In this study, we address multi-robot localization issues, with a specific focus on cooperative localization and observability analysis of relative pose estimation. Cooperative localization involves enhancing each robot's information through a communication network and message passing. If odometry data from a target robot can be transmitted to the ego robot, observability of their relative pose estimation can be achieved through range-only or bearing-only measurements, provided both robots have non-zero linear velocities. In cases where odometry data from a target robot are not directly transmitted but estimated by the ego robot, both range and bearing measurements are necessary to ensure observability of relative pose estimation. For ROS/Gazebo simulations, we explore four sensing and communication structures. We compare extended Kalman filtering (EKF) and pose graph optimization (PGO) estimation using different robust loss functions (filtering and smoothing with varying batch sizes of sliding windows) in terms of estimation accuracy. In hardware experiments, two Turtlebot3 equipped with UWB modules are used for real-world inter-robot relative pose estimation, applying both EKF and PGO and comparing their performance.

Explicit Cocycle of the Dedekind-Rademacher Cohomology Class and the Darmon-Dasgupta Measures
Authors:

Abstract:
The work of Darmon, Pozzi, and Vonk has recently shown that the RM-values of the Dedekind-Rademacher cocycle $J_{DR}$ are Gross-Stark units up to a controlled torsion. In the aforementioned work, it is remarked that the measure-valued cohomology class $μ_{DR}$ which underlies $J_{DR}$ is the level 1 incarnation of earlier constructions by Darmon and Dasgupta. In this paper, we make this relationship explicit by computing a concrete cocycle representative of $μ_{DR}$ by tracing the construction of the cohomology class and comparing periods of weight 2 Eisenstein series. While maintaining a global perspective in our computations, we configure the appropriate method of smoothing cocycles which exactly yields the $p$-adic measures of Darmon and Dasgupta when applied to $μ_{DR}$. These methods will also explain the optional degree zero condition imposed in Darmon and Dasgupta's work which was remarked upon in works of Fleischer and Liu as well as Dasgupta and Kakde.

In this paper, we propose a sparse equity portfolio optimization (SEPO) based on the mean-variance portfolio selection model. In this paper, we propose a sparse equity portfolio optimization (SEPO) based on the mean-variance portfolio selection model. Aimed at minimizing transaction cost by avoiding small investments, this new model includes $\ell_0$-norm regularization of the asset weights to promote sparsity, hence the acronym SEPO-$\ell_0$. The selection model is also subjected to a minimum expected return. The complexity of the model calls for proximal method, which allows us to handle the objectives terms separately via the corresponding proximal operators. We develop an efficient ADMM-like algorithm to find the optimal portfolio and prove its global convergence. The efficiency of the algorithm is demonstrated using real stock data and the model is promising in portfolio selection in terms of generating higher expected return while maintaining good level of sparsity, and thus minimizing transaction cost.

Abstract:
In this paper, we introduce the notion of abelian endoregular modules as those modules whose endomorphism rings are abelian von Neumann regular. We characterize an abelian endoregular module $M$ in terms of its $M$-generated submodules. We prove that if $M$ is an abelian endoregular module then so is every $M$-generated submodule of $M$. Also, the case when the (quasi-)injective hull of a module a…

We characterize an abelian endoregular module $M$ in terms of its $M$-generated submodules. We prove that if $M$ is an abelian endoregular module then so is every $M$-generated submodule of $M$. Also, the case when the (quasi-)injective hull of a module as well as the case when a direct sum of modules is abelian endoregular are presented. At the end, we study abelian endoregular modules as subdirect products of simple modules.
