Stochastic p-Bit devices play a pivotal role in solving NP-hard problems, neural network computing, and hardware accelerators for algorithms such as the simulated annealing. In this work, we focus on Stochastic p-Bits based on high-barrier magnetic tunnel junctions (HB-MTJs) with identical stack structure and cell geometry, but employing different spin-orbit torque (SOT) switching schemes. We conducted a comparative study of their switching probability as a function of pulse amplitude and width of the applied voltage. Through experimental and theoretical investigations, we have observed that the Y-type SOT-MTJs exhibit the gentlest dependence of the switching probability on the external voltage. This characteristic indicates superior tunability in randomness and enhanced robustness against external disturbances when Y-type SOT-MTJs are employed as stochastic p-Bits. Furthermore, the random numbers generated by these Y-type SOT-MTJs, following XOR pretreatment, have successfully passed the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) SP800-22 test. This comprehensive study demonstrates the high performance and immense potential of Y-type SOT-MTJs for the implementation of stochastic p-Bits.

In scintillation detector, scintillation crystals are typically made into 2-dimension modular array. The location of incident gamma-ray need be calibrated due to spatial response nonlinearity. Generally, position histograms, the characteristic flood response of scintillation detectors, are used for position calibration. In this paper, a position calibration method based on crystal position lookup table which maps the inaccurate location calculated by Anger logic to the exact hitting crystal position has been proposed, Firstly, position histogram is segmented into disconnected regions. Then crystal marking points are labeled by finding the centroids of regions. Finally, crystal boundaries are determined and crystal position lookup table is generated. The scheme is evaluated by the whole-body PET scanner and breast dedicated SPECT detector developed by Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The results demonstrate that the algorithm is accurate, efficient, robust and general purpose.

The propagation of nonlinear electron- acoustic waves (EAWs) in an unmagnetized collision- less plasma system consisting of a cold electron fluid, superthermal hot electrons and stationary ions is investigated. A reductive perturbation method is employed to obtain a modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) equa- tion for the first-order potential. The small amplitude electron-acoustic solitary wave, e.g., soliton and dou- ble layer (DL) solutions are presented, and the effects of superthermal electrons on the nature of the solitons are also discussed. But the results shows that the weak stationary EA DLs cannot be supported by the present model.

Abstract:
It is shown that under the post-Newtonian approximation the Einstein equations can be reduced to the standard Maxwell-type field equations in a medium; in such a context the Cerenkov emission by a neutralparticle gives large energy loss while the particle moves at faster than the phase speed of waves in the medium.

The interactions of gravitational waves with interstellar matter, dealing with resonant wave-particle and wave-wave interactions, are considered on the basis of magnetic-type Maxwell-Vlasov equations. It is found that the behavior of the fields, involving the "gravitoelectromagnetic" or "GEM " fields, the perturbed density field and self-generated gravitomagnetic field with low frequency, can be described by the nonlinear coupling equations Eqs. (6.10)-(6.12). Numerical results show that they may collapse. In other words, due to self-condensing, a stronger GME fields could be produced; and they could appear as the gravitational waves with high energy reaching on Earth. In this case, Weber's results, perhaps, are acceptable.
