The Eyring-Kramers Law for Extinction Time of Contact Process on Stars
Abstract: In this paper, we derive a precise estimate of the mean of the extinction time of the contact process with a fixed infection rate on a star graph with $N$ leaves. Specifically, we determine not only the exponential main factor but also the sharp sub-exponential prefactor of the asymptotic formula for the mean extinction time as $N\to\infty$. Previously, such detailed asymptotic information on the… ▽ More

Finite period vectors and Gauss sums
Abstract: We study four sums including the Jacquet--Piatetski-Shapiro--Shalika, Flicker, Bump--Friedberg, and Jacquet--Shalika sums associated to irreducible cuspidal representations of general linear groups over finite fields. By computing explicitly, we relate Asai and Bump--Friedberg gamma factors over finite fields to those over nonarchimedean local fields through level zero supercuspidal representation… ▽ More

Continuous dependence of the Cauchy problem for the inhomogeneous biharmonic NLS equation in Sobolev spaces
Abstract: In this paper, we study the continuous dependence of the Cauchy problem for the inhomogeneous biharmonic nonlinear Schrödinger (IBNLS) equation \[iu_{t} +Δ^{2} u=λ|x|^{-b}|u|^σu,~u(0)=u_{0} \in H^{s} (\mathbb R^{d}),\] in the standard sense in $H^s$, i.e. in the sense that the local solution flow is continuous $H^s\to H^s$. Here $d\in \mathbb N$, $s>0$, $λ\in \mathbb R$ and $σ>0$. To arrive at thi… ▽ More

Local coefficients and Gelfand-Graev representations for non-split covers on SL(2)
Abstract: A purely local approach has been developed by Krishnamurthy and Kutzko to compute Langlands-Shahidi local coefficient for ${\rm SL}(2)$ via types and covers à la Bushnell-Kutzko. In this paper, we extend their method to the non-split case and complete their project. We also study the algebraic structure of Gelfand-Graev representations, which generalizes the results of Chan-Savin and Mishra-Pattan… ▽ More

The local converse theorem for odd special orthogonal and symplectic groups in positive characteristic
Abstract: Let $F$ be a non-archimedean local field of characteristic different from $2$ and $G$ be either an odd special orthogonal group ${\rm SO}_{2r+1}(F)$ or a symplectic group ${\rm Sp}_{2r}(F)$. In this paper, we establish the local converse theorem for $G$. Namely, for given two irreducible admissible generic representations of $G$ with the same central character, if they have the same local gamma fa… ▽ More

Test Vectors for Archimedean Period Integrals
Abstract: We study period integrals involving Whittaker functions associated to generic irreducible Casselman-Wallach representations of $\mathrm{GL}_n(F)$, where $F$ is an archimedean local field. Via the archimedean theory of newforms for $\mathrm{GL}_n$ developed by the first author, we prove that newforms are weak test vectors for several period integrals, including the… ▽ More

The local exterior square and Asai $L$-functions for $GL(n)$ in odd characteristic
Abstract: Let $F$ be a non-archimedean local field of odd characteristic $p > 0$. In this paper, we consider local exterior square $L$-functions $L(s,π,\wedge^2)$, Bump-Friedberg $L$-functions $L(s,π,BF)$, and Asai $L$-functions $L(s,π,As)$ of an irreducible admissible representation $π$ of $GL_m(F)$. In particular, we establish that those $L$-functions, via the theory of integral representations, are equal… ▽ More

The local period integrals and essential vectors
Abstract: By applying the formula for essential Whittaker functions established by Matringe and Miyauchi, we study five integral representations for irreducible admissible generic representations of ${\rm GL}_n$ over $p$-adic fields. In each case, we show that the integrals achieve local formal $L$-functions defined by Langlands parameters, when the test vector is associated to the newform. We give the rela… ▽ More

The Langlands-Shahidi method for pairs via types and covers
Abstract: We compute the local coefficient attached to a pair $(π_1,π_2)$ of supercuspidal (complex) representations of the general linear group using the theory of types and covers à la Bushnell-Kutzko. In the process, we obtain another proof of a well-known formula of Shahidi for the corresponding Plancherel constant. Rankin-Selberg integrals for local symmetric square factors on $GL\mathrm{(2)}$

Stability of Asai local factors for $GL(2)$
Abstract: Let $F$ be a non-archimedean local field of characteristic not equal to $2$ and let $E/F$ be a quadratic algebra. We prove the stability of local factors attached to (complex) irreducible admissible representations of $GL(2,E)$ via the Rankin-Selberg method under highly ramified twists. Abstract: Let $M$ be a squarefree positive integer and $P$ a prime number coprime to $M$ such that $P\sim M^η$ with $0 < η< 2/5$. We simplify the proof of subconvexity bounds for $L(\frac{1}{2},f\otimesχ)$ when $f$ is a primitive holomorphic cusp form of level $P$ and $χ$ is a primitive Dirichlet character modulo $M$. Abstract: This paper presents a tutorial-style review on the recent results about the disturbance observer (DOB) in view of robust stabilization and recovery of the nominal performance. Periodically time-varying memory static output feedback control design for discrete-time LTI systems
Abstract: This paper addresses the problem of static output feedback (SOF) stabilization for discrete-time LTI systems. A bilinear matrix inequality (BMI) condition which uses a pre-designed PTVMSFC is developed to design the periodically time-varying memory SOF controlle… ▽ More
