We consider the density of complex eigenvalues, $ρ(z)$, and the associated mean eigenvector self-overlaps, $\mathcal{O}(z)$, at the spectral edge of $N \times N$ real and complex elliptic Ginibre matrices, as $N \to \infty$. Two different regimes of ellipticity are studied: strong non-Hermiticity, kee** the ellipticity parameter $τ$ fixed and weak non-Hermiticity with $τ\rightarrow 1 $ as $N \rightarrow \infty$. At strong non-Hermiticity, we find that both $ρ(z)$ and $\mathcal{O}(z)$ have the same leading order behaviour across the elliptic Ginibre ensembles, establishing the expected universality. In the limit of weak non-Hermiticity, we find different results for $ρ(z)$ and $\mathcal{O}(z)$ across the two ensembles. This paper is the final of three papers that we have presented addressing the mean self-overlap of eigenvectors in these ensembles.

We study the mean diagonal overlap of left and right eigenvectors associated with complex eigenvalues in $N\times N$ non-Hermitian random Gaussian matrices. In well known works by Chalker and Mehlig the expectation of this (self-)overlap was computed for the complex Ginibre ensemble as $N\to \infty$. In the present work, we consider the same quantity in the real and complex elliptic Ginibre ensembles characterized by correlations between off-diagonal entries controlled by a parameter $τ\in[0,1]$, with $τ=1$ corresponding to the Hermitian limit. We derive exact expressions for the mean diagonal overlap in both ensembles at any finite $N$, for any eigenvalue off the real axis. We further investigate several scaling regimes as $N\rightarrow \infty$, both in the limit of strong non-Hermiticity kee** a fixed $τ\in[0,1)$ and in the weak non-Hermiticity limit, with $τ$ approaching unity in such a way that $N(1-τ)$ remains finite.

We study analytically the Chalker-Mehlig mean diagonal overlap $\mathcal{O}(z)$ between left and right eigenvectors associated with a complex eigenvalue $z$ of $N\times N$ matrices in the real Ginibre ensemble (GinOE). We first derive a general finite $N$ expression for the mean overlap and then investigate several scaling regimes in the limit $N\rightarrow \infty$. While in the generic spectral bulk and edge of the GinOE the limiting expressions for $\mathcal{O}(z)$ are found to coincide with the known results for the complex Ginibre ensemble (GinUE), in the region of eigenvalue depletion close to the real axis the asymptotic for the GinOE is considerably different. We also study numerically the distribution of diagonal overlaps and conjecture that it is the same in the bulk and at the edge of both the GinOE and GinUE, but essentially different in the depletion region of the GinOE.

We generalise well-known integrals of Ingham-Siegel and Fisher-Hartwig type over the unitary group $U(N)$ with respect to Haar measure, for finite $N$ and including fixed external matrices. When depending only on the eigenvalues of the unitary matrix, they can be related to a Toeplitz determinant with jump singularities. After introducing fixed deterministic matrices as external sources, the integrals can no longer be solved using Andréiéf's integration formula. Resorting to the character expansion as put forward by Balantekin, we derive explicit determinantal formulae containing Kummer's confluent and Gauss' hypergeometric function. They depend only on the eigenvalues of the deterministic matrices and are analytic in the parameters of the jump singularities. Furthermore, unitary two-matrix integrals of the same type are proposed and solved in the same manner. When making part of the deterministic matrices random and integrating over them, we obtain similar formulae in terms of Pfaffian determinants. This is reminiscent to a unitary group integral found recently by Kanazawa and Kieburg.

In the $\varepsilon$-regime of chiral perturbation theory the spectral correlations of the Euclidean QCD Dirac operator close to the origin can be computed using random matrix theory. To incorporate the effect of temperature, a random matrix ensemble has been proposed, where a constant, deterministic matrix is added to the Dirac operator. Its eigenvalue correlation functions can be written as the determinant of a kernel that depends on temperature. Due to recent progress in this specific class of random matrix ensembles, featuring a deterministic, additive shift, we can determine the limiting kernel and correlation functions in this class, which is the class of polynomial ensembles. We prove the equivalence between this new determinantal representation of the microscopic eigenvalue correlation functions and existing results in terms of determinants of different sizes, for an arbitrary number of quark flavours, with and without temperature, and extend them to non-zero topology. These results all agree and are thus universal when measured in units of the temperature dependent chiral condensate, as long as we stay below the chiral phase transition.

Polynomial ensembles are a sub-class of probability measures within determinantal point processes. Examples include products of independent random matrices, with applications to Lyapunov exponents, and random matrices with an external field, that may serve as schematic models of quantum field theories with temperature. We first analyse expectation values of ratios of an equal number of characteristic polynomials in general polynomial ensembles. Using Schur polynomials we show that polynomial ensembles constitute Giambelli compatible point processes, leading to a determinant formula for such ratios as in classical ensembles of random matrices. In the second part we introduce invertible polynomial ensembles given e.g. by random matrices with an external field. Expectation values of arbitrary ratios of characteristic polynomials are expressed in terms of multiple contour integrals. This generalises previous findings by one of the authors for a single ratio in the context of eigenvector statistics in the complex Ginibre ensemble.

It is well-known that staggered fermions do not necessarily satisfy the same global symmetries as the continuum theory. We analyze the mechanism behind this phenomenon for arbitrary dimension and gauge group representation. For this purpose we vary the number of lattice sites between even and odd parity in each single direction. Since the global symmetries are manifest in the lowest eigenvalues of the Dirac operator, the spectral statistics and also the symmetry breaking pattern will be affected. We analyze these effects and compare our predictions with Monte-Carlo simulations of naive Dirac operators in the strong coupling limit.

We study the global symmetries of naive lattices Dirac operators in QCD-like theories in any dimension larger than two. In particular we investigate how the chosen number of lattice sites in each direction affects the global symmetries of the Dirac operator. These symmetries are important since they do not only determine the infra-red spectrum of the Dirac operator but also the symmetry breaking pattern and, thus, the lightest pseudo-scalar mesons. We perform the symmetry analysis and discuss the possible zero modes and the degree of degeneracy of the lattice Dirac operators. Moreover we explicitly identify a "reduced" lattice Dirac operator which is the naive Dirac operator apart from the degeneracy. We verify our predictions by comparing Monte Carlo simulations of QCD-like theories in the strong coupling limit with the corresponding random matrix theories.
