Using a Sagdeev pseudopotential approach where the nonlinear structures are stationary in a comoving frame, the arbitrary or large amplitude dust-acoustic solitary waves and double layers have been studied in dusty plasmas containing warm positively charged dust and nonthermal distributed electrons and ions. Depending on the values of the critical Mach number, which varies with the plasma parameter, both supersonic and subsonic dust-acoustic solitary waves are found. It is found that our plasma system under consideration supports both positive and negative supersonic solitary waves, and only positive subsonic solitary waves and negative double layers. The parametric regimes for the existence of subsonic and supersonic dust-acoustic waves and how the polarity of solitary waves changes with plasma parameters are shown. It is observed that the solitary waves and double layers solution exist at the values of Mach number around its critical Mach number. The basic properties (amplitude, width, speed, etc.) of the solitary pulses and double layers are significantly modified by the plasma parameters (viz. ion to positive dust number density ratio, ion to electron temperature ratio, nonthermal parameter, positive dust temperature to ion temperature ratio, etc.). The applications of our present work in space environments (viz. cometary tails, Earth's mesosphere, Jupiter's magnetosphere, etc.) and laboratory devices, where nonthermal ions and electrons species along with positively charged dust species have been observed, are briefly discussed.

A theoretical investigation has been made to study the modulation stability/instability of three-dimensional dust-ion-acoustic wave packets in the warm magnetized complex plasma system in the presence of nonthermal distributed electrons and positrons species. The set of equations describing our plasma system has been reduced to a (3+1)-dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger equation by using the reductive perturbation method that is valid for finite but small amplitude limits. It is observed that both nonlinear and dispersive coefficients of (3+1)-dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger equation are significantly modified by the external magnetic field and transverse velocity perturbation. The regions of stable and unstable for the modulated dust-ion-acoustic waves have been examined numerically. Moreover, the dependence of modulation instability and rogue waves on the relevant plasma parameters is discussed. The implications of our theoretical results in space and laboratories magnetized dusty plasma medium is briefly discussed.

A rigorous theoretical investigation has been made on the nonlinear propagation of dust-ion-acoustic shock waves in a multi-component magnetized pair-ion plasma having inertial warm positive and negative ions, inertialess non-thermal electrons and positrons, and static negatively charged massive dust grains. The Burgers' equation is derived by employing reductive perturbation method. The plasma model supports both positive and negative shock structures in the presence of static negatively charged massive dust grains. It is found that the steepness of both positive and negative shock profiles declines with the increase of ion kinematic viscosity without affecting the height, and the temperature of the electrons enhances the amplitude of the shock profile. It is also observed that the increase in oblique angle rises the height of the positive shock profile, and the height of the positive shock wave increases with the number density of positron. The application of the findings from present investigation are briefly discussed.

The dusty plasma system (containing nonthermally distributed inertialess electron species, warm inertial ion species, and positively charged stationary dust species) is considered. The basic features of subsonic and supersonic modified-ion-acoustic solitary and shock waves formed in such a dusty plasma system have been investigated by the reductive perturbation method. It has been shown that positively charged dust species play a new role in favor of the formation of subsonic solitary and shock waves. On the other hand, the ion fluid temperature (represented by the parameter $σ$) and the electron nonthermal parameter (represented by $α$) play new significant roles against the formation of subsonic solitary and shock waves and give rise to the formation of the supersonic solitary and shock waves after their ($σ$'s and $α$'s) certain values. It is also shown that after a certain value of the nonthermal parameter $α$, the subsonic as well as supersonic solitary and shock waves are formed with negative potential. The important applications of the results of this theoretical investigation in space and laboratory dusty plasma systems are pinpointed.

A proper theoretical research has been carried out to explore the modulational instability (MI) conditions of dust-ion-acoustic (DIA) waves (DIAWs) in a three-component dusty plasma system containing inertialess $κ$-distributed electrons, and inertial warm positive ions and negative dust grains. The novel nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE) has been derived by employing the reductive perturbation method. The analysis under consideration demonstrates two types of modes, namely, fast and slow DIA modes. The dispersion and nonlinear properties of the plasma medium, as well as the MI conditions of DIAWs and the configuration of the energetic rogue waves (RWs) associated with DIAWs in the Modulationally unstable regime, have been rigorously changed by the plasma parameters, namely, charge, mass, temperature, and number density of the plasma species. A complex plasma medium (containing Cairns nonthermal electron species, adiabatically warm inertial ion species, and stationary positively charged dust (PCD) species (making a plasma system very complex) is considered. The effects of PCD species, nonthermal electron species, and adiabatic ion-temperature on ion-acoustic (IA) solitary waves (SWs) and double layers (DLs) are investigated by the pseudo-potential approach, which is valid for the arbitrary amplitude time-independent SWs and DLs. It is observed that the presence of the PCD species reduces the phase speed of the IA waves, and consequently supports the IA subsonic compressive SWs in such electron-ion-PCD plasmas. On the other hand, the increase in both adiabatic ion-temperature and the number of nonthermal or fast electrons causes to reduce the possibility for the formation of the subsonic SWs, and thus convert subsonic SWs into supersonic ones. It is also observed that after at a certain value of the nonthermal parameter, the IA supersonic SWs with both positive and negative potentials as well as the DLs with only negative potential exist. The applications of the work in space environments (viz. Earth's mesosphere, cometary tails, Jupiter's magnetosphere, etc.) and laboratory devices, where the warm ion and nonthermal electron species along with PCD species have been observed, are briefly discussed.

The nature of dust-acoustic (DA) wave electrostatic and self-gravitational potentials are correctly found by the numerical analysis of two coupled second-order nonlinear differential equations for electrostatic and self-gravitational potentials associated with the DA waves in such an opposite polarity dusty plasma medium. These coupled nonlinear differential equations are derived from the continuity and momentum equations for positive and negative dust species, and the Boltzmann law for ion species. A rigorous theoretical investigation is made of arbitrary amplitude nucleus acoustic solitary waves (SWs) in a fully ionized multi-nucleus plasma system (consisting of thermally degenerate electron species and non-degenerate warm light as well as heavy nucleus species). The pseudo-potential approach, which is valid for the arbitrary amplitude SWs, is employed. The subsonic and supersonic nucleus-acoustic SWs (which are found to be compressive) along with their basic features are identified. The basic properties of these subsonic and supersonic nucleus-acoustic SWs are found to be significantly modified by the effects of non and ultra-relativistically degenerate electron species, dynamics of heavy nucleus species, number densities as well as adiabatic temperatures of light and heavy nucleus species, etc. It shown that the presence of heavy nucleus species with non-degenerate (isothermal) electron species supports the existence of subsonic nucleus-acoustic SWs, and that the effects of electron degeneracies and light and heavy nucleus temperatures reduce the possibility for the formation of these subsonic nucleus-acoustic SWs. The amplitude of the supersonic nucleus-acoustic SWs in the situation of non-relativistically degenerate electron species is much smaller than that of ultra-relativistically degenerate electron species, but is much larger than that of isothermal electron species. The rise of adiabatic temperature of light or heavy nucleus species causes to decrease (increase) the amplitude (width) of the subsonic and supersonic nucleus acoustic SWs. On the other hand, the increase in the number density of light or heavy nucleus species causes to increase (decrease) the amplitude (width) of the subsonic and supersonic nucleus acoustic SWs. The results of this investigation are found to be applicable in laboratory, space, and astrophysical plasma systems.

A fully ionized multi-nucleus plasma system (containing thermally degenerate electron species, non-degenerate warm light nucleus species, and low dense stationary heavy nucleus species) is considered. The basic features of thermal and degenerate pressure driven small and arbitrary amplitude subsonic and supersonic nucleus-acoustic solitary waves in such a plasma system are studied by the pseudo-potential approach. The effects of stationary heavy nucleus, non-relativistically and ultra-relativistically electron degeneracies, and light nucleus temperature on small and arbitrary amplitude subsonic and supersonic nucleus-acoustic solitary waves are also examined. It is found that (i) the presence of stationary heavy nucleus species with Bolttzmann distributed electron species supports the existence of subsonic nucleus-acoustic solitary waves, and that the effects of electron degeneracies and light nucleus temperature reduce the possibility for the formation of these subsonic nucleus-acoustic solitary waves; (ii) the amplitude (width) of the subsonic nucleus-acoustic solitary waves increases (decreases) with the rise of the number density of heavy nucleus species; (iii) the amplitude of the supersonic nucleus-acoustic solitary waves in the situation of no-relativistically degenerate electron species is much smaller than that of ultra-relativistically degenerate electron species, but is much larger than that of isothermal electron species; (iv) their width in the situation of non-relativistically degenerate electron species is much wider than that of ultra-relativistically degenerate electron species; (v) their amplitude (width) decreases (increases) with the rise of the light nucleus temperature. The applications of the results in astrophysical, space, and laboratory plasma situations are briefly discussed.

A theoretical investigation has been made to understand the mechanism of the formation of both bright and dark envelope soltions associated with dust-ion-acoustic waves (DIAWs) propagating in an unmagnetized three component dusty plasma medium having inertial warm positive ions and negative dust grains, and inertialess non-thermal Cairns' distributed electrons. A nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE) is derived by employing reductive perturbation method. The effects of plasma parameters, viz., $γ_2$ (the ratio of the positive ion temperature to electron temperature times the charge state of ion) and $ν$ (the ratio of the charge state of negative dust grain to positive ion) on the modulational instability of DIAW which is governed by NLSE, are extensively studied. It is found that increasing the value of the ion (electron) temperature reduces (enhances) the critical wave number ($k_c$). The results of our present theoretical work may be used to interpret the nonlinear electrostatic structures which can exist in many astrophysical environments and laboratory plasmas.

A theoretical investigation of the modulational instability (MI) of dust-acoustic waves (DAWs) by deriving a nonlinear Schrödinger equation in an electron depleted opposite polarity dusty plasma system containing non-extensive positive ions has been presented. The conditions for MI of DAWs and formation of envelope solitons have been investigated. The sub-extensivity and super-extensivity of positive ions are seen to change the stable and unstable parametric regimes of DAWs. The addition of dust grains causes to change the width of both bright and dark envelope solitons. The findings of this study may be helpful to understand the nonlinear features of DAWs in Martian atmosphere, cometary tail, solar system, and in laboratory experiments, etc.

The modulational instability of dust-ion-acoustic (DIA) mode and associated rogue waves in a three component dusty plasma system (containing inertial warm ion and negatively charged dust fluids along with inertialess $q$-distributed electrons) has been theoretically investigated. A nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE) has been derived by employing the reductive perturbation method. It is observed that the dusty plasma system under consideration supports the fast and slow DIA modes, and that the dispersion and nonlinear coefficients of the NLSE determine the parametric regimes not only for the modulationally stable and unstable fast DIA mode, but also for the formation of the DIA rogue waves. The parametric regimes for the modulational instability of the fast DIA mode, and the criterion for the formation of the DIA rogue waves have been found to be significantly modified by the effects of the relevant plasma parameters, particularly, mass and charge state of ion and dust species, number density of the plasma species, and non-extensive parameter $q$, etc. It is found that the modulationally stable parametric regime decreases (increases) with the increase in the value of positive (negative) $q$. Dust-ion-acoustic (DIA) rogue waves (DIARWs) are investigated in a three components dusty plasma system containing inertialess electrons featuring non-thermal non-extensive distribution as well as inertial warm ions and negative dust grains. A nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE), which governs the conditions of the modulational instability (MI) of DIA waves (DIAWs), is obtained by using the reductive perturbation method. The basic properties of nonlinear ion-acoustic (IA) waves (IAWs), particularly finite amplitude IA rogue waves (IARWs) in a plasma medium (containing pair ions, iso-thermal positrons and non-thermal electrons) are theoretically investigated by deriving the nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE). The criteria for the modulational instability of IAWs, and the basic features of finite amplitude IARWs are identified. The modulationally stable and unstable regions are determined by the sign of the ratio of the dispersive coefficient to the nonlinear coefficient of NLSE. The latter is analyzed to obtain the region for the existence of the IARWs, which corresponds to the unstable region. The shape of the profile of the rogue waves depends on the non-thermal parameter $α$ and the ratio of electron temperature to positron temperature. It is found that the increase in the value of the non-thermal parameter enhances both the amplitude and width of IARWs, and that the enhancement of positron (electron) temperature reduces (enhances) the amplitude and width of IARWs. It is worth to mention that our present investigation may be useful for understanding the salient features of IARWs in space (viz., upper region of Titan's atmosphere, cometary comae, and Earth's ionosphere, etc.) and laboratory (viz., plasma processing reactor and neutral beam sources, etc.) plasmas.

A double pair plasma system containing cold inertial positive and negative ions, and inertialess super-thermal electrons and positrons is considered. The standard nonlinear Schrödinger equation is derived by using the reductive perturbation method to investigate the nonlinear dynamics of the ion-acoustic waves (IAWs) as well as their modulation instability. It is observed that the ion-acoustic dark (bright) envelope solitons are formed for modulationally stable (unstable) plasma region, and that the presence of highly dense super-thermal electrons and positrons enhances (reduces) this unstable (stable) region. It is also found that the effect of super-thermality of electron or positron species causes to increase the nonlinearity, and to fasten the formation of the bright envelope solitons. It has been observed from the analysis of NLS equaion that the modulationally stable solitary DAWs give rise to the existence of dark envelope solitons, and that the modulationally unstable solitary DAWs give rise to the existence of bright envelope solitons or rogue structures. It is also observed for the fast mode of DAWs that the basic features (viz. stability of the DAWs, MI growth rate, amplitude and width of the DA rogue waves, etc.) are significantly modified by the related plasma parameters (viz. dust masses, dust charge state, non-extensive parameter $q$, and non-thermal parameter $α$). The results of our present investigation might be useful for understanding different nonlinear electrostatic phenomena in both space (viz. ionosphere and mesosphere) and laboratory plasmas (viz. high intensity laser irradiation and hot cathode discharge).

The existence and the basic features of ion-acoustic (IA) envelope solitons in a self-gravitating degenerate quantum plasma system (SG-DQPS), containing inertial non-relativistically degenerate light and heavy ion species as well as inertialess non-relativistically degenerate positron and electron species, have been theoretically investigated by deriving the nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation. The NLS equation, which governs the dynamics of the IA waves, has disclosed the modulationally stable and unstable regions for the IA waves. The unstable region allows to generate bright envelope solitons which are modulationaly stable. It is found that the stability and the growth rate dependent on the plasma parameters (like, mass and number density of the plasma species). The implications of our results in astronomical compact object (viz. white dwarfs, neutron stars, and black holes, etc.) are briefly discussed.

The propagation of ion-acoustic waves (IAWs) in a collisionless unmagnetized self-gravitating degenerate quantum plasma system (SG-DQPS) has been studied theoretically for the first time. A nonlinear Schrödinger equation is derived by using the reductive perturbation method to study the nonlinear dynamics of the IAWs in the SG-DQPS. It is found that for $k_c > k$ ($k_c < k$) (where $k_c$ is critical value of the propagation constant $k$ which determines the stable and unstable region of IAWs) the IAWs are modulationally unstable (stable), and that $k_c$ depends only on the ratio of the electron number density to light ion number density. It is also observed that the self-gravitating bright envelope solitons are modulationally stable. The results obtained from our present investigation are useful for understanding the nonlinear propagation of the IAWs in astrophysical compact objects like white dwarfs and neutron stars.

The nonlinear propagation of the dust-acoustic bright and dark envelope solitons in an opposite polarity dusty plasma system (composed of non-extensive $q$-distributed electrons, isothermal ions, and positively as well as negatively charged warm dust) have been theoretically investigated. The reductive perturbation method (which is valid for a small, but finite amplitude limit) is employed to derive the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. Two types of modes (namely, fast and slow dust-acoustic (DA) modes) have been observed. The conditions for the modulational instability (MI) and its growth rate in the unstable regime of the DA waves are significantly modified by the effects of non-extensive electrons, dust mass, temperatures of different plasma species, etc. The implications of the obtained results from our current investigation in space (viz. Jupiters magnetosphere, upper mesosphere, and comets tails) and laboratory (e.g. direct current and radio-frequency discharges, plasma processing reactors, fusion plasma devices, and solid-fuel combustion products, etc.) dusty plasmas are briefly discussed.

Modulational instability (MI) of dust acoustic waves (DAWs), which propagates in an opposite polarity dusty plasma system, containing inertial warm negatively and positively charged dust particles as well as non-extensive q-distributed elec- trons and ions, has been theoretically investigated. The nonlinear Schrodinger (NLS) equation is derived by employing the reductive perturbation method. The NLS equation leads to the MI of DAWs as well as to the formation of DAW rogue waves (DARWs), which are formed due to the effects of nonlinearity in the propagation of DAWs. Both stable and unstable regions are revealed from the analysis of the NLS equation. It is observed that the basic features of the DAWs (viz. stability of the wave profile, MI growth rate, amplitude, and width of DARWs) are significantly modified by the various plasma parameters such as non-extensive parameter, electron number density, and electron temperature. The existence of the non-extensive electron/ion distribution creates an influence on the MI of the waves. It is observed that non-extensive distributed ions have more effect on the MI of the DAWs than electrons.

A theoretical investigation is carried out to understand the basic features of nonlinear propagation of heavy ion-acoustic (HIA) waves subjected to an external magnetic field in an electron-positron-ion (EPI) plasma which consists of cold magnetized positively charged heavy ion fluids, and superthermal distributed electrons and positrons. In the nonlinear regime, the Korteweg-de Vries (K-dV) and modified K-dV(MK-dV) equations describing the propagation of HIA waves are derived. The latter admits a solitary wave solution with both positive and negative potentials (for K-dV equation) and only positive potential (for mK-dV equation) in the weak amplitude limit. It is observed that the effects of external magnetic field (obliqueness), superthermal electrons and positrons, different plasma species concentration, heavy ion dynamics and temperature ratio significantly modify the basic features of solitary waves (SWs). The application of the results in a magnetized EPI plasma, which occurs in many astrophysical objects (e.g., pulsars, cluster explosions, and active galactic nuclei) is briefly discussed.

The basic properties of the nucleus-acoustic (NA) solitary waves (SWs) are investigated in a super-dense self-gravitating magnetized quantum plasma (SDSGMQP) system in the presence of an external magnetic field, whose constituents are the non-degenerate light (heavy) nuclei, and non/ultra-relativistically degenerate electrons. The Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation has been derived by employing the reductive perturbation method. The NA SWs are formed with negative (positive) electrostatic (self-gravitational) potential. It is also observed that the effects of non/ultra-relativistically degenerate electron pressure, and the obliqueness of the external magnetic field significantly change the basic properties (e.g. amplitude, width, and speed) of NA SWs. The findings of our present analysis can be very helpful to explain the physics behind the formation of the NA SWs in astrophysical compact objects, specially neutron stars, which are briefly discussed.

The heavy ion acoustic solitary waves (HIASWs) in a magnetized, collisionless, three component space plasma system in the presence of dynamical heavy particles and bi-kappa distributed two distinct temperature of electrons has been carried out. The Korteweg-de Vries (K-dV), the modified K-dV (mK-dV), and the further mK-dV (fmK-dV) equations are derived by employing the well known reductive perturbation method. The basic features of HIASWs (speed, amplitude, width etc.) are found to be significantly modified by the effects of number density of plasma species, superthermal electrons with two distinct temperatures and the magnetic field (obliqueness). The K-dV and fm-KdV solitons exhibit both compressive and rarefactive structures, whereas the mK-dV solitons support only compressive structures. In order to trace the vicinity of the critical heavy ion density, neither the magnetized KdV nor magnetized mKdV equation is suitable for describing the HIASWs. Therefore, we have considered a higher order nonlinearity to describe the solitary profiles by deriving fmK-dV equation. The implication of our results in some space and laboratory plasma situations are concisely discussed.

The propagation of ion-acoustic solitary waves (IASWs) in a magnetized, collisionless degenerate plasma system for describing collective plasma oscillations in dense quantum plasmas with relativistically degenerate electrons, oppositely charged inertial ions, and positively charged immobile heavy elements is investigated theoretically. The perturbations of the magnetized quantum plasma are studied employing the reductive perturbation technique to derive the Korteweg-de Vries (K-dV) and the modified K-dV (mK-dV) equations that admits solitary wave solutions. Chandrasekhar limits are used to investigate the degeneracy effects of interstellar compact objects through equation of state for degenerate electrons in case of non-relativistic and ultra-relativistic cases. The basic properties of small but finite-amplitude IASWs are modified significantly by the combined effects of the degenerate electron number density, pair ion number density, static heavy element number density and magnetic field. It is found that the obliqueness affects both the amplitude and width of the solitary waves, whereas the other parameters mainly influence the width of the solitons. The results presented in this paper can be useful for future investigations of astrophysical multi-ion plasmas.
