As a consequence, we give a new proof of the isomorphism $σ^* M(G) \simeq \mathrm{Ext}^1 (G, \mathcal{O}^{\mathrm{crys}})$ due to Berthelot--Breen--Messing using stacky methods combined with the theory of de Rham--Witt complexes. Additionally, we show that finite locally free commutative group schemes of $p$-power rank over a quasisyntomic base ring embed fully faithfully into the category of prismatic $F$-gauges, which extends the work of Anschütz and Le Bras on prismatic Dieudonné theory.

This paper is concerned with the inverse problem of retrieving the initial value of a time-fractional fourth order parabolic equation from source and final time observation. The considered problem is an {\it ill-posed problem.} We obtain regularized approximations for the sought initial value by employing the quasi-boundary value method, its modified version and by Fourier truncation method(FTM). We provide both the apriori and aposteriori parameter choice strategies and derive the error estimates for all these methods under some {\it source conditions} involving some Sobolev smoothness. As an important implication of the obtained rates, we observe that for both the apriori and aposteriori cases, the rates obtained by all these three methods are same for some source sets. Moreover, we observe that in both the apriori and aposteriori cases, the FTM is free from the so-called {\it saturation effect}, whereas both the quasi-boundary value method and its generalizations possesses the saturation effect for both the cases. Further, we observe that the rates obtained by the FTM is always order optimal for all the considered source sets.

Depending on particular properties of the function $f$, the averages $\mathbb{A}_N f(x)$ may or may not actually fluctuate around the mean value infinitely often a.e. We will prove that a.e. fluctuation around the mean is the generic behavior. That is, for a fixed ergodic $T$, the generic non-constant $f\in L^1$ has the averages $\mathbb{A}_N f(x)$ fluctuating around the mean infinitely often for almost every $x$. We also consider fluctuation for other stochastic processes like subsequences of the ergodic averages, convolution operators, weighted averages, uniform distribution and martingales. We will show that in general, in these settings fluctuation around the limit infinitely often persists as the generic behavior.

In this paper, we study the Cauchy problem for a semilinear hypoelliptic damped wave equation involving a positive Rockland operator $\mathcal{R}$ of homogeneous degree $ν\geq 2$ on $\mathbb G$ with power type nonlinearity $|u|^p$ and initial data taken from negative order homogeneous Sobolev space $\dot H^{-γ}(\mathbb G), γ>0$. In the framework of Sobolev spaces of negative order, we prove that $p_{\text{Crit}}(Q, γ, ν) :=1+\frac{2ν}{Q+2γ}$ is the new critical exponent for $γ\in (0, \frac{Q}{2})$. More precisely, we show the global-in-time existence of small data Sobolev solutions of lower regularity for $p>p_{\text{Crit}}(Q, γ, ν) $ in the energy evolution space $ \mathcal{C}\left([0, T], H^{s}(\mathbb{G})\right), s\in (0, 1]$. Under certain conditions on the initial data, we also prove a finite-time blow-up of weak solutions for $1<p<p_{\text{Crit}}(Q, γ, ν)$. Furthermore, to precisely characterize the blow-up time, we derive sharp upper bound and lower bound estimates for the lifespan in the subcritical cases. We emphasize that our results are also new, even in the setting of higher-order differential operators on $\mathbb{R}^n$, and more generally, on stratified Lie groups.

We establish the well-posedness of the Cauchy problem for the general Caputo-type diffusion equation with a regular coefficient in the associated Sobolev-type spaces. However, it is very weakly well-posed when the diffusion coefficient has a distributional singularity. Finally, we recapture the classical solution (resp. very weak) for the general Caputo-type diffusion equation in the semi-classical limit $\hbar\to 0$.

In this paper, an attempt is made to understand the dynamics of a fractional order three species Leslie-Gower predator prey food chain model with simplified Holling type IV functional response by considering fractional derivative in Caputo Sense. First, we prove different mathematical results like existence, uniqueness, non-negativity and boundedness of the solutions of fractional order dynamical system. The dissipativeness of the solution of the FDE system is discussed. Further, we investigate the Local stability criteria of all feasible equilibrium points. Global stability of the interior equilibrium point have also been discussed here. Using realistic parameter values, numerically it has been observed that the fractional order system shows more complex dynamics, like chaos as fractional order becomes larger. Analytical results are illustrated with several examples in numerical section.

This paper is concerned with recovering the solution of a final value problem associated with a parabolic equation involving a non linear source and a non-local term, which to the best of our knowledge has not been studied earlier. It is shown that the considered problem is ill-posed, and thus, some regularization method has to be employed in order to obtain stable approximations. In this regard, we obtain regularized approximations by solving some non linear integral equations which is derived by considering a truncated version of the Fourier expansion of the sought solution. Under different Gevrey smoothness assumptions on the exact solution, we provide parameter choice strategies and obtain the error estimates. A key tool in deriving such estimates is a version of Gr{ö}nwalls' inequality for iterated integrals, which perhaps, is proposed and analysed for the first time.

This article aims at the lifetime prognosis of one-shot devices subject to competing causes of failure. Based on the failure count data recorded across several inspection times, statistical inference of the lifetime distribution is studied under the assumption of Lindley distribution. In the presence of outliers in the data set, the conventional maximum likelihood method or Bayesian estimation may fail to provide a good estimate. Therefore, robust estimation based on the weighted minimum density power divergence method is applied both in classical and Bayesian frameworks. Thereafter, the robustness behaviour of the estimators is studied through influence function analysis. Further, in density power divergence based estimation, we propose an optimization criterion for finding the tuning parameter which brings a trade-off between robustness and efficiency in estimation. The article also analyses when the cause of failure is missing for some of the devices. The analytical development has been restudied through a simulation study and a real data analysis where the data is extracted from the SEER database.

Math. Res. Not. IMRN, (12), 3548-3615, 2016) in terms of a model operator $\mathfrak{L}$. More precisely, we consider a weighted $\mathfrak{L}$-symbol class $M_{ρ, 0, Λ}^{m}, m\in \mathbb{R},$ associated to a suitable weight function $Λ$ on a countable set $\mathcal{I} $ and study elements of the symbolic calculus for pseudo-differential operators associated with $\mathfrak{L}$-symbol class $M_{ρ, 0, Λ}^{m},$ by deriving formulae for the composition, adjoint, and transpose. Using the notion of $M$-ellipticity for symbols belonging to $\mathfrak{L}$-symbol class $M_{ρ, 0, Λ}^{m}$, we construct the parametrix of $M$-elliptic pseudo-differential operators. Further, we investigate the minimal and maximal extensions for $M$-elliptic pseudo-differential operators and show that they coincide when the symbol $σ\in M_{ρ, 0, Λ}^{m}, $ is $M$-elliptic. We provide a necessary and sufficient condition to ensure that the pseudo-differential operators $T_σ$ with symbol in the $\mathfrak{L}$-symbol class $M_{ρ, 0,Λ}^{0} $ is a compact operator in $L^{2}(Ω)$ or a Riesz operator in $L^{p}(Ω).$ Finally, we prove Gärding's inequality for pseudo-differential operators associated with symbol from $M_{ρ, 0,Λ}^{0} $ in the setting of non-harmonic analysis.

Then we detect the types of local automorphic representations at bad primes by the variation of the epsilon factors of symmetric cube transfer of the representation $π$ attached to a cusp form $f$. Here we twist the modular forms by a specific quadratic character. From this variation number, for each prime $p$, we classify all possible types of symmetric cube transfers of the local representations $π_p$. For ${\rm{sym}}^3$ transfer, the most difficult prime is $p=3$.

This paper is concerned with identification of a spatial source function from final time observation in a bi-parabolic equation, where the full source function is assumed to be a product of time dependent and a space dependent function. Due to the ill-posedness of the problem, recently some authors have employed different regularization method and analysed the convergence rates. But, to the best of our knowledge, the quasi-reversibility method is not explored yet, and thus we study that in this paper. As an important implication, the H{ö}lder rates for the apriori and aposteriori error estimates obtained in this paper improve upon the rates obtained in earlier works. Also, in some cases we show that the rates obtained are of optimal order. Further, this work seems to be the first one that has broaden the applicability of the problem by allowing the time dependent component of the source function to change sign. To the best of our knowledge, the earlier known work assumed the fixed sign of the time dependent component by assuming some bounded below condition.

This paper deals with the problem of identification of a Robin coefficient (also known as impedance coefficient) in a parabolic PDE from terminal observations of the temperature distributions. The problem is ill-posed in the sense that small perturbation in the observation may lead to a large deviation in the solution. Thus, in order to obtain stable approximations, we employ the Tikhonov-regularization. We propose a weak source condition motivated by the work of Engl and Zou (2000) and obtain a convergence rate of $O(\d^\frac{1}{2})$, the main goal of this paper, where $\d$ is the noise level of the observed data. The obtained rate is better than some of the previous known rates. Moreover, the advantage of the proposed source condition is that we are getting the above mentioned convergence rate without the need for characterizing the range space of modelling operator, which is in contrast to the general convergence theory of Tikhonov-regularization for non linear operators, where one obtain the same order of convergence by characterizing the range of the adjoint of the Fr{é}chet derivative of modelling operator, a challenging task for many problems.

Over a field of characteristic $p>0$, we prove that the unipotent homotopy group schemes $π_i^{\mathrm{U}}(\,\cdot\,)$ introduced in our paper recover the unipotent Nori fundamental group scheme, the $p$-adic étale homotopy groups, as well as certain formal groups introduced by Artin and Mazur. We prove a version of the classical Freudenthal suspension theorem as well as a profiniteness theorem for unipotent homotopy group schemes. We also introduce the notion of a formal sphere and use it to show that for Calabi-Yau varieties of dimension $n$, the group schemes $π_i^{\mathrm{U}}(\,\cdot\,)$ are derived invariants for all $i \ge 0$; the case $i=n$ is related to recent work of Antieau and Bragg involving topological Hochschild homology. Using the unipotent homotopy group schemes, we establish a correspondence between formal Lie groups and certain higher algebraic structures.

It has been known for over twenty years that every lacunary sequence is strong swee** out which means that in every aperiodic dynamical system we can find a set $E$ of arbitrary small measure so that $\limsup_N\frac{1}{N} \sum_{n\le N}\mathbb{1}_E(T^nx)=1$ and $\liminf_N\frac{1}{N} \sum_{n\le N}\mathbb{1}_E(T^nx)=0$ almost everywhere. Such behavior of a sequence is known as the `strong swee** out property'. By using the same method, we will give an example of a general class of sequences which satisfy the `strong swee** out' property. This class of sequences may be useful to solve the longstanding open problem: for a given irrational $α$, whether the sequence $(n^α)$ is `pointwise bad' for $L^p$ or not. Finding the optimal dual frame and optimal dual pair for signal reconstruction, which can minimize the reconstruction error when erasure occurs during data transmission, is a deep rooted problem from the perspective of frame theory. In this paper, we consider a new measurement for the error operator by taking the average of spectral radius and operator norm with probabilistic erasure. In this measurement, optimal dual frames are called Probabilistic Averaged Spectrally Optimal Dual frames, PASOD-frames in short and optimal dual pair is called PASOD-pair. The properties of the set of PASOD-frames for a pre-selected frame, has been studied. We prove that the set of all PASOD-frames is convex, closed and compact. We also show that the image of a PASOD-frame and PASOD-pair under any unitary operator is also a PASOD-frame and PASOD-pair. We provide several equivalent conditions for the canonical dual to be the unique PASOD-frame for a given frame $F.$ Moreover, we prove non-uniqueness of PASOD-frame under certain condition of the given frame. We characterize the $C$-extremal sequences for the weight-set $S(n)=\big\{\,x\in U(n):\big(\frac{x}{n}\big)=1\,\big\}$ and for the weight-set $L(n;p)=\big\{\,x\in U(n):\big(\frac{x}{n}\big)=\big(\frac{x}{p}\big)\,\big\}$ where $p$ is a prime divisor of $n$. We can define $D$-extremal sequences for these weight-sets in a way analogous to the definition of $C$-extremal sequences. We also characterize these sequences.

Abstract:
In this paper, we prove that for $\frac{n}{2}+\frac{1}{4}<α\leq\frac{n+1}{2} $, the convolution operator $$S_α f(x)=\int_{|y| \geq 1} f(x-y)\left(|y|^{2}-1\right)^{-α} d y$$ is bounded from $L^p$ to $L^q$ for certain values of $p$ and $q$.

Abstract:
For $A\subseteq\mathbb Z_n$, the $A$-weighted Gao constant $E_A(n)$ is defined to be the smallest natural number $k$ such that any sequence of $k$ elements in $\mathbb Z_n$ has a subsequence of length $n$ whose $A$-weighted sum is zero. When $A$ is the set of all units in $\mathbb Z_n$, we determine the value of $E_A(n)$ and values of two related constants $C_A(n)$ and $D_A(n)$. We also characteri…

Abstract:
Let $\x$ be the homogeneous tree of degree $q+1~(q\geq2)$. In this article, we present symbolic criteria for boundedness of pseudo-differential operators on homogeneous tree $\x$. A sufficient condition for weak type $(p, q)$ boundedness is also given. We present necessary and sufficient conditions on the symbols $σ$ such that the corresponding pseudo-differential operators $T_σ$ from $L^{p_1} (\x)$ into $L^{p_2} (\x)$ to be nuclear for $1\leq p_1, p_2<\infty$. We show that the adjoint of the nuclear operator from $L^{p_2'}(\x)$ into $L^{p_1'}(\x)$ is again a nuclear operator. Explicit formulas for the symbol of the adjoint and product of the nuclear pseudo differential operators on $\x$ are given.
