Unexpected but recurrent phenomena for Quot and Hilbert schemes of points
Abstract: We investigate some aspects of the geometry of two classical generalisations of the Hilbert schemes of points. Precisely, we show that parity conjecture for $\text{Quot}_r^d\mathbb{A}^3$ already fails for $d=8$ and $r=2$ and that lots of the elementary components of the nested Hilbert schemes of points on smooth quasi-projective varieties of dimension at least 4 are generically non-reduced. We als… ▽ More

A counterexample to the parity conjecture
Abstract: Let $[Z]\in\text{Hilb}^d \mathbb A^3$ be a zero-dimensional subscheme of the affine three-dimensional complex space of length $d>0$. Okounkov and Pandharipande have conjectured that the dimension of the tangent space of $\text{Hilb}^d \mathbb A^3$ at $[Z]$ and $d$ have the same parity. The conjecture was proven by Maulik, Nekrasov, Okounkov and Pandharipande for points $[Z]$ defined by monomial id… ▽ More

O'Grady tenfolds as moduli spaces of sheaves
Abstract: We give a lattice-theoretic characterization for a manifold of $\mathrm{OG}10$ type to be birational to some moduli space of (twisted) sheaves on a K3 surface. We apply it to the Li-Pertusi-Zhao variety of $\mathrm{OG}10$ type associated to any smooth cubic fourfold. Moreover we determine when a birational transformation is induced by an automorphism of the K3 surface and we use this to classify a… ▽ More

Kernels of categorical resolutions of nodal singularities
Abstract: In this paper we study derived categories of nodal singularities. We show that for all nodal singularities there is a categorical resolution whose kernel is generated by a $2$ or $3$-spherical object, depending on the dimension. We apply this result to the case of nodal cubic fourfolds, where we describe the kernel generator of the categorical resolution as an object in the bounded derived categor… ▽ More

Hodge structure of O'Grady's singular moduli spaces
Abstract: We investigate the Hodge structure of the singular O'Grady's six and ten dimensional examples of irreducible symplectic varieties. In particular, we compute some of their Betti numbers and their Euler characteristic. As consequence, we deduce that these varieties do not have finite quotient singularities answering a question of Bakker and Lehn.

On the period of Li, Pertusi and Zhao's symplectic variety
Abstract: We extend classical results of Perego and Rapagnetta on moduli spaces of sheaves of type OG10 to moduli spaces of Bridgeland semistable objects on the Kuznetsov component of a cubic fourfold. In particular, we determine the period of this class of varieties and use it to understand when they become birational to moduli spaces of sheaves on a K3 surface.

On the uniruled Voisin divisor on the LLSvS variety
Abstract: Let $Y$ be a smooth cubic fourfold, $F$ be its Fano variety of lines and $Z$ be its associated LLSvS variety, parametrizing families of twisted cubics and some of their degenerations. In this short note, we show that the divisor of singular cubic surfaces on $Z$ has two irreducible components, one of which coincides with the uniruled branch divisor of a resolution of the Voisin map… ▽ More

On the period of Lehn, Lehn, Sorger, and van Straten's symplectic eightfold
Abstract: For the irreducible holomorphic symplectic eightfold Z associated to a cubic fourfold Y not containing a plane, we show that a natural Abel-Jacobi map from H^4_prim(Y) to H^2_prim(Z) is a Hodge isometry. We describe the full H^2(Z) in terms of the Mukai lattice of the K3 category A of Y. We give numerical conditions for Z to be birational to a moduli space of sheaves on a K3 surface or to Hilb^4(K… ▽ More
