The Tambara-Yamagami (TY) fusion category symmetry $\text{TY}(\mathbb{A},χ,ε)$ describes the enhanced non-invertible self-duality symmetry of a $2$-dim QFT under gauging a finite Abelian group $\mathbb{A}$. We generalize the enhanced non-invertible symmetries by considering twisted gauging which allows stacking $\mathbb{A}$-SPT before and after the gauging. Such non-invertible symmetries correspond to invertible anyon permutation symmetries of the $3$-dim SymTFT. Consider a finite group $G$ formed by (un)twisted gaugings of $\mathbb{A}$, a $2$-dim QFT invariant under topological manipulations in $G$ admits non-invertible $\textit{$G$-ality defects}$. We study the classification and the physical implication of the $G$-ality defects using SymTFT and the group-theoretical fusion categories, with three concrete examples. 1) Triality with $\mathbb{A} = \mathbb{Z}_N \times \mathbb{Z}_N$ where $N$ is coprime with $3$. The classification is acquired previously by Jordan and Larson where the data is similar to the $\text{TY}$ fusion categories, and we determine the anomaly of these fusion categories. 2) $p$-ality with $\mathbb{A} = \mathbb{Z}_p \times \mathbb{Z}_p$ where $p$ is an odd prime. We consider two such categories $\mathcal{P}_{\pm,m}$ which are distinguished by different choices of the symmetry fractionalization, a new data that does not appear in the TY classification, and show that they have distinct anomaly structures and spin selection rules. 3) $S_3$-ality with $\mathbb{A} = \mathbb{Z}_N \times \mathbb{Z}_N$. We study their classification explicitly for $N < 20$ via SymTFT, and provide a group-theoretical construction for certain $N$. We find $N=5$ is the minimal $N$ to admit an $S_3$-ality and $N=11$ is the minimal $N$ to admit a group-theoretical $S_3$-ality.

In spacetime dimensions of 4D (i.e., 3+1D) and higher, topological orders exhibit spatially extended excitations like loops and membranes, which support diverse topological data characterizing braiding, fusion, and shrinking processes, despite the absence of anyons. Our understanding of these topological data remains less mature compared to 3D, where anyons have been extensively studied and can be fully described through diagrammatic representations. Inspired by recent advancements in field theory descriptions of higher-dimensional topological orders, this paper systematically constructs diagrammatic representations for 4D and 5D topological orders, generalizable to higher dimensions. We introduce elementary diagrams for fusion and shrinking processes, treating them as vectors in fusion and shrinking spaces, respectively, and build complex diagrams by combining these elementary diagrams. Within these vector spaces, we design unitary operations represented by \(F\)-, \(Δ\)-, and \(Δ^2\)-symbols to transform between different bases. We uncover \textit{pentagon equations} and \textit{(hierarchical) shrinking-fusion hexagon equations} that impose constraints on the legitimate forms of these unitary operations. We conjecture that all anomaly-free higher-dimensional topological orders must satisfy these conditions, with any violations indicating a quantum anomaly. This work opens promising avenues for future research, including the exploration of diagrammatic representations involving braiding and implications for noninvertible symmetries and Symmetry Topological Field Theory.

Hagedorn functions are carefully constructed generalizations of Hermite functions to the setting of many-dimensional squeezed and coupled harmonic systems. Wavepackets formed by superpositions of Hagedorn functions have been successfully used to solve the time-dependent Schrödinger equation exactly in harmonic systems and variationally in anharmonic systems. For evaluating typical observables, such as position or kinetic energy, it is sufficient to consider orthonormal Hagedorn functions with a single Gaussian center. Here, we instead derive various relations between Hagedorn bases associated with different Gaussians, including their overlaps, which are necessary for evaluating quantities nonlocal in time, such as time correlation functions needed for computing spectra. First, we use the Bogoliubov transformation to obtain commutation relations between the ladder operators associated with different Gaussians. Then, instead of using numerical quadrature, we employ these commutation relations to derive exact recurrence relations for the overlap integrals between Hagedorn functions with different Gaussian centers. Finally, we present numerical experiments that demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of our algebraic method as well as its suitability to treat problems in spectroscopy and chemical dynamics.

Using neural networks to solve partial differential equations (PDEs) is gaining popularity as an alternative approach in the scientific computing community. Neural networks can integrate different types of information into the loss function. These include observation data, governing equations, and variational forms, etc. These loss functions can be broadly categorized into two types: observation data loss directly constrains and measures the model output, while other loss functions indirectly model the performance of the network, which can be classified as model loss. However, this alternative approach lacks a thorough understanding of its underlying mechanisms, including theoretical foundations and rigorous characterization of various phenomena. This work focuses on investigating how different loss functions impact the training of neural networks for solving PDEs. We discover a stable loss-jump phenomenon: when switching the loss function from the data loss to the model loss, which includes different orders of derivative information, the neural network solution significantly deviates from the exact solution immediately. Further experiments reveal that this phenomenon arises from the different frequency preferences of neural networks under different loss functions. We theoretically analyze the frequency preference of neural networks under model loss. This loss-jump phenomenon provides a valuable perspective for examining the underlying mechanisms of neural networks in solving PDEs.

Matrix geometric means between two positive definite matrices can be defined equivalently from distinct perspectives - as solutions to certain nonlinear systems of equations, as points along geodesics in Riemannian geometry, and as solutions to certain optimisation problems. This diversity already suggests the potential for varied applications, as well as acting as a bridge between different domains. Here we devise new quantum subroutines to efficiently prepare quantum unitary operators that embed the standard matrix geometric mean and its generalisations called the weighted matrix geometric mean. This enables the construction of solutions to the algebraic Riccati equation, which is an important class of nonlinear systems of equations that appears in machine learning, optimal control, estimation, and filtering. Using these subroutines, we present a new class of quantum learning algorithms called quantum geometric mean metric learning. This has applications in efficiently finding the best distance measure and solving classification problems in the weakly supervised limit and for anomaly detection, for both classical and quantum problems. We also show how our method can be generalised to a particular p^th-order system of nonlinear equations. These quantum subroutines for matrix geometric means are also useful in other areas of quantum information. For example, we show how to use them in the estimation of geometric Renyi relative entropies and the Uhlmann fidelity by means of the Fuchs-Caves observable. In particular, our quantum algorithms for estimating the Uhlmann and Matsumoto fidelities have optimal dependence on the precision. Finally, we provide a BQP-complete problem based on matrix geometric means that can be solved by our subroutines, thus characterising their computational capability.

We consider a system of $N$ bosons interacting in a three-dimensional box endowed with periodic boundary condition that is strongly confined in one direction such that the normalized thickness of the box $d\ll1$. We assume particles to interact through a repulsive, radially symmetric and short-range interaction potential with scattering length scale $a\ll d$. We present a comprehensive study of such system in the Gross-Pitaevskii regime, up to the second order ground state energy, starting from proving optimal Bose-Einstein condensation results which were not previously available. The fine interplay between the parameters $N$, $a$ and $d$ generates three regions. Our result in one region on the one hand, is compatible with the classical three-dimensional Lee-Huang-Yang formula. On the other hand, it reveals a new mechanism exhibiting how the second order correction compensates and modifies the first order energy, which was previously thought of as containing a jump, and thus explains how a three-dimensional Bose gas system smoothly transits into two-dimensional system. Moreover, delving into the analysis of this new mechanism exclusive to the second order, we discover a dimensional coupling correlation effect, deeply buried away from the expected 3D and quasi-2D renormalizations, and calculate a new second order correction to the ground state energy.

Recent studies have established a connection between the macroscopic mechanical response of polymeric materials and the statistics of the shortest path (SP) length between distant nodes in the polymer network. Since these statistics can be costly to compute and difficult to study theoretically, we introduce a branching random walk (BRW) model to describe the SP statistics from the coarse-grained molecular dynamics (CGMD) simulations of polymer networks. We postulate that the first passage time (FPT) of the BRW to a given termination site can be used to approximate the statistics of the SP between distant nodes in the polymer network. We develop a theoretical framework for studying the FPT of spatial branching processes and obtain an analytical expression for estimating the FPT distribution as a function of the cross-link density. We demonstrate by extensive numerical calculations that the distribution of the FPT of the BRW model agrees well with the SP distribution from the CGMD simulations. The theoretical estimate and the corresponding numerical implementations of BRW provide an efficient way of approximating the SP distribution in a polymer network. Our results have the physical meaning that by accounting for the realistic topology of polymer networks, extensive bond-breaking is expected to occur at a much smaller stretch than that expected from idealized models assuming periodic network structures. Our work presents the first analysis of polymer networks as a BRW and sets the framework for develo** a generalizable spatial branching model for studying the macroscopic evolution of polymeric systems.

In this work, we consider an inverse potential problem in the parabolic equation, where the unknown potential is a space-dependent function and the used measurement is the final time data. The unknown potential in this inverse problem is parameterized by deep neural networks (DNNs) for the reconstruction scheme. First, the uniqueness of the inverse problem is proved under some regularities assumption on the input sources. Then we propose a new loss function with regularization terms depending on the derivatives of the residuals for partial differential equations (PDEs) and the measurements. These extra terms effectively induce higher regularity in solutions so that the ill-posedness of the inverse problem can be handled. Moreover, we establish the corresponding generalization error estimates rigorously. Our proofs exploit the conditional stability of the classical linear inverse source problems, and the mollification on the noisy measurement data which is set to reduce the perturbation errors. Finally, the numerical algorithm and some numerical results are provided.

As a series of work about 5D (spacetime) topological orders, here we employ the path-integral formalism of 5D topological quantum field theory (TQFT) established in Zhang and Ye, JHEP 04 (2022) 138 to explore non-Abelian fusion rules, hierarchical shrinking rules and quantum dimensions of particle-like, loop-like and membrane-like topological excitations in 5D topological orders. To illustrate, we focus on a prototypical example of twisted $BF$ theories that comprise the twisted topological terms of the $BBA$ type. First, we classify topological excitations by establishing equivalence classes among all gauge-invariant Wilson operators. Then, we compute fusion rules from the path-integral and find that fusion rules may be non-Abelian; that is, the fusion outcome can be a direct sum of distinct excitations. We further compute shrinking rules. Especially, we discover exotic hierarchical structures hidden in shrinking processes of 5D or higher: a membrane is shrunk into particles and loops, and the loops are subsequently shrunk into a direct sum of particles. We obtain the algebraic structure of shrinking coefficients and fusion coefficients. We compute the quantum dimensions of all excitations and find that sphere-like membranes and torus-like membranes differ not only by their shapes but also by their quantum dimensions. We further study the algebraic structure that determines anomaly-free conditions on fusion coefficients and shrinking coefficients. Besides $BBA$, we explore general properties of all twisted terms in $5$D. Together with braiding statistics reported before, the theoretical progress here paves the way toward characterizing and classifying topological orders in higher dimensions where topological excitations consist of both particles and spatially extended objects.

Quantum loop models are well studied objects in the context of lattice gauge theories and topological quantum computing. They usually carry long range entanglement that is captured by the topological entanglement entropy. I consider generalization of the toric code model to bicolor loop models and show that the long range entanglement can be reflected in three different ways: a topologically invariant constant, a sub-leading logarithmic correction to the area law, or a modified bond dimension for the area-law term. The Hamiltonians are not exactly solvable for the whole spectra, but admit a tower of area-law exact excited states corresponding to the frustration free superposition of loop configurations with arbitrary pairs of localized vertex defects. The continuity of color along loops imposes kinetic constraints on the model and results in Hilbert space fragmentation, unless plaquette operators involving two neighboring faces are introduced to the Hamiltonian.

We study algorithms for recursively creating arbitrary N-extended `supermultiplets' given minimal matrix representations of off-shell, N = 1 supermultiplet matrices. We observe connections between the color vertex problems in graph theory and the different supermultiplet sets locations in the permutahedron by using the concepts of truncation and chromatic number. The concept of `hop** operators' is introduced, constructed, and then used to partition the 8! vertices of the permutahedron. We explicitly partition these into 5,040 octets constrained in locations on the permutahedron by a magic number rule. Boolean factors in this recursive construction are shown to obey a doubly even binary flip rule. Although these hop** operators do not generally constitute normal subgroups of the permutation group, we find that `ab-normal cosets' exist where the same left- and right-hoppers appear as unordered sets. We study the mean-field and semiclassical limit of the quantum many-body dynamics with a repulsive $δ$-type potential $N^{3β}V(N^βx)$ and a Coulomb potential, which leads to a macroscopic fluid equation, the Euler-Poisson equation with pressure. We prove quantitative strong convergence of the quantum mass and momentum densities up to the first blow up time of the limiting equation. The main ingredient is a functional inequality on the $δ$-type potential for the almost optimal case $β\in(0,1)$, for which we give an analysis of the singular correlation structure between particles.

We study perfect matchings, or close-packed dimer coverings, of finite sections of the eleven Archimedean lattices and give a constructive proof showing that any two perfect matchings can be transformed into each other using small sets of local ring-exchange moves. This result has direct consequences for formulating quantum dimer models with a resonating valence bond ground state, i.e., a superposition of all dimer coverings compatible with the boundary conditions. On five of the composite Archimedean lattices we supplement the sufficiency proof with translationally invariant reference configurations that prove the strict necessity of the sufficient terms with respect to ergodicity. We provide examples of and discuss frustration-free deformations of the quantum dimer models on two tripartite lattices.

Exotic entanglement entropy scaling properties usually come with interesting entanglement structures in real space and novel metrics of the spacetime lattice. One prominent example is the rainbow chain where lattice sites symmetric about the center form entangled Bell pairs due to an effective long-range coupling from the strong inhomogeneity of the coupling strength. This manuscript generalizes the rainbow chain to higher dimensional space on lattices with Hausdorff dimension one and enlarged local Hilbert space kee** the Hamiltonian frustration free. The effective Hamiltonian from the Schrieffer-Wolf transformation is given by a stacking of layers of $k$-simplices with $0$-dimensional (fully-connected) antiferromagnetic Hamiltonians, which can be diagonalized analytically with Young operators. The original lattice can be obtained from proliferating disinclination defects in a regular $k$-dimensional cubical lattice, which introduces curvature at the center of the lattice. The model interpolates between the SYK model and the free-fermionic XX spin chain, and hence might be potentially useful in understanding black hole physics and holography.

The Active Brownian Particle (ABP) model exemplifies a wide class of active matter particles. In this work, we demonstrate how this model can be cast into a field theory in both two and three dimensions. Our aim is manifold: we wish both to extract useful features of the system, as well as to build a framework which can be used to study more complex systems involving ABPs, such as those involving interaction. Using the two-dimensional model as a template, we calculate the mean squared displacement exactly, and the one-point density in an external potential perturbatively. We show how the effective diffusion constant appears in the barometric density formula to leading order, and determine the corrections to it. We repeat the calculation in three dimensions, clearly a more challenging setup. Comparing different ways to capture the self-propulsion, we find that its perturbative treatment results in more tractable derivations without loss of exactness, where this is accessible.

We generalize the area-law violating models of Fredkin and Motzkin spin chains into two dimensions by building quantum six- and nineteen-vertex models with correlated interactions. The Hamiltonian is frustration free, and its projectors generate ergodic dynamics within the subspace of height configuration that are non negative. The ground state is a volume- and color-weighted superposition of classical bi-color vertex configurations with non-negative heights in the bulk and zero height on the boundary. The entanglement entropy between subsystems has a phase transition as the $q$-deformation parameter is tuned, which is shown to be robust in the presence of an external field acting on the color degree of freedom. The ground state undergoes a quantum phase transition between area- and volume-law entanglement phases with a critical point where entanglement entropy scales as a function $L\log L$ of the linear system size $L$. Intermediate power law scalings between $L\log L$ and $L^2$ can be achieved with an inhomogeneous deformation parameter that approaches 1 at different rates in the thermodynamic limit. For the $q>1$ phase, we construct a variational wave function that establishes an upper bound on the spectral gap that scales as $q^{-L^3/8}$.

While volume violation of area law has been exhibited in several quantum spin chains, the construction of a corresponding model in higher dimensions, with isotropic terms, has been an open problem. Here we construct a 2D frustration-free Hamiltonian with maximal violation of the area law. We do so by building a quantum model of random surfaces with color degree of freedom that can be viewed as a collection of colored Dyck paths. The Hamiltonian may be viewed as a 2D generalization of the Fredkin spin chain. Its action is shown to be ergodic within the Hilbert subspace of zero fixed Dirichlet boundary condition and positive height function in the bulk and exhibits a non-degenerate ground state. Its entanglement entropy between subsystems exhibits an entanglement phase transition as the deformation parameter is tuned. The area- and volume-law phases are similar to the one-dimensional model, while the critical point scales with the linear size of the system $L$ as $L\log L$. Similar models can be built in higher dimensions with even softer area law violations at the critical point.

We propose and study the graph-theoretical problem EXISTS-PMVC: the existence of perfect matching under vertex-color constraints on graphs with bi-colored edges. EXISTS-PMVC is of special interest because of its motivation from quantum-state identification and quantum-experiment design, as well as its rich expressiveness, i.e., EXISTS-PMVC naturally subsumes important constrained matching problems, such as exact perfect matching. We give complexity and algorithmic results for EXISTS-PMVC under two types of vertex color constraints: (1) decision-diagram constraints (EXISTS-PMVC-DD) and (2) symmetric constraints (EXISTS-PMVC-Sym).
For EXISTS-PMVC-DD, we reveal its NP-hardness by a graph-gadget technique. We prove that EXISTS-PMVC-Sym with a bounded number of colors (EXISTS-PMVC-Sym-Bounded) is polynomially equivalent with Exact Perfect Matching (XPM), which implies that EXISTS-PMVC-Sym-Bounded is in RNC on general graphs and PTIME on planar graphs. Directly applying algorithms for XPM to solve EXISTS-PMVC-Sym-Bounded is, however, impractical. We propose algorithms that natively handle EXISTS-PMVC-Sym-Bounded with considerably better complexity. Our novel results for EXISTS-PMVC provide insights into both constrained matching and scalable quantum experiment design.

Based on the mathematical-physical model of pavement mechanics, a multilayer elastic system with interlayer friction conditions is constructed. Given the complex boundary conditions, the corresponding variational inequalities of the partial differential equations are derived, so that the problem can be analyzed under the variational framework. First, the existence and uniqueness of the solution of the variational inequality is proved; then the approximation error of the numerical solution based on the finite element method is analyzed, and when the finite element space satisfies certain approximation conditions, the convergence of the numerical solution is proved; finally, in the trivial finite element space, the convergence order of the numerical solution is derived. The above conclusions provide basic theoretical support for solving the displacement-strain problem of multilayer elastic systems under the framework of variational inequalities.

We consider a quantum fully packed loop model on the square lattice with a frustration-free projector Hamiltonian and ring-exchange interactions acting on plaquettes. A boundary Hamiltonian is added to favour domain-wall boundary conditions and link ground state properties to the combinatorics and six-vertex model literature. We discuss how the boundary term fractures the Hilbert space into Krylov subspaces, and we prove that the Hamiltonian is ergodic within each subspace, leading to a series of energy-equidistant exact eigenstates in the lower end of the spectrum. Among them we systematically classify both finitely entangled eigenstates and product eigenstates. Using a recursion relation for enumerating half-plane configurations, we compute numerically the exact entanglement entropy of the ground state, confirming area law scaling. Finally, the spectrum is shown to be gapless in the thermodynamic limit with a trial state constructed by adding a twist to the ground state superposition.

We present a one-dimensional multi-component model, known to be partially integrable when restricted to the subspaces made of only two components. By constructing fully anti-symmetrized bases, we find integrable excited eigenstates corresponding to the totally anti-symmetric irreducible representation of the permutation operator in the otherwise non-integrable subspaces. We establish rigorously the breakdown of integrability in those subspaces by showing explicitly the violation of the Yang-Baxter's equation. We further solve the constraints from Yang-Baxter's equation to find exceptional momenta that allows Bethe Ansatz solutions of solitonic bound states. These integrable eigenstates have distinct dynamical consequence from the embedded integrable subspaces previously known, as they do not span their separate Krylov subspaces, and a generic initial state can partly overlap with them and therefore have slow thermalization. However, this novel form of weak ergodicity breaking contrasts that of quantum many-body scars in that the integrable eigenstates involved do not have necessarily low entanglement. Our approach provides a complementary route to arrive at quantum many-body scars since, instead of solving towers of single mode excited states based on a solvable ground state in a non-integrable model, we identify the integrable eigenstates that survive in a deformation of the Hamiltonian away from its integrable point.

We prove rigorously that the compressible Euler equation is the limit as the particle number tends to infinity and the Planck's constant tends to zero. We establish strong and quantitative microscopic to macroscopic convergence of mass and momentum densities up to the 1st blow up time of the limiting Euler equation. We justify that the macroscopic pressure emerges from the space-time averages of microscopic interactions, which are in fact, Strichartz-type bounds. We have hence found a physical meaning for Strichartz type bounds which were first raised by Klainerman and Machedon in this context.

Anderson localization is a famous wave phenomenon that describes the absence of diffusion of waves in a disordered medium. Here we generalize the landscape theory of Anderson localization to general elliptic operators and complex boundary conditions using a probabilistic approach, and further investigate some mathematical aspects of Anderson localization that are rarely discussed before. First, we observe that under the Neumann boundary condition, the low energy quantum states are localized on the boundary of the domain with high probability. We provide a detailed explanation of this phenomenon using the concept of extended subregions and obtain an analytical expression of this probability in the one-dimensional case. Second, we find that the quantum states may be localized in multiple different subregions with high probability in the one-dimensional case and we derive an explicit expression of this probability for various boundary conditions. Finally, we examine a bifurcation phenomenon of the localization subregion as the strength of disorder varies. The critical threshold of bifurcation is analytically computed based on a toy model and the dependence of the critical threshold on model parameters is analyzed.

For initial condition $u_0(x)$ to (pBO) close to $Q_{0,1}(x)$, it was shown in a previous work by Z. Zhang that the solution $u(x,t)$ to (pBO) remains close to $Q_{a(t),c(t)}(x)$ and approximate parameter dynamics for $(a,c)$ were provided, on a dynamically relevant time scale. In this paper, we prove exact $(a,c)$ parameter dynamics. This is achieved using the basic framework of the previous work by Z. Zhang but adding a local virial estimate for the linearization of (pBO) around the soliton. This is a local-in-space estimate averaged in time, often called a local smoothing estimate, showing that effectively the remainder function in the perturbation analysis is smaller near the soliton than globally in space. A weaker version of this estimate is proved in a paper by Kenig & Martel as part of a "linear Liouville" result, and we have adapted and extended their proof for our application.

Topological orders are a prominent paradigm for describing quantum many-body systems without symmetry-breaking orders. We present a topological quantum field theoretical (TQFT) study on topological orders in five-dimensional spacetime ($5$D) in which \textit{topological excitations} include not only point-like \textit{particles}, but also two types of spatially extended objects: closed string-like \textit{loops} and two-dimensional closed \textit{membranes}. Especially, membranes have been rarely explored in the literature of topological orders. By introducing higher-form gauge fields, we construct exotic TQFT actions that include mixture of two distinct types of $BF$ topological terms and many twisted topological terms. The gauge transformations are properly defined and utilized to compute level quantization and classification of TQFTs. Among all TQFTs, some are not in Dijkgraaf-Witten cohomological classification. To characterize topological orders, we concretely construct all braiding processes among topological excitations, which leads to very exotic links formed by closed spacetime trajectories of particles, loops, and membranes. For each braiding process, we construct gauge-invariant Wilson operators and calculate the associated braiding statistical phases. As a result, we obtain expressions of link invariants all of which have manifest geometric interpretation. Following Wen's definition, the boundary theory of a topological order exhibits gravitational anomaly. We expect that the characterization and classification of 5D topological orders in this paper encode information of 4D gravitational anomaly. Further consideration, e.g., putting TQFTs on 5D manifolds with boundaries, is left to future work.

We consider the cubic and quintic nonlinear Schrödinger equations (NLS) under the $\mathbb{R}^{d}$ and $\mathbb{T}^{d}$ energy-supercritical setting. Via a newly developed unified scheme, we prove the unconditional uniqueness for solutions to NLS at critical regularity for all dimensions. Thus, together with [18,19], the unconditional uniqueness problems for $H^{1}$-critical and $H^{1}$-supercritical cubic and quintic NLS are completely and uniformly resolved at critical regularity for these domains. One application of our theorem is to prove that defocusing blowup solutions of the type in [54] is the only possible $C([0,T);\dot{H}^{s_{c}})$ solution if exist in these domains.

Braiding phases among topological excitations are key data for physically characterizing topological orders. In this paper, we provide a field-theoretical approach towards a complete list of mutually compatible braiding phases of topological orders in (3+1)D spacetime. More concretely, considering a discrete gauge group as input data, topological excitations in this paper are bosonic \particles carrying gauge charges and loops carrying gauge fluxes. Among these excitations, there are three classes of root braiding processes: particle-loop braidings (i.e., the familiar Aharonov-Bohm phase of winding an electric charge around a thin magnetic solenoid), multi-loop braidings [Phys. Rev. Lett. 113, 080403 (2014)], and particle-loop-loop braidings [i.e., Borromean Rings braiding in Phys. Rev. Lett. 121, 061601 (2018)]. A naive way to exhaust all topological orders is to arbitrarily combine these root braiding processes. Surprisingly, we find that there exist illegitimate combinations in which certain braiding phases cannot coexist, i.e., are mutually incompatible. Thus, the resulting topological orders are illegitimate and must be excluded. It is not obvious to identify these illegitimate combinations. But with the help of the powerful (3+1)D topological quantum field theories (TQFTs), we find that illegitimate combinations violate gauge invariance. In this way, we are able to obtain all sets of mutually compatible braiding phases and all legitimate topological orders. To illustrate, we work out all details when gauge groups are $\mathbb{Z}_{N_1},\mathbb{Z}_{N_1}\times\mathbb{Z}_{N_2},\mathbb{Z}_{N_1}\times\mathbb{Z}_{N_2}\times\mathbb{Z}_{N_3}$, and $\mathbb{Z}_{N_1}\times\mathbb{Z}_{N_2}\times\mathbb{Z}_{N_3}\times\mathbb{Z}_{N_4}$. Finally, we concisely discuss compatible braidings and TQFTs in (4+1)D spacetime.
