Spherical amoebae and a spherical logarithm map
Abstract: Let $G$ be a connected reductive algebraic group over $\mathbb{C}$ with a maximal compact subgroup $K$. Let $G/H$ be a (quasi-affine) spherical homogeneous space. In the first part of the paper, following Akhiezer's definition of spherical functions, we introduce a $K$-invariant map $sLog_{Γ, t}: G/H \to \mathbb{R}^s$ which depends on a choice of a finite set $Γ$ of dominant weights and $s = |Γ|$.… ▽ More

On the classification of skew Hadamard matrices of order 36 and related structures
Abstract: Two skew Hadamard matrices are considered {\sf SH}-equivalent if they are similar by a signed permutation matrix. This paper determines the number of {\sf SH}-inequivalent skew Hadamard matrices of order $36$ for some types. We also study ternary self-dual codes and association schemes constructed from the skew Hadamard matrices of order $36$.

Nonexistence of certain singly even self-dual codes with minimal shadow
Abstract: It is known that there is no extremal singly even self-dual $[n,n/2,d]$ code with minimal shadow for $(n,d)=(24m+2,4m+4)$, $(24m+4,4m+4)$, $(24m+6,4m+4)$, $(24m+10,4m+4)$ and $(24m+22,4m+6)$. In this paper, we study singly even self-dual codes with minimal shadow having minimum weight $d-2$ for these $(n,d)$. For $n=24m+2$, $24m+4$ and $24m+10$, we show that the weight enumerator of a singly even… ▽ More

On the classification of $\mathbb{Z}_4$-codes
Abstract: In this note, we study the classification of $\mathbb{Z}_4$-codes. For some special cases $(k_1,k_2)$, by hand, we give a classification of $\mathbb{Z}_4$-codes of length $n$ and type $4^{k_1}2^{k_2}$ satisfying a certain condition. Our exhaustive computer search completes the classification of $\mathbb{Z}_4$-codes of lengths up to $7$.

Some restrictions on weight enumerators of singly even self-dual codes II
Abstract: In this note, we give some restrictions on the number of vectors of weight $d/2+1$ in the shadow of a singly even self-dual $[n,n/2,d]$ code. This eliminates some of the possible weight enumerators of singly even self-dual $[n,n/2,d]$ codes for $(n,d)=(62,12)$, $(72,14)$, $(82,16)$, $(90,16)$ and $(100,18)$.

Extremal Type II $\mathbb{Z}_4$-codes constructed from binary doubly even self-dual codes of length $40$
Abstract: In this note, we demonstrate that every binary doubly even self-dual code of length $40$ can be realized as the residue code of some extremal Type II $\mathbb{Z}_4$-code. As a consequence, it is shown that there are at least $94356$ inequivalent extremal Type II $\mathbb{Z}_4$-codes of length $40$.

Binary extremal self-dual codes of length $60$ and related codes
Abstract: We give a classification of four-circulant singly even self-dual $[60,30,d]$ codes for $d=10$ and $12$. These codes are used to construct extremal singly even self-dual $[60,30,12]$ codes with weight enumerator for which no extremal singly even self-dual code was previously known to exist. From extremal singly even self-dual $[60,30,12]$ codes, we also construct extremal singly even self-dual… ▽ More

Convergence of polarizations, toric degenerations, and Newton-Okounkov bodies
Abstract: Let $X$ be a smooth irreducible complex algebraic variety of dimension $n$ and $L$ a very ample line bundle on $X$. Given a toric degeneration of $(X,L)$ satisfying some natural technical hypotheses, we construct a deformation $\{J_s\}$ of the complex structure on $X$ and bases $\mathcal{B}_s$ of $H^0(X,L, J_s)$ so that $J_0$ is the standard complex structure and, in the limit as $s \to \infty$, t… ▽ More

Geometry of Hessenberg varieties with applications to Newton-Okounkov bodies
Abstract: In this paper, we study the geometry of various Hessenberg varieties in type A, as well as families thereof, with the additional goal of laying the groundwork for future computations of Newton-Okounkov bodies of Hessenberg varieties. Our main results are as follows. We find explicit and computationally convenient generators for the local defining ideals of indecomposable regular nilpotent Hessenbe… ▽ More

Performance of ternary double circulant, double twistulant, and self-dual codes
Abstract: We study the performance of ternary isodual codes which are not self-dual and ternary self-dual codes, as measured by the decoding error probability in bounded distance decoding. We compare the performance of ternary double circulant and double twistulant codes which are not self-dual with ternary extremal self-dual codes. We also investigate the performance of ternary self-dual codes having large… ▽ More
