUSY. In this case we find a non-trivial hidden symmetry operator and rephrase it as a non-linear function of the Super-Hamiltonian on the physical state space. The full {\cal N} = 2 Non-linear SUSY algebra includes "central charges" both polynomial and non-polynomial (due to a symmetry operator) in the Super-Hamiltonian.

We present a general analysis for the interaction of a probe laser radiation with a coherently prepared molecular Raman medium. We describe a general formalism which includes dispersive effects, such as group velocity and group velocity dispersion (GVD). When dispersion is negligible, the analysis is especially simple and insightful. We show that molecular oscillations result in a modulated instantaneous susceptibility of the medium. The effect of the time-varying susceptibility on a probe laser pulse is two-fold: the output frequency becomes modulated because of the time-varying phase velocity, and the pulse shape becomes deformed because of the time-varying group velocity. We identify two mechanisms for pulse compression: (1) Frequency chir** with subsequent pulse compression by normal linear GVD (possibly in the same medium) and (2) Compression due to the time-varying group velocity. We analyze various aspects of pulse compression in the coherent Raman medium and derive conservation relations for this process. When we consider a probe laser pulse which is much shorter than the molecular oscillation period, we observe frequency chir**, compression, or stretching of this pulse, depending on its relative timing with respect to the molecular oscillations. Based on our analysis, we propose a method for selective compression or frequency conversion of single ultrashort pulses.
