Quantum Diamond Microscope for Narrowband Magnetic Imaging with High Spatial and Spectral Resolution
Abstract: The quantum diamond microscope (QDM) is a recently developed technology for near-field imaging of magnetic fields with micron-scale spatial resolution. In the present work, we integrate a QDM with a narrowband measurement protocol and a lock-in camera; and demonstrate imaging of radiofrequency (RF) magnetic field patterns produced by microcoils, with spectral resolution $\approx1$\,Hz. This RF-QDM… ▽ More

Relativistic viscous hydrodynamics for heavy-ion collisions: A comparison between the Chapman-Enskog and Grad methods
Abstract: Derivations of relativistic second-order dissipative hydrodynamic equations have relied almost exclusively on the use of Grad's 14-moment approximation to write $f(x,p)$, the nonequilibrium distribution function in the phase space. Here we consider an alternative Chapman-Enskog-like method, which, unlike Grad's, involves a small expansion parameter. We derive an expression for $f(x,p)$ to second o… ▽ More

Relativistic hydrodynamics from Boltzmann equation with modified collision term
Abstract: Generalizing the collision term in the relativistic Boltzmann equation to include nonlocal effects, and using Grad's 14-moment approximation for the single-particle distribution function, we derive evolution equations for the relativistic dissipative fluid dynamics and compare them with the corresponding equations obtained in the standard Israel-Stewart and related approaches. Significance of this… ▽ More

Boltzmann equation with a nonlocal collision term and the resultant dissipative fluid dynamics
Abstract: Starting with the relativistic Boltzmann equation where the collision term was generalized to include gradients of the phase-space distribution function, we recently presented a new derivation of the equations for the relativistic dissipative fluid dynamics. We compared them with the corresponding equations obtained in the standard Israel-Stewart and related approaches. Our method generates all th… ▽ More

New relativistic dissipative fluid dynamics from kinetic theory
