Fractional diffusion and Fokker-Planck equations are widely used tools to describe anomalous diffusion in a large variety of complex systems. The equivalent formulations in terms of Caputo or Riemann-Liouville fractional derivatives can be derived as continuum limits of continuous time random walks and are associated with the Mittag-Leffler relaxation of Fourier modes, interpolating between a short-time stretched exponential and a long-time inverse power-law scaling. More recently, a number of other integro-differential operators have been proposed, including the Caputo-Fabrizio and Atangana-Baleanu forms. Moreover, the conformable derivative has been introduced. We here study the dynamics of the associated generalized Fokker-Planck equations from the perspective of the moments, the time averaged mean squared displacements, and the autocovariance functions. We also study generalized Langevin equations based on these generalized operators. The differences between the Fokker-Planck and Langevin equations with different integro-differential operators are discussed and compared with the dynamic behavior of established models of scaled Brownian motion and fractional Brownian motion. We demonstrate that the integro-differential operators with exponential and Mittag-Leffler kernels are not suitable to be introduced to Fokker-Planck and Langevin equations for the physically relevant diffusion scenarios discussed in our paper. The conformable and Caputo Langevin equations are unveiled to share similar properties with scaled and fractional Brownian motion, respectively.

A universal finite system-size scaling analysis of the entanglement entropy is presented for highly degenerate ground states arising from spontaneous symmetry breaking with type-B Goldstone modes in exactly solvable one-dimensional quantum many-body systems. These states appear to be scale-invariant, but not conformally invariant. Our findings are based on a physical argument, imposing three constraints on the entanglement entropy, in addition to further confirmation from an asymptotic analysis of the entanglement entropy for the ${\rm SU}(2)$ spin-$1/2$ ferromagnetic states. The resulting universal scaling form is demonstrated for three fundamental models -- the ${\rm SU}(2)$ spin-$s$ Heisenberg ferromagnetic model, the ${\rm SU}(N+1)$ ferromagnetic model, and the staggered ${\rm SU}(3)$ spin-1 ferromagnetic biquadratic model. The results point towards a classification for distinct types of scale-invariant states, relevant to a complete classification of quantum states of matter.

Ferromagnetic ground states have often been overlooked in comparison to seemingly more interesting antiferromagnetic ground states. However, both the physical and mathematical structure of ferromagnetic ground states are particularly rich. We show that the highly degenerate and highly entangled ground states of the ferromagnetic spin-1 biquadratic model are scale invariant, originating from spontaneous symmetry breaking from ${\rm SU}(3)$ to ${\rm U}(1)\times {\rm U}(1)$ with two type-B Goldstone modes. The ground state degeneracies are characterized as the Fibonacci-Lucas sequences -- an ancient mathematical gem, under open and periodic boundary conditions, with the residual entropy being non-zero. This implies that the ground state degeneracies for this model are asymptotically the golden spiral. In addition, sequences of degenerate ground states generated from highest and generalized highest weight states are constructed to establish that the entanglement entropy scales logarithmically with the block size in the thermodynamic limit, with the prefactor being half the number of type-B Goldstone modes. The latter in turn is identified to be the fractal dimension.

The hallmark of symmetry-protected topological (SPT) phases is the existence of anomalous boundary states, which can only be realized with the corresponding bulk system. In this work, we show that for every Hermitian anomalous boundary mode of the ten Altland-Zirnbauer classes, a non-Hermitian counterpart can be constructed, whose long time dynamics provides a realization of the anomalous boundary state. We prove that the non-Hermitian counterpart is characterized by a point-gap topological invariant, and furthermore, that the invariant exactly matches that of the corresponding Hermitian anomalous boundary mode. We thus establish a correspondence between the topological classifications of $(d+1)$-dimensional gapped Hermitian systems and $d$-dimensional point-gapped non-Hermitian systems. We illustrate this general result with a number of examples in different dimensions. This work provides a new perspective on point-gap topological invariants in non-Hermitian systems.

In this paper, by considering the potential application in two mode nonlinear waves in nonlinear fibers under a certain case, we define a coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equation(called Frobenius NLS equation) including its Lax pair. Afterwards, we construct the Darboux transformations of the Frobenius NLS equation. New solutions can be obtained from known seed solutions by the Dardoux transformations. Soliton solutions are generated from trivial seed solutions. Also we derive breather solutions $q,r$ of the Frobenius NLS equation obtained from periodic seed solutions. Interesting enough, we find the amplitudes of $r$ vary in size in different areas with period-like fluctuations in the background. This is very different from the solution $q$ of the single-component classical nonlinear Schrödinger equation. Then, the rogue waves of the Frobenius NLS equation are given explicitly by a Taylor series expansion about the breather solutions $q,r$. Also the graph of rogue wave solution $r$ shows that the rogue wave has fluctuations around the peak. The reason of this phenomenon should be in the dynamical dependence of $r$ on $q$ which is independent on $r$.

We consider a nonlinear Schrödinger system arising in a two-component Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) with attractive intraspecies interactions and repulsive interspecies interactions in $\mathbb{R}^2$. We get ground states of this system by solving a constrained minimization problem. For some kinds of trap** potentials, we prove that the minimization problem has a minimizer if and only if the attractive interaction strength $a_i (i=1,2)$ of each component of the BEC system is strictly less than a threshold $a^*$. %attractive intraspecies interactions satisfies $a_i< %a^*= \|Q\|_2^2,\ i=1,\,2$, where $Q$ is the unique positive radial solution of $Δu-u+u^3=0$ in $\mathbb{R}^2$; in contrast, there is no minimizer if either $a_i > a^*$ for $i=1$ or $2$, or $a_1=a_2=a^*$. Furthermore, as $(a_1, a_2)\nearrow (a^*, a^*)$, the asymptotical behavior for the minimizers of the minimization problem is discussed. Our results show that each component of the BEC system concentrates at a global minimum of the associated trap** potential.

In this paper, we consider similar matters on a finite graph. By using discrete optimal transport and its corresponding Nelson's approach, we derive a discrete Schrodinger equation on a finite graph. The proposed system is quite different from the commonly referred discretized Schrodinger equations. It is a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) with many desirable properties. We consider the nonlinear problem of determining a connection and a Higgs field from the corresponding parallel transport along geodesics on a Riemannian manifold with boundary, in any dimension. The problem can be reduced to an integral geometry question of some attenuated geodesic ray transform through a pseudolinearization argument. We show injectivity (up to natural obstructions) and stability estimates for both the linear and nonlinear problems for generic simple metrics and generic connections and Higgs fields, including the real-analytic ones. We consider the problems on simple manifolds in order to make the exposition of the main ideas clear and concise, many results of this paper are still true under much weaker geometric assumptions, in particular conjugate points and trapped geodesics are allowed and the boundary is not necessarily convex.

Consider a compact Riemannian manifold of dimension $\geq 3$ with strictly convex boundary, such that the manifold admits a strictly convex function. We show that the attenuated ray transform in the presence of an arbitrary connection and Higgs field is injective modulo the natural obstruction for functions and one-forms. We also show that the connection and the Higgs field are uniquely determined by the scattering relation modulo gauge transformations. The proofs involve a reduction to a local result showing that the geodesic X-ray transform with a matrix weight can be inverted locally near a point of strict convexity at the boundary, and a detailed analysis of layer strip** arguments based on strictly convex exhaustion functions. As a somewhat striking corollary, we show that these integral geometry problems can be solved on strictly convex manifolds of dimension $\geq 3$ having non-negative sectional curvature (similar results were known earlier in negative sectional curvature). We also apply our methods to solve some inverse problems in quantum state tomography and polarization tomography.

This paper is concerned with the properties of $L^2$-normalized minimizers of the Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) functional for a two-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensate with attractive interaction and ring-shaped potential. By establishing some delicate estimates on the least energy of the GP functional, we prove that symmetry breaking occurs for the minimizers of the GP functional as the interaction strength $a>0$ approaches a critical value $a^*$, each minimizer of the GP functional concentrates to a point on the circular bottom of the potential well and then is non-radially symmetric as $a\nearrow a^*$. However, when $a>0$ is suitably small we prove that the minimizers of the GP functional are unique, and this unique minimizer is radially symmetric.

The Kolmogorov scaling law of turbulences has been considered the most important theoretical breakthrough in the last century. It is an essential approach to analyze turbulence data present in meteorological, physical, chemical, biological and mechanical phenomena. One of its very fundamental assumptions is that turbulence is a stochastic Gaussian process in small scales5. However, experiment data at finite Reynolds numbers have observed a clear departure from the Gaussian. In this study, by replacing the standard Laplacian representation of dissipation in the Navier-Stokes (NS) equation with the fractional Laplacian, we obtain the fractional NS equation underlying the Levy stable distribution which exhibits a non-Gaussian heavy trail and fractional frequency power law dissipation. The dimensional analysis of this equation turns out a new scaling of turbulences, called the Levy-Kolmogorov scaling, whose scaling exponent ranges from -3 to -5/3 corresponding to different Levy processes and reduces to the limiting Kolmogorov scaling -5/3 underlying a Gaussian process. The truncated Levy process and multi-scaling due to the boundary effect is also discussed. Finally, we further extend our model to reflecting the history-dependent fractional Brownian motion.
