In addition, for a real or complex rectangular matrix $W^β$ with independent Gaussian random field entries, we obtain the sufficient and necessary conditions under which the probability of multiple collisions of non-trivial singular value processes of $B^β+ T_βW^β\tilde T_β$ is positive. In both cases, the size of the set of collision times is characterized via Hausdorff dimension.

Haagerup and Thorbjørnsen proved that iid GUEs converge strongly to free semicircular elements as the dimension grows to infinity. Motivated by considerations from quantum physics -- in particular, understanding nearest neighbor interactions in quantum spin systems -- we consider iid GUE acting on multipartite state spaces, with a mixing component on some sites and identity on the remaining sites. We show that under proper assumptions on the dimension of the sites, strong asymptotic freeness still holds. Our proof relies on an interpolation technology recently introduced by Bandeira, Boedihardjo and van Handel.

In this article, via first establishing a weighted variant of the profound and far-reaching inequality obtained by A. Cohen, W. Dahmen, I. Daubechies, and R. DeVore in 2003, the authors give two new characterizations of Muckenhoupt weights. As an application, the authors further establish a representation formula of gradients with sharp parameters in ball Banach function spaces, which extends the famous formula obtained by H. Brezis, A. Seeger, J. Van Schaftingen, and P.-L. Yung in 2021 from classical Sobolev spaces to various different Sobolev-type spaces and gives an affirmative answer to the question in page 29 of [Calc. Var. Partial Differential Equations 62 (2023), Paper No. 234]. The most novelty of this article exists in subtly revealing the mutual equivalences among the Muckenhoupt weight, the weighted variant of the inequality of Cohen et al., and the weighted upper estimate of the formula of Brezis et al.

We describe a general procedure for computing renormalized curvature integrals on Poincaré-Einstein manifolds. In particular, we explain the connection between the Gauss-Bonnet-type formulas of Albin and Chang-Qing-Yang for the renormalized volume, and explicitly identify a scalar conformal invariant in the latter formula. Our approach constructs scalar conformal invariants that are divergences at any Einstein manifold; these imply that the scalar invariant in the Chang-Qing-Yang formula is not unique in dimension at least eight. Our procedure also produces explicit conformally invariant Gauss-Bonnet-type formulas for compact Einstein manifolds.

In this article, the authors establish the molecular and the wavelet characterizations of these spaces. Furthermore, as applications, the authors obtain the optimal boundedness of trace operators, pseudo-differential operators, and Calderón--Zygmund operators on these spaces. Due to the sharp boundedness of almost diagonal operators on their related sequence spaces obtained in the second article of this series, all results presented in this article improve their counterparts on matrix-weighted Besov and Triebel--Lizorkin spaces $\dot B^{s}_{p,q}(W)$ and $\dot F^{s}_{p,q}(W)$. In particular, even when reverting to the boundedness of Calderón--Zygmund operator on unweighted Triebel--Lizorkin spaces $\dot F^{s}_{p,q}$, these results are still better.

Abstract:
Recently, S. Carpi et al. (Comm. Math. Phys., 402:169-212, 2023) proved that every connected (i.e. haploid) Frobenius algebra in a tensor C$^*$-category is unitarizable (i.e. isomorphic to a special C$^*$-Frobenius algebra). Building on this result, we extend it to the non-connected case by showing that an algebra in a multitensor C$^*$-category is unitarizable if and only if it is separable.

Let $Ω\subset\mathbb{R}^n$ be a bounded $(\varepsilon,\infty)$-domain with $\varepsilon\in(0,1]$, $X(\mathbb{R}^n)$ a ball Banach function space satisfying some extra mild assumptions, and $\{ρ_ν\}_{ν\in(0,ν_0)}$ with $ν_0\in(0,\infty)$ a $ν_0$-radial decreasing approximation of the identity on $\mathbb{R}^n$. In this article, the authors establish two extension theorems, respectively, on the inhomogeneous ball Banach Sobolev space $W^{m,X}(Ω)$ and the homogeneous ball Banach Sobolev space $\dot{W}^{m,X}(Ω)$ for any $m\in\mathbb{N}$. On the other hand, the authors prove that, for any $f\in\dot{W}^{1,X}(Ω)$, $$ \lim_{ν\to0^+} \left\|\left[\int_Ω\frac{|f(\cdot)-f(y)|^p}{ |\cdot-y|^p}ρ_ν(|\cdot-y|)\,dy \right]^\frac{1}{p}\right\|_{X(Ω)}^p =\frac{2π^{\frac{n-1}{2}}Γ(\frac{p+1}{2})}{Γ(\frac{p+n}{2})} \left\|\,\left|\nabla f\right|\,\right\|_{X(Ω)}^p, $$ where $Γ$ is the Gamma function and $p\in[1,\infty)$ is related to $X(\mathbb{R}^n)$. Using this asymptotics, the authors further establish a characterization of $W^{1,X}(Ω)$ in terms of the above limit. To achieve these, the authors develop a machinery via using a method of the extrapolation, two extension theorems on weighted Sobolev spaces, and some recently found profound properties of $W^{1,X}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ to overcome those difficulties caused by that the norm of $X(\mathbb{R}^n)$ has no explicit expression and that $X(\mathbb{R}^n)$ might be neither the reflection invariance nor the translation invariance. This characterization has a wide range of generality and can be applied to various Sobolev-type spaces, such as Morrey [Bourgain--Morrey-type, weighted (or mixed-norm or variable), local (or global) generalized Herz, Lorentz, and Orlicz (or Orlicz-slice)] Sobolev spaces, all of which are new.

In this article, we study the hyperbolic Anderson model in dimension 1, driven by a time-independent rough noise, i.e. the noise associated with the fractional Brownian motion of Hurst index $H \in (1/4,1/2)$. We prove that, with appropriate normalization and centering, the spatial integral of the solution converges in distribution to the standard normal distribution, and we estimate the speed of this convergence in the total variation distance. We also prove the corresponding functional limit result. Our method is based on a version of the second-order Gaussian Poincaré inequality developed recently in [27], and relies on delicate moment estimates for the increments of the first and second Malliavin derivatives of the solution. These estimates are obtained using a connection with the wave equation with delta initial velocity, a method which is different than the one used in [27] for the parabolic Anderson model.

In particular, some of these results are still new even when $X:=L^p(X)$ with $p\in[1,\infty)$. As applications, the authors obtain some fractional Sobolev-type and some fractional Gagliardo--Nirenberg-type inequalities in the setting of $X$. Abstract:
Let $s\in{\mathbb R}$, $q\in (0,\infty]$, and $τ\in[0,\infty)$. It is well known that Besov-type spaces $\dot B^{s,τ}_{p,q}$ with $p\in (0,\infty]$ and Triebel--Lizorkin-type spaces $\dot F^{s,τ}_{p,q}$ with $p\in (0,\infty)$ when $τ\in [0,\infty)$ or with $p\in (0,\infty]$ when $τ=0$ on $\mathbb{R}^n$ consist of a general family of function spaces that cover not only the well-known Besov and Trie…

Let $s\in{\mathbb R}$, $q\in (0,\infty]$, and $τ\in[0,\infty)$. It is well known that Besov-type spaces $\dot B^{s,τ}_{p,q}$ with $p\in (0,\infty]$ and Triebel--Lizorkin-type spaces $\dot F^{s,τ}_{p,q}$ with $p\in (0,\infty)$ when $τ\in [0,\infty)$ or with $p\in (0,\infty]$ when $τ=0$ on $\mathbb{R}^n$ consist of a general family of function spaces that cover not only the well-known Besov and Triebel--Lizorkin spaces $\dot B^{s}_{p,q}$ and $\dot F^{s}_{p,q}$ (when $τ=0$) but also several other function spaces of interest, such as Morrey spaces and $Q$ spaces. In three successive articles, the authors develop a complete real-variable theory of matrix-weighted Besov-type spaces $\dot B^{s,τ}_{p,q}(W)$ and matrix-weighted Triebel--Lizorkin-type spaces $\dot F^{s,τ}_{p,q}(W)$ on $\mathbb{R}^n$, where $W$ is a matrix-valued Muckenhoupt $A_p$ weight. This article is the first one, whose main novelty exists in that the authors introduce the new concept, $A_p$-dimensions of matrix weights, and intensively study their properties, especially those elaborate properties expressed via reducing operators. The authors then introduce the spaces $\dot B^{s,τ}_{p,q}(W)$ and $\dot F^{s,τ}_{p,q}(W)$ and, using $A_p$-dimensions and their nice properties, the authors establish the $\varphi$-transform characterization of $\dot B^{s,τ}_{p,q}(W)$ and $\dot F^{s,τ}_{p,q}(W)$. The $A_p$-dimensions of matrix weights and their properties also enable the authors to obtain the sharp boundedness of almost diagonal operators on related sequence spaces in the subsequent second article and the optimal characterizations of molecules and wavelets, trace theorems, and the optimal boundedness of pseudo-differential operators and Calderón--Zygmund operators in the subsequent third article.

In this article, we establish a characterization of the set $M(B^{0,b}_{p,\infty}(\mathbb{R}^n))$ of all pointwise multipliers of Besov spaces $B^{0,b}_{p,\infty}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ with only logarithmic smoothness $b\in\mathbb{R}$ in the special cases $p=1$ and $p=\infty$. As applications of these two characterizations, we clarify whether or not the three concrete examples, namely characteristic functions of open sets, continuous functions defined by differences, and the functions $e^{ik\cdot x}$ with $k\in\mathbb{Z}^n$ and $x\in\mathbb{R}^n$, are pointwise multipliers of $B^{0,b}_{1,\infty}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ and $B^{0,b}_{\infty,\infty}(\mathbb{R}^n)$, respectively; furthermore, we obtain the explicit estimates of $\|e^{ik \cdot x}\|_{M(B^{0,b}_{1,\infty}(\mathbb{R}^n))}$ and $\|e^{ik \cdot x}\|_{M(B^{0,b}_{\infty,\infty}(\mathbb{R}^n))}$. In the case that $p\in(1,\infty)$, we give some sufficient conditions and some necessary conditions of the pointwise multipliers of $B^{0,b}_{p,\infty}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ and a complete characterization of $M(B^{0,b}_{p,\infty}(\mathbb{R}^n))$ is still open. However, via a different method, we are still able to accurately calculate $\|e^{ik \cdot x}\|_{M(B^{0,b}_{p,\infty}(\mathbb{R}^n))}$, $k\in\mathbb{Z}^n$, in this situation. The novelty of this article is that most of the proofs are constructive and these constructions strongly depend on the logarithmic structure of Besov spaces under consideration.

In this article, we investigate the asymptotic behaviour of the spatial integral of the solution to the parabolic Anderson model with time independent noise in dimension $d\geq 1$, as the domain of the integral becomes large. We consider 3 cases: (a) the case when the noise has an integrable covariance function; (b) the case when the covariance of the noise is given by the Riesz kernel; (c) the case of the rough noise, i.e. fractional noise with index $H \in (\frac{1}{4},\frac{1}{2})$ in dimension $d=1$. In each case, we identify the order of magnitude of the variance of the spatial integral, we prove a quantitative central limit theorem for the normalized spatial integral by estimating its total variation distance to a standard normal distribution, and we give the corresponding functional limit result.

In this article, the authors introduce the weak Hardy space $WH_X(\mathbb{X})$ associated with $X(\mathbb{X})$ via the grand maximal function, and characterize $WH_X(\mathbb{X})$ by other maximal functions and atoms. The authors then apply these characterizations to obtain the real interpolation and the boundedness of Calderón--Zygmund operators in the critical case. The main novelties of this article exist in that the authors use the Aoki--Rolewicz theorem and both the dyadic system and the exponential decay of approximations of the identity on $\mathbb{X}$, which closely connect with the geometrical properties of $\mathbb{X}$, to overcome the difficulties caused by the absence of both the triangle inequality of $\|\cdot\|_{X(\mathbb{X})}$ and the reverse doubling assumption of the measure $μ$ under consideration, and also use the relation between the convexification of $X(\mathbb{X})$ and the weak space $WX(\mathbb{X})$ associated with $X(\mathbb{X})$ to prove that the infinite summation of atoms converges in the space of distributions on $\mathbb{X}$. Moreover, all these results have a wide range of generality and, particularly, even when they are applied to the weighted Lebesgue space, the Orlicz space, and the variable Lebesgue space, the obtained results are also new and, actually, some of them are new even on RD-spaces (namely, spaces of homogeneous type satisfying the additional reverse doubling condition).

In this article, we study the asymptotic behavior of the spatial integral of the solution to the hyperbolic Anderson model in dimension $d\leq 2$, as the domain of the integral gets large (for fixed time $t$). This equation is driven by a spatially homogeneous Gaussian noise, whose covariance function is either integrable, or is given by the Riesz kernel. The novelty is that the noise does not depend on time, which means that Itô's martingale theory for stochastic integration cannot be used. Using a combination of Malliavin calculus with Stein's method, we show that with proper normalization and centering, the spatial integral of the solution converges to a standard normal distribution, by estimating the speed of this convergence in the total variation distance. We also prove the corresponding functional limit theorem for the spatial integral process.

In this article, the authors investigate (weighted) global gradient estimates for Dirichlet boundary value problems of second order elliptic equations of divergence form with an elliptic symmetric part and a BMO anti-symmetric part in $Ω$. More precisely, for any given $p\in(2,\infty)$, the authors prove that a weak reverse Hölder inequality with exponent $p$ implies the global $W^{1,p}$ estimate and the global weighted $W^{1,q}$ estimate, with $q\in[2,p]$ and some Muckenhoupt weights, of solutions to Dirichlet boundary value problems. As applications, the authors establish some global gradient estimates for solutions to Dirichlet boundary value problems of second order elliptic equations of divergence form with small $\mathrm{BMO}$ symmetric part and small $\mathrm{BMO}$ anti-symmetric part, respectively, on bounded Lipschitz domains, quasi-convex domains, Reifenberg flat domains, $C^1$ domains, or (semi-)convex domains, in weighted Lebesgue spaces. Furthermore, as further applications, the authors obtain the global gradient estimate, respectively, in (weighted) Lorentz spaces, (Lorentz--)Morrey spaces, (Musielak--)Orlicz spaces, and variable Lebesgue spaces. Even on global gradient estimates in Lebesgue spaces, the results obtained in this article improve the known results via weakening the assumption on the coefficient matrix.

We study the eigenvalue distributions for sums of independent rank-one $k$-fold tensor products of large $n$-dimensional vectors. Previous results in the literature assume that $k=o(n)$ and show that the eigenvalue distributions converge to the celebrated Marčenko-Pastur law under appropriate moment conditions on the base vectors. In this paper, motivated by quantum information theory, we study the regime where $k$ grows faster, namely $k=O(n)$. We show that the moment sequences of the eigenvalue distributions have a limit, which is different from the Marčenko-Pastur law. As a byproduct, we show that the Marčenko-Pastur law limit holds if and only if $k=o(n)$ for this tensor model. The approach is based on the method of moments.

Furthermore, the authors characterize $JNQ^α_{p,q}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ via mean oscillations, and then use this characterization to study the dyadic counterparts. The main novelties of this article are twofold: establishing a general equivalence principle for a kind of `almost increasing' set function introduced in this article, and using the fine geometrical properties of dyadic cubes to properly classify any collection of cubes with pairwise disjoint interiors and equal edge length.

Applying this generalization, the authors establish new fractional Sobolev and Gagliardo--Nirenberg inequalities in $\mathcal{X}$. All these results have a wide range of applications. The major novelties of this article exist in that, to escape the reverse doubling condition of $μ$ and the triangle inequality of $ρ$, the authors cleverly construct admissible sequences of balls, and fully use the geometrical properties of ${\mathcal X}$ expressed by dyadic reference points or dyadic cubes and, to overcome the difficulty caused by the lack of the good dense subset of $H_{Y}^*({\mathcal X})$, the authors further prove that $Y({\mathcal X})$ can be embedded into the weighted Lebesgue space with certain special weight, and then can fully use the known results of the weighted Lebesgue space.

Since the introduction of Dyson's Brownian motion in early 1960's, there have been a lot of developments in the investigation of stochastic processes on the space of Hermitian matrices. Their properties, especially, the properties of their eigenvalues have been studied in great details. In particular, the limiting behaviors of the eigenvalues are found when the dimension of the matrix space tends to infinity, which connects with random matrix theory. This survey reviews a selection of results on the eigenvalues of stochastic processes from the literature of the past three decades. For most recent variations of such processes, such as matrix-valued processes driven by fractional Brownian motion or Brownian sheet, the eigenvalues of them are also discussed in this survey. In the end, some open problems in the area are also proposed.

Let $X$ be a ball Banach function space on ${\mathbb R}^n$. In this article, under some mild assumptions about both $X$ and the boundedness of the Hardy--Littlewood maximal operator on the associate space of the convexification of $X$, the authors prove that, for any locally integrable function $f$ with $\|\,|\nabla f|\,\|_{X}<\infty$, $$\sup_{λ\in(0,\infty)}λ\left \|\left|\left\{y\in{\mathbb R}^n:\ |f(\cdot)-f(y)| >λ|\cdot-y|^{\frac{n}{q}+1}\right\}\right|^{\frac{1}{q}} \right\|_X\sim \|\,|\nabla f|\,\|_X$$ with the positive equivalence constants independent of $f$, where the index $q\in(0,\infty)$ is related to $X$ and $|\{y\in{\mathbb R}^n:\ |f(\cdot)-f(y)| >λ|\cdot-y|^{\frac{n}{q}+1}\}|$ is the Lebesgue measure of the set under consideration. In particular, when $X:=L^p({\mathbb R}^n)$ with $p\in [1,\infty)$, the above formulae hold true for any given $q\in (0,\infty)$ with $n(\frac{1}{p}-\frac{1}{q})<1$, which when $q=p$ are exactly the recent surprising formulae of H. Brezis, J. Van Schaftingen, and P.-L. Yung, and which in other cases are new. This generalization has a wide range of applications and, particularly, enables the authors to establish new fractional Sobolev and new Gagliardo--Nirenberg inequalities in various function spaces, including Morrey spaces, mixed-norm Lebesgue spaces, variable Lebesgue spaces, weighted Lebesgue spaces, Orlicz spaces, and Orlicz-slice (generalized amalgam) spaces, and, even in all these special cases, the obtained results are new. The proofs of these results strongly depend on the Poincaré inequality, the extrapolation, the exact operator norm on $X'$ of the Hardy--Littlewood maximal operator, and the exquisite geometry of $\mathbb{R}^n.$

Let $p\in[1,\infty]$, $q\in[1,\infty)$, $s\in\mathbb{Z}_+:=\mathbb{N}\cup\{0\}$, and $α\in\mathbb{R}$. In this article, the authors first find a reasonable version $\widetilde{I}_β$ of the (generalized) fractional integral $I_β$ on the special John--Nirenberg--Campanato space via congruent cubes, $JN_{(p,q,s)_α}^{\mathrm{con}}(\mathbb{R}^n)$, which coincides with the Campanato space $\mathcal{C}_{α,q,s}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ when $p=\infty$. To this end, the authors introduce the vanishing moments up to order $s$ of $I_β$. Then the authors prove that $\widetilde{I}_β$ is bounded from $JN_{(p,q,s)_α}^{\mathrm{con}}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ to $JN_{(p,q,s)_{α+β/n}}^{\mathrm{con}}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ if and only if $I_β$ has the vanishing moments up to order $s$. The obtained result is new even when $p=\infty$ and $s\in\mathbb{N}$. Moreover, the authors show that $I_β$ can be extended to a unique continuous linear operator from the Hardy-kind space $HK_{(p,q,s)_{α+β/n}}^{\mathrm{con}}(\mathbb{R}^n)$, the predual of $JN_{(p',q',s)_{α+β/n}}^{\mathrm{con}}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ with $\frac{1}{p}+\frac{1}{p'}=1=\frac{1}{q}+\frac{1}{q'}$, to $HK_{(p,q,s)_α}^{\mathrm{con}}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ if and only if $I_β$ has the vanishing moments up to order $s$. The proof of the latter boundedness strongly depends on the dual relation $(HK_{(p,q,s)_α}^{\mathrm{con}}(\mathbb{R}^n))^* =JN_{(p',q',s)_α}^{\mathrm{con}}(\mathbb{R}^n)$, the properties of molecules of $HK_{(p,q,s)_α}^{\mathrm{con}}(\mathbb{R}^n)$, and a crucial criterion for the boundedness of linear operators on $HK_{(p,q,s)_α}^{\mathrm{con}}(\mathbb{R}^n)$.

In this article, the authors prove that, for any $f\in \mathcal{L}_{X,q,0,d}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ (the ball Campanato-type function space associated with $X$), the Littlewood--Paley $g$-function $g(f)$ is either infinite everywhere or finite almost everywhere and, in the latter case, $g(f)$ is bounded on $\mathcal{L}_{X,q,0,d}(\mathbb{R}^n)$. Similar results for both the Lusin-area function and the Littlewood--Paley $g_λ^*$-function are also obtained. All these results have a wide range of applications. Particularly, even when $X$ is the weighted Lebesgue space, or the mixed-norm Lebesgue space, or the variable Lebesgue space, or the Orlicz space, or the Orlicz-slice space, all these results are new. The proofs of all these results strongly depend on several delicate estimates of Littlewood--Paley operators on the mean oscillation of the locally integrable function $f$ on $\mathbb{R}^n$. Moreover, the same ideas are also used to obtain the corresponding results for the special John--Nirenberg--Campanato space via congruent cubes.

These centers have important applications in the mathematical theory of gapless boundaries of 2+1D topological orders and that of topological phase transitions in physics. They also play very important roles in the higher representation theory, which is the focus of the second work in the series.

In this article, the authors establish the wavelet characterization of Besov and Triebel--Lizorkin spaces on a given space $(X,d,μ)$ of homogeneous type in the sense of Coifman and Weiss. Moreover, the authors introduce almost diagonal operators on Besov and Triebel--Lizorkin sequence spaces on $X$, and obtain their boundedness. Using this wavelet characterization and this boundedness of almost diagonal operators, the authors obtain the molecular characterization of Besov and Triebel--Lizorkin spaces. Applying this molecular characterization, the authors further establish the Littlewood--Paley characterizations of Triebel--Lizorkin spaces on $X$. The main novelty of this article is that all these results get rid of their dependence on the reverse doubling property of $μ$ and also the triangle inequality of $d$, by fully using the geometrical property of $X$ expressed via its equipped quasi-metric $d$, dyadic reference points, dyadic cubes, and wavelets
