We consider some distinguished classes of elements of a multiplicative lattice endowed with coarse lower topologies, and call them lower spaces. The primary objective of this paper is to study the topological properties of these lower spaces, encompassing lower separation axioms and compactness. We characterize lower spaces that exhibit sobriety. Introducing the concept of strongly disconnected spaces, we establish a correlation between strongly disconnected lower spaces and the presence of nontrivial idempotent elements in the corresponding multiplicative lattices. Additionally, we provide a sufficient condition for a lower space to be connected. We prove that the lower space of proper elements is a spectral space, and we further explore continuous maps between lower spaces.

In this paper, we primarily deal with approximately monotone and convex sequences. We start by showing that any sequence can be expressed as the difference between two nondecreasing sequences. One of these two monotone sequences act as the majorant of the original sequence, while the other possesses non-negativity. Another result establishes that an approximately monotone(increasing) sequence can be closely approximated by a non-decreasing sequence. A similar assertion can be made for approximately convex sequence. A sequence $\big<u_n\big>_{n=0}^{\infty}$ is said to be approximately convex (or $\varepsilon$-convex) if the following inequality holds under the mentioned assumptions \begin{equation*} u_{i}- u_{i-1}\leq u_{j}-u_{j-1}+\varepsilon\quad\quad\mbox{ where}\quad\quad i,j\in\mathbb{N} \quad \mbox{with} \quad i<j. \end{equation*} We proved that an approximately convex sequence can be written as the algebraic difference of two specific types of sequences. The initial sequence contains sequential convexity property, while the other sequence possesses the Lipschitz property. Moreover, we introduce an operator $\mathbb{T}$, that termed as a twisting operator. In a compact interval $I(\subseteq\mathbb{R})$; we characterized the convex function with this newly introduced operator. Besides various sequence decomposition results and study related to $\mathbb{T}$-operator on convex function; a characterization regarding non-negative sequential convexity, a fractional inequality, implication of $\mathbb{T}$ operator on various types of functions, relationship between a convex function and a convex sequence are also included.

We show that in a plane if any $n$ points are scattered in such a way that their horizontal and vertical distances preserve some specific monotonic properties; then those points form a $2$-dimensional convex polytope.

As a natural extension of the ongoing development of a theory of ideals in commutative quantales with an identity element, this article aims to study into the analysis of certain topological properties exhibited by distinguished classes of ideals. These ideals are equipped with quantale topologies. The primary objectives encompass characterizing quantale spaces exhibiting sobriety, examining several conditions pertaining to quasi-compactness, and demonstrating that quantale spaces comprised of proper ideals adhere to the spectral properties as defined by Hochster. We introduce the notion of a strongly disconnected spaces and show that for a quantale with zero Jacobson radical, strongly disconnected quantale spaces containing all maximal ideals of the quantale imply existence of non-trivial idempotent elements in the quantale. Additionally, a sufficient criterion for establishing the connectedness of a quantale space is presented. Finally, we discuss on continuous maps between quantale spaces.

A function $Φ: I\to {\mathbb{R_+}}$ is said to be subadditive if for any $x,y$ and $x+y\in I$, it satisfies the following inequality $$Φ(x+y)\leq Φ(x)+Φ(y).$$ In this paper, we consider this ordinary notion of subadditivity is of order $1$ and generalized the concept for any order $n$, where $n\in{\mathbb{N}}$. We establish that $n^{th}$ square root of a $n^{th}$ order subadditive function possesses ordinary subadditivity. We also introduce the notion of approximately subadditive function and showed that it can be decomposed as the algebraic summation of a subadditive and a bounded function. Another important newly introduced concept is Periodical monotonicity. A function $f:I\to{\mathbb{R}}$ is said to be periodically monotone with a period $d>0$ if the following holds $$ f(x)\leq f(y)\qquad\mbox{for all}\quad x,y\in I\qquad{with}\quad y-x\geq d. $$ One of the obtained results is that under a minimal assumption on $f$; this type of function can be decomposed as the sum of a monotone and a periodic function whose period is $d$. Towards the end of the paper, we discuss about star convexity.
A function $f: I\to{\mathbb{R}}$ is said to be star-convex if there exists a point $p\in I$ such that for any $x\in I$ and for all $t\in [0,1]$; it satisfies either one of the following conditions. $$ t(x,f(x)) +(1-t)(p,f(p))\in epi(f) \quad \mbox{or} \quad hypo(f). $$ We studied the structural properties and showed relationship of it with star convex bodies.

Due to a substantial growth in the world waterborne trade volumes and drastic changes in the global climate accounted for CO2 emissions, the ship** companies need to escalate their operational and energy efficiency. Therefore, a multi-objective mixed-integer non-linear programming (MINLP) model is proposed in this study to simultaneously determine the optimal service schedule, number of vessels in a fleet serving each route, vessel speed between two ports of call, and flow of cargo considering transshipment operations for each pair of origin-destination. This MINLP model presents a trade-off between economic and environmental aspects considering total ship** time and overall ship** cost as the two conflicting objectives. The ship** cost comprises of CO2 emission, fuel consumption and several operational costs where fuel consumption is determined using speed and load. Two efficient evolutionary algorithms: Nondominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II (NSGA-II) and Online Clustering-based Evolutionary Algorithm (OCEA) are applied to attain the near-optimal solution of the proposed problem. Furthermore, six problem instances of different sizes are solved using these algorithms to validate the proposed model.

One of the main result of the paper deals with the generalization of Classical Jordan decomposition theorem. We have shown that for $r\in]0,1]$, a function of $r$-bounded variation can be written as the difference of two monotone functions. While for $r>1$, under minimal assumptions such functions can be treated as approximately monotone function which can be closely approximated by a nondecreasing majorant. We also proved that for $0<r_1<r_2$; the function class of $r_1$-bounded variation is contained in the class of functions satisfying $r_2$-bounded variations. We go through approximately monotone functions and present a possible decomposition for $f:I(\subseteq \mathbb{R_+})\to\mathbb{R}$ satisfying the functional inequality $$f(x)\leq f(x)+(y-x)^{p}\quad (x,y\in I\mbox{ with $x<y$ and $ p\in]0,1[ $}).$$ A generalized structural study has also be done in that specific section. On the other hand for $\ell[a,b]\geq d$; a function satisfying the following monotonic condition under the given assumption will be termed as $d$-periodically increasing $$f(x)\leq f(y)\quad \mbox{for all}\quad x,y\in I\quad\mbox{with}\quad y-x\geq d.$$ we establish that in a compact interval any bounded function can be decomposed as the difference of a monotone and a $d$-periodically increasing function.

The aim of these notes is to study some of the structural aspects of the ring of arithmetical functions. We prove that this ring is neither Noetherian nor Artinian. Furthermore, we construct various types of prime ideals. We show arithmetic ring has infinite Krull dimension and its associated prime ideal set is nonempty.

We establish the existence and uniqueness of the classical solution of a non-homogeneous terminal value problem and we show that the expected value of stock price at horizon can be obtained as a classical solution of a linear partial differential equation that is a special case of the terminal value problem studied in this paper. We further analyze the market making problem using the point of view of an agent who posts the limit orders at the best price available. We use the dynamic programming principle to obtain a HJB equation. In no-risk aversion case, we obtain the value function as a classical solution of a linear pde and derive the expressions for optimal controls by solving the HJB equation.

By specializing our identity, we derive new results of combinatorial significance in connection with $N(r, s, m, n)$, a function counting certain overpartition pairs recently introduced by Bringmann, Lovejoy and Osburn. For example, one of our identities gives a closed-form evaluation of a double series in terms of Chebyshev polynomials of the second kind, thereby resulting in an analogue of Euler's pentagonal number theorem. Another of our results expresses a multi-sum involving $N(r, s, m, n)$ in terms of just the partition function $p(n)$. Using a result of Shimura we also relate a certain double series with a weight 7/2 theta series.

We consider a risk-sensitive optimization of consumption-utility on infinite time horizon where the one-period investment gain depends on an underlying economic state whose evolution over time is assumed to be described by a discrete-time, finite-state, Markov chain. We suppose that the production function also depends on a sequence of i.i.d. random shocks. For the sake of generality, the utility and the production functions are allowed to be unbounded from above. Under the Markov regime-switching model, it is shown that the value function of optimization problem satisfies an optimality equation and that the optimality equation has a unique solution in a particular class of functions. Furthermore, we show that an optimal policy exists in the class of stationary policies. We also derive the Euler equation of optimal consumption. Furthermore, the existence of the unique joint stationary distribution of the optimal growth process and the underlying regime process is examined. Finally, we present a numerical solution by considering power utility and some hypothetical values of parameters in a regime switching extension of Cobb-Douglas production rate function.

The notion of L-homologies (of double complexes) as proposed in this paper extends the notion of classical horizontal and vertical homologies, along with two other new homologies introduced in the homological diagram lemma called salamander lemma. We enumerate all L-homologies associated with an object of a double complex and provide new examples of exact sequences. We describe a classification problem of these exact sequences. We study two poset structures on these L-homologies; one of them determines the trivialities of horizontal and vertical homologies of an object in terms of other L-homologies of that object, whereas the second structure shows the significance of the two homologies introduced in salamander lemma. Finally, we prove the existence of a faithful amnestic Grothendieck fibration from the category of L-homologies to a category consisting of objects and morphisms of a given double complex.

If $f$ and $-f$ are simultaneously $Φ$-convex, then $f$ is said to be a $Φ$-affine function. In the main results of the paper, we describe the structural and inclusion properties of these two classes. We characterize these two classes of functions and investigate their relationship with approximately monotone and approximately-Hölder functions. We also introduce a subclass of error functions which enjoy the so-called $Γ$ property and we show that the error function which is the most optimal for a $Φ$-convex function has to belong to this subclass. The properties of this subclass of error function are investigated as well. Then we offer two formulas for the lower $Φ$-convex envelop. Besides, a sandwich type theorem is also added.

In the main results of the paper, using the notions of upper and lower interpolations, we establish a characterization for both classes of functions. This allows one to construct $Φ$-monotone and $Φ$-Hölder functions from elementary ones, which could be termed the building blocks for those classes. In the second part, we deduce Ostrowski- and Hermite--Hadamard-type inequalities from the $Φ$-monotonicity and $Φ$-Hölder properties, and then we verify the sharpness of these implications. We also establish implications in the reversed direction.

In this paper, we derive some formulae involving coefficients of polynomials which occur quite naturally in the study of restricted partitions. Our method involves a recently discovered sieve technique by Li and Wan (Sci. China. Math. 2010). Based on this method, by considering cyclic groups of different orders we obtain some new results for these coefficients. The general result holds for any group of the form $\mathbb{Z}_{N}$ where $N\in\mathbb{N}$ and expresses certain partial sums of coefficients in terms of expressions involving roots of unity. By specializing $N$ to different values, we see that these expressions simplify in some cases and we obtain several nice identities involving these coefficients. We also use a result of Sudler (QJMAAT 1964) to obtain an asymptotic formula for the maximum absolute value of these coefficients.
