Cognitive decision-making processes are crucial aspects of human behavior, influencing various personal and professional domains. This research delves into the application of differential equations in analyzing decision-making accuracy by leveraging eye-tracking data within a virtual industrial town setting. The study unveils a systematic approach to transforming raw data into a differential equation, essential for deciphering the relationship between eye movements during decision-making processes.
Mathematical relationship extraction and variable-parameter definition pave the way for deriving a differential equation that encapsulates the growth of fixations on characters. The key factors in this equation encompass the fixation rate $(λ)$ and separation rate $(μ)$, reflecting user interaction dynamics and their impact on decision-making complexities tied to user engagement with virtual characters.
For a comprehensive grasp of decision dynamics, solving this differential equation requires initial fixation counts, fixation rate, and separation rate. The formulation of differential equations incorporates various considerations such as engagement duration, character-player distance, relative speed, and character attributes, enabling the representation of fixation changes, speed dynamics, distance variations, and the effects of character attributes.
This comprehensive analysis not only enhances our comprehension of decision-making processes but also provides a foundational framework for predictive modeling and data-driven insights for future research and applications in cognitive science and virtual reality environments.

This paper presents a novel operational matrix method to accelerate the training of fractional Physics-Informed Neural Networks (fPINNs). Our approach involves a non-uniform discretization of the fractional Caputo operator, facilitating swift computation of fractional derivatives within Caputo-type fractional differential problems with $0<α<1$. In this methodology, the operational matrix is precomputed, and during the training phase, automatic differentiation is replaced with a matrix-vector product. While our methodology is compatible with any network, we particularly highlight its successful implementation in PINNs, emphasizing the enhanced accuracy achieved when utilizing the Legendre Neural Block (LNB) architecture. LNB incorporates Legendre polynomials into the PINN structure, providing a significant boost in accuracy. The effectiveness of our proposed method is validated across diverse differential equations, including Delay Differential Equations (DDEs) and Systems of Differential Algebraic Equations (DAEs). To demonstrate its versatility, we extend the application of the method to systems of differential equations, specifically addressing nonlinear Pantograph fractional-order DDEs/DAEs. The results are supported by a comprehensive analysis of numerical outcomes.

In this paper, two numerical approaches based on the Newton iteration method with spectral algorithms are introduced to solve the Thomas-Fermi equation. That Thomas-Fermi equation is a nonlinear singular ordinary differential equation (ODE) with boundary condition in infinite. In these schemes, the Newton method is combined with a spectral method where in one of those, by Newton method we convert nonlinear ODE to a sequence of linear ODE then, solve them using the spectral method. In another one, by the spectral method the nonlinear ODE be converted to system of nonlinear algebraic equations, then, this system is solved by Newton method. In both approaches, the spectral method is based on fractional order of rational Gegenbauer functions. Finally, the obtained results of two introduced schemes are compared to each other in accuracy, runtime and iteration number. In this work, we introduce the new class of functions which can use to solve the nonlinear/linear multi-dimensional differential equations. Based on these functions, a numerical method is provided which is called the Developed Lagrange Interpolation (DLI). For this, firstly, we define the new class of the functions, called the Developed Lagrange Functions (DLFs), which satisfy in the Kronecker Delta at the collocation points. Then, for the DLFs, the first-order derivative operational matrix of $\textbf{D}^{(1)}$ is obtained, and a recurrence relation is provided to compute the high-order derivative operational matrices of $\textbf{D}^{(m)}$, $m\in \mathbb{N}$; that is, we develop the theorem of the derivative operational matrices of the classical Lagrange polynomials for the DLFs and show that the relation of $\textbf{D}^{(m)}=(\textbf{D}^{(1)})^{m}$ for the DLFs is not established and is developable. Finally, we develop the error analysis of the classical Lagrange interpolation for the developed Lagrange interpolation. Finally, for demonstrating the convergence and efficiency of the DLI, some well-known differential equations, which are applicable in applied sciences, have been investigated based upon the various choices of the points of interpolation/collocation.

According to well-known results and comparing with previous methods, it can be said that this method is efficient and applicable.

In this paper a numerical meshless method for solving the radiative transfer equations in a slab medium with an isotropic scattering is considered. The method is based on radial basis functions to approximate the solution of an integral-partial differential equation by using collocation method. For this purpose different applications of RBFs are used. To this end the numerical solutions are obtained without any mesh generation into the domain of the problems. The results of numerical experiments are compared with the existing results in illustrative examples to confirm the accuracy and efficiency of the presented scheme. Also the norm of the residual functions are obtained to show the convergence of the method.

This method can be used for many problems such as differential equations, integral equations and so on. Numerical examples show the method is computationally simple and also illustrate the efficiency and accuracy of the method.

Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) are high performance co-processors originally intended to improve the use and quality of computer graphics applications. Once, researchers and practitioners noticed the potential of using GPU for general purposes, GPUs applications have been extended from graphics applications to other fields. The main objective of this paper is to evaluate the impact of using GPU in solution of the transient diffusion type equation by parallel and stable group explicit finite difference method and encourage the researchers in this field to immigrate from implementing their algorithms in CPU to the GPU emerging world. For comparing them, we implemented the method in both GPU and CPU (multi-core) programming context. Moreover, we proposed an optimal synchronization arrangement for the implementation pseudo-code. Also, the interrelation of GPU parallel programming and initializing the algorithm variables were discussed, taking advantage of numerical experiences. The GPU-approach results are faster than those obtained from a much expensive parallel 8-thread CPU-based programming. The GPU used in this paper, is an ordinary old laptop GPU (GT 335M, launched at 2010) and is accessible for everyone and the newer generations of GPU (as discussed in paper) have even more performance priority over the similar-price GPUs. Then, the results are expected to encourage the entire research society to take advantage of GPUs and improve the time efficiency of their studies.

The objective of this paper is to apply the well-known exact operational matrices (EOMs) idea for solving the Emden-Fowler equations, illustrating the superiority of EOMs versus ordinary operational matrices (OOMs). Up to now, a few studies have been conducted on EOMs and the differential equations solved by them do not have high-degree nonlinearity and the reported results are not regarded as appropriate criteria for the excellence of the new method. So, we chose Emden-Fowler type differential equations and solved them by this method. To confirm the accuracy of the new method and to show the preeminence of EOMs versus OOMs, the norm1 of the residual and error function of both methods are evaluated for multiple $m$ values, where $m$ is the degree of the Bernstein polynomials. We reported the results in form of plots to illustrate the error convergence of both methods to zero and also to show the primacy of the new method versus OOMs. The obtained results have demonstrated the increased accuracy of the new method.

The proposed approach is equipped by the orthogonal Hermite functions that have perfect properties to achieve this goal. This method solves the problem on the semi-infinite domain without truncating it to a finite domain and transforming domain of the problem to a finite domain. In addition, this method reduces solution of the problem to solution of a system of algebraic equations. We also present the comparison of this work with numerical results and show that the present method is applicable.

In this paper we propose a collocation method for solving some well-known classes of Lane-Emden type equations which are nonlinear ordinary differential equations on the semi-infinite domain. They are categorized as singular initial value problems. The proposed approach is based on a Hermite function collocation (HFC) method. To illustrate the reliability of the method, some special cases of the equations are solved as test examples. The new method reduces the solution of a problem to the solution of a system of algebraic equations. Hermite functions have prefect properties that make them useful to achieve this goal. We compare the present work with some well-known results and show that the new method is efficient and applicable.
