This research use the AMPT model in Au+Au collisions to study the influence of the three nucleons correlation $C_{n2p}$ on the light nuclei yield ratios. It is found that neglecting $C_{n2p}$ leads to an overestimated relative neutron density fluctuation extraction. Including $C_{n2p}$ will enhances the agreement with experimental results with higher yield ratios, yet it does not change the energy dependence of the yield ratio. Since there is no first-order phase transition or critical physics in the AMPT model, our work fails to reproduce the experimental energy-dependent peak around $\sqrt{s_\text{NN}} = $20-30 GeV. Our work might offer a baseline for investigating critical physics phenomena using the light nuclei production as a probe.

The equation of state of neutron-rich nuclear matter is of interest to both nuclear physics and astrophysics. We have demonstrated the consistency between laboratory and astrophysical nuclear matter in neutron stars by considering low-density nuclear physics constraints (from $^{208}$Pb neutron-skin thickness) and high-density astrophysical constraints (from neutron star global properties). We have used both quark-level and hadron-level models, taking the quark mean-field (QMF) model and the relativistic mean-field (RMF) model as examples, respectively. We have constrained the equation of states of neutron stars and some key nuclear matter parameters within the Bayesian statistical approach, using the first multi-messenger event GW170817/AT 2017gfo, as well as the mass-radius simultaneous measurements of PSR J0030+0451 and PSR J0740+6620 from NICER, and the neutron-skin thickness of $^{208}$Pb from both PREX-II measurement and ab initio calculations. Our results show that, compared with the RMF model, QMF model's direct coupling of quarks with mesons and gluons leads to the evolution of the in-medium nucleon mass with the quark mass correction. This feature enables QMF model a wider range of model applicability, as shown by a slow drop of the nucleon mass with density and a large value at saturation that is jointly constrained by nuclear physics and astronomy.

No significant $H$-dibaryon signal is observed in the $Ξ^-p$ final state. This is the first study of hyperon-nucleon interactions in electron-positron collisions and opens up a new direction for such research.

We investigate the twist-$3$ transverse-momentum-dependent parton distribution functions (TMDs) of the pion with basis light-front quantization. The twist-3 TMDs are not independent and can be decomposed into twist-$2$ and genuine twist-$3$ terms from the equations of motion (EOM). We compute the TMDs from the resulting light-front wave functions obtained by diagonalizing the light-front QCD Hamiltonian, determined for pion's constituent quark-antiquark and quark-antiquark-gluon Fock sectors, with three-dimensional confinement. We also obtain the twist-3 parton distribution functions (PDFs) and show that they preserve the sum rule, which affirms the robustness of our approach. This is the first time that theoretical predictions are made for subleading twist structures of the pion containing interference terms between two light-front Fock sectors.

The observations of optical and near-infrared counterparts of binary neutron star mergers not only enrich our knowledge about the abundance of heavy elements in the Universe, or help reveal the remnant object just after the merger as generally known, but also can effectively constrain dense nuclear matter properties and the equation of state (EOS) in the interior of the merging stars. Following the relativistic mean-field description of nuclear matter, we perform the Bayesian inference of the EOS and the nuclear matter properties using the first multi-messenger event GW170817/AT2017gfo, together with the NICER mass-radius measurements of pulsars. The kilonova is described by a radiation-transfer model with the dynamical ejecta, and light curves connect with the EOS through the quasi-universal relations between the ejecta properties (the ejected mass, velocity, opacity or electron fraction) and binary parameters (the mass ratio and reduced tidal deformability). It is found that the posterior distributions of the reduced tidal deformability from the AT2017gfo analysis display a bimodal structure, with the first peak enhanced by the GW170817 data, leading to slightly softened posterior EOSs, while the second peak cannot be achieved by a nuclear EOS with saturation properties in their empirical ranges. The inclusion of NICER data in our analyses results in stiffened EOS posterior because of the massive pulsar PSR J0740+6620. We give results at nuclear saturation density for the nuclear incompressibility, the symmetry energy and its slope, as well as the nucleon effective mass, from our analysis of those observational data.

We have studied nuclear fusion reactions from the Coulomb explosion of deuterium clusters induced by high-intensity laser beams within a transport approach. By incorporating the D+D $\rightarrow$ n + He$^3$ channel as inelastic collisions based on the stochastic method, we have calibrated the neutron yield from the simulation in a box system with that from the reaction rate equation. After justifying the Coulomb explosion of a single cluster by comparing results with available theoretical limits, we have then investigated the dynamics from Coulomb explosions of systems with different cluster numbers and different deuteron numbers in clusters. We find that the kinetic energy spectrum of deuterons at the final stage is different from that when neutrons are abundantly produced, corresponding to significantly different reaction rates. We also extrapolate the neutron yield result from small systems to large systems based on an intuitive parameterized form and compare with the available experimental result. The present framework can be extended by incorporating more channels, and useful for further studies of nuclear fusion reactions in plasma systems at higher energies reached in more recent experiments.

The chiral magnetic effect (CME) refers to charge separation along a strong magnetic field due to imbalanced chirality of quarks in local parity and charge-parity violating domains in quantum chromodynamics. The experimental measurement of the charge separation is made difficult by the presence of a major background from elliptic azimuthal anisotropy. This background and the CME signal have different sensitivities to the spectator and participant planes, and could thus be determined by measurements with respect to these planes. We report such measurements in Au+Au collisions at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of 200 GeV at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider. It is found that the charge separation, with the flow background removed, is consistent with zero in peripheral (large impact parameter) collisions. Some indication of finite CME signals is seen in mid-central (intermediate impact parameter) collisions. Significant residual background effects may, however, still be present.

In this range the ratio, $C_{6}/C_{2}$, of net-baryon distributions are predicted to be negative. In this paper, we report the first measurement of the midrapidity net-proton $C_{6}/C_{2}$ from 27, 54.4 and 200 GeV Au+Au collisions at RHIC. The dependence on collision centrality and kinematic acceptance in ($p_{T}$, $y$) are analyzed. While for 27 and 54.4 GeV collisions the $C_{6}/C_{2}$ values are close to zero within uncertainties, it is observed that for 200 GeV collisions, the $C_{6}/C_{2}$ ratio becomes progressively negative from peripheral to central collisions. Transport model calculations without critical dynamics predict mostly positive values except for the most central collisions within uncertainties. These observations seem to favor a smooth crossover in the high energy nuclear collisions at top RHIC energy.

The $C_{n}$ and $κ_n$ are presented as a function of collision energy, centrality and kinematic acceptance in rapidity, $y$, and transverse momentum, $p_{T}$. The data were taken during the first phase of the Beam Energy Scan (BES) program (2010 -- 2017) at the BNL Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) facility. The measurements are carried out at midrapidity ($|y| <$ 0.5) and transverse momentum 0.4 $<$ $p_{\rm T}$ $<$ 2.0 GeV/$c$, using the STAR detector at RHIC. We observe a non-monotonic energy dependence ($\sqrt{s_{\mathrm {NN}}}$ = 7.7 -- 62.4 GeV) of the net-proton $C_{4}$/$C_{2}$ with the significance of 3.1$σ$ for the 0-5\% central Au+Au collisions. This is consistent with the expectations of critical fluctuations in a QCD-inspired model. Thermal and transport model calculations show a monotonic variation with $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm {NN}}}$. For the multiparticle correlation functions, we observe significant negative values for a two-particle correlation function, $κ_2$, of protons and antiprotons, which are mainly due to the effects of baryon number conservation. Furthermore, it is found that the four-particle correlation function, $κ_4$, of protons plays a role in determining the energy dependence of proton $C_4/C_1$ below 19.6 GeV, which cannot be understood by the effect of baryon number conservation.

We report a study of the processes of $e^+e^-\to K^+ (D_s^- D^{*0} + D^{*-}_s D^0)$ based on $e^+e^-$ annihilation samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at BEPCII at five center-of-mass energies ranging from 4.628 to 4.698 GeV with a total integrated luminosity of 3.7 fb$^{-1}$. An excess over the known contributions of the conventional charmed mesons is observed near the $D_s^- D^{*0}$ and $D^{*-}_s D^0$ mass thresholds in the $K^{+}$ recoil-mass spectrum for events collected at $\sqrt{s}=4.681$ GeV. The structure matches a mass-dependent-width Breit-Wigner line shape, whose pole mass and width are determined as $(3982.5^{+1.8}_{-2.6}\pm2.1)$ MeV/$c^2$ and $(12.8^{+5.3}_{-4.4}\pm3.0)$ MeV, respectively. The first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. The significance of the resonance hypothesis is estimated to be 5.3 $σ$ over the contributions only from the conventional charmed mesons. This is the first candidate of the charged hidden-charm tetraquark with strangeness, decaying into $D_s^- D^{*0}$ and $D^{*-}_s D^0$. However, the properties of the excess need further exploration with more statistics.

Because of the development of many-body theories of nuclear matter, the long-standing, open problem of the equation of state (EOS) of dense matter may be understood in the near future through the confrontation of theoretical calculations with laboratory measurements of nuclear properties \& reactions and increasingly accurate observations in astronomy. In this review, we focus on the following six aspects: 1) providing a survey of the quark mean-field (QMF) model, which consistently describes a nucleon and many-body nucleonic system from a quark potential; 2) applying QMF to both nuclear matter and neutron stars; 3) extending QMF formalism to the description of hypernuclei and hyperon matter, as well as hyperon stars; 4) exploring the hadron-quark phase transition and hybrid stars by combining the QMF model with the quark matter model characterized by the sound speed; 5) constraining interquark interactions through both the gravitational wave signals and electromagnetic signals of binary merger event GW170817; and 6) discussing further opportunities to study dense matter EOS from compact objects, such as neutron star cooling and pulsar glitches.

Quark interactions with topological gluon configurations can induce local chirality imbalance and parity violation in quantum chromodynamics, which can lead to the chiral magnetic effect (CME) -- an electric charge separation along the strong magnetic field in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. The CME-sensitive azimuthal correlator observable ($Δγ$) is contaminated by background arising, in part, from resonance decays coupled with elliptic anisotropy ($v_{2}$). We report here differential measurements of the correlator as a function of the pair invariant mass ($m_{\rm inv}$) in 20-50\% centrality Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{\rm NN}}}$= 200 GeV by the STAR experiment at RHIC. Strong resonance background contributions to $Δγ$ are observed. At large $m_{\rm inv}$ where this background is significantly reduced, the $Δγ$ value is found to be significantly smaller. An event-shape-engineering technique is deployed to determine the $v_{2}$ background shape as a function of $m_{\rm inv}$. We extract a $v_2$-independent and $m_{\rm inv}$-averaged signal $Δγ_{\rm sig}$ = (0.03 $\pm$ 0.06 $\pm$ 0.08) $\times10^{-4}$, or $(2\pm4\pm5)\%$ of the inclusive $Δγ(m_{\rm inv}>0.4$ GeV/$c^2$)$ =(1.58 \pm 0.02 \pm 0.02) \times10^{-4}$, within pion $p_{T}$ = 0.2 - 0.8~\gevc and averaged over pseudorapidity ranges of $-1 < η< -0.05$ and $0.05 < η< 1$. This represents an upper limit of $0.23\times10^{-4}$, or $15\%$ of the inclusive result, at $95\%$ confidence level for the $m_{\rm inv}$-integrated CME contribution.

We extend the quark mean-field (QMF) model for nuclear matter and study the possible presence of quark matter inside the cores of neutron stars. A sharp first-order hadron-quark phase transition is implemented combining the QMF for the hadronic phase with "constant-speed-of-sound" parametrization for the high-density quark phase. The interplay of the nuclear symmetry energy slope parameter, $L$, and the dimensionless phase transition parameters (the transition density $n_{\rm trans}/n_0$, the transition strength $Δ\varepsilon/\varepsilon_{\rm trans}$, and the sound speed squared in quark matter $c^2_{\rm QM}$) are then systematically explored for the hybrid star proprieties, especially the maximum mass $M_{\rm max}$ and the radius and the tidal deformability of a typical $1.4 \,M_{\odot}$ star. We show the strong correlation between the symmetry energy slope $L$ and the typical stellar radius $R_{1.4}$, similar to that previously found for neutron stars without a phase transition. With the inclusion of phase transition, we obtain robust limits on the maximum mass ($M_{\rm max}< 3.6 \,M_{\odot}$) and the radius of $1.4 \,M_{\odot}$ stars ($R_{1.4}\gtrsim 9.6~\rm km$), and we find that a too-weak ($Δ\varepsilon/\varepsilon_{\rm trans}\lesssim 0.2$) phase transition taking place at low densities $\lesssim 1.3-1.5 \, n_0$ is strongly disfavored. We also demonstrate that future measurements of the radius and tidal deformability of $\sim 1.4 \,M_{\odot}$ stars, as well as the mass measurement of very massive pulsars, can help reveal the presence and amount of quark matter in compact objects.

The measurements of particle multiplicity distributions have generated considerable interest in understanding the fluctuations of conserved quantum numbers in the Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) hadronization regime, in particular near a possible critical point and near the chemical freeze-out. We report the measurement of efficiency and centrality bin width corrected cumulant ratios ($C_{2}/C_{1}$, $C_{3}/C_{2}$) of net-$Λ$ distributions, in the context of both strangeness and baryon number conservation, as a function of collision energy, centrality and rapidity. The results are for Au + Au collisions at five beam energies ($\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 19.6, 27, 39, 62.4 and 200 GeV) recorded with the Solenoidal Tracker at RHIC (STAR). We compare our results to the Poisson and negative binomial (NBD) expectations, as well as to Ultra-relativistic Quantum Molecular Dynamics (UrQMD) and Hadron Resonance Gas (HRG) model predictions. Both NBD and Poisson baselines agree with data within the statistical and systematic uncertainties. The ratios of the measured cumulants show no features of critical fluctuations. The chemical freeze-out temperatures extracted from a recent HRG calculation, which was successfully used to describe the net-proton, net-kaon and net-charge data, indicate $Λ$ freeze-out conditions similar to those of kaons. However, large deviations are found when comparing to temperatures obtained from net-proton fluctuations. The net-$Λ$ cumulants show a weak, but finite, dependence on the rapidity coverage in the acceptance of the detector, which can be attributed to quantum number conservation.

Non-monotonic variation with collision energy ($\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$) of the moments of the net-baryon number distribution in heavy-ion collisions, related to the correlation length and the susceptibilities of the system, is suggested as a signature for the Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) critical point. We report the first evidence of a non-monotonic variation in kurtosis times variance of the net-proton number (proxy for net-baryon number) distribution as a function of \rootsnn with 3.1$σ$ significance, for head-on (central) gold-on-gold (Au+Au) collisions measured using the STAR detector at RHIC. Data in non-central Au+Au collisions and models of heavy-ion collisions without a critical point show a monotonic variation as a function of $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$.

We study the holographic Schwinger effect with magnetic field at RHIC and LHC energies by using the AdS/CFT correspondence. We consider both weak and strong magnetic field cases with $B\ll T^2$ and $B\gg T^2$ solutions respectively. Firstly, we calculate separating length of the particle pairs at finite magnetic field. It is found that for both weak and strong magnetic field solutions the maximum value of separating length decreases with the increase of magnetic field , which can be inferred that the virtual electron-positron pairs become real particles more easily. We also find that the magnetic field reduces the potential barrier and the critical field for the weak magnetic field solution, thus favors the Schwinger effect. With strong magnetic field solution, the magnetic field enhances the Schwinger effect when the pairs are in perpendicular to the magnetic field although the magnetic field increases the critical electric field.

The phase state of dense matter in the intermediate density range ($\sim$1-10 times the nuclear saturation density) is both intriguing and unclear and could have important observable effects in the present gravitational wave era of neutron stars. As the matter density increases in compact stars, the sound velocity is expected to approach the conformal limit ($c_s/c=1/\sqrt{3}$) at high densities and should also fulfill the causality limit ($c_s/c<1$). However, its detailed behavior remains a hot topic of debate. It was suggested that the sound velocity of dense matter could be an important indicator for a deconfinement phase transition, where a particular shape might be expected for its density dependence. In this work, we explore the general properties of the sound velocity and the adiabatic index of dense matter in hybrid stars, as well as in neutron stars and quark stars. Various conditions are employed for hadron-quark phase transition with varying interface tension. We find that the expected behavior of the sound velocity can also be achieved by the nonperturbative properties of the quark phase, in addition to a deconfinement phase transition. And it leads to a more compact star with a similar mass. We then propose a new class of quark star equation of states, which could be tested by future high-precision radius measurements of pulsar-like objects.

The absolute value of $D^0$-meson $dv_1/dy$ is about 25 times larger than that for charged kaons, with 3.4$σ$ significance. These data give a unique insight into the initial tilt of the produced matter, and offer constraints on the geometric and transport parameters of the hot QCD medium created in relativistic heavy-ion collisions.

According to the CPT theorem, which states that the combined operation of charge conjugation, parity transformation and time reversal must be conserved, particles and their antiparticles should have the same mass and lifetime but opposite charge and magnetic moment. Here, we test CPT symmetry in a nucleus containing a strange quark, more specifically in the hypertriton. This hypernucleus is the lightest one yet discovered and consists of a proton, a neutron, and a $Λ$ hyperon. With data recorded by the STAR detector{\cite{TPC,HFT,TOF}} at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider, we measure the $Λ$ hyperon binding energy $B_Λ$ for the hypertriton, and find that it differs from the widely used value{\cite{B_1973}} and from predictions{\cite{2019_weak, 1995_weak, 2002_weak, 2014_weak}}, where the hypertriton is treated as a weakly bound system. Our results place stringent constraints on the hyperon-nucleon interaction{\cite{Hammer2002, STAR-antiH3L}}, and have implications for understanding neutron star interiors, where strange matter may be present{\cite{Chatterjee2016}}. A precise comparison of the masses of the hypertriton and the antihypertriton allows us to test CPT symmetry in a nucleus with strangeness for the first time, and we observe no deviation from the expected exact symmetry.

The yield of deuterons is found to be well described by the thermal model. The collision energy, centrality, and transverse momentum dependence of the coalescence parameter $B_2$ are discussed. We find that the values of $B_2$ for anti-deuterons are systematically lower than those for deuterons, indicating that the correlation volume of anti-baryons is larger than that of baryons at $\sqrt{s_\text{NN}}$ from 19.6 to 39 GeV. In addition, values of $B_2$ are found to vary with collision energy and show a broad minimum around $\sqrt{s_\text{NN}}=\ $20 to 40 GeV, which might imply a change of the equation of state of the medium in these collisions.

From the very first multimessenger event of GW170817, clean robust constraints can be obtained for the tidal deformabilities of the two stars involved in the merger, which provides us unique opportunity to study the equation of states (EOSs) of dense stellar matter. In this contribution, we employ a model from the quark level, describing consistently a nucleon and many-body nucleonic system from a quark potential. We check that our sets of EOSs are consistent with available experimental and observational constraints at both sub-nuclear saturation densities and higher densities. The agreements with ab-initio calculations are also good. Especially, we tune the density dependence of the symmetry energy (characterized by its slope at nuclear saturation $L$) and study its influence on the tidal deformability. The so-called $QMF18$ EOS is named after the case of $L=40~\rm MeV$, and it gives $M_{\rm TOV} =2.08~M_\odot$ and $R= 11.77~\rm km$, $Λ=331$ for a $1.4\,M_\odot$ star. The tidal signals are demonstrated to be insensitive to the uncertain crust-core matching, despite the good correlation between the symmetry energy slope and the radius of the star.

The data also show that $\ln(v_2/\varepsilon_2)$ scales linearly with $\langle \mathrm{N_{ch}} \rangle^{-1/3}$. These measurements provide insight into initial-geometry fluctuations and the role of viscous hydrodynamic attenuation on $v_n$ from small to large collision systems.

The structure of the extremely proton-rich nucleus $^{11}_{~8}$O$_3$, the mirror of the two-neutron halo nucleus $^{11}_{~3}$Li$_8$, has been studied experimentally for the first time. Following two-neutron knockout reactions with a $^{13}$O beam, the $^{11}$O decay products were detected after two-proton emission and used to construct an invariant-mass spectrum. A broad peak of width $\sim$3\,MeV was observed. Within the Gamow coupled-channel approach, it was concluded that this peak is a multiplet with contributions from the four-lowest $^{11}$O resonant states: $J^π$=3/2$^-_1$, 3/2$^-_2$, 5/2$^+_1$, and 5/2$^+_2$. The widths and configurations of these states show strong, non-monotonic dependencies on the depth of the $p$-$^9$C potential. This unusual behavior is due to the presence of a broad threshold resonant state in $^{10}$N, which is an analog of the virtual state in $^{10}$Li in the presence of the Coulomb potential. After optimizing the model to the data, only a moderate isospin asymmetry between ground states of $^{11}$O and $^{11}$Li was found.

Photodisintegration reaction rates involving charged particles are of relevance to the p-process nucleosynthesis that aims at explaining the production of the stable neutron-deficient nuclides heavier than iron. In this study, the cross sections and astrophysical rates of (g,p) and (g,a) reactions for about 3000 target nuclei with 10<Z<100 ranging from stable to proton dripline nuclei are computed. To study the sensitivity of the calculations to the optical model potentials (OMPs), both the phenomenological Woods-Saxon and the microscopic folding OMPs are taken into account. The systematic comparisons show that the reaction rates, especially for the (g,a) reaction, are dramatically influenced by the OMPs. Thus the better determination of the OMP is crucial to reduce the uncertainties of the photodisintegration reaction rates involving charged particles. Meanwhile, a gamma-beam facility at ELI-NP is being developed, which will open new opportunities to experimentally study the photodisintegration reactions of astrophysics interest. Considering both the important reactions identified by the nucleosynthesis studies and the purpose of complementing the experimental results for the reactions involving p-nuclei, the measurements of six (g,p) and eight (g,a) reactions based on the gamma-beam facility at ELI-NP and the ELISSA detector for the charged particles detection are proposed, and the GEANT4 simulations are correspondingly performed. The minimum required energies of the gamma-beam to measure these reactions are estimated. It is shown that the direct measurements of these photonuclear reactions within the Gamow windows at T_9=2.5 for p-process are fairly feasible and promising at ELI-NP. The expected experimental results will be used to constrain the OMPs of the charged particles, which can eventually reduce the uncertainties of the reaction rates for the p-process nucleosynthesis.

We propose the new quark mean-field bag (QMFB) model by incorporating the bag confinement mechanism in the original quark mean-field model. Nuclear matter and neutron star properties are studied with the QMFB model. For the study of the bag effect, we newly fit 12 parameter sets by reproducing the empirical saturation properties of nuclear matter. Quark confinement is found to be mainly demonstrated by the bag after it is included in the model, instead of the confining potential. For nuclear matter, the bag decreases the binding energy and increases the symmetry energy. For neutron star, the bag affects significantly the radius $R$ of a $1.4M_\odot$ star, with the maximum mass only slightly modified. The bag also has a large suppression effect on the well-accepted $R$ vs $L$ dependence, with $L$ the symmetry energy slope at the saturation density.

We study the effects of free space nucleon radius on nuclear matter and neutron stars within the framework of quark mean field model. The nucleon radius is treated self-consistently with this model, where quark confinement is adjusted to fit different values of nucleon radius. Corrections due to center-of-mass motion, quark-pion coupling, and one gluon exchange are included to obtain the nucleon mass in vacuum. The meson coupling constants that describe the behavior of many-body nucleonic system are newly-constructed by reproducing the empirical saturation properties of nuclear matter, including the recent determinations of symmetry energy parameters. Our results show that the nucleon radius in free space have negligible effects on nuclear matter equation of state and neutron star mass-radius relations, which is different from the conclusion drawn in previous studies. We further explore that the sensitivity of star radius on the nucleon radius found in earlier publications is actually from the symmetry energy and its slope.

We propose a new neutron star EOS "QMF18" from the quark level, which describes well robust observational constraints from free-space nucleon, nuclear matter saturation, heavy pulsar measurements and the tidal deformability of the very recent GW170817 observation. For this purpose, we employ the quark-mean-field (QMF) model, allowing one to tune the density dependence of the symmetry energy and study effectively its correlations with the Love number and the tidal deformability. We provide tabulated data for the new EOS and compare it with other recent EOSs from various many-body frameworks.

Binary neutron star (NS) mergers with their subsequent fast-rotating supramassive magnetars are one attractive interpretation for at least some short gamma-ray bursts (SGRBs), based on the internal plateau commonly observed in the early X-ray afterglow. The rapid decay phase in this scenario signifies the epoch when the star collapses to a black hole after it spins down, and could effectively shed light on the underlying unclear equation of state (EoS) of dense matter. In the present work, we confront the protomagnetar masses of the internal plateau sample from representative EoS models, with the one independently from the observed galactic NS-NS binary, aiming to contribute new compact star EoSs from SGRB observations. For this purpose, we employ various EoSs covering a wide range of maximum mass for both NSs and quark stars (QSs), and in the same time satisfying the recent observational constraints of the two massive pulsars whose masses are precisely measured (around $2 M_{\odot}$). We first illustrate that how well the underlying EoS would reconcile with the current posterior mass distribution, is largely determined by the static maximum mass of that EoS. We then construct 3 new postmerger QS EoSs (PMQS1, PMQS2, PMQS3), respecting fully the observed distribution. We also provide easy-to-use parameterizations for both the EoSs and the corresponding maximum gravitational masses of rotating stars. In addition, we calculate the fractions of postmerger products for each EoS, and discuss potential consequences for the magnetar-powered kilonova model.

These measurements provide information on the three-dimensional structure of the initial collision zone and are important for constraining models of a subsequent low-viscosity quark-gluon plasma expansion phase. We investigate correlations between the first, second and third harmonics predicted as a consequence of fluctuations in the initial state. The dependence of the correlations on the pseudorapidity separation between particles show hints of a breaking of longitudinal invariance. We compare our results to a number of state-of-the art hydrodynamic calculations with different initial states and temperature dependent viscosities. These measurements provide important steps towards constraining the temperature dependent transport and the longitudinal structure of the initial state at RHIC.

We present measurements of three-particle correlations for various harmonics in Au+Au collisions at energies ranging from $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}=7.7$ to 200 GeV using the STAR detector. We present measurements of three-particle correlations for various harmonics in Au+Au collisions at energies ranging from $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}=7.7$ to 200 GeV using the STAR detector. The quantity $\langle\cos(mφ_1+nφ_2-(m+n)φ_3)\rangle$ is evaluated as a function of $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$, collision centrality, transverse momentum, $p_T$, pseudo-rapidity difference, $Δη$, and harmonics ($m$ and $n$). These data provide detailed information on global event properties like the three-dimensional structure of the initial overlap region, the expansion dynamics of the matter produced in the collisions, and the transport properties of the medium. A strong dependence on $Δη$ is observed for most harmonic combinations consistent with breaking of longitudinal boost invariance. Data reveal changes with energy in the two-particle correlation functions relative to the second-harmonic event-plane and provide ways to constrain models of heavy-ion collisions over a wide range of collision energies.

The density-dependent relativistic Hartree-Fock (DDRHF) theory is extended to include $Δ$-isobars for the study of dense nuclear matter and neutron stars. To this end, we solve the Rarita-Schwinger equation for spin-3/2 particle. Both the direct and exchange terms of the $Δ$-isobars' self-energies are evaluated in details. In comparison with the relativistic mean field theory (Hartree approximation), a weaker parameter dependence is found for DDRHF. An early appearance of $Δ$-isobars is recognized at $ρ_B\sim0.27$fm$^{-3}$, comparable with that of hyperons. Also, we find that the $Δ$-isobars' softening of the equation of state is found to be mainly due to the reduced Fock contributions from the coupling of the isoscalar mesons, while the pion contributions are found negligibly small. We finally conclude that with typical parameter sets, neutron stars with $Δ$-isobars in their interiors could be as heavy as the two massive pulsars whose masses are precisely measured, with slightly smaller radii than normal neutron stars.

Nuclear single-proton resonances are sensitive to the Coulomb field, while the exchange term of Coulomb field is usually neglected due to its nonlocality. By combining the complex scaling method with the relativistic mean-field model, the influence of the Coulomb exchange term on the single-proton resonances is investigated by taking Sn isotopes and $N=82$ isotones as examples. It is found that the Coulomb exchange term reduces the single-proton resonance energy within the range of $0.4-0.6$ MeV, and lead to similar isotopic and isotonic trends of the resonance energy as those without the Coulomb exchange term. Moreover, the single-proton resonance width is also reduced by the Coulomb exchange term, whose influence generally decreases with the increasing neutron number and increases with the increasing proton number. However, the influence of the Coulomb exchange term cannot change the trend of the resonance width with respect to the neutron number and proton number. Furthermore, the influence of the Coulomb exchange term on the resonance width is investigated for the doubly magic nuclei $^{40}$Ca, $^{56,78}$Ni, $^{100,132}$Sn, and $^{208}$Pb. It is found that the Coulomb exchange term reduces the proton resonance width within $0.2$ MeV, whose magnitude depends on the specific nucleus and the quantum numbers of resonant states.

The radial basis function (RBF) approach is applied in predicting nuclear masses for 8 widely used nuclear mass models, ranging from macroscopic-microscopic to microscopic types. A significantly improved accuracy in computing nuclear masses is obtained, and the corresponding rms deviations with respect to the known masses is reduced by up to 78%. Moreover, strong correlations are found between a target nucleus and the reference nuclei within about three unit in distance, which play critical roles in improving nuclear mass predictions. Based on the latest Weizsäcker-Skyrme mass model, the RBF approach can achieve an accuracy comparable with the extrapolation method used in atomic mass evaluation. In addition, the necessity of new high-precision experimental data to improve the mass predictions with the RBF approach is emphasized as well.

The relationship between deexcitation energies of superdeformed secondary minima relative to ground states and the density dependence of the symmetry energy is investigated for heavy nuclei using the relativistic mean field (RMF) model. It is shown that the deexcitation energies of superdeformed secondary minima are sensitive to differences in the symmetry energy that are mimicked by the isoscalar-isovector coupling included in the model. With deliberate investigations on a few Hg isotopes that have data of deexcitation energies, we find that the description for the deexcitation energies can be improved due to the softening of the symmetry energy. Further, we have investigated deexcitation energies of odd-odd heavy nuclei that are nearly independent of pairing correlations, and have discussed the possible extraction of the constraint on the density dependence of the symmetry energy with the measurement of deexcitation energies of these nuclei.

The isospin dependence of the nucleon effective mass is investigated in the framework of the Dirac Brueckner-Hartree-Fock (DBHF) approach. The definition of nucleon scalar and vector effective masses in the relativistic approach is clarified. Only the vector effective mass is the quantity related to the empirical value extracted from the analysis in the nonrelatiistic shell and optical potentials. In the relativistic mean field theory, where the nucleon scalar and vector potentials are both energy independent, the neutron vector potential is stronger than that of proton in the neutron rich nuclear matter, which produces a smaller neutron vector effective mass than that of proton. It is pointed out that the energy dependence of nucleon potentials has to be considered in the analysis of the isospin dependence of the nucleon effective mass. In the DBHF the neutron vector effective mass is larger than that of proton once the energy dependence of nucleon potentials is considered. The results are consistent with the analysis of phenomenological isospin dependent optical potentials.

The emission of nuclear clusters is investigated within the framework of isospin dependent lattice gas model and classical molecular dynamics model. It is found that the emission of individual cluster which is heavier than proton is almost Poissonian except near the transition temperature at which the system is leaving the liquid-vapor phase coexistence and the thermal scaling is observed by the linear Arrhenius plots which is made from the average multiplicity of each cluster versus the inverse of temperature in the liquid vapor phase coexistence. The slopes of the Arrhenius plots, {\it i.e.} the "emission barriers", are extracted as a function of the mass or charge number and fitted by the formula embodied with the contributions of the surface energy and Coulomb interaction. The good agreements are obtained in comparison with the data for low energy conditional barriers. In addition, the possible influences of the source size, Coulomb interaction and "freeze-out" density and related physical implications are discussed.

Within the framework of an isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics model, the rotational flow in reactions of $^{58}$Fe + $^{58}$Fe and $^{58}$% Ni + $^{58}$Ni at 40 MeV/nucleon for different impact parameters is investigated by analyzing the mid-rapidity azimuthal distribution. The rotational observables are also calculated semiquantitatively. For the first time, it is found that the more neutron-rich system ($^{58}$Fe + $^{58}$Fe) exhibits stronger rotational collective flow. This isospin dependence of rotational collective flow is more appreciable in semi-peripheral collisions and it is shown to mainly result from the isospin dependence of nucleon-nucleon cross section rather than the symmetry energy. Meanwhile, it is indicated that the rotational flow depends strongly on the impact parameter.
