A study of the fine-structure constant dependence of radiative capture in Halo-EFT
Abstract: We study the fine-structure constant dependence of the rates of some selected radiative capture reactions within the framework of so-called Halo Effective Field Theory in order to assess the adequacy of some assumptions made on the Coulomb penetrability. We find that this dependence deviates from that implied by a parameterization of the cross sections of this effect via a simple penetration facto… ▽ More

The electromagnetic fine-structure constant in primordial nucleosynthesis revisited
Abstract: We study the dependence of the primordial nuclear abundances as a function of the electromagnetic fine-structure constant $α$, kee** all other fundamental constants fixed. We update the leading nuclear reaction rates, in particular the electromagnetic contribution to the neutron-proton mass difference pertinent to $β$-decays, and go beyond certain approximations made in the literature. In partic… ▽ More

Probing nuclear observables via primordial nucleosynthesis
Abstract: We study the dependence of primordial nuclear abundances on fundamental nuclear observables such as binding energies, scattering lengths, neutron lifetime, \textit{etc.} by varying these quantities. The numerical computations were performed with four publicly available codes, thus facilitating an investigation of the model-dependent (systematic) uncertainties on these dependences. Indeed deviation… ▽ More

Mixing of the low-lying three- and five-quark $Ω$ states with negative parity

Convergence Properties of the Effective Theory for Trapped Bosons
Abstract: We investigate few-boson systems with resonant interactions in a narrow harmonic trap within an effective theory framework. The size of the model space is identified with the effective theory cutoff. In the universal regime, the interactions of the bosons can be approximated by contact interactions. We investigate the convergence properties of genuine and smeared contact interactions as the size o… ▽ More

Effects of a spin-flavour dependent interaction on light-flavoured baryon helicity amplitudes
Abstract: This paper is a continuation of previous work about the effects of a phenomenological flavour dependent force in a relativistically covariant constituent quark model based on the Salpeter equation on the structure of light-flavoured baryon resonances. Here the longitudinal and transverse helicity amplitudes as studied experimentally in the electro-excitation of nucleon- and $Δ$ resonances are calc… ▽ More

Effects of a spin-flavour dependent interaction on the baryon mass spectrum
Abstract: The effective quark interaction in a relativistically covariant constituent quark model based on the Salpeter equation is supplemented by an extra phenomenological flavour dependent force in order to account for some discrepancies mainly in the description of excited negative parity Delta resonances. Simultaneously an improved description of some other features of the light-flavoured baryon mass s… ▽ More

Universal few-body physics in a harmonic trap
Abstract: Few-body systems with resonant short-range interactions display universal properties that do not depend on the details of their structure or their interactions at short distances. In the three-body system, these properties include the existence of a geometric spectrum of three-body Efimov states and a discrete scaling symmetry. Similar universal properties appear in 4-body and possibly higher-body… ▽ More

Helicity amplitudes and electromagnetic decays of strange baryon resonances
Abstract: We present results for the helicity amplitudes of the lowest-lying hyperon resonances Y*, computed within the framework of the Bonn constituent-quark model, which is based on the Bethe-Salpeter approach. The seven parameters entering the model are fitted against the best known baryon masses. Accordingly, the results for the helicity amplitudes are genuine predictions. Some hyperon resonances are… ▽ More

Electromagnetic form factors of hyperons in a relativistic quark model
Abstract: The relativistically covariant constituent quark model developed by the Bonn group is used to compute the EM form factors of strange baryons. We present form-factor results for the ground-state and some excited hyperons. The computed magnetic moments agree well with the experimental values and the magnetic form factors follow a dipole $Q^2$ dependence.

Electric and magnetic form factors of strange baryons
Abstract: Predictions for the electromagnetic form factors of the Lambda$, Sigma and Xi hyperons are presented. The numerical calculations are performed within the framework of the fully relativistic constituent-quark model developed by the Bonn group. Bound $q^2\bar q^2$ states in a constituent quark model
Abstract: We consider the existence of bound systems consisting of two quarks and two antiquarks ($q^2\bar q^2$) within the framework of a constituent quark model. The underlying quark dynamics is described by a linear confinement potential and an effective $q^2\bar q^2$ interaction which has its origin in instanton effects of QCD. We calculate the spectra and examine the internal structure of the states… ▽ More

Electromagnetic Meson Form Factors in the Salpeter Model
Abstract: We present a covariant scheme to calculate mesonic transitions in the framework of the Salpeter equation for $q\bar{q}$-states. The full Bethe Salpeter amplitudes are reconstructed from equal time amplitudes which were obtained in a previous paper\cite{Mue} by solving the Salpeter equation for a confining plus an instanton induced interaction. This method is applied to calculate electromagnetic… ▽ More

A Bethe-Salpeter model for light mesons: spectra and decays
Abstract: The spectra and electroweak decay properties of light mesons are analyzed within the framework of the instantaneous Bethe-Salpeter equation. The interaction kernel comprises alternative spin-structures for a parameterization of confinement and a residual quark-antiquark interaction based on instanton effects. It is shown that only with a vector confinement the parameters can be chosen such as to… ▽ More

Abstract: We investigate the structure of the instantaneous Bethe-Salpeter equation for \(q\bar{q}\)-bound states in the general case of unequal quark masses and develop a numerical scheme for the calculation of mass spectra and Bethe-Salpeter amplitudes. In order to appreciate the merits of the various competing models beyond the reproduction of the mass spectra we present explicit formulas to calculate… ▽ More
