Ladder determinantal varieties and their symbolic blowups
Abstract: In this article we show that the symbolic Rees algebra of a mixed ladder determinantal ideal is strongly $F$-regular. Furthermore, we prove that the symbolic associated graded algebra of a mixed ladder determinantal ideal is $F$-pure. The latter implies that mixed ladder determinantal rings are $F$-pure. We also show that ideals of the poset of minors of a generic matrix give rise to $F$-pure alge… ▽ More

Regularity index of the generalized minimum distance function
Abstract: We show that the generalized minimum distance function is non-increasing as the degree varies for reduced standard graded algebras over a field. This allows us to define its regularity index and its stabilization value. The stabilization value is computed for every cases. We study how the regularity index varies as the number of polynomial increases, and use this to give bounds for it.

Purity of monoids and characteristic-free splittings in semigroup rings

Blowup algebras of determinantal ideals in prime characteristic

Bounds for the Minimum Distance Function
Abstract: Let $I$ be a homogeneous ideal in a polynomial ring $S$. In this paper, we extend the study of the asymptotic behavior of the minimum distance function $δ_I$ of $I$ and give bounds for its stabilization point, $r_I$, when $I$ is an $F$-pure or a square-free monomial ideal. These bounds are related with the dimension and the Castelnuovo--Mumford regularity of $I$.

On certain rings of differentiable type and finiteness properties of local cohomology
Abstract: Let $R$ be a commutative $F$-algebra, where $F$ is a field of characteristic 0, satisfying the following conditions: $R$ is equidimensional of dimension $n$, every residual field with respect to a maximal ideal is an algebraic extension of $F,$ and $\Der_F (R)$ is a finitely generated projective $R$-module of rank $n$ such that $R_m\otimes_R \Der_F (R)=\Der_F(R_m)$. We show that the associated gra… ▽ More

Local cohomology properties of direct summands
Abstract: In this article, we prove that if $R\to S$ is a homomorphism of Noetherian rings that splits, then for every $i\geq 0$ and ideal $I\subset R$, $\Ass_R H^i_I(R)$ is finite when $\Ass_S H^i_{IS}(S)$ is finite. In addition, if $S$ is a Cohen-Macaulay ring that is finitely generated as an $R$-module, such that all the Bass numbers of $H^i_{IS}(S)$, as an $S$-module, are finite, then all the Bass numbe… ▽ More

Ideals with Larger Projective Dimension and Regularity
Abstract: We define a family of homogeneous ideals with large projective dimension and regularity relative to the number of generators and their common degree. This family subsumes and improves upon constructions given in [Cav04] and [McC]. In particular, we describe a family of three-generated homogeneous ideals in arbitrary characteristic whose projective dimension grows asymptotically as sqrt{d}^(sqrt(d)… ▽ More
