The percolation phase transition plays a significant role in understanding the Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) phase diagram, particularly in the study of the Quark-gluon Plasma and the critical point in high energy nuclear physics. It is expected that the QCD critical point belongs to the three-dimensional (3D) Ising universality class. In this study, we explore the percolation phase transition within the 3D cubic Ising model by employing two machine learning algorithms: Principal Component Analysis and the Domain Adversarial Neural Network. Our findings reveal the effectiveness of machine learning techniques in distinguishing different phases during the percolation transition. Through the finite-size scaling analysis on the output of the neural networks, the critical temperature and a correlation length exponent in the geometrical percolation transition are extracted and compared to those in the thermal magnetization phase transition within the 3D Ising model. These results offer valuable insights to our understanding of QCD phase transitions in relativistic heavy-ion collisions.

The diffusion coefficient of heavy quarks in the deconfined medium is examined in this research using a deep convolutional neural network (CNN) trained with data from relativistic heavy ion collisions involving heavy flavor hadrons. The CNN is trained using observables such as the nuclear modification factor $R_{AA}$ and the elliptic flow $v_2$ of non-prompt $J/ψ$ from B-hadron decay in different centralities, where B meson evolutions are calculated using the Langevin equation and the Instantaneous Coalescence Model. The CNN outputs the parameters characterizing the temperature and momentum dependence of the heavy quark diffusion coefficient. By inputting the experimental data of non-prompt $J/ψ$ $(R_{AA}, v_2)$ from various collision centralities into multiple channels of the well-trained network, we derive the values of the diffusion coefficient parameters. Additionally, We evaluate the uncertainty in determining the diffusion coefficient by taking into account the uncertainties present in the experimental data $(R_{AA}, v_2)$, which serve as inputs to the deep neural network.

Following the reports of candidate chiral doublet bands observed in cesium isotopes, the possible chiral candidates and the evolution of three-dimensional rotation in $^{120-134}{\textrm{Cs}}$ are investigated within the microscopic three-dimensional tilted axis cranking covariant density functional theory (3DTAC-CDFT). By investigating the evolution of the polar angle $θ$ and azimuth angle $\varphi$ as a function of rotational frequency $\hbarω$, the transition from the planar rotation to the chiral rotation has been found in $^{121-133}{\textrm{Cs}}$. The corresponding critical rotational frequency $ω_{\textrm{crit}}$ of the appearance of chiral aplanar rotation decreases as neutron number increases, which can be attributed to the neutrons in $(gd)$ and $(sd)$ shells having smaller angular momentum components along both the short and long axes, and larger components along medium axis, respectively. In comparison, only planar rotation has been obtained in $^{120,134}{\textrm{Cs}}$. With these interpretations, the obtained $I\sim\hbarω$ and energy spectra as well as $B(M1)/B(E2)$ values show reasonable agreement with the available experimental data. In addition, the evolution of quadrupole deformation $β$ and triaxial deformation $γ$ are also discussed.

A clear signal is observed with a statistical significance of $7.1σ$. The cross section of the reaction $Ξ^0+{^9\rm{Be}}\rightarrowΞ^-+p+{^8\rm{Be}}$ is determined to be $σ(Ξ^0+{^9\rm{Be}}\rightarrowΞ^-+p+{^8\rm{Be}})=(22.1\pm5.3_{\rm{stat}}\pm4.5_{\rm{sys}})$ mb at the $Ξ^0$ momentum of $0.818$ GeV/$c$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. No significant $H$-dibaryon signal is observed in the $Ξ^-p$ final state. This is the first study of hyperon-nucleon interactions in electron-positron collisions and opens up a new direction for such research.

Exploration of the QCD phase diagram and critical point is one of the main goals in current relativistic heavy-ion collisions. The QCD critical point is expected to belong to a three-dimensional (3D) Ising universality class. Machine learning techniques are found to be powerful in distinguishing different phases of matter and provide a new way to study the phase diagram. We investigate phase transitions in the 3D cubic Ising model using supervised learning methods. It is found that a 3D convolutional neural network can be trained to effectivelly predict physical quantities in different spin configurations. With a uniform neural network architecture, it can encode phases of matter and identify both second- and first-order phase transitions. The important features that discriminate different phases in the classification processes are investigated. These findings can help study and understand QCD phase transitions in relativistic heavy-ion collisions.

We report a study of the processes of $e^+e^-\to K^+ (D_s^- D^{*0} + D^{*-}_s D^0)$ based on $e^+e^-$ annihilation samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at BEPCII at five center-of-mass energies ranging from 4.628 to 4.698 GeV with a total integrated luminosity of 3.7 fb$^{-1}$. An excess over the known contributions of the conventional charmed mesons is observed near the $D_s^- D^{*0}$ and $D^{*-}_s D^0$ mass thresholds in the $K^{+}$ recoil-mass spectrum for events collected at $\sqrt{s}=4.681$ GeV. The structure matches a mass-dependent-width Breit-Wigner line shape, whose pole mass and width are determined as $(3982.5^{+1.8}_{-2.6}\pm2.1)$ MeV/$c^2$ and $(12.8^{+5.3}_{-4.4}\pm3.0)$ MeV, respectively. The first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. The significance of the resonance hypothesis is estimated to be 5.3 $σ$ over the contributions only from the conventional charmed mesons. This is the first candidate of the charged hidden-charm tetraquark with strangeness, decaying into $D_s^- D^{*0}$ and $D^{*-}_s D^0$. However, the properties of the excess need further exploration with more statistics.

Based on the reported positive-parity doublet bands in $^{120}$I, the corresponding experimental characteristics including rotational alignment have been discussed and corresponding configuration assignment is reexamined. The self-consistent tilted axis cranking relativistic mean-field calculations indicates that this doublet bands is built on configuration $πh_{11/2}\otimes νh ^{-1}_{11/2}$. In addition, adopting the two quasiparticles coupled with a triaxial rotor model, the excitation energies, energy staggering parameter $S(I)$, $B(M1)/B(E2)$, effective angles, and $K$ $plots$ have been discussed and also compared with the available data. All of these results support the interpretation of chiral doublet bands for the positive-parity doublet bands in $^{120}$I, and hence identify this nucleus as the border of the $A \approx 130$ island of chiral candidates.

The experimental features of positive-parity doublet bands in the odd-\emph{A} cesium isotopes $^{125,127,129,131}$Cs, including angular momentum alignment, energy staggering, $B(M1)/B(E2)$ etc. are studied systematically and compared to those of the candidate chiral bands in the adjacent odd-odd Cs isotopes. The configuration assignments and the dynamics of these bands are discussed. The self-consistent tilted axis cranking relativistic mean-field calculations are performed with configuration reassigned to these bands. The experimental level schemes of four nuclei are well reproduced, and the calculations also show four nuclei have obvious triaxial deformations and thus support the candidate chiral doublet bands in $^{125,127,129,131}$Cs.
