We conducted measurements of $K^- + {^3{\rm He}} \to π\!Y \!N + N'$ reactions using a $1~{\rm GeV}/c$ $K^-$-beam, with the objective of understanding the broad decay width of $\bar{K} \!N \!N$ (approximately twice as broad as that of $Λ(1405)$ considered to be the $\bar{K} \!N$ quasi-bound state). We successfully reproduced distributions of the $π\! Y \! N$ invariant mass and momentum transfer for $π\! Y \! N$ using model fitting functions for $\bar{K} \!N \!N$ formation and quasi-free $\bar{K}$ absorption (${\rm QF}_{\bar{K}-{\rm abs}}$) processes. The model can describe the experimental data quite well, and four $\bar{K} \! N \! N \to π\! Y \! N $ cross-sections were obtained. The results indicate that mesonic decay is the dominant decay branch of $\bar{K} \! N \! N$. The results also suggest that $Γ_{πΛN} \sim Γ_{πΣN}$, which indicates that the $I_{\bar{K} \! N}=1$ absorption channel, in addition to the $I_{\bar{K} \! N}=0$ absorption channel, substantially contribute to the $\bar{K} \! N \! N$ decay, making the $\bar{K} \! N \! N$ state approximately twice as unstable as $Λ$(1405).

The inner fission barriers of the even-even uranium isotopes from the proton to the neutron drip line are studied with the deformed relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov theory in continuum. A periodic evolution for the ground state shapes is shown with the neutron number, i.e., spherical shapes at shell closures $N=$126, 184, 258, and prolate dominated shapes between them. In analogy to the shape evolution, the inner fission barriers also exhibit a periodic behavior: peaks at the shell closures and valleys in the mid-shells. The triaxial effect to the inner fission barrier is evaluated using the triaxial relativistic mean field calculations plus a simple BCS method for pairing. With the triaxial correction included, good consistency in the inner barrier heights is found with the available empirical data. Besides, the evolution from the proton to the neutron drip line is in accord with the results by the multi-dimensionally constrained relativistic mean field theory. A flat valley in the fission barrier height is predicted around the neutron-rich nucleus $^{318}$U which may play a role of fission recycling in the astrophysical $r$-process nucleosynthesis.

A clear signal is observed with a statistical significance of $7.1σ$. The cross section of the reaction $Ξ^0+{^9\rm{Be}}\rightarrowΞ^-+p+{^8\rm{Be}}$ is determined to be $σ(Ξ^0+{^9\rm{Be}}\rightarrowΞ^-+p+{^8\rm{Be}})=(22.1\pm5.3_{\rm{stat}}\pm4.5_{\rm{sys}})$ mb at the $Ξ^0$ momentum of $0.818$ GeV/$c$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. No significant $H$-dibaryon signal is observed in the $Ξ^-p$ final state. This is the first study of hyperon-nucleon interactions in electron-positron collisions and opens up a new direction for such research.

Charged jets are constrained in a relatively low transverse momentum interval 15 $\leq p_{\rm T}^{\rm jet\ ch} <$ 30 GeV/$c$ where the QCD emissions are sensitive to mass effects. In $pp$ collisions, heavy flavor jets have less momentum-balanced splittings than inclusive jets and the larger quark mass is, the less momentum-balanced splittings are. B$^0$-tagged jets distribute at lager $R_g$ than both D$^0$-tagged and inclusive jets, while D$^0$-tagged jets distribute at smaller $R_g$ than inclusive jets. That can be explained by the competition between parton mass effects and flavour effects on splitting-angle distributions. In $A$+$A$ collisions, jet quenching effects further suppress the momentum-balanced splittings and enhance the large-angle splittings. Heavy flavor jets suffer more $z_g$ and less $R_g$ modifications due to jet-medium interactions. The mass hierarchy in $z_g$ of inclusive, D$^0$-tagged, B$^0$-tagged jets and competition between mass effects and Casimir colour factors in $R_g$ can also be observed in PbPb collisions.

A microscopic self-consistent triaxial relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov theory in continuum (TRHBc), which simultaneously takes into account the triaxiality and pairing correlations as well as continuum effects, is established and applied to explore the novel halo phenomenon in aluminum isotopes. The experimental proton drip line and the available data of neutron separation energies and charge radii are reproduced well without any free parameters. The neutron-richest odd-odd aluminum isotope observed so far, 42Al, is predicted to be triaxially deformed with beta=0.35 and gamma=42. Its one-neutron separation energy is predicted to be 0.68 MeV, in agreement with the AME2020, and the neutron rms radius is 3.94 fm, remarkably larger than the empirical value. The density distribution of the valance neutron, which extends much farther in space than the core, suggests a possible neutron halo in 42Al. The dominant components responsible for the spatial extension of the halo are revealed by the single-neutron orbitals around the Fermi energy. A novel phenomenon, the exchange of the intermediate and short axes between the triaxial core with beta=0.38 and gamma=50, and the triaxial halo with beta=0.79 and gamma=-23, is found. Future experiments to explore the halo phenomenon and the novel shape decoupling in 42Al are highly demanded.

We investigate the medium modifications of momentum splitting fraction and groomed jet radius with both dynamical grooming and soft drop algorithms in heavy-ion collisions. In the calculation, the partonic spectrum of initial hard scattering in p+p collisions is provided by the event generator PYTHIA 8, and the energy loss of fast parton traversing in a hot/dense QCD medium is simulated with the Linear Boltzmann Transport (LBT) model. We predict the normalized distributions of the groomed jet radius $θ_g$ and momentum splitting fraction $z_g$ with the dynamical grooming algorithm in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}$ = 5.02 TeV, then compare these quantities in dynamical grooming at $a=0.1$, with that in soft drop at $z_{\mathrm{cut}} = 0.1$ and $β= 0$. It is found that the normalized distribution ratios Pb+Pb/p+p with respect to $z_g$ in $z_{\mathrm{cut}} = 0.1$, $β= 0$ soft drop case are close to unity and those in $a=0.1$ dynamical grooming case show enhancement at small $z_g$, and Pb+Pb/p+p with respect to $θ_g$ in the dynamical grooming case demonstrate weaker modification than those in the soft drop counterparts. We further calculate the groomed jet number averaged momentum splitting fraction $\rm \langle z_g \rangle_{jets}$ and averaged groomed jet radius $\rm \langle θ_g \rangle_{jets}$ in p+p and A+A for both grooming cases in three $p^{\rm ch, jet}_{\rm T}$ intervals, and find that the originally generated well balanced groomed jets will become more momentum imbalanced and less jet size narrowing due to jet quenching, and weaker medium modification of $z_g$ and $θ_g$ in $a =0.1$ dynamical grooming case than in the soft drop counterparts.

The Woods-Saxon basis has achieved great success in both nonrelativistic and covariant density functional theories in recent years. Due to its nonanalytical nature, however, applications of the Woods-Saxon basis are numerically complicated and computationally time consuming. In this paper, based on the deformed relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov theory in continuum (DRHBc), we check in detail the convergence with respect to the basis space in the Dirac sea. An optimized Dirac Woods-Saxon basis is proposed, whose corresponding potential is close to the nuclear mean field. It is shown that the basis space of the optimized Dirac Woods-Saxon basis required for convergence is substantially reduced compared with the original one. In particular, it does not need to contain the bases from continuum in the Dirac sea. The application of the optimized Woods-Saxon basis would greatly reduce computing resource for large-scale density functional calculations.

The production of $π^0$, $η$, and $φ$ in the most central (0%-5%) Xe+Xe collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 5.44 TeV is investigated in the framework of the perturbative QCD (pQCD) improved parton model at an accuracy of next-to-leading order (NLO). The jet quenching effect is effectively incorporated by medium-modified fragmentation functions via the higher-twist approach. Predictions of the nuclear modification factors of $π^0$, $η$, and $φ$ as functions of the transverse momentum $p_{\rm T}$ are made with the jet transport parameter $\hat{q}_0$, which is extracted from the available experimental data of charged hadrons provided by ALICE and CMS. The particle ratios $η/π^0,\ φ/π^0$ as functions of $p_{\rm T}$ in Xe+Xe collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 5.44 TeV as well as in 0%-5% Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV are also presented. The numerical simulations of the scaled ratios of charged hadron production in the Xe+Xe 5.44 TeV system over those in the Pb+Pb 5.02 TeV system give a good description of the CMS data, and the scaled ratios of $π^0$, $η$, and $φ$ production coincide with the curve of charged hadron production.

Transverse momentum spectra of direct (prompt) photons from two-body processes in high-energy proton-proton (p+p) collisions are analyzed in this paper. We collected the experimental invariant cross-sections at mid-rapidity in p+p collisions measured by the UA6, CCOR, R806, R110, PHENIX, NA24, CMS, ALICE, and ATLAS Collaborations over a center-of-mass energy range from 24.3 GeV to 13 TeV. In fitting the data, we used different kinds of functions which include the revised Tsallis--Pareto-type function (the TP-like function) at the particle level, the convolution of two TP-like functions at the quark level, and the root-sum-of-squares of two revised Tsallis-like functions in which the quark chemical potentials $μ_i=μ_B/3$ or $μ_i=0$, where $μ_B$ is the baryon chemical potential. We have extracted the values of three main free parameters: the effective temperature $T$, power index $n_0$ (or entropy index $q$), and correction index $a_0$. After analyzing the changing trends of the parameters, we found that $T$, $q$, and $a_0$ increase and $n_0$ decreases with the increase of collision energy. Based on the analyses of transverse momentum spectra, an energy independent scaling, i.e. the $x_T$ scaling, is obtained.

We observed the simplest kaonic nuclei, $K^-pp$, having a much deeper binding energy than normal nuclei. For further studies, we have proposed a series of experimental programs for the systematic investigation of light kaonic nuclei, from $\bar K N$ ($Λ(1405)$) to $\bar K NNNN$. The undulator line of the Shanghai soft X-ray Free-electron Laser facility (SXFEL) has very tight tolerances on the straightness of the electron beam trajectory. However, the beam trajectory cannot meet the lasing requirements due to the influence of beam position, launch angle and quadrupole offsets. Traditional mechanical alignment can only control the rms of offsets to about 100 $μ$m, which is far from reaching the requirement. Further orbit correction can be achieved by beam-based alignment (BBA) method based on electron energy variations. K modulation is used to determine whether the beam passes through the quadrupole magnetic center, and the Dispersion-Free Steering (DFS) method is used to calculate the offsets of quadrupole and BPM. In this paper, a detailed result of simulation is presented which demonstrates that the beam trajectory with rms and standard deviation ($σ$) less than 10 $μ$m can be obtained.

Nuclear chronometer, which predicts the ages of the oldest stars by comparing the present and initial abundances of long-lived radioactive nuclides, provides an independent dating technique for the cosmos. A new nuclear chronometer called Th-U-X chronometer is proposed, which imposes stringent constraints on the astrophysical conditions in the $r$-process simulation by synchronizing the previous Th/X, U/X and Th/U chronometers. The astrophysical uncertainties of nuclear chronometer are significantly reduced from more than $\pm2$ billion years to within 0:3 billion years by the Th-U-X chronometer. The proposed chronometer is then applied to estimate the ages of the six metal-poor stars with observed uranium abundances, and the predicted ages are compatible with the cosmic age 13.8 billion years predicted from the cosmic microwave background radiation, but in contradictory with the new cosmic age 11.4 billion years from the gravitational lenses measurement.

Possible bound nuclei beyond the two-neutron drip line in the $50\leqslant Z \leqslant 70$ region are investigated by using the deformed relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov theory in continuum with density functional PC-PK1. Bound nuclei beyond the drip lines of $_{56}$Ba, $_{58}$Ce, $_{62}$Sm, $_{64}$Gd and $_{66}$Dy are predicted, forming peninsulas of stability in nuclear landscape. Near these peninsulas, several multi-neutron emitters are predicted. The underlying mechanism of the peninsulas of stability is investigated by studying the total energy, Fermi surface, quadrupole deformation and the single-neutron spectrum in the canonical basis. It is found that the deformation effect is crucial for forming the peninsulas of stability, and pairing correlations are also essential in specific cases. The dependence on the deformation evolution is also discussed. The decay rates of multi-neutron radioactivity in Ba and Sm isotopic chains are estimated by using the direct decay model.

New transitions in neutron rich $^{100}$Y have been identified in a $^9$Be+$^{238}$U experiment with mass- and Z- gates to provide full fragment identification. These transitions and high spin levels of $^{100}$Y have been investigated by analyzing the high statistics $γ$-$γ$-$γ$ and $γ$-$γ$-$γ$-$γ$ coincidence data from the spontaneous fission of $^{252}$Cf at the Gammasphere detector array. Two new bands, 14 new levels and 23 new transitions have been identified. The $K^π=4^+$ new band decaying to an 1s isomeric state is assigned to be the high-$K$ Gallagher-Moszkowski (GM) partner of the known $K^π=1^+$ band, with the $π5/2[522] \otimes ν3/2[411]$ configuration. This 4$^+$ band is also proposed to be the pseudo spin partner of the new $K^π=5^+$ band with a 5$^{+}$ $π5/2[422] \otimes ν5/2[413]$ configuration, to form a $π5/2[422] \otimes ν[312$ $5/2,3/2]$ neutron pseudospin doublet. Constrained triaxial covariant density functional theory and quantal particle rotor model calculations have been applied to interpret the band structure and available electromagnetic transition probabilities and are found in good agreement with experimental values.

In principle, the precession of an atomic nuclide can be approximately described as wobbling motion, arising from the coupling of a rotation and a harmonic vibration. Recently, a number of wobbling bands were reported at low spin, which violate the wobbling approximation that can be valid only at high spin. Here we explore the nature of the reported low-spin wobbling bands. Via a new experiment, we demonstrate that one such band in $^{187}$Au is generated by dominant single-particle excitation rather than by the excitation of a wobbling phonon. We point out that the imperfect research paradigm used previously would lead to unreliable identification of low-spin wobbling bands. Consequently, new experimental approaches should be developed to distinguish among the different excitation mechanisms that can give rise to the observed low-spin bands in odd-even nuclei.

We report a study of the processes of $e^+e^-\to K^+ (D_s^- D^{*0} + D^{*-}_s D^0)$ based on $e^+e^-$ annihilation samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at BEPCII at five center-of-mass energies ranging from 4.628 to 4.698 GeV with a total integrated luminosity of 3.7 fb$^{-1}$. An excess over the known contributions of the conventional charmed mesons is observed near the $D_s^- D^{*0}$ and $D^{*-}_s D^0$ mass thresholds in the $K^{+}$ recoil-mass spectrum for events collected at $\sqrt{s}=4.681$ GeV. The structure matches a mass-dependent-width Breit-Wigner line shape, whose pole mass and width are determined as $(3982.5^{+1.8}_{-2.6}\pm2.1)$ MeV/$c^2$ and $(12.8^{+5.3}_{-4.4}\pm3.0)$ MeV, respectively. The first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. The significance of the resonance hypothesis is estimated to be 5.3 $σ$ over the contributions only from the conventional charmed mesons. This is the first candidate of the charged hidden-charm tetraquark with strangeness, decaying into $D_s^- D^{*0}$ and $D^{*-}_s D^0$. However, the properties of the excess need further exploration with more statistics.

A new symmetry for an ideal ChP violation system is found and the corresponding selection rules of the electromagnetic transitions are derived. The fingerprints for the ChP violation including the nearly degenerate quartet bands and the selection rules of the electromagnetic transitions are provided. These fingerprints are examined for ChP quartet bands by taking a two-$j$ shell $h_{11/2}$ and $d_{5/2}$ with typical energy spacing for $A=$ 130 nuclei.

A feed-forward neural network model is trained to calculate the nuclear charge radii. The model trained with input data set of proton and neutron number $Z,N$, the electric quadrupole transition strength $B(E2)$ from the first excited 2$^+$ state to the ground state, together with the symmetry energy. The model reproduces well not only the isotope dependence of charge radii, but also the kinks of charge radii at the neutron magic numbers $N=82$ for Sn and Sm isotopes, and also $N=126$ for Pb isotopes. The important role of $B(E2)$ value is pointed out to reproduce the kink of the isotope dependence of charge radii in these nuclei. Moreover, with the inclusion of the symmetry energy term in the inputs, the charge radii of Ca isotopes are well reproduced. This result suggests a new correlation between the symmetry energy and charge radii of Ca isotopes. The Skyrme HFB calculation is performed to confirm the existence of this correlation in a microscopic model.

We present the first theoretical study of medium modifications of the global geometrical pattern, i.e., transverse sphericity ($S_{\perp}$) distribution of jet events with parton energy loss in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. In our investigation, POWHEG+PYTHIA is employed to make an accurate description of transverse sphericity in the p+p baseline, which combines the next-to-leading order (NLO) pQCD calculations with the matched parton shower (PS). The Linear Boltzmann Transport (LBT) model of the parton energy loss is implemented to simulate the in-medium evolution of jets. We calculate the event normalized transverse sphericity distribution in central Pb+Pb collisions at the LHC, and give its medium modifications. An enhancement of transverse sphericity distribution at small $S_{\perp}$ region but a suppression at large $S_{\perp}$ region are observed in A+A collisions as compared to their p+p references, which indicates that in overall the geometry of jet events in Pb+Pb becomes more pencil-like. We demonstrate that for events with 2 jets in the final-state of heavy-ion collisions, the jet quenching makes the geometry more sphere-like with medium-induced gluon radiation. However, for events with $\ge 3$~jets, parton energy loss in the QCD medium leads to the events more pencil-like due to jet number reduction, where less energetic jets may lose their energies and then fall off the jet selection kinematic cut. These two effects offset each other and in the end result in more jetty events in heavy-ion collisions relative to that in p+p.

The configuration mixing along the rotational bands is studied by analyzing the intrinsic composition of the eigenfunctions. The chiral geometry of these nearly degenerate bands is examined by the \textit{K plot} and the \textit{azimuthal plot}, and the evolution from the chiral vibration to the static chirality with spin is clearly demonstrated for four pairs of partner bands. From the features in the \textit{azimuthal plot}, it is difficult to interpret the other candidate as chiral partners.

The calculated excited energies, energy staggering parameters, and $B(M1)/B(E2)$ ratios are in a reasonable agreement with the data of the chiral doublet bands with positive- and negative-parity. The influence of the triaxial deformation $γ$ on the calculated $B(E1)$ is found to be significant. By changing $γ$ from 16$^\circ$ to 21$^\circ$, the $B(E1)$ values will be enhanced and better agreement with the $B(E1)/B(E2)$ data is achieved. The chiral geometry based on the angular momenta for the rotor, the valence proton and valence neutron is discussed in details.

Two bands built on this configuration show the characteristics of transverse wobbling: the $Δ$$I$=1 transitions between them have a predominant E2 component and the wobbling energy decreases with increasing spin. The properties of the observed wobbling bands are in good agreement with theoretical results obtained using constrained triaxial covariant density functional theory and quantum particle rotor model calculations. This provides the first experimental evidence for transverse wobbling bands based on a one-neutron configuration, and also represents the first observation of wobbling motion in the $A$$\sim$100 mass region.

The $x$-dependence of light-cone distribution amplitude (LCDA) can be directly calculated from a quasi distribution amplitude (DA) in lattice QCD within the framework of large-momentum effective theory (LaMET). In this paper, we study the one-loop renormalization of the quasi-DA in the regularization-independent momentum subtraction (RI/MOM) scheme. The renormalization factor for the quasi parton distribution function can be used to renormalize the quasi-DA provided that they are implemented on lattice and in perturbation theory in the same manner. We derive the one-loop matching coefficient that matches quasi-DA in the RI/MOM scheme onto LCDA in the $\overline{\rm MS}$ scheme. Our result provides the crucial step to extract the LCDAs from lattice matrix elements of quasi-DAs.

For a system with one $h_{11/2}$ proton particle and one $h_{11/2}$ neutron hole coupled to a triaxial rotor ($γ=-30^\circ$), the intraband electromagnetic transitions given by the one-dimensional and two-dimensional collective Hamiltonian are compared to the results by the tilted axis cranking approach and particle rotor model. Compared with the tilted axis cranking approach, the electromagnetic transitions given by the collective Hamiltonian have a better agreement with those by the particle rotor model, due to the consideration of the quantum fluctuations.

In the lattice simulation, we use a Gaussian-momentum-smeared source at $M_π=356$ MeV and $P_z \in \{1.8,2.3\}$ GeV. To control the systematics associated with the excited states, we explore {five different source-sink separations}. The nonperturbative renormalization is conducted in a regularization-independent momentum subtraction scheme, and the matching between the renormalized quasi-PDF and $\bar{\rm MS}$ PDF is calculated based on perturbative QCD up to one-loop order. Systematic errors due to renormalization and perturbative matching are also analyzed in detail. Our results for lightcone PDF are in reasonable agreement with the latest phenomenological analysis.

The stability of the linear chain structure of three $α$ clusters for $^{12}$C against the bending and fission is investigated in the cranking covariant density functional theory, in which the equation of motion is solved on a 3D lattice with the inverse Hamiltonian and the Fourier spectral methods. Starting from a twisted three $α$ initial configuration, it is found that the linear chain structure is stable when the rotational frequency is within the range of $\sim$2.0 MeV to $\sim$2.5 MeV. Beyond this range, the final states are not stable against fission. By examining the density distributions and the occupation of single-particle levels, however, these fissions are found to arise from the occupation of unphysical continuum with large angular momenta. To properly remove these unphysical continuum, a dam** function for the cranking term is introduced. Eventually, the stable linear chain structure could survive up to the rotational frequency $\sim$3.5 MeV, but the fission still occurs when the rotational frequency approaches to $\sim$4.0 MeV.

The shell-model-like approach is implemented to treat the cranking many-body Hamiltonian based on the covariant density functional theory including pairing correlations with exact particle number conservation. The self-consistency is achieved by iterating the single-particle occupation probabilities back to the densities and currents. As an example, the rotational structures observed in the neutron-rich nucleus $^{60}$Fe are investigated and analyzed. Without introducing any \emph{ad hoc} parameters, the bandheads, the rotational spectra, and the relations between the angular momentum and rotational frequency for the positive parity band A, and negative parity bands B and C are well reproduced. The essential role of the pairing correlations is revealed. It is found that for band A, the bandcrossing is due to the change of the last two occupied neutrons from the $1f_{5/2}$ signature partners to the $1g_{9/2}$ signature partners. For the two negative parity signature partner bands B and C, the bandcrossings are due to the pseudo-crossing between the $1f_{7/2,~5/2}$ and the $1f_{5/2,~1/2}$ orbitals. Generally speaking, the deformation parameters $β$ for bands A, B, and C decrease with rotational frequency. For band A, the deformation jumps from $β\sim0.19$ to $β\sim0.29$ around the bandcrossing. In comparison with its signature partner band C, band B exhibits appreciable triaxial deformation.

With properly selected Skyrme interactions that include the tensor terms, and the $T=0$ pairing interaction, the experimental $β^+$/EC decay half-lives of these nuclei can be systematically reproduced quite well. It is shown that the tensor and $T=0$ pairing interactions play different roles in different nuclei. The specific effect is relevant to the configurations that contribute to the decay. The attractive and repulsive properties of tensor interaction for the GT state is also studied. The present results indicate that it works repulsively on the GT states dominated by the configurations from $πj_\gtrless$ to $νj_\gtrless$ orbits, while working attractively for those mainly composed of the configurations from $πj_\gtrless$ to $νj_\lessgtr$ orbits.

The observed energy spectra and electromagnetic transition probabilities are reproduced well without introducing any parameter. The orientation of the angular momentum in the intrinsic frame is investigated by the distributions of its components on the three principle axes as well as those of its tilted angles. The evolution of the chirality with spin is illustrated and the chiral geometry is demonstrated in the angular momentum projected model for the first time.

The dependence of FWHM on temperature has also been discussed. Some comparisons with experimental data have been presented.

The ground-state properties of nuclei with 8 $\le$ Z $\le$ 120 from the proton drip line to the neutron drip line have been investigated using the relativistic continuum Hartree-Bogoliubov (RCHB) theory with the relativistic density functional PC-PK1. With the effects of the continuum included, there are totally 9035 nuclei predicted to be bound, which largely extends the existing nuclear landscapes predicted with other methods. The calculated binding energies, separation energies, neutron and proton Fermi surfaces, root-mean-square (rms) radii of neutron, proton, matter, and charge distributions, ground-state spins and parities are tabulated. The extension of the nuclear landscape obtained with RCHB is discussed in detail, in particular for the neutron-rich side, in comparison with the relativistic mean field calculations without pairing correlations and also other predicted landscapes. It is found that the coupling between the bound states and the continuum due to the pairing correlations plays an essential role in extending the nuclear landscape. The systematics of the separation energies, radii, densities, potentials and pairing energies of the RCHB calculations are also discussed. In addition, the alpha-decay energies and proton emitters based on the RCHB calculations are investigated.

The quenching of the experimental spectroscopic factor for proton emission from the short-lived $d_{3/2}$ isomeric state in $^{151m}$Lu was a long-standing problem. In the present work, proton emission from this isomer has been reinvestigated in an experiment at the Accelerator Laboratory of the University of Jyväskylä. The proton-decay energy and half-life of this isomer were measured to be 1295(5) keV and 15.4(8) $μ$s, respectively, in agreement with another recent study. These new experimental data can resolve the discrepancy in the spectroscopic factor calculated using the spherical WKB approximation. Using the R-matrix approach it is found that the proton formation probability indicates no significant hindrance for the proton decay of $^{151m}$Lu.

The fully self-consistent Hartree-Fock (HF) plus random phase approximation (RPA) based on Skyrme-type interaction is used to study the existence problem of proton semi-bubble structure in the $2_1^+$ state of $^{34}$Si. The experimental excitation energy and the B(E2) strength of the $2_1^+$ state in $^{34}$Si can be reproduced quite well. The tensor effect is also studied. It is shown that the tensor interaction has a notable impact on the excitation energy of the $2_1^+$ state and a small effect on the B(E2) value. Besides, its effect on the density distributions in the ground and $2_1^+$ state of $^{34}$Si is negligible. Our present results with T36 and T44 show that the $2_1^+$ state of $^{34}$Si is mainly caused by proton transiton from $π1d_{5/2}$ orbit to $π2s_{1/2}$ orbit, and the existence of a proton semi-bubble structure in this state is very unlikely.

A new method to solve the Dirac equation on a 3D lattice is proposed, in which the variational collapse problem is avoided by the inverse Hamiltonian method and the fermion doubling problem is avoided by performing spatial derivatives in momentum space with the help of the discrete Fourier transform, i.e., the spectral method. This method is demonstrated in solving the Dirac equation for a given spherical potential in 3D lattice space. In comparison with the results obtained by the shooting method, the differences in single particle energy are smaller than $10^{-4}$~MeV, and the densities are almost identical, which demonstrates the high accuracy of the present method. The results obtained by applying this method without any modification to solve the Dirac equations for an axial deformed, non-axial deformed, and octupole deformed potential are provided and discussed.

The recently reported wobbling bands in $^{135}$Pr are investigated by the collective Hamiltonian, in which the collective parameters, including the collective potential and the mass parameter, are respectively determined from the tilted axis cranking (TAC) model and the harmonic frozen alignment (HFA) formula. It is shown that the experimental energy spectra of both yrast and wobbling bands are well reproduced by the collective Hamiltonian. It is confirmed that the wobbling mode in $^{135}$Pr changes from transverse to longitudinal with the rotational frequency. The mechanism of this transition is revealed by analyzing the effective moments of inertia of the three principal axes, and the corresponding variation trend of the wobbling frequency is determined by the softness and shapes of the collective potential.

The proton-proton momentum correlation functions ($C_{pp}(q)$) for kinematically complete decay channels of $^{23}$Al $\rightarrow$ p + p + $^{21}$Na and $^{22}$Mg $\rightarrow$ p + p + $^{20}$Ne have been measured at the RIKEN RI Beam Factory. From the very different correlation strength of $C_{pp}(q)$ for $^{23}$Al and $^{22}$Mg, the source size and emission time information were extracted from the $C_{pp}(q)$ data by assuming a Gaussian source profile in the correlation function calculation code (CRAB). The results indicated that the mechanism of two-proton emission from $^{23}$Al was mainly sequential emission, while that of $^{22}$Mg was mainly three-body simultaneous emission. By combining our earlier results of the two-proton relative momentum and the opening angle, it is pointed out that the mechanism of two-proton emission could be distinguished clearly.

A two-dimensional collective Hamiltonian (2DCH) on both azimuth and polar motions in triaxial nuclei is proposed to investigate the chiral and wobbling modes. In the 2DCH, the collective potential and the mass parameters are determined from three-dimensional tilted axis cranking (TAC) calculations. The broken chiral and signature symmetries in the TAC solutions are restored by the 2DCH. The validity of the 2DCH is illustrated with a triaxial rotor ($γ=-30^\circ$) coupling to one $h_{11/2}$ proton particle and one $h_{11/2}$ neutron hole. By diagonalizing the 2DCH, the angular momenta and energy spectra are obtained. These results agree with the exact solutions of the particle rotor model (PRM) at high rotational frequencies. However, at low frequencies, the energies given by the 2DCH are larger than those by the PRM due to the underestimation of the mass parameters. In addition, with increasing angular momentum, the transitions from the chiral vibration to chiral rotation and further to longitudinal wobbling motion have been presented in the 2DCH.

The five-dimensional collective Hamiltonian based on the covariant density functional theory is applied to investigate the observed tidal wave mode in the yrast band of $^{102}$Pd. The energy spectra, the relations between the spin and the rotational frequency, and the ratios of $B(E2)/\mathcal{J}(I)$ in the yrast band are well reproduced by introducing the empirical $ab$ formula for the moments of inertia. This $ab$ formula is related to the fourth order effect of collective momentum in the collective Hamiltonian. It is also shown that the shape evolution in the tidal wave is determined microscopically by the competition between the rotational kinetic energy and the collective potential in the framework of the collective Hamiltonian.

It is also discussed how the $α$ cluster degree of freedom affects nuclear collective vibrations. The cluster configurations in $^{12}$C and $^{16}$O are found to have corresponding characteristic spectra of giant dipole resonance (GDR), and the coherences of different $α$ clusters's dipole oscillation are described in details. The geometrical and dynamical symmetries of $α$-clustering configurations are responsible for the number and centroid energies of peaks of GDR spectra. Therefore, the GDR can be regarded as an effective probe to diagnose different $α$ cluster configurations in light nuclei.

The observed data for Band 3 and Band 4 are reproduced well with two assigned configurations. It is found that both bands correspond to a rotation of antimagnetic character, but, due to the presence of considerable deformation, the interplay between antimag- netic rotation and collective motion plays an essential role. In particular for Band 4, collective rotation is dominant in the competition with antimagnetic rotation. Moreover, it is shown that the behavior of the ratios between the dynamic moments of inertia and the B(E2) values reflects the interplay between antimagnetic and collective rotation.

For the first time, the tilted axis cranking covariant density functional theory with pairing correlations has been formulated and implemented in a fully self-consistent and microscopic way to investigate the evolution of the spin axis and the pairing effects in rotating triaxial nuclei. The measured energy spectrum and transition probabilities for the Nd-135 yrast band are reproduced well without any ad hoc renormalization factors when pairing effects are taken into account. A transition from collective to chiral rotation has been demonstrated. It is found that pairing correlations introduce additional admixtures in the single-particle orbitals, and, thus, influence the structure of tilted axis rotating nuclei by reducing the magnitude of the proton and neutron angular momenta while merging their direction.
