Strong convexity for harmonic functions on compact symmetric spaces
Abstract: Let $h$ be a harmonic function defined on a spherical disk. It is shown that $Δ^k |h|^2$ is nonnegative for all $k\in \mathbb{N}$ where $Δ$ is the Laplace-Beltrami operator. This fact is generalized to harmonic functions defined on a disk in a normal homogeneous compact Riemannian manifold, and in particular in a symmetric space of the compact type. This complements a similar property for harmonic… ▽ More

Brown representability for directed graphs
Abstract: We prove that any contravariant functor from the homotopy category of finite directed graphs to abelian groups satisfying the additivity axiom and the Mayer-Vietoris axiom is representable.

Global Poincaré inequality on Graphs via Conical Curvature-Dimension Conditions
Abstract: We introduce and study the conical curvature-dimension condition, $CCD(K,N)$, for graphs. We show that $CCD(K,N)$ provides necessary and sufficient conditions for the underlying graph to satisfy a sharp global Poincaré inequality which in turn translates to a sharp lower bound for the first eigenvalues of these graphs. Another application of the conical curvature-dimension analysis is finding a sh… ▽ More
