Multiplicative Hecke operators and their applications

Abstract: In this paper, we define the multiplicative Hecke operators $\mathcal{T}(n)$ for any positive integer on the integral weight meromorphic modular forms for $Γ_{0}(N)$. We then show that they have properties similar to those of additive Hecke operators. A note on invariable generation of nonsolvable permutation groups

Abstract: We prove a result on the asymptotic proportion of randomly chosen pairs of permutations in the symmetric group $S_n$ which "invariably" generate a nonsolvable subgroup, i.e., whose cycle structures cannot possibly both occur in the same solvable subgroup of $S_n$.
