We extend our consideration of commutative subalgebras (rays) in different representations of the $W_{1+\infty}$ algebra to the elliptic Hall algebra (or, equivalently, to the Ding-Iohara-Miki (DIM) algebra $U_{q,t}(\widehat{\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}}_1)$). Its advantage is that it possesses the Miki automorphism, which makes all commutative rays equivalent. Integrable systems associated with these rays become finite-difference and, apart from the trigonometric Ruijsenaars system not too much familiar. We concentrate on the simplest many-body and Fock representations, and derive explicit formulas for all generators of the elliptic Hall algebra $e_{n,m}$. In the one-body representation, they differ just by normalization from $z^nq^{m\hat D}$ of the $W_{1+\infty}$ Lie algebra, and, in the $N$-body case, they are non-trivially generalized to monomials of the Cherednik operators with action restricted to symmetric polynomials. In the Fock representation, the resulting operators are expressed through auxiliary polynomials of $n$ variables, which define weights in the residues formulas. We also discuss $q,t$-deformation of matrix models associated with constructed commutative subalgebras.

We consider an arbitrary deformation of the Gaussian matrix model parameterized by Miwa variables $z_a$. One can look at it as a mixture of the Gaussian and logarithmic (Selberg) potentials, which are both superintegrable. The mixture is not, still one can find an explicit expression for an arbitrary Schur average as a linear transform of a {\it finite degree} polynomial made from the values of skew Schur functions at the Gaussian locus $p_k=δ_{k,2}$. This linear operation includes multiplication with an exponential $ e^{z_a^2/2}$ and a kind of Borel transform of the resulting product, which we call multiple and enhanced. The existence of such remarkable formulas appears intimately related to the theory of auxiliary $K$-polynomials, which appeared in {\it bilinear} superintegrable correlators at the Gaussian point (strict superintegrability). We also consider in the very detail the generating function of correlators $<(\Tr X)^k>$ in this model, and discuss its integrable determinant representation. At last, we describe deformation of all results to the Gaussian $β$-ensemble.

Electromagnetic showers develo** from the collision of an ultra-intense laser pulse with a beam of high-energy electrons or photons are investigated under conditions relevant to future experiments on multi-petawatt laser facilities. A semi-analytical model is derived that predicts the shower multiplicity, i.e. the number of pairs produced per incident seed particle (electron or gamma photon). The model is benchmarked against particle-in-cell simulations and shown to be accurate over a wide range of seed particle energies (100 MeV - 40 GeV), laser relativistic field strengths ($10 < a_0 < 1000$), and quantum parameter $χ_0$ (ranging from 1 to 40). It is shown that, for experiments expected in the next decade, only the first generations of pairs contribute to the shower while multiplicities larger than unity are predicted. Guidelines for forthcoming experiments are discussed considering laser facilities such as Apollon and ELI Beamlines. The difference between electron- and photon seeding and the influence of the laser pulse duration are investigated.

It was suggested [A. R. Bell & J. G. Kirk, PRL 101, 200403 (2008)] that an avalanche of electron-positron pairs can be triggered in the laboratory by a standing wave generated by intense laser fields. Here, we present a general solution to the long-standing problem of the avalanche growth rate calculation. We provide a simple formula that we apply to the case of the standing wave created by two circularly polarized lasers and demonstrate that it allows to predict the particle yield for the full range of intensity able to generate an avalanche. We account for the dam** of the growth rate due to pair migration from the region of prolific generation and show that above a threshold in intensity, this effect is negligible. The growth rate calculation allows us to predict when abundant pair production will induce a back-reaction on the generating field due to plasma collective effects and screening. Our model shows excellent agreement with self-consistent PIC simulations and can be applied to study the generation of electron-positron pair avalanches in realistic field configurations to plan future experiments at ultra-high-intensity laser facilities.

We work out explicit formulas for correlators in the Gaussian matrix model perturbed by a logarithmic potential, i.e. by inserting Miwa variables. In this paper, we concentrate on the example of a single Miwa variable. The ordinary Gaussian model is superintegrable, i.e. the average of the Schur functions $S_Q$ is an explicit function of the Young diagram $Q$. The question is what happens to this property after perturbation. We show that the entire perturbation series can be nicely summed up into a kind of Borel transform of a universal exponential function, while the dependence on $R$ enters through a polynomial factor in front of this exponential. Moreover, these polynomials can be described explicitly through a single additional structure, which we call ``truncation'' of the Young diagram $Q$. It is unclear if one can call this an extended superintegrability, but at least it is a tremendously simple deformation of it. Moreover, the vanishing Gaussian correlators remain vanishing and, hence, are not deformed at all.

Matrix elements in different representations are connected by quadratic relations. If matrix elements are those of a $\textit{group element}$, i.e. satisfying the property $Δ(X) = X\otimes X$, then their generating functions obey bilinear Hirota equations and hence are named $τ$-functions. However, dealing with group elements is not always easy, especially for non-commutative algebras of functions, and this slows down the development of $τ$-function theory and the study of integrability properties of non-perturbative functional integrals. A simple way out is to use arbitrary elements of the universal envelo** algebra, and not just the group elements. Then the Hirota equations appear to interrelate a whole system of generating functions, which one may call $\textit{generalized}$ $τ$-functions. It was recently demonstrated that this idea can be applicable even to a somewhat sophisticated case of the quantum toroidal algebra. We consider a number of simpler examples, including ordinary and quantum groups, to explain how the method works and what kind of solutions one can obtain.

It was demonstrated recently that the $W_{1+\infty}$ algebra contains commutative subalgebras associated with all integer slope rays (including the vertical one). In this paper, we realize that every element of such a ray is associated with a generalized $\widetilde W$ algebra. In particular, the simplest commutative subalgebra associated with the rational Calogero Hamiltonians is associated with the $\widetilde W$ algebras studied earlier. We suggest a definition of the generalized $\widetilde W$ algebra as differential operators in variables $p_k$ basing on the matrix realization of the $W_{1+\infty}$ algebra, and also suggest an unambiguous recursive definition, which, however, involves more elements of the $W_{1+\infty}$ algebra than is contained in its commutative subalgebras. The positive integer rays are associated with $\widetilde W$ algebras that form sets of Ward identities for the WLZZ matrix models, while the vertical ray associated with the trigonometric Calogero-Sutherland model describes the hypergeometric $τ$-functions corresponding to the completed cycles.

We demonstrate that commutativity of numerous one-dimensional subalgebras in $W_{1+\infty}$ algebra, i.e. the existence of many non-trivial integrable systems described in recent arXiv:2303.05273 follows from the subset of relations in algebra known as Serre relations. No other relations are needed for commutativity. The Serre relations survive the deformation to the affine Yangian $Y(\hat{\mathfrak{gl}}_1)$, hence the commutative subalgebras do as well. A special case of the Yangian parameters corresponds to the $β$-deformation. The preservation of Serre relations can be thought of a selection rule for proper systems of commuting $β$-deformed Hamiltonians. On the contrary, commutativity in the extended family associated with ``rational (non-integer) rays" is {\it not} reduced to the Serre relations, and uses also other relations in the $W_{1+\infty}$ algebra. Thus their $β$-deformation is less straightforward.

Spacetime dependence of the wave packet is obtained analytically for a short time interval, the more restricted from above the wider is the packet in momentum space. The radiative corrections alter the electron wavefunction, resulting in particular in a dam** of the wave packet. The expectation value of the Dirac spin operator also gets modified.

We explain that the set of new integrable systems generalizing the Calogero family and implied by the study of WLZZ models, which was described in arXiv:2303.05273, is only the tip of the iceberg. We provide its wide generalization and explain that it is related to commutative subalgebras (Hamiltonians) of the $W_{1+\infty}$ algebra. We construct many such subalgebras and explain how they look in various representations. We start from the even simpler $w_\infty$ contraction, then proceed to the one-body representation in terms of differential operators on a circle, further generalizing to matrices and in their eigenvalues, in finally to the bosonic representation in terms of time-variables. Moreover, we explain that some of the subalgebras survive the $β$-deformation, an intermediate step from $W_{1+\infty}$ to the affine Yangian. The very explicit formulas for the corresponding Hamiltonians in these cases are provided. Integrable many-body systems generalizing the rational Calogero model arise in the representation in terms of eigenvalues. Each element of $W_{1+\infty}$ algebra gives rise to KP/Toda $τ$-functions. The hidden symmetry given by the families of commuting Hamiltonians is in charge of the special, (skew) hypergeometric $τ$-functions among these.

Recently, the simplest of them was related to a superintegrable two-matrix model with two potentials and one external matrix field. Now we provide detailed proofs, and a generalization to a multi-matrix representation, and propose the $β$ deformation of the matrix model as well. The general interpolating WLZZ model is generated by a $W$-representation given by a sum of operators from a one-parametric commutative sub-family (a commutative subalgebra of $w_\infty$). Different commutative families are related by cut-and-join rotations. Two of these sub-families (`vertical' and `45-degree') turn out to be nothing but the trigonometric and rational Calogero-Sutherland Hamiltonians, the `horizontal' family is represented by simple derivatives. Other families require an additional analysis.

We explain how the spectral curve can be extracted from the ${\cal W}$-representation of a matrix model. It emerges from the part of the ${\cal W}$-operator, which is linear in time-variables. A possibility of extracting the spectral curve in this way is important because there are models where matrix integrals are not yet available, and still they possess all their important features. We apply this reasoning to the family of WLZZ models and discuss additional peculiarities which appear for the non-negative value of the family parameter $n$, when the model depends on additional couplings (dual times). In this case, the relation between topological and $1/N$ expansions is broken. On the other hand, all the WLZZ partition functions are $τ$-functions of the Toda lattice hierarchy, and these models also celebrate the superintegrability properties.

Once famous and a little mysterious, AGT relations between Nekrasov functions and conformal blocks are now understood as the Hubbard-Stratanovich duality in the Dijkgraaf-Vafa (DV) phase of a peculiar Dotsenko-Fateev multi-logarithmic matrix model. However, it largely remains a collection of somewhat technical tricks, lacking a clear and generalizable conceptual interpretation. Our new claim is that the Nekrasov functions emerge in matrix models as a straightforward implication of superintegrability, factorization of peculiar matrix model averages. Recently, we demonstrated that, in the Gaussian Hermitian model, the factorization property can be extended from averages of single characters to their bilinear combinations. In this paper, we claim that this is true also for multi-logarithmic matrix models, where factorized are just the point-split products of two characters. It is this enhanced superintegrability that is responsible for existence of the Nekrasov functions and the AGT relations. This property can be generalized both to multi-matrix models, thus leading to AGT relations for multi-point conformal blocks, and to DV phases of other non-Gaussian models.

We continue investigating the superintegrability property of matrix models, i.e. factorization of the matrix model averages of characters. This paper focuses on the Gaussian Hermitian example, where the role of characters is played by the Schur functions. We find a new intriguing corollary of superintegrability: factorization of an infinite set of correlators bilinear in the Schur functions. More exactly, these are correlators of products of the Schur functions and polynomials $K_Δ$ that form a complete basis in the space of invariant matrix polynomials. Factorization of these correlators with a small subset of these $K_Δ$ follow from the fact that the Schur functions are eigenfunctions of the generalized cut-an-join operators, but the full set of $K_Δ$ is generated by another infinite commutative set of operators, which we manifestly describe.

We present a comprehensive classification of invariants of knots and links associated with irreducible representations of \uqslN{}, when the parameter of quantization $q$ is a root of unity. We demonstrate that, besides the standard HOMFLY-PT invariants, which are associated with representations with highest and lowest weights, non-trivial invariants can be associated only with nilpotent representations with parameters. We define the corresponding invariants and discuss their relations with standard invariants at particular values of parameters.

Some eigenvalue matrix models possess an interesting property: one can manifestly define the basis where all averages can be explicitly calculated. For example, in the Gaussian Hermitian and rectangular complex models, averages of the Schur functions are again expressed through the Schur functions. However, so far this property remains restricted to very particular (e.g. Gaussian) measures. In this paper, we extend this observation to unitary matrix integrals, where one could expect that this restriction is easier to lift. We demonstrate that this is indeed the case, only this time the Schur averages are linear combinations of the Schur functions. Full factorization to a single item in the sum appears only on the Miwa locus, where at least one half of the time-variables is expressed through matrices of the same size. For unitary integrals, this is a manifestation of the de Wit-t'Hooft anomaly, which prevents the answer to be fully analytic in the matrix size $N$. Once achieved, this understanding can be extended back to the Hermitian model, where the phenomenon looks very similar: beyond Gaussian measures superintegrability requires an additional summation.

Schur functions are the common eigenfunctions of generalized cut-and-join operators which form a closed algebra. They can be expressed as differential operators in time-variables and also through the eigenvalues of auxiliary $N\times N$ matrices $X$, known as Miwa variables. Relevant for the cubic Kontsevich model and also for spin Hurwitz theory is an alternative set of Schur Q-functions. They appear in representation theory of the Sergeev group, which is a substitute of the symmetric group, related to the queer Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{q}(N)$.. The corresponding spin $\hat{\cal W}$-operators were recently found in terms of time-derivatives, but a substitute of the Miwa parametrization remained unknown, which is an essential complication for the matrix model technique and further developments. We demonstrate that the Miwa representation, in this case, involves a fermionic matrix $Ψ$ in addition to $X$, but its realization using supermatrices is {\it not} quite naive.

The wonderful formulas by I.Dumitriu and A.Edelman rewrite $β$-ensemble, with eigenvalue integrals containing Vandermonde factors in the power $2β$, through integrals over tridiagonal matrices, where $β$-dependent are the powers of individual matrix elements, not their differences. These potentially useful formulas are usually deduced from rather complicated and non-transparent combinatorics and are not as widely known as they deserve. We explain that the superintegrability property, i.e. a simple expression of the Gaussian averages of arbitrary Jack polynomials through the same Jack polynomials, is immediately consistent with this tridiagonal representation, which may serve as a clue to its simple and transparent interpretation. For a formal non-perturbative proof, we use the Virasoro constraints, which themselves acquire an interesting structure in the tridiagonal realization. We also attract attention to the surprising spontaneous breakdown of discrete invariance by the tridiagonal measure, which may signal a new interesting anomaly at the elementary level of the basic eigenvalue matrix model.

We present a calculation of the electron mass operator combining the bubble-chain photon and the leading order electron propagators in a strong constant crossed electromagnetic field. The photon propagator is obtained by a summation of the Dyson series over 1PI polarization loop insertions and is accounted for in general form. By applying the derived mass operator, we find the bubble-chain electron propagator and the elastic scattering amplitude. The results are expressed in the general form of expansion over $γ$-matrix structures, each multiplied by a scalar invariant function of the electron virtuality and the quantum dynamical parameter $χ$. We perform their asymptotic analysis and identify the dominant contribution at $χ\gg 1$. The presented calculations can be generalized by replacing the leading order electron propagator with the bubble-chain one. This will allow a consistent study the Dyson-Schwinger equations in the fully nonperturbative regime $αχ^{2/3}\gtrsim1$ within the bubble-chain approximation. In addition, we accompany our paper with the open-access computer-algebraic scripts containing all the presented computations [https://github.com/ArsenyMironov/SFQED-Loops].

For ordinary matrix models, the eigenvalue probability density decays rapidly as one goes to infinity, in other words, has "short tails". This ensures that all the multiple trace correlators (multipoint moments) are convergent and well-defined.
Still, many critical phenomena are associated with an enhanced probability of seemingly rare effects, and one expects that they are better described by the "long tail" models. In absence of the exponential fall-off, the integrals for high moments diverge, and this could imply a loss of (super)integrability properties pertinent to matrix and eigenvalue models and, presumably, to the non-perturbative (exact) treatment of more general quantum systems. In this paper, we explain that this danger to modern understanding could be exaggerated. We consider a simple family of long-tail matrix models, which preserve the crucial feature of superintegrability: exact factorized expressions for a full set of basic averages. It turns out that superintegrability can survive after an appropriate (natural and obvious) analytical continuation even in the presence of divergencies, which opens new perspectives for the study of the long-tail matrix models.

In the recent study of Virasoro action on characters, we discovered that it gets especially simple for peculiar linear combinations of the Virasoro operators: particular harmonics of $\hat w$-operators. In this letter, we demonstrate that even more is true: a {\it single} $w$-constraint is sufficient to uniquely specify the partition functions provided one assumes that it is a power series in time-variables. This substitutes the previous specifications in terms of {\it two} requirements: either a string equation imposed on the KP/Toda $τ$-function or a pair of Virasoro generators. This mysterious {\it single}-entry definition holds for a variety of theories, including Hermitian and complex matrix models, and also matrix models with external matrix: the unitary and cubic Kontsevich models. In these cases, it is equivalent to W-representation and is closely related to {\it super}\,integrability. However, a similar single equation that completely determines the partition function exists also in the case of the generalized Kontsevich model (GKM) with the potential of higher degree, when the constraint algebra is a larger $W$-algebra, and neither W-representation nor superintegrability are understood well enough.

Relation between the Virasoro constraints and KP integrability (determinant formulas) for matrix models is a lasting mystery. We elaborate on the claim that the situation is improved when integrability is enhanced to super-integrability, i.e. to explicit formulas for Gaussian averages of characters. In this case, the Virasoro constraints are equivalent to simple recursive formulas, which have appropriate combinations of characters as their solutions. Moreover, one can easily separate dependence on the size of matrix, and deduce superintegrability from the Virasoro constraints. We describe one of the ways to do so for the Gaussian Hermitian matrix model. The result is a spectacularly elegant reformulation of Virasoro constraints as identities for the Schur functions evaluated at appropriate loci in the space of time-variables.

We demonstrate that the symmetric elliptic polynomials $E_λ(x)$ originally discovered in the study of generalized Noumi-Shiraishi functions are eigenfunctions of the elliptic Ruijsenaars-Schneider (eRS) Hamiltonians that act on the mother function variable $y_i$ (substitute of the Young-diagram variable $λ$). This means they are eigenfunctions of the dual eRS system. At the same time, their orthogonal complements in the Schur scalar product, $P_R(x)$ are eigenfunctions of the elliptic reduction of the Koroteev-Shakirov (KS) Hamiltonians. This means that these latter are related to the dual eRS Hamiltonians by a somewhat mysterious orthogonality transformation, which is well defined only on the full space of time variables, while the coordinates $x_i$ appear only after the Miwa transform. This observation explains the difficulties with getting the apparently self-dual Hamiltonians from the double elliptic version of the KS Hamiltonians.

Recently we explained that the classical $Q$ Schur functions stand behind various well-known properties of the cubic Kontsevich model, and the next step is to ask what happens in this approach to the generalized Kontsevich model (GKM) with monomial potential $X^{n+1}$. We propose to use the Hall-Littlewood polynomials at the parameter equal to the $n$-th root of unity as a generalization of the $Q$ Schur functions from $n=2$ to arbitrary $n>2$. They are associated with $n$-strict Young diagrams and are independent of time-variables $p_{kn}$ with numbers divisible by $n$. These are exactly the properties possessed by the generalized Kontsevich model (GKM), thus its partition function can be expanded in such functions $Q^{(n)}$. However, the coefficients of this expansion remain to be properly identified. At this moment, we have not found any "superintegrability" property $<character>\,\sim character$, which expressed these coefficients through the values of $Q$ at delta-loci in the $n=2$ case. This is not a big surprise, because for $n>2$ our suggested $Q$ functions are not looking associated with characters.

We present a review of the spin Hurwitz numbers, which count the ramified coverings with spin structures. They are related to peculiar $Q$ Schur functions, which are actually related to characters of the Sergeev group. This allows one to put the whole story into the modern context of matrix models and integrable hierarchies. Hurwitz partition functions are actually broader than conventional $τ$-functions, but reduce to them in particular circumstances. We explain, how a special $d$-soliton $τ$-functions of KdV and Veselov-Novikov hierarchies generate the spin Hurwitz numbers $H^\pm\left( Γ^r_d \right)$ and $H^\pm\left( Γ^r_d,Δ\right)$. The generating functions of the spin Hurwitz numbers are hypergeometric $τ$-functions of the BKP integrable hierarchy, and we present their fermionic realization. We also explain how one can construct $τ$-functions of this type entirely in terms of the $Q$ Schur functions. An important role in this approach is played by factorization formulas for the $Q$ Schur functions on special loci.

This explicit calculability is a stronger feature than ordinary integrability, just like the cases of quadratic and Coulomb potentials are distinguished among other central potentials, and we call it superintegrability. Aa a peculiarity of matrix models, the relevant basis is formed by the Schur polynomials (characters) and their generalizations, and superintegrability looks like a property $<character>\,\sim character$. This is already known to happen in the most important cases of Hermitian, unitary, and complex matrix models. Here we add two more examples of principal importance, where the model depends on external fields: a special version of the complex model and the cubic Kontsevich model. In the former case, straightforward is a generalization to the complex tensor model. In the latter case, the relevant characters are the celebrated $Q$ Schur functions appearing in the description of spin Hurwitz numbers and other related contexts.

However, they are quite difficult to derive and investigate. Much simpler should be the equations for coefficients of differential expansion nicknamed quantum ${\cal C}$-polynomials. It turns out that, for each knot, one can actually derive two difference equations of a finite order for these coefficients, those with shifts in spin $n$ of the representation and in $A=q^N$. Thus, the ${\cal C}$-polynomials are much richer and form an entire ring. We demonstrate this with the examples of various defect zero knots, mostly discussing the entire twist family.

As a development of arXiv:1912.12897, we note that the ordinary Shiraishi functions have an insufficient number of parameters to describe generic eigenfunctions of double elliptic system (Dell). The lacking parameter can be provided by substituting elliptic instead of the ordinary Gamma functions in the coefficients of the series. These new functions (ELS-functions) are conjectured to be functions governed by compactified DIM networks which can simultaneously play the three roles: solutions to non-stationary Dell equations, Dell conformal blocks with the degenerate field (surface operator) insertion, and the corresponding instanton sums in $6d$ SUSY gauge theories with adjoint matter. We describe the basics of the corresponding construction and make further conjectures about the various limits and dualities which need to be checked to make a precise statement about the Dell description by double-periodic network models with DIM symmetry. We also demonstrate that the ELS-functions provide symmetric polynomials, which are an elliptic generalization of Macdonald ones, and compute the generation function of the elliptic genera of the affine Laumon spaces. In the particular $U(1)$ case, we find an explicit plethystic formula for the $6d$ partition function, which is a non-trivial elliptic generalization of the $(q,t)$ Nekrasov-Okounkov formula from $5d$.

We evaluate the differences of HOMFLY-PT invariants for pairs of mutant knots colored with representations of $SL(N)$, which are large enough to distinguish between them. These mutant pairs include the pretzel mutants, which require at least the representation, labeled by the Young diagram $[4,2]$. We discuss the differential expansion for the differences, it is non-trivial in the case of mutants, which have the non-zero defect. The most effective technical tool, in this case, turns out to be the standard Reshetikhin-Turaev approach.

Link/knot invariants are series with integer coefficients, and it is a long-standing problem to get them positive and possessing cohomological interpretation. Constructing positive "superpolynomials" is not straightforward, especially for colored invariants. A simpler alternative is a multi-parametric generalization of the character expansion, which leads to colored "hyperpolynomials". The third construction involves branes on resolved conifolds, which gives rise to still another family of invariants associated with composite representations. We revisit this triality issue in the simple case of the Hopf link and discover a previously overlooked way to produce positive colored superpolynomials from the DIM-governed four-point functions, thus paving a way to a new relation between super- and hyperpolynomials.

Abstract:
By considering radiative corrections of up to 3rd-loop order, Ritus and Narozhny conjectured that the proper expansion parameter for QED in a strong constant crossed field is $g=αχ^{2/3}$, where the dynamical quantum parameter $χ=e\sqrt{-(Fp)^2}/m^3$ combines the particle momentum $p$ with the external field strength tensor $F$. Here we present and discuss the first non-perturbative result in this context, the resummed bubble-type polarization corrections to the electron self-energy in a constant crossed field. Our analysis confirms the relevance of the scaling parameter $g$ to the enhancement of bubble-type radiative corrections. This parameter actually represents the characteristic value of the ratio of the 1-loop polarization bubble to the photon virtuality. After an all-order resummation we identify and discuss two contributions to the self-energy with different formation regions and asymptotic behavior for $g\gg1$. Whereas the breakdown of perturbation theory occurs already for $g\gtrsim1$, the leading-order result remains dominant until the asymptotic regime $g\gg 1$ is reached. However, the latter is specific to processes like elastic scattering or photon emission and does not have to remain true for general higher-order QED processes.

We suggest a further generalization of the hypergeometric-like series due to M. Noumi and J. Shiraishi by substituting the Pochhammer symbol with a nearly arbitrary function. Moreover, this generalization is valid for the entire Shiraishi series, not only for its Noumi-Shiraishi part. The theta function needed in the recently suggested description of the double-elliptic systems, 6d N=2* SYM instanton calculus and the doubly-compactified network models, is a very particular member of this huge family. The series depends on two kinds of variables, $\vec x$ and $\vec y$, and on a set of parameters, which becomes infinitely large now. Still, one of the parameters, $p$ is distinguished by its role in the series grading. When $\vec y$ are restricted to a discrete subset labeled by Young diagrams, the series multiplied by a monomial factor reduces to a polynomial at any given order in $p$. All this makes the map from functions to the hypergeometric-like series very promising, and we call it Shiraishi functor despite it remains to be seen, what are exactly the morphisms that it preserves. Generalized Noumi-Shiraishi (GNS) symmetric polynomials inspired by the Shiraishi functor in the leading order in $p$ can be obtained by a triangular transform from the Schur polynomials and possess an interesting grading. They provide a family of deformations of Macdonald polynomials, as rich as the family of Kerov functions, still very different from them, and, in fact, much closer to the Macdonald polynomials. In particular, unlike the Kerov case, these polynomials do not depend on the ordering of Young diagrams in the triangular expansion.
