In this paper, we study on the estimation of the parameters of the simple semi-Lévy CARMA (SSLCARMA) process based on the Kalman recursion technique. We implement this method in conjunction with the state-space representation of the associated process. The accuracy of estimation procedure is assessed in a simulated study. We fit a SSLCARMA(2,1) process to intraday realized volatility of Dow Jones Industrial Average data. Finally, We show that this process provides better in-sample forecasts of these data than the Lévy driven CARMA process after de-seasonalized them.

We show that the state process of such process can be described by a random recurrence equation with the periodic random coeffcients. We establish sufficient conditions for the existence of a strictly periodically stationary solution of the state process which causes the volatility process to be strictly periodically stationary. Furthermore, it is shown that the increments with constant length of such SLD-COGARCH process are themselves a discrete-time periodically correlated (PC) process. We apply some tests to verify the PC behavior of these increments by the simulation studies. Finally, we show that how well this model fits a set of high-frequency financial data.

Multivariate GARCH models are as a standard approach for modelling time-varying covariance matrix such phenomena. Cholesky GARCH is one of these approaches where the time-varying covariance matrix can be written parsimoniously, containing variance components through a diagonal matrix and dependency components through a unit lower triangular matrix with regression coefficients as entries. In this paper, we proposed a stochastic structure for dependency components in Cholesky GARCH model by considering linear regression model as a state-space model and using kalman filtering for estimating regression coefficients. We find that the MSE of stochastic Cholesky GARCH model is smaller than the MSE of other models also show that the stochastic Cholesky GARCH has better performance in compare to another models based on MAE and MSE criterions for the real data.

The statistical properties of this process are characterized. This process has the potential to approximate any semi-Lévy driven COGARCH processes. We show that the state representation of such SS-COGARCH process can be described by a random recurrence equation with periodic random coefficients. By deriving the minimum mean-square optimal kernel within Cohen's class counterpart of time-frequency representations, we obtain an optimal estimation for the scale invariant Wigner spectrum (SIWS) of Gaussian LSSPs. The class of estimators is completely characterized in terms of kernels, so the optimal kernel minimizes the mean-square error of the estimation. We obtain the SIWS estimation for two cases: global and local, where in the local case, the kernel is allowed to vary with time and frequency. We also introduce two generalizations of LSSPs: the locally self-similar chrip process and the multicomponent locally self-similar process, and obtain their optimal kernels. The characteristic feature of semi-selfsimilar process is the invariance of its finite dimensional distributions by certain dilation for specific scaling factor. Estimating the scale parameter $λ$ and the Hurst index of such processes is one of the fundamental problem in the literature. We present some iterative method for estimation of the scale and Hurst parameters which is addressed for semi-selfsimilar processes with stationary increments. This method is based on some flexible sampling scheme and evaluating sample variance of increments in each scale intervals $[λ^{n-1}, λ^n)$, $n\in \mathbb{N}$. For such iterative method we find the initial estimation for the scale parameter by evaluating cumulative sum of moving sample variances and also by evaluating sample variance of preceding and succeeding moving sample variance of increments. We also present a new efficient method for estimation of Hurst parameter of selfsimilar processes. As an example we introduce simple fractional Brownian motion (sfBm) which is semi-selfsimilar with stationary increments. We present some simulations and numerical evaluation to illustrate the results and to estimate the scale for sfBm as a semi-selfsimilar process. We also present another simulation and show the efficiency of our method in estimation of Hurst parameter by comparing its performance with some previous methods.

We also define $X^p(t)$ as a certain continuous time periodically correlated (PC) process where its covariance function is generated by the covariance function of a discrete time through defining some simple random measure on real line. We also impose a bi-periodic correlation for this PC process with $X^{ls}(t)$. The existence of such random measure is proved. We assume that the process $\{X(t), t\in {\bf R^+}\}$ is also Markov in the wide sense and provide a discrete time scale invariant Markov (DT-SIM) process with the above scheme of sampling. We present an example of DT-SIM process, simple Brownian motion, by the above sampling scheme and verify our results.
