In this work a rotating SU(2) gluon system have been studied with the dyon ensemble in dilute limit. By solving the rotation-modified Yang-Mills equation we have obtained rotational corrections to the so-called dyon solutions with arbitrary centers to $\mathcal{O}(ω^2)$ order and the corresponding semi-classical potential. The radial position dependent deconfinement temperature have been obtained by minimizing the semi-classical potential in both real and imaginary angular velocity cases. Although without the $ω$-dependent coupling constant the critical temperature behaves different from the lattice simulation at each radial position as the rotation goes faster, its radial dependence is qualitatively the same as the lattice. That is in the real velocity case the outer layer will deconfine more difficult while the reverse is true in the imaginary velocity case.

In this work the non-abelian gauge theory is reformulated in a local inertial frame with the presence of a background rotation. With this new formalism the influence of the background rotation on the color deconfinement transition for a SU(2) pure gluon system. The KvBLL caloron, which is a color neutral and asymptotically nontrivial solution of Yang-Mills equation at finite temperature, is adopted to confine the color charges. With new solutions of the caloron's constituent particles, i.e. dyons, the semi-classical potential, which confines color charges, and the perturbative potential, induced by the Gaussian fluctuation, have been obtained for this system under rotation. By solving the critical temperature of confinement-deconfinement phase transition in different computation schemes, it is found that neither the rotational semi-classical potential nor Gaussian fluctuations can confine color charges more tightly when the rotation becomes faster. While only a stronger coupling constant is able to make the critical temperature increasing with angular velocity, as that indicated in lattice simulations. And it is also found with some particular sets of parameters, a non-monotonic dependence of the critical temperature will be obtained in the most physically realistic case, in which all the three factors are taken into account.

Gluon interaction introduces remarkable corrections to the magnetic polarization effects on the chiral fermions, which is known as the inverse magnetic catalysis. It is a natural speculation that the vorticity, which has many similar properties as magnetic field, would bring non-negligible contribution to the chiral rotational suppression. Using the intuitive semi-classical background field method we studied the rotation dependence of the effective strong interaction coupling. Contrary to the magnetic field case the rotation increases the effective coupling which leads to slowing down the condensate melting procedure with temperature. This could be named as the chiral vortical catalysis or inverse rotation suppression. Imposing such dependence to the coupling in the NJL model, we numerically checked this analysis qualitatively. The pseudo critical temperature is shown to rise with the rotation and approach saturation eventually which may be induced by the model cutoff.

A strong background field will change the vacuum structure and the proper basis of a system drastically in both classical and quantum mechanics, e.g. the Landau levels in a background magnetic field. The situation is the same for the rotating case. In such a system the usual set of plane-wave states would no longer be suitable as a starting point of perturbation. Alternatively and straightforwardly in a rapidly and globally rotating system, it is better to reformulate the perturbation computation in principle. In this work we will complete the first step for the spin-1 field, which includes solving the Proca equation in present of a background rotation and complete its canonical quantization. It will be shown that because of the symmetry the eigen states are actually the same as the ones of Maxwell equations in cylindrical coordinate. The propagator as well as the near-central approximation will be obtained by considering the vorticity areas are so small in the relativistic QGP.

In the present paper, we study the effect of the rotation on the masses of scalar meson as well as vector meson in the framework of 2-flavor Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model. The existence of rotation causes a tedious quark propagator and corresponding polarization function. Applying the random phase approximation, the meson mass is calculated numerically. It is found that the behavior of scalar and pseudoscalar meson masses under the angular velocity $ω$ is similar to that at finite chemical potential, both rely on the behavior of constituent quark mass and reflect the property related to the chiral symmetry. However, masses of vector meson $ρ$ have more profound relation with rotation. After tedious calculation, it turns out that at low temperature and small chemical potenial, the mass for spin component $s_z=0,\pm 1$ of vector meson under rotation shows very simple mass splitting relation $m_ρ^{s_z}(ω)=m_ρ(ω=0)-ωs_z$, similar to the Zeeman splitting of charged meson under magnetic fields. Especially it is noticed that the mass of spin component $s_z=1$ vector meson $ρ$ decreases linearly with $ω$ and reaches zero at $ω_c=m_ρ(ω=0)$, this indicates the system will develop $s_z=1$ vector meson condensation and the system will be spontaneously spin polarized under rotation.

An excess over the known contributions of the conventional charmed mesons is observed near the $D_s^- D^{*0}$ and $D^{*-}_s D^0$ mass thresholds in the $K^{+}$ recoil-mass spectrum for events collected at $\sqrt{s}=4.681$ GeV. The structure matches a mass-dependent-width Breit-Wigner line shape, whose pole mass and width are determined as $(3982.5^{+1.8}_{-2.6}\pm2.1)$ MeV/$c^2$ and $(12.8^{+5.3}_{-4.4}\pm3.0)$ MeV, respectively. The first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. The significance of the resonance hypothesis is estimated to be 5.3 $σ$ over the contributions only from the conventional charmed mesons. This is the first candidate of the charged hidden-charm tetraquark with strangeness, decaying into $D_s^- D^{*0}$ and $D^{*-}_s D^0$. However, the properties of the excess need further exploration with more statistics.

In this work the existence of Borromean states has been discussed for bosonic and fermionic cases in both the relativistic and non-relativistic limits from the 3-momentum shell renormalization. With the linear bosonic model we checked the existence of Efimov-like states in the bosonic system. In both limits a geometric series of singularities are found in the 3-boson interaction vertex, while the energy ratio is reduced by around 70\% in the relativistic limit because of the anti-particle contribution. Motivated by the quark-diquark model in heavy baryon studies, we have carefully examined the p-wave quark-diquark interaction and found an isolated Borromean pole at finite energy scale. This may indicate a special baryonic state of light quarks in high energy quark matters. In other cases trivial results are obtained as expected. In relativistic limit, for both bosonic and fermionic cases, potential Borromean states are independent of the mass, which means the results would be valid even in zero-mass limit as well.

We discuss a novel QCD-assisted transport approach based on non-equilibrium chiral fluid dynamics and the effective action of low energy QCD. In this framework, we study the time-evolution of fluctuation measures of the critical mode, notably the kurtosis, for a non-expanding system. From this, we can estimate the equilibration times of critical mode fluctuations in the QCD phase diagram. These allow us to identify both the phase boundary and the critical region near the QCD critical point.

Recently there has been significant interest in understanding the macroscopic quantum transport in a many-body system of chiral fermions. A natural framework for describing such a system which is generally out of equilibrium, is the transport equation for its phase space distribution function. In this paper, we obtain a complete solution of the covariant chiral transport for massless fermions, by starting from the general Wigner function formalism and carrying out a complete and consistent semiclassical expansion up to $\hat{\mathbf{O}}(\hbar)$ order. In particular, we clarify certain subtle and confusing issues surrounding the Lorentz non-invariance and frame dependence associated with the 3D chiral kinetic theory. We prove that such frame dependence is uniquely and completely fixed by an unambiguous definition of the $\hat{\mathbf{O}}(\hbar)$ correction to the distribution function in each reference frame.

Chiral Magnetic Effect (CME) is the macroscopic manifestation of the fundamental chiral anomaly in a many-body system of chiral fermions, and emerges as anomalous transport current in hydrodynamic framework. Experimental observation of CME is of great interest and significant efforts have been made to look for its signals in heavy ion collisions. Encouraging evidence of CME-induced charge separation has been reported from both RHIC and LHC, albeit with ambiguity due to potential background contributions. Crucial for addressing such issue, is the need of quantitative predictions for both CME signal and the non-CME background consistently, with sophisticated modeling tool. In this contribution we report a recently developed Anomalous Viscous Fluid Dynamics (AVFD) framework, which simulates the evolution of fermion currents in QGP on top of the data-validated VISHNU bulk hydro evolution. In particular, this framework has been extended to event-by-event simulations with proper implementation of known flow-driven background contributions. Chiral anomaly is a fundamental aspect of quantum theories with chiral fermions. How such microscopic anomaly manifests itself in a macroscopic many-body system with chiral fermions, is a highly nontrivial question that has recently attracted significant interest. As it turns out, unusual transport currents can be induced by chiral anomaly under suitable conditions in such systems, with the notable example of the Chiral Magnetic Effect (CME) where a vector current (e.g. electric current) is generated along an external magnetic field. A lot of efforts have been made to search for CME in heavy ion collisions, by measuring the charge separation effect induced by the CME transport. A crucial challenge in such effort, is the quantitative prediction for the CME signal. In this paper, we develop the Anomalous-Viscous Fluid Dynamics (AVFD) framework, which implements the anomalous fluid dynamics to describe the evolution of fermion currents in QGP, on top of the neutral bulk background described by the VISH2+1 hydrodynamic simulations for heavy ion collisions. With this new tool, we quantitatively and systematically investigate the dependence of the CME signal to a series of theoretical inputs and associated uncertainties. With realistic estimates of initial conditions and magnetic field lifetime, the predicted CME signal is quantitatively consistent with measured change separation data in 200GeV Au-Au collisions. Based on analysis of Au-Au collisions, we further make predictions for the CME observable to be measured in the planned isobaric (Ru-Ru v.s. Zr-Zr ) collision experiment, which could provide a most decisive test of the CME in heavy ion collisions.

One of the most interesting predictions resulting from quantum physics, is the violation of classical symmetries, collectively referred to as anomalies. A remarkable class of anomalies occurs when the continuous scale symmetry of a scale free quantum system is broken into a discrete scale symmetry for a critical value of a control parameter. This is an example of a (zero temperature) quantum phase transition. Such an anomaly takes place for the quantum inverse square potential known to describe 'Efimov physics'. Broken continuous scale symmetry into discrete scale symmetry also appears for a charged and massless Dirac fermion in an attractive $1/r$ Coulomb potential. The purpose of this article is to demonstrate the universality of this quantum phase transition and to present convincing experimental evidence of its existence for a charged and massless fermion in an attractive Coulomb potential as realised in graphene.

Experimental observation of CME is of great interest and has been reported in Dirac and Weyl semimetals. Significant efforts have also been made to look for CME in heavy ion collisions. While it is widely perceived that confinement may arise from chromo-magnetically charged gauge configurations with nontrivial topology, it is not clear what types of configurations could do that and how, in pure Yang-Mills and QCD-like (non-supersymmetric) theories. Recently a promising approach has emerged, based on statistical ensembles of dyons/anti-dyons that are constituents of instanton/anti-instanton solutions with nontrivial holonomy where the holonomy plays a vital role as an effective "Higgsing" mechanism. We study $U_A(1)$ symmetry and its relation to chiral symmetry at finite temperature through the application of functional renormalization group to the $SU(3)$ quark meson model. Very different from the mass gap and mixing angel between $η$ and $η'$ mesons which are defined at mean field level and behavior like the chiral condensates, the topological susceptibility includes a fluctuations induced part which becomes dominant at high temperature. As a result, the $U_A(1)$ symmetry is still considerably broken in the chiral symmetry restoration phase.

We show the existence of a new gapless collective excitation in a rotating fluid system with chiral fermions, named as the Chiral Vortical Wave (CVW). The CVW has its microscopic origin at the quantum anomaly and macroscopically arises from interplay between vector and axial charge fluctuations induced by vortical effects. The wave equation is obtained both from hydrodynamic current equations and from chiral kinetic theory and its solutions show nontrivial CVW-induced charge transport from different initial conditions. Using the rotating quark-gluon plasma in heavy ion collisions as a concrete example, we show the formation of induced flavor quadrupole in QGP and estimate the elliptic flow splitting effect for Lambda baryons that may be experimentally measured.

We focus on the case of overpopulated systems that are driven to Bose-Einstein condensation on their way to thermalization. The presence of a mass modifies the dispersion relation of the gluon, as compared to the massless case, but it is shown that this does not change qualitatively the scaling behavior in the vicinity of the onset.

In this paper we introduce and compute a new transport coefficient for the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) at very high temperature. In this paper we introduce and compute a new transport coefficient for the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) at very high temperature. This new coefficient $σ_{χe}$, the CESE (Chiral Electric Separation Effect) conductivity, quantifies the amount of axial current $\vec J_A$ that is generated in response to an externally applied electric field $e\vec E$: $\vec J_A = σ_{χe} (e\vec E)$. Starting with rather general argument in the kinetic theory framework, we show how a characteristic structure $σ_{χe}\propto μμ_5$ emerges, which also indicates the CESE as an anomalous transport effect occurring only in a parity-odd environment with nonzero axial charge density $μ_5\neq 0$. Using the Hard-Thermal-Loop framework the CESE conductivity for the QGP is found to be $σ_{χe} = (\#) T\frac{{\rm Tr}_{\rm f}Q_eQ_A}{g^4\ln(1/g)} \frac{μμ_5}{T^2}$ to the leading-log accuracy with the numerical constant (#) depending on favor content, e.g. (#)$=14.5163$ for $u,d$ light flavors.

In this paper, an improved quasi-particle model is presented. Unlike the previous approach of establishing quasi-particle model, we introduce a classical background field (it is allowed to depend on the temperature) to deal with the infinity of thermal vacuum energy which exists in previous quasi-particle models. After taking into account the effect of this classical background field, the partition function of quasi-particle system can be made well-defined. Based on this and following the standard ensemble theory, we construct a thermodynamically consistent quasi-particle model without the need of any reformulation of statistical mechanics or thermodynamical consistency relation. As an application of our model, we employ it to the case of (2+1) flavor QGP at zero chemical potential and finite temperature and obtain a good fit to the recent lattice simulation results of S. Borsanyi $et$ $al$. A comparison of the result of our model with early calculations using other models is also presented. It is shown that our method is general and can be generalized to the case where the effective mass depends not only on the temperature but also on the chemical potential.

Authors:

Abstract:
We study gluon condensate in a pion superfluid, through calculating the equation of state of the system in the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model. While in mean field approximation the growing pion condensate leads to an increasing gluon condensate, meson fluctuations reduce the gluon condensate and the broken scalar symmetry can be smoothly restored at finite isospin density.

A comparison between the EOS under HDL approximation and the cold, perturbative EOS of QCD proposed by Fraga, Pisarski and Schaffner-Bielich is made. It is found that the pressure under HDL approximation is generally smaller than the perturbative result. In addition, we also calculate the quark number susceptibility (QNS) at finite temperature and finite chemical potential under hard-thermal/dense-loop (HTL/HDL) approximation and compare our results with the corresponding ones in the previous literature.

The dynamical nucleus-nucleus potentials for fusion reactions 40Ca+40Ca, 48Ca+208Pb and 126Sn+130Te are studied with the improved quantum molecular dynamics (ImQMD) model together with the extended Thomas-Fermi approximation for the kinetic energies of nuclei. The obtained fusion barrier for 40Ca+40Ca is in good agreement with the extracted fusion barrier from the measured fusion excitation function, and the depth of the fusion pockets are close to the results of time-dependent Hartree-Fock calculations. The energy dependence of fusion barrier is also investigated. For heavy fusion system, the fusion pocket becomes shallow and almost disappears for symmetric systems and the obtained potential at short distances is higher than the adiabatic potential.

Applying the Hellmann-Feynman theorem to a charged pion gas, the quark and gluon condensates at low isospin density are determined by precise pion properties. At intermediate density around $ f_π^2m_π$, from both the estimation for the dilute pion gas and the calculation with Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model, the quark condensate is strongly and monotonously suppressed, while the gluon condensate is enhanced and can be larger than its vacuum value. This unusual behavior of the gluon condensate is universal for Bose condensed matter of mesons. Our results can be tested by lattice calculations at finite isospin density.

Alkofer, W. Detmold, C.S. Fischer and P. Maris, Phys. Rev. D {\bf 70}, 014014 (2004)]. It is found that when $μ$ is below a threshold value $μ_0$ (which equals $0.350 \mathrm{GeV}$, $0.377 \mathrm{GeV}$ and $0.341 \mathrm{GeV}$, for the $\mathrm{2CC}$, $\mathrm{1R1CC}$ and $\mathrm{3R}$ parametrizations of the model quark propagator, respectively.), $f_π[μ]$ and $m_π[μ]$ are kept unchanged from their vacuum values. The value of $μ_0$ is intimately connected with the pole distribution of the model quark propagator and is found to coincide with the threshold value below which the quark-number density vanishes identically. Numerical calculations show that when $μ$ becomes larger than $μ_0$, $f_π[μ]$ exhibits a sharp decrease whereas $m_π[μ]$ exhibits a sharp increase. A comparison is given between the results obtained in this paper and those obtained in previous literatures.
