3-manifolds and Vafa-Witten theory
Abstract: We initiate explicit computations of Vafa-Witten invariants of 3-manifolds, analogous to Floer groups in the context of Donaldson theory. In particular, we explicitly compute the Vafa-Witten invariants of 3-manifolds in a family of concrete examples relevant to various surgery operations (the Gluck twist, knot surgeries, log-transforms). We also describe the structural properties that are expected… ▽ More

Non-Holomorphic Cycles and Non-BPS Black Branes
Abstract: We study extremal non-BPS black holes and strings arising in M-theory compactifications on Calabi-Yau threefolds, obtained by wrap** M2 branes on non-holomorphic 2-cycles and M5 branes on non-holomorphic 4-cycles. Using the attractor mechanism we compute the black hole mass and black string tension, leading to a conjectural formula for the asymptotic volumes of connected, locally volume-minimizi… ▽ More

Elliptic stable envelopes and hypertoric loop spaces
Abstract: This paper relates the elliptic stable envelopes of a hypertoric variety $X$ with the K-theoretic stable envelopes of the loop hypertoric space, $\widetilde{\mathscr{L}}X$. It thus points to a possible categorification of elliptic stable envelopes.

Twisted Quasimaps and Symplectic Duality for Hypertoric Spaces
Abstract: We study moduli spaces of twisted quasimaps to a hypertoric variety $X$, arising as the Higgs branch of an abelian supersymmetric gauge theory in three dimensions. These parametrise general quiver representations whose building blocks are maps between rank one sheaves on $\mathbb{P}^1$, subject to a stability condition, associated to the quiver, involving both the sheaves and the maps. We show tha… ▽ More

Hilbert Schemes, Donaldson-Thomas Theory, Vafa-Witten and Seiberg Witten theories
Abstract: This article provides a summary of arXiv:1701.08899 and arXiv:1701.08902 where the authors studied the enumerative geometry of nested Hilbert schemes of points and curves on algebraic surfaces and their connections to threefold theories, and in particular relevant Donaldson-Thomas, Vafa-Witten and Seiberg-Witten theories.

Higher rank flag sheaves on Surfaces and Vafa-Witten invariants
Abstract: We study moduli space of holomorphic triples $E_{1}\xrightarrowφ E_{2}$, composed of torsion-free sheaves $E_{i}, i=1,2$ and a holomorphic mophism between them, over a smooth complex projective surface $S$. The triples are equipped with Schmitt stability condition [Alg Rep Th. 6. 1. pp 1-32, 2003]. We observe that when Schmitt stability parameter $q(m)$ becomes sufficiently large, the moduli space… ▽ More

Strictification and gluing of Lagrangian distributions on derived schemes with shifted symplectic forms
Abstract: A strictification result is proved for isotropic distributions on derived schemes equipped with negatively shifted homotopically closed $2$-forms. It is shown that any derived scheme over $\mathbb{C}$ equipped with a $-2$-shifted symplectic structure, and having a Hausdorff space of classical points, admits a globally defined Lagrangian distribution as a dg $\mathbb{C}^{\infty}$-manifold.

On topological approach to local theory of surfaces in Calabi-Yau threefolds
Abstract: We study the web of dualities relating various enumerative invariants, notably Gromov-Witten invariants and invariants that arise in topological gauge theory. In particular, we study Donaldson-Thomas gauge theory and its reductions to D=4 and D=2 which are relevant to the local theory of surfaces in Calabi-Yau threefolds.

Vertical D4-D2-D0 bound states on K3 fibrations and modularity
Abstract: An explicit formula is derived for the generating function of vertical D4-D2-D0 bound states on smooth K3 fibered Calabi-Yau threefolds, generalizing previous results of Gholampour and Sheshmani. It is also shown that this formula satisfies strong modularity properties, as predicted by string theory. Generalized Donaldson-Thomas Invariants of 2-Dimensional sheaves on local P^2
Abstract: Let X be the total space of the canonical bundle of P^2. We study the generalized Donaldson-Thomas invariants, defined in the work of Joyce-Song, of the moduli spaces of the 2-dimensional Gieseker semistable sheaves on X with first Chern class equal to k times the class of the zero section of X. When k=1, 2 or 3, and semistability implies stability, we express the invariants in terms of known modu… ▽ More

Counting curves on surfaces in Calabi-Yau 3-folds
Abstract: Motivated by S-duality modularity conjectures in string theory, we define new invariants counting a restricted class of 2-dimensional torsion sheaves, enumerating pairs $Z\subset H$ in a Calabi-Yau threefold X. Here H is a member of a sufficiently positive linear system and Z is a 1-dimensional subscheme of it. The associated sheaf is the ideal sheaf of $Z\subset H$, pushed forward to X and consid… ▽ More

Donaldson-Thomas Invariants of 2-Dimensional sheaves inside threefolds and modular forms
Abstract: Motivated by the S-duality conjecture, we study the Donaldson-Thomas invariants of the 2 dimensional Gieseker stable sheaves on a threefold. These sheaves are supported on the fibers of a nonsingular threefold X fibered over a nonsingular curve. In the case where X is a K3 fibration, we express these invariants in terms of the Euler characteristic of the Hilbert scheme of points on the K3 fiber an… ▽ More

Stable pairs on nodal K3 fibrations
Abstract: We study Pandharipande-Thomas's stable pair theory on $K3$ fibrations over curves with possibly nodal fibers. We describe stable pair invariants of the fiberwise irreducible curve classes in terms of Kawai-Yoshioka's formula for the Euler characteristics of moduli spaces of stable pairs on $K3$ surfaces and Noether-Lefschetz numbers of the fibration. Weighted Euler characteristic of the moduli space of higher rank Joyce-Song pairs
Abstract: The invariants of rank 2 Joyce-Song semistable pairs over a Calabi-Yau threefold were computed in arXiv:1101.2252, using the wall-crossing formula of Joyce-Song and Kontsevich-Soibelman. Such wall-crossing computations often depend on the combinatorial properties of certain elements of a Hall-algebra (these are the stack functions defined by Joyce).
