It is then demonstrated that the usual dimensional reduction of the newly added surface (boundary) term leads to the emergence of the famous Abelian Chern-Simons term. It is stressed that the advent of this Chern-Simons term is not merely a parametrization artefact but a real thing. Finally, the issue of finite-ranged electromagnetic interaction due to massive photons on a plane has been interpreted in terms of the violation of the local gauge invariance of this extended version of Kaluza-Klein theory.

We explore mathematical relationship between holographic Wilsonian renormalization group(HWRG) and stochastic quantization(SQ) motivated by the similarity of the monotonicity in RG flow with Langevin dynamics of non-equilibrium thermodynamics. We look at scalar field theory in AdS space with its generic mass, self-interaction, and boundary deformation in the momentum space. Identifying the stochastic time $t$ with radial coordinate $r$ in AdS, we establish maps between the fictitious time evolution of stochastic multi point correlation function and the radial evolution of multi-trace deformation, which respectively, express the relaxation process of Langevin dynamics and holographic RG flow. We especially consider marginal multi-trace deformation on the AdS boundary which is successfully captured by a Langevin dynamics of SQ.

Mid-frequency band gravitational-wave detectors will be complementary for the existing Earth-based detectors (sensitive above 10 Hz or so) and the future space-based detectors such as LISA, which will be sensitive below around 10 mHz. A ground-based superconducting omnidirectional gravitational radiation observatory (SOGRO) has recently been proposed along with several design variations for the frequency band of 0.1 to 10 Hz. For three conceptual designs of SOGRO (e.g., pSOGRO, SOGRO and aSOGRO), we examine their multi-channel natures, sensitivities and science cases. One of the key characteristics of the SOGRO concept is its six detection channels. The response functions of each channel are calculated for all possible gravitational wave polarizations including scalar and vector modes. Combining these response functions, we also confirm the omnidirectional nature of SOGRO. Hence, even a single SOGRO detector will be able to determine the position of a source and polarizations of gravitational waves, if detected. Taking into account SOGRO's sensitivity and technical requirements, two main targets are most plausible: gravitational waves from compact binaries and stochastic backgrounds. Based on assumptions we consider in this work, detection rates for intermediate-mass binary black holes (in the mass range of hundreds up to $10^{4}$ $M_\odot$) are expected to be $0.0014-2.5 \,\, {\rm yr}^{-1}$. In order to detect stochastic gravitational wave background, multiple detectors are required. Two aSOGRO detector networks may be able to put limits on the stochastic background beyond the indirect limit from cosmological observations.

In this paper, we explore the relationship between holographic Wilsonian renormalization groups and stochastic quantization in conformally coupled scalar theory in AdS$_{4}$. The relationship between these two different frameworks is firstly proposed in arXiv:1209.2242 and tested in various free theories. However, research on the theory with interactions has recently begun. In this paper, we show that the stochastic four-point function obtained by the Langevin equation is completely captured by the holographic quadruple trace deformation when the Euclidean action $S_{E}$ is given by $S_{E}=-2I_{os}$ where $I_{os}$ is the holographic on-shell action in the conformally coupled scalar theory in AdS$_{4},$ together with a condition that the stochastic fictitious time $t$ is also identified with AdS radial variable $r$. We extensively explore a case that the boundary condition on the conformal boundary is Dirichlet boundary condition, and in that case, the stochastic three-point function trivially vanishes. This agrees with that the holographic triple trace deformation vanishes when Dirichlet boundary condition is applied on the conformal boundary.

We explore the mathematical relationship between holographic Wilsonian renormalization group(HWRG) and stochastic quantization(SQ) of scalar field theory with its generic mass, self-interaction and $n$-multiple-trace deformation on the $d$-dimensional conformal boundary defined in AdS$_{d+1}$ spacetime. We understand that once we define our Euclidean action, $S_E$ as $S_E\equiv -2S_B$, then the stochastic process will reconstruct the holographic Wilsonian renormalization group data via solving Langevin equation and computing stochastic correlation functions. The $S_B$ is given by $S_B=S_{\rm ct}+S_{\rm def}$, where $S_{\rm ct}$ is the boundary counter term and $S_{\rm def}$ is the boundary deformation which gives a boundary condition. In our study, we choose the boundary condition adding (marginal)$n$-multiple trace deformation to the holographic dual field theory. In this theory, we establish maps bewteen ficticious time, $t$ evolution of stochastic $n$-point, ($2n-2$)-point correlation functions and the (AdS)radial, $r$ evolution of $n$-multiple-trace and ($2n-2$)-multiple-trace deformations respectively once we take identifications of $r=t$ and between some of constants appearing in both sides.

We study holographic entanglement entropy in 5-dimensional charged black brane geometry obtained from Einstein-SU(2)Yang-Mills theory defined in asymptotically AdS space. This gravity system undergoes second order phase transition near its critical point affected by a spatial component of the Yang-Mills fields, which is normalizable mode of the solution. This is known as phase transition between isotropic and anisotropic phases. We get analytic solutions of holographic entanglement entropies by utilizing the solution of bulk spacetime geometry given in arXiv:1109.4592, where we consider subsystems defined on AdS boundary of which shapes are wide and thin slabs and a cylinder. It turns out that the entanglement entropies near the critical point shows scaling behavior such that for both of the slabs and cylinder, $Δ_\varepsilon S\sim\left(1-\frac{T}{T_c}\right)^β$ and the critical exponent $β=1$, where $Δ_\varepsilon S\equiv S^{iso}-S^{aniso}$, and $S^{iso}$ denotes the entanglement entropy in isotropic phase whereas $S^{aniso}$ denotes that in anisotropic phase. We suggest a quantity $O_{12}\equiv S_1-S_2$ as a new order parameter near the critical point, where $S_1$ is entanglement entropy when the slab is perpendicular to the direction of the vector order whereas $S_2$ is that when the slab is parallel to the vector order. $O_{12}=0$ in isotropic phase but in anisotropic phase, the order parameter becomes non-zero showing the same scaling behavior. Finally, we show that even near the critical point, the first law of entanglement entropy is hold. Especially, we find that the entanglement temperature for the cylinder is $\mathcal T_{cy}=\frac{c_{ent}}{a}$, where $c_{ent}=0.163004\pm0.000001$ and $a$ is the radius of the cylinder.

The ever-increasing number of detections of gravitational waves (GWs) from compact binaries by the Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo detectors allows us to perform ever-more sensitive tests of general relativity (GR) in the dynamical and strong-field regime of gravity. We perform a suite of tests of GR using the compact binary signals observed during the second half of the third observing run of those detectors. We restrict our analysis to the 15 confident signals that have false alarm rates $\leq 10^{-3}\, {\rm yr}^{-1}$. In addition to signals consistent with binary black hole (BH) mergers, the new events include GW200115_042309, a signal consistent with a neutron star--BH merger. We find the residual power, after subtracting the best fit waveform from the data for each event, to be consistent with the detector noise. Additionally, we find all the post-Newtonian deformation coefficients to be consistent with the predictions from GR, with an improvement by a factor of ~2 in the -1PN parameter. We also find that the spin-induced quadrupole moments of the binary BH constituents are consistent with those of Kerr BHs in GR. We find no evidence for dispersion of GWs, non-GR modes of polarization, or post-merger echoes in the events that were analyzed. We update the bound on the mass of the graviton, at 90% credibility, to $m_g \leq 1.27 \times 10^{-23} \mathrm{eV}/c^2$. The final mass and final spin as inferred from the pre-merger and post-merger parts of the waveform are consistent with each other. The studies of the properties of the remnant BHs, including deviations of the quasi-normal mode frequencies and dam** times, show consistency with the predictions of GR. In addition to considering signals individually, we also combine results from the catalog of GW signals to calculate more precise population constraints. We find no evidence in support of physics beyond GR.

We study the same holographic model to see scale dependence of marginal deformations on the dual conformal field theory by employing completely different method: {\it holographic Wilsonian renormalization group}. We solve Hamilton-Jacobi equation derived from the holographic model of massive scalar with $λφ^n$ interaction and obtain the solution of marginal multi trace deformations up to the leading order in $λ$. It turns out that the solution of marginal multi trace deformation also presents logarithmic behavior in energy scale near UV region.

We study a mathematical relationship between holographic Wilsonian renormalization group and stochastic quantization framework. We extend the original proposal given in arXiv:1209.2242 to interacting theories. The original proposal suggests that fictitious time(or stochastic time) evolution of stochastic 2-point correlation function will be identical to the radial evolution of the double trace operator of certain classes of holographic models, which are free theories in AdS space. We study holographic gravity models with interactions in AdS space and establish a map between the holographic renormalization flow of multi-trace operators and stochastic $n$-point functions. To give precise examples, we extensively study conformally coupled scalar theory in AdS$_6$. What we have found is that the stochastic time $t$ dependent 3-point function obtained from Langevin equation with its Euclidean action being given by $S_E=2I_{os}$ is identical to holographic renormalization group evolution of holographic triple trace operator as its energy scale $r$ changes once an identification of $t=r$ is made. $I_{os}$ is the on-shell action of holographic model of conformally coupled scalar theory at the AdS boundary. We argue that this can be fully extended to mathematical relationship between multi point functions and multi trace operators in each framework.

In this short note, we present some evidence towards the existence of an algebra of BPS $G_2$ instantons. These are instantonic configurations that govern the partition functions of 7d SYM theories on local $G_2$ holonomy manifolds $\mathcal X$. To shed light on such structure, we begin investigating the relation with parent 4d $\mathcal N=1$ theories obtained by geometric engineering M-theory on $\mathcal X$. The main point of this paper is to substantiate the following dream: the holomorphic sector of such theories on multi-centered Taub-NUT spaces gives rise to an algebra whose characters organise the $G_2$ instanton partition function. As a first step towards this program, we argue by string duality that a multitude of geometries $\mathcal X$ exist that are dual to well-known 4d SCFTs arising from D3 branes probes of CY cones: all these models are amenable to analysis along the lines suggested by Dijkgraaf, Gukov, Neitzke and Vafa in the context of topological M-theory. Moreover, we discuss an interesting relation to Costello's twisted M-theory, which arises at local patches, and is a key ingredient in identifying the relevant algebras.

As a concrete application of our method, we analyze 2-group symmetries of all 5d SCFTs, which reduce in the IR, after performing mass deformations, to 5d N=1 non-abelian gauge theories with simple, simply connected gauge groups. For rank-1 Seiberg theories, we check that our predictions for the flavor symmetry groups match with the superconformal and ray indices available in the literature. We also comment on the mixed 't Hooft anomaly between 1-form and 0-form symmetries arising in 5d N=1 non-abelian gauge theories and its relation to the 2-groups.

We discuss various aspects of anisotropic gravity in $(d+D)$-dimensional spacetime where $D$ dimensions are treated as extra dimensions. It is based on the foliation preserving diffeomorphism invariance and anisotropic conformal invariance. The anisotropy is embodied by introducing a factor $z$ which discriminates the scaling degree of the extra $D$ dimensions against the $d$-dimensional base spacetime and Weyl scalar field which mediates the anisotropic scaling symmetry. There is no intrinsic scale but a physical scale $M_*$ emerges as a consequence of spontaneous conformal symmetry breaking. Some vacuum solutions are obtained and we discuss an issue of `size separation' between the base spacetime and the extra dimensions. The size separation means large hierarchy between the scales appearing in the base spacetime and the extra dimensions respectively. We also discuss interesting theories obtained from our model. In the case of (4,1), we propose a resolution of hierarchy problem and discuss comparison with the results of the brane-world model. In a $(d,D)=(2,2)$ case, we suggest a UV-complete unitary quantum gravity which might become Einstein gravity in IR. In a certain (2,1) case, we obtain CGHS-model.

We explore conformally coupled scalar theory in AdS$_{6}$ extensively and their classical solutions by employing power expansion order by order in its self-interaction coupling $λ$. We study holographic correlation functions of scalar operator deformations to a certain 5-dimensional conformal field theory where the operators share the same scaling dimension $Δ=3$, from the classical solutions. For our solutions, we choose a scheme where we remove co-linear divergences of momenta along the AdS boundary directions which frequently appear in the classical solutions. This shows clearly that the holographic correlation functions are free from the co-linear divergences. It turns out that this theory provides correct conformal 2- and 3- point functions of the $Δ=3$ scalar operators as expected in previous literature. It makes sense since 2- and 3- point functions are determined by global conformal symmetry not being dependent on the details of the conformal theory. We also get 4-point function from this holographic model. In fact, it turns out that the 4-point correlation function is not conformal because it does not satisfy the special conformal Ward identity although it does dilation Ward identity and respect $SO(5)$ rotation symmetry. However, in the co-linear limit that all the external momenta are in a same direction, the 4-point function is conformal which means that it satisfy the special conformal Ward identity. We inspect holographic $n$-point functions of this theory which can be obtained by employing a certain Feynman-like rule. This rule is a construction of $n$-point function by connecting $l$-point functions each other where $l<n$. In the co-linear limit, these $n$-point functions reproduce the conformal $n$-point functions of $Δ=3$ scalar operators in $d=5$ Euclidean space addressed in arXiv:2001.05379.

We propose a double quantization of four-dimensional ${\cal N}=2$ Seiberg-Witten geometry, for all classical gauge groups and a wide variety of matter content. This can be understood as a set of certain non-perturbative Schwinger-Dyson identities, following the program initiated by Nekrasov [arXiv:1512.05388]. The construction relies on the computation of the instanton partition function of the gauge theory on the so-called $Ω$-background on $\mathbb{R}^4$, in the presence of half-BPS codimension 4 defects. The two quantization parameters are identified as the two parameters of this background. The Seiberg-Witten curve of each theory is recovered in the flat space limit. Whenever possible, we motivate our construction from type IIA string theory.

We compute the Weyl anomaly of the nonrelativistic string worldsheet sigma model describing strings propagating in a string Newton-Cartan geometry, Kalb-Ramond and dilaton background. We derive the equations of motion that dictate the backgrounds on which nonrelativistic string theory can be consistently defined quantum mechanically. The equations of motion we find from our study of the conformal anomaly of the worldsheet theory are to nonrelativistic string theory what the (super)gravity equations of motion are to relativistic string theory.

Along the way, we build global N=4 superconformal short and long multiplets, and compute all possible 2,3-point functions of long-multiplets that are needed to construct the superconformal blocks and the crossing equations. Since we consider a long-multiplet 4-point function, the number of crossing equations is huge and we expect it to give a strong constraint than the usual superconformal bootstrap analysis, which relies on BPS 4-point functions. In addition, we present an alternative way to derive crossing equations using N=4 superspace and comment on a puzzle.

We study partially massless gravity theory(PM gravity theory) and suggest an alternative way to add higher order interaction vertices to the theory. Rather than introducing self interaction vertices of the gravitational fields to the partially massless gravity action, we consider interactions with matter fields, since it is well known that addition of the self interaction terms necessarily breaks the $U(1)$ gauge symmetry that PM gravity theory enjoys. For the coupling with matter fields, we consider two different types of interaction vertices. The first one is given by an interaction Lagrangian density, $\mathcal L_{int}\sim h_{μν}T^{μν}$, where $h_{μν}$ is the PM gravity field and $T^{μν}$ is the stress-energy tensor of the matter fields. To retain the $U(1)$ gauge symmetry, the matter fields also transform accordingly and it turns out that the transform must be non-local in this case. The second type interaction is obtained by employing a gauge covariant derivative with the PM gravity field, where the PM gravity fields play a role of a gauge connection canceling the phase shift of the matter fields. We also study the actions and the equations of motion of the partially massless gravity fields. As expected, it shows 4 unitary degrees of freedom. 2 of them are traceless tensor modes and they are light like fields. The other 2 are transverse vector modes and their dispersion relation changes as background space time (de Sitter) evolutes. In the very early time, they are light like but in the very late time, their velocity become a half of speed of light. The vector mode dispersion relation shows momentum dependent behavior. In fact, the higher(lower) frequency modes show the faster(slower) velocity. We suggest their quantization, compute Hamiltonians to present their exited quanta and construct their free propagators.

We promote the Noether charge of the electric-magnetic duality symmetry of $U(1)$ gauge theory, "$G$" to a quantum operator. We construct ladder operators, $D_{(\pm)a}^\dagger(k)$ and $D_{(\pm)a}(k)$ which create and annihilate the simultaneous quantum eigen states of the quantum Hamiltonian(or number) and the electric-magnetic duality operators respectively. Therefore all the quantum states of the $U(1)$ gauge fields can be expressed by a form of $|E,g\rangle$, where $E$ is the energy of the state, the $g$ is the eigen value of the quantum operator $G$, where the $g$ is quantized in the unit of 1. We also show that 10 independent bilinears comprised of the creation and annihilation operators can form $SO(2,3)$ which is as demonstrated in the Dirac's paper published in 1962. The number operator and the electric-magnetic duality operator are the members of the $SO(2,3)$ generators. We note that there are two more generators which commute with the number operator(or Hamiltonian). We prove that these generators are indeed symmetries of the $U(1)$ gauge field theory action.

Einstein-dilaton-$U(2)$ gauge field theory is considered in a spacetime characterised by $α$ and $z$, which are the hyperscaling violation factor and the dynamical critical exponent respectively. We obtain the critical values of chemical potential $μ_c$ that is defined on its boundary dual fluid and derives phase transition from spatially isotropic to anisotropic phase for the various values of the $α$ and $z$. To do so, we first apply Sturm-Liouville theory and estimate the upper bounds of the critical values of the chemical potential. We also employ a numerical method in the ranges of $1 \leq z \leq 4$ and $0 \leq α\leq 4$ to check if the Sturm-Liouville method correctly estimates the critical values of the chemical po10 percent error ranges. Finally, we compute free energy density of the dual fluid by using its gravity dual and check if the system shows phase transition at the critical values of the chemical potential $μ_c$ for the given parameter region of $α$ and $z$. Interestingly, it is observed that the anisotropic phase is more favoured than the isotropic phase for small values of $z$ and $α$. However, for large values of $z$ and $α$, the anisotropic phase is not favoured.tential. It turns out that the two methods are agreed within

We construct an index for BPS operators supported on a ray in five dimensional superconformal field theories with exceptional global symmetries. We compute the $E_n$ representations (for $n=2,\dots,7$) of operators of low spin, thus verifying that while the expression for the index is only SO$(2n-2)\times$U(1) invariant, the index itself exhibits the full $E_n$ symmetry (at least up to the order we expanded). The ray operators we studied in 5d can be viewed as generalizations of operators constructed in a Yang-Mills theory with fundamental matter by attaching an open Wilson line to a quark. For $n\le 7$, in contrast to local operators, they carry nontrivial charge under the $\mathbb{Z}_{9-n}\subset E_n$ center of the global symmetry. The representations that appear in the ray operator index are therefore different, for $n\le 7$, from those appearing in the previously computed superconformal index. For $3\le n\le 7$, we find that the leading term in the index is a character of a minuscule representation of $E_n$. We also discuss the case $n=8$, which presents a unique technical challenge, and remains an open problem.

We investigate information flow and Page curves for tripartite systems. We prepare a tripartite system (say, A, B, and C) of a given number of states and calculate information and entropy contents by assuming random states. Initially, every particle was in A (this means a black hole), and as time goes on, particles move to either B (means Hawking radiation) or C (means a broadly defined remnant, including a non-local transport of information, the last burst, an interior large volume, or a bubble universe, etc.). If the final number of states of the remnant is smaller than that of Hawking radiation, then information will be stored by both of the radiation and the mutual information between the radiation and the remnant, while the remnant itself does not contain information. On the other hand, if the final number of states of the remnant is greater than that of Hawking radiation, then the radiation contains negligible information, while the remnant and the mutual information between the radiation and the remnant contain information. Unless the number of states of the remnant is large enough compared to the entropy of the black hole, Hawking radiation must contain information; and we meet the menace of black hole complementarity again. Therefore, this contrasts the tension between various assumptions and candidates of the resolution of the information loss problem.

In the stochastic theory, the field is described by an equation with a form of harmonic oscillator with time dependent frequency and its Euclidean action also shows explicit time dependent kernel in it. We have obtained the stochastic 2-point correlation function and demonstrate that it reproduces the radial evolution of the double trace operator correctly via the suggested relation given in arXiv:1209.2242. Moreover, we justify our stochastic procedure with time dependent kernel by showing that it can be mapped to a new stochastic frame with a standard kernel without time dependence. Finally, we consider more general boundary conditions for the stochastic field to reproduce the radial evolution of the holographic boundary effective action when alternative quantization is allowed. We extensively study the Neumann boundary condition case and confirm that even in this case, the relation between HWRG and SQ is precisely hold.

We study relation between stochastic quantization and holographic Wilsonian renormalization group flow. Considering stochastic quantization of the boundary on-shell actions with the Dirichlet boundary condition for certain $AdS$ bulk gravity theories, we find that the radial flows of double trace deformations in the boundary effective actions are completely captured by stochastic time evolution with identification of the $AdS$ radial coordinate `$r$' with the stochastic time '$t$' as $r=t$. More precisely, we investigate Langevin dynamics and find an exact relation between radial flow of the double trace couplings and 2-point correlation functions in stochastic quantization. We also show that the radial evolution of double trace deformations in the boundary effective action and the stochastic time evolution of the Fokker-Planck action are the same. We obtain classical solutions of Yang-Mills fields up to the first subleading order correction by using small amplitude expansion of the gauge field without considering gravitational back reaction. We also consider SU(2) Yang-Mills instanton solution in $AdS_4$ bulk, and propose a boundary action. It turns out that the boundary theory is the Chern Simons theory with a non-local deformation which has the form similar to the Wilson line. In the limit of the deformation parameter $ρ\rightarrow \infty$, this non-local deformation is suppressed and the boundary theory becomes pure Chern Simons. For large but finite values of $ρ$, this non-local deformation can be treated perturbatively within the Chern-Simon theory.

The shear viscosities in the symmetry broken directions of the conformal fluids defined on $AdS$ boundary present non-universal values which depend on the chemical potential $μ$ and temperature $T$ of the system and also satisfy non-trivial holographic $RG$-flow equations. The shear viscosities flow down to the specific values in $IR$ region, in fact which are given by the ratios of the metric components in the symmetry unbroken direction to those in the broken directions, evaluated at the black brane horizon in the dual gravity system.

We explore how the topology of spacetime fabric is encoded into the local structure of Riemannian metrics using the gauge theory formulation of Euclidean gravity. In part I, we provide a rigorous mathematical foundation to prove that a general Einstein manifold arises as the sum of SU(2)_L Yang-Mills instantons and SU(2)_R anti-instantons where SU(2)_L and SU(2)_R are normal subgroups of the four-dimensional Lorentz group Spin(4) = SU(2)_L x SU(2)_R. Our proof relies only on the general properties in four dimensions: The Lorentz group Spin(4) is isomorphic to SU(2)_L x SU(2)_R and the six-dimensional vector space of two-forms splits canonically into the sum of three-dimensional vector spaces of self-dual and anti-self-dual two-forms. Consolidating these two, it turns out that the splitting of Spin(4) is deeply correlated with the decomposition of two-forms on four-manifold which occupies a central position in the theory of four-manifolds.

Abstract:
We revisit the annulus amplitude of FZZT branes with general matter sectors (r,s) using the recent development of matrix model and minimal Liouville gravity. Following the boundary description of the 1-matrix model and bulk resonance transformation between primary operators we find the consistency of the brane decomposition into (1,1)-branes. We also investigate the corresponding results obtained directly from the minimal Liouville gravity and demonstrate the perfect agreement with the matrix results.

We construct an analytic solution of the Einstein-SU(2)-Yang-Mills system as the holographic dual of an anisotropic superfluid near its critical point, up to leading corrections in both the inverse Yang-Mills coupling and a symmetry breaking order parameter. We have also calculated the ratio of shear viscosity to entropy density in this background, and shown that the universality of this ratio is lost in the broken symmetry direction. The ratio displays a scaling behavior near the critical point with critical exponent $β=1$, at the leading order in the double expansion.

It is well-known that Einstein gravity can be formulated as a gauge theory of Lorentz group where spin connections play a role of gauge fields and Riemann curvature tensors correspond to their field strengths. One can then pose an interesting question: What is the Einstein equations from the gauge theory point of view? Or equivalently, what is the gauge theory object corresponding to Einstein manifolds? We show that the Einstein equations in four dimensions are precisely self-duality equations in Yang-Mills gauge theory and so Einstein manifolds correspond to Yang-Mills instantons in SO(4) = SU(2)_L x SU(2)_R gauge theory. Specifically, we prove that any Einstein manifold with or without a cosmological constant always arises as the sum of SU(2)_L instantons and SU(2)_R anti-instantons. This result explains why an Einstein manifold must be stable because two kinds of instantons belong to different gauge groups, instantons in SU(2)_L and anti-instantons in SU(2)_R, and so they cannot decay into a vacuum. We further illuminate the stability of Einstein manifolds by showing that they carry nontrivial topological invariants.

The usual derivative expansion of gravity duals of charged fluid dynamics is known to break down in the zero temperature limit. In this case, the fluid-gravity duality is not understood precisely. We explore this problem for a zero temperature charged fluid driven by a low frequency, small amplitude and spatially homogeneous external force. In the gravity dual, this corresponds to time dependent boundary value of the dilaton. We calculate the bulk solution for the dilaton and the leading backreaction to the metric and the gauge fields using the modified low frequency expansion of [11]. The resulting solutions are regular everywhere, establishing fluid-gravity duality to this order.

We find such acoustic dumb holes in charged conformal fluids and use the fluid-gravity correspondence to construct dual gravity solutions. A class of quasinormal modes around these gravitational backgrounds perceive a horizon. Upon quantization, this implies a thermal spectrum for these modes.
