We study thermal leptogenesis in realistic supersymmetric flipped $SU(5)\times U(1)$ unification. As up-type quarks and neutrinos are arranged in the same multiplets, they exhibit strong correlations, and it is commonly believed that the masses of right-handed (RH) neutrinos are too hierarchical to fit the low-energy neutrino data. This pattern generally predicts a lightest RH neutrino too light to yield successful leptogenesis, with any lepton-antilepton asymmetry generated from heavier neutrinos being washed out unless special flavour structures are assumed. We propose a different scenario in which the lightest two RH neutrinos $N_1$ and $N_2$ have nearby masses of order $10^9$ GeV, with thermal leptogenesis arising non-resonantly from both $N_1$ and $N_2$. We show that this pattern is consistent with all data on fermion masses and mixing and predicts the lightest physical left-handed neutrino mass to be smaller than about $10^{-7}$ eV. The Dirac phase, which does not take the maximal CP-violating value, plays an important role in leptogenesis.

In this work we advocate a set of novel azimuthal-angle-related observables associated with exclusive hadron production from two-photon fusion at $e^+ e^-$ colliders, taking the $γγ\to ππ$ as a benchmark process. As a direct consequence of the linearly polarized quasi-real photons emitted off the electron and positron beams, the $\cos 2φ$ azimuthal asymmetry in dipion production is predicted within the transverse-momentum-dependent (TMD) factorization framework. In numerical analysis, we take the helicity amplitudes of $γγ\to ππ$ determined from the partial wave solutions in dispersion relation as input, and find that the predicted $\cos2φ$ azimuthal modulation may reach 40\% for the typical kinematical setup of {\tt Belle} experiment. Future accurate measurement of this azimuthal asymmetry may facilitate the direct extraction of the relative phase between two helicity amplitudes with photon helicity configurations $++$ and $+-$. This knowledge provides a valuable input for the dispersive determination of the hadronic light-by-light (Hlbl) contributions, which constitutes one of the largest theoretical uncertainties in predictions for the muon anomalous magnetic moment.

We discuss the potential of future proton decay experiments on the exploration of the flavour space of grand unification. We focus on an economical SU(5) grand unified model (GUT) with the fermion sector extended by including only one copy of 24-plet. Neutrino masses are generated via type-(I+III) seesaw mechanism with the lightest neutrino massless. Gauge unification requires masses of fermions in the 24-plet to be hierarchical, in particular, the electroweak singlet and triplet heavy leptons to be around the canonical seesaw scale and TeV scale, respectively. We address how extra parameters in the flavour space which cannot be touched in flavour measurements can be tested by a multi-channel analysis in future proton decay measurements.

The coherent photons induced by relativistic heavy ions are highly linearly polarized, in close analogy to the linear polarization of gluons in a large nucleus. We proposed to measure the photon polarization through azimuthal asymmetries in dilepton production in ultra-peripheral collisions. Our prediction for the asymmetries were soon confirmed by the STAR experiment with high precision. We refined our analysis recently by including the final state soft photon radiation effect beyond the double leading logarithm approximation. The azimuthal asymmetries and acoplanarity at relatively high transverse momentum provide unique opportunities to test the resummation formalism thanks to the extremely high photon flux in UPCs. Our results clearly show the feasibility to access the sub-leading resummation effects in UPCs at the RHIC and LHC.

The impact of nuclear structure has garnered considerable attention in the high-energy nuclear physics community in recent years. This work focuses on studying the potential nuclear cluster structure in $^{16}\text{O}$ nuclei using anisotropic flow observables in $\rm O+O$ collisions at 200 GeV. Employing an improved AMPT model with various cluster structure configurations, we find that an extended effective parton formation time is necessary to align with the recent STAR experimental data. In addition, we reveal that the presented flow observables serve as sensitive probes for differentiating configurations of $α$-clustering of $^{16}\text{O}$ nuclei. The systematic AMPT calculations presented in this paper, along with comprehensive comparisons to forthcoming experimental measurements at RHIC and the LHC, pave the way for a novel approach to investigate the $α$-clustering structure of $^{16}\text{O}$ nuclei using $\rm O+O$ collisions at the ultra-relativistic energies.

We developed a method to analyze the polarization correlations of two baryons $B_{1}\bar{B}_{2}$ with various spin combinations in the annihilation process. We established spin density matrices for arbitrary spins in standard and Cartesian forms, and demonstrated their application in the helicity formalism. This paper provides parametrization schemes for the helicity amplitudes and details the analysis of two baryons with spin combinations of (1/2, 1/2), (1/2, 3/2), and (1/2, 5/2). We also illustrated methods for determining the spin and parity of the excited baryon $\barΞ^{*+}$ using the $e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow γ^*/ψ\rightarrow Ξ^{-}\barΞ^{*+}$ process as an example. Our research offers broad opportunities for exploring the baryon spectrum and transition form factors in electron-positron annihilation.

If ($m_χ$, $σ_{χe}$) can be determined in the future, DD experiments are expected to impose strong constraints on $f_{PBH}$ for large $M_{PBH}$s.

We explore the new physics phenomena of gravidynamics governed by the inhomogeneous spin gauge symmetry based on the gravitational quantum field theory. Such a gravidynamics enables us to derive the generalized Einstein equation and an equation beyond it. To simplify the analyses, we linearize the dynamic equations of gravitational interaction by kee** terms up to the leading order in the dual gravigauge field. We then apply the linearized dynamic equations into two particular gravitational phenomena. First, we consider the linearized equations in the absence of source fields, which is shown to have five physical propagating polarizations as gravitational waves, i.e., two tensor modes, two vector modes, and one scalar, instead of two tensor polarizations in the general relativity. Second, we examine the Newtonian limit in which the gravitational fields and the matter source distribution are weak and static. By deriving the associated Poisson equation, we obtain the exact relation of the fundamental interaction coupling in the gravidynamics with the experimentally measured Newtonian constant. We also make use of nonrelativistic objects and relativistic photons to probe the Newtonian field configurations. In particular, the experiments from the gravitational deflection of light rays and the Shapiro time delay can place stringent constraints on the linearized gravidynamics in the gravitational quantum field theory.

The absolute branching fraction of $D^0\to K^-π^0μ^{+}ν_μ$ is measured for the first time to be $(0.729 \pm 0.014_{\rm stat} \pm 0.011_{\rm syst})\%$. Based on an amplitude analysis, the $S\text{-}{\rm wave}$ contribution is determined to be $(5.76 \pm 0.35_{\rm stat} \pm 0.29_{\rm syst})\%$ of the total decay rate in addition to the dominated $K^{*}(892)^-$ component. The branching fraction of $D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-μ^+ν_μ$ is given to be $(2.062 \pm 0.039_{\rm stat} \pm 0.032_{\rm syst})\%$, which improves the precision of the world average by a factor of 5. Combining with the world average of ${\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-e^+ν_e)$, the ratio of the branching fractions obtained is $\frac{{\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-μ^+ν_μ)}{{\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-e^+ν_e)} = 0.96\pm0.08$, in agreement with lepton flavor universality. Furthermore, assuming single-pole dominance parameterization, the most precise hadronic form factor ratios for $D^0\to K^{*}(892)^{-} μ^+ν_μ$ are extracted to be $r_{V}=V(0)/A_1(0)=1.37 \pm 0.09_{\rm stat} \pm 0.03_{\rm syst}$ and $r_{2}=A_2(0)/A_1(0)=0.76 \pm 0.06_{\rm stat} \pm 0.02_{\rm syst}$.

The shape phase transition for certain isotope or isotone chains, associated with the quantum phase transition of finite nuclei, is an intriguing phenomenon in nuclear physics. A notable case is the Xe isotope chain, where the structure transits from a $γ$-soft rotor to a spherical vibrator, with the second-order shape phase transition occurring in the vicinity of $^{128-130}$Xe. In this letter, we focus on investigating the $γ$-soft deformation of $^{129}$Xe associated with the second-order shape phase transition by constructing novel correlators for ultra-relativistic $^{129}$Xe+$^{129}$Xe collisions. In particular, our iEBE-VISHNU model calculations show that the $v_2^2-[p_T]$ correlation $ρ_{2}$ and the mean transverse momentum fluctuation $Γ_{p_T}$, which were previously interpreted as the evidence for the rigid triaxial deformation of $^{129}$Xe, can also be well explained by the $γ$-soft deformation of $^{129}$Xe. We also propose two novel correlators $ρ_{4,2}$ and $ρ_{2,4}$, which carry non-trivial higher-order correlations and show unique capabilities to distinguish between the $γ$-soft and the rigid triaxial deformation of $^{129}$Xe in $^{129}$Xe+$^{129}$Xe collisions at the LHC. The present study also provides a novel way to explore the second-order shape phase transition of finite nuclei with ultra-relativistic heavy ion collisions.

Primordial black holes (PBHs) with masses above $\sim 5\times10^{14}\,\mathrm{g}$ can be stable sources of CR positrons due to Hawking radiation. We show that the CR positron flux measured by AMS-02 can place stringent constraints on the energy fraction of PBHs relative to that of dark matter $f_{\text{PBH}}$. Making use of the state-of-the-art models for CR propagation in both the Galaxy and heliosphere, we obtain conservative upper limit of $f_{\text{PBH}}\lesssim3\times 10^{-4}$ at $M_{\mathrm{PBH}}\simeq2\times 10^{16}$ g, which improves the previous constraints obtained from the Voyager CR all-electron data by around an order of magnitude.

We explore the impact of initial state soft gluon radiations on the azimuthal angle asymmetries in photo-production of hard di-jet via coherent diffraction in ultraperipheral heavy ion collisions, as well as in electron-proton ($ep$) and electron-nucleus ($eA$) collisions. The primary production mechanism is identified as the diffractive production of two hard jets, accompanied by a collinear gluon emission along the beam direction. In contrast, the diffractive exclusive di-jet production, where the initial state radiation is absent, is suppressed due to color transparency. Our analysis shows that azimuthal asymmetries, traditionally attributed to final state gluon emissions, are reduced by the presence of initial state radiations. The sensitivity of azimuthal asymmetries to both initial and final state radiations suggests that they could provide novel insights into the mechanisms of di-jet production in diffractive processes.

We propose a major upgrade to the existing PandaX-4T experiment in the China **** Underground Laboratory. The new experiment, PandaX-xT, will be a multi-ten-tonne liquid xenon, ultra-low background, and general-purpose observatory. The full-scaled PandaX-xT contains a 43-tonne liquid xenon active target. Such an experiment will significantly advance our fundamental understanding of particle physics and astrophysics. The sensitivity of dark matter direct detection will be improved by nearly two orders of magnitude compared to the current best limits, approaching the so-called "neutrino floor" for a dark matter mass above 10 GeV/$c^2$, providing a decisive test to the Weakly Interacting Massive Particle paradigm. By searching for the neutrinoless double beta decay of $^{136}$Xe isotope in the detector, the effective Majorana neutrino mass can be measured to a [10 -- 41] meV/$c^2$ sensitivity, providing a key test to the Dirac/Majorana nature of neutrino s. Astrophysical neutrinos and other ultra-rare interactions can also be measured and searched for with an unprecedented background level, opening up new windows of discovery. Depending on the findings, PandaX-xT will seek the next stage upgrade utilizing isotopic separation on natural xenon.

To avoid vanishing or degenerate lepton masses, the stabiliser in the charged lepton sector always preserves a $Z_3$ symmetry, and that in the neutrino preserves a $Z_2$ symmetry. By scanning all viable stabilisers, a unique Trimaximal TM2 mixing is predicted. However, the prediction of the lightest neutrino mass and the mass parameter in neutrinoless double beta decay, as well as two Majorana phases, are different and classified into three cases.

We investigate the production of spin-3/2 hadrons in semi-inclusive deep inelastic lepton-nucleon scatterings. The complete differential cross section is derived through the kinematic analysis and expressed in terms of 288 structure functions, corresponding to all polarization configurations and azimuthal modulations. For an unpolarized lepton beam, half of the 192 structure functions have nonzero leading order contributions in the parton model, among which 42 are from rank-3 tensor polarized fragmentation functions of the hadron. For a polarized lepton beam, one third of the 96 structure functions contribute at the leading order and 14 of them are from rank-3 tensor polarized fragmentation functions. In addition to the formalism, we perform a model estimation of the spin transfer to a $S_{hLLL}$ polarized hadron and sizable asymmetry is expected. Therefore, these newly defined observables for the production of a spin-3/2 hadron in a deep inelastic scattering process can be explored in future experiments to understand nucleon spin structures and spin-dependent fragmentation functions.

We investigate the nano-Hertz gravitational waves emitted by axion domain walls annihilation from the double level crossings. The double level crossings exists in the mass mixing between two axion fields, one of which is the $Z_{\mathcal N}$ QCD axion. Here we consider a general mixing case that the heavy and light mass eigenvalues do not necessarily have to coincide with the axion masses. In order to form the domain walls, the axions should start to oscillate slightly before the first level crossing, and the initial oscillation energy density should be large to climb over the barrier of potential. In this case, the axion dynamics has a chaotic run-away behavior, which is considered to be accompanied by domain walls formation. Then we investigate the gravitational waves emitted by axion domain walls annihilation, which is determined by their peak frequency and peak amplitude. Finally, we show the predicted nano-Hertz gravitational waves spectra from the double level crossings, which can be tested by the current and future pulsar timing array projects.

We perform a phenomenological comparison of the gravitational wave (GW) spectrum expected from cosmic gauge string networks and superstring networks comprised of multiple string types. We show how violations of scaling behavior and the evolution of the number of relativistic degrees of freedom in the early Universe affect the GW spectrum. We derive simple analytical expressions for the GW spectrum from superstrings and gauge strings that are valid for all frequencies relevant to pulsar timing arrays (PTAs) and laser interferometers. We analyze the latest data from PTAs and show that superstring networks are consistent with 32 nHz data from NANOGrav, but are excluded by 3.2 nHz data at $3σ$ unless the string coupling $g_s<0.2$ or the strings evolve in only about 10% of the volume of the higher-dimensional space. We also point out that while gauge string networks are excluded by NANOGrav-15 data at $3σ$, they are completely compatible with EPTA and PPTA data. Finally, we study correlations between GW signals at PTAs and laser interferometers.

We investigate the production of spin-3/2 hyperon pairs, $Ω^- \barΩ^+$, in electron-positron annihilation within the helicity amplitude formalism. A refined selection of helicity basis matrices is proposed to relate polarization expansion coefficients and spin density matrix elements and to illuminate their inherent physical interpretations and symmetrical properties. With a novel parametrization scheme of helicity amplitudes, we perform an analysis of polarization correlation coefficients for double-tag $Ω^- \barΩ^+$ pairs. We present three sets of expressions to describe the decay of $Ω^{-}$ hyperons, and further address the existing tension in the measurements of its decay parameters, particularly $φ_Ω$. The method and the framework developed in this paper can also be applied to studies of the production and decay mechanisms of other spin-3/2 particles.

Focusing on the back-to-back production of electron-hadron pairs in both $ep$ and $eA$ collisions, we establish a factorization theorem given in terms of the hard function, quark distributions, soft functions, and TEEC jet functions, where the gluon saturation effect is incorporated. Numerical results for TEEC in both $ep$ and $eA$ collisions are presented, together with the nuclear modification factor $R_A$. Our analysis reveals that TEEC observables in deep inelastic scattering provide a valuable approach for probing gluon saturation phenomena. We study supersymmetric (SUSY) flipped $SU(5)\times U(1)$ unification, focussing on its predictions for proton decay, fermion masses and gravitational waves. We performed a two-loop renormalisation group analysis and showed that the SUSY flipped $SU(5)$ model predicts a high GUT scale $M_{\rm GUT} > 10^{16}$ GeV. We also investigated the restrictions on the $M_{B-L}$ scale which is associated with the $U(1)_χ$ breaking scale. We found that the $M_{B-L}$ scale can vary in a broad region with negligible or little effect on the value of $M_{\rm GUT}$. Proton decay in this model is induced by dimension-6 operators only. The dimension-5 operator induced by SUSY contribution is suppressed due to the missing partner mechanism. We found that the partial decay width $p \to π^0 e^+$ is high suppressed, being at least one order of magnitude lower than the future Hyper-K sensitivity. We also studied fermion (including neutrino) masses and mixings which can also influence proton decay. We presented two scenarios of flavour textures to check the consistency of the results with fermion masses and mixing. The $B-L$ gauge breaking leads to the generation of cosmic strings. The $B-L$ scale here is not constrained by gauge coupling unification. If this scale is very close that of GUT breaking, strings can be unstable due to the decay to monopole-antimonople pair. Such metastable strings can be used to explain the NANOGrav signals of stochastic gravitational wave background, which may be interpreted here as resulting from the decay of metastable cosmic strings.

In this work, we present a complete theoretical framework for analyzing the distribution of polarized hadrons within jets, with and without measuring the transverse momentum relative to the standard jet axis. Using soft-collinear effective theory (SCET), we derive the factorization and provide the theoretical calculation of both semi-inclusive and exclusive fragmenting jet functions (FJFs) under longitudinal and transverse polarization. With the polarized FJFs, one gains access to a variety of new observables that can be used for extracting both collinear and transverse momentum dependent parton distribution functions (PDFs) and fragmentation functions (FFs). As examples, we provide numerical results for the spin asymmetry $A_{TU,T}^{\cos(φ_S - \hatφ_{S_h})}$ from polarized semi-inclusive hadron-in-jet production in polarized $pp$ collisions at RHIC kinematics, where a transversely polarized quark would lead to the transverse spin of the final-state hadron inside the jet and is thus sensitive to the transversity fragmentation functions. Similarly, another spin asymmetry, $A_{TU, L}^{\cos(φ_q - φ_{S})}$ from polarized exclusive hadron-in-jet production in polarized $ep$ collisions at EIC kinematics would allow us to access the helicity fragmentation functions. These observables demonstrate promising potential in investigating transverse momentum dependent PDFs and FFs and are worthwhile for further measurements.

The first level crossing occurs much earlier than the QCD phase transition, while the second level crossing occurs exactly during the QCD phase transition if it exists. We also find that the single level crossing can transform into the double level crossings, depending on the ALP mass $m_A$ versus the zero-temperature $Z_{\mathcal N}$ axion mass $m_{a,0}$. Compared with the no level crossing case, the $Z_{\mathcal N}$ axion relic density can be suppressed in the single level crossing, and enhanced or suppressed in the double level crossings.

Recently a dark matter-electron (DM-electron) paradigm has drawn much attention. Models beyond the standard halo model describing DM accelerated by high energy celestial bodies are under intense examination as well. In this Letter, a velocity components analysis (VCA) method dedicated to swift analysis of accelerated DM-electron interactions via semiconductor detectors is proposed and the first HPGe detector-based accelerated DM-electron analysis is realized. Utilizing the method, the first germanium based constraint on sub-GeV solar reflected DM-electron interaction is presented with the 205.4 kg$\cdot$day dataset from the CDEX-10 experiment. In the heavy mediator scenario, our result excels in the mass range of 5$-$15 keV/$c^2$, achieving a 3 orders of magnitude improvement comparing with previous semiconductor experiments. In the light mediator scenario, the strongest laboratory constraint for DM lighter than 0.1 MeV/$c^2$ is presented. The result proves the feasibility and demonstrates the vast potential of the VCA technique in future accelerated DM-electron analyses with semiconductor detectors.

For further decoding the inner structure of the two excited $Ξ_b$ states observed by LHCb, we perform a systematical study of the strong decays of the low-lying $1D$-wave $Ξ_b$ and $Ξ_b'$ excitations using the quark pair creation model within the $j-j$ coupling scheme. Combining with the measured masses and decay properties of $Ξ_{b}(6327)^{0}$ and $Ξ_{b}(6327)^{0}$, the two excited states can be explained as $1D$ $λ$-mode $Ξ_b$ states $Ξ_{b}|J^{P}=\frac{3}{2}^{+},2\rangle_{λλ}$ and $Ξ_{b}|J^{P}=\frac{5}{2}^{+},2\rangle_{λλ}$, respectively. If such a view were correct, $Ξ_b'π$ and $Ξ_b'^*π$ could be another interesting channels for experimental exploring of the $Ξ_{b}(6327)^{0}$ and $Ξ_{b}(6327)^{0}$, respectively. Those calculations are good consistent with the results within the chiral quark model. In addition, for the other missing $1D$-wave $Ξ_b$ and $Ξ_b'$ excitations, our predictions indicate that:(i) the two $ρ$-mode $1D$ $Ξ_b$ states are likely to be moderate states with a width of $Γ\sim50$ MeV. The $J^P=3/2^+$ state dominantly decays into $Σ_bK$ and $Ξ_b'π$, while the $J^P=5/2^+$ state decays primarily through $Σ_b^*K$ and $Ξ_b'^*π$. (ii) The $λ$-mode $1D$ $Ξ_b'$ states may be moderate states with a widths of about several to dozens of MeV. Most of the $λ$-mode $1D$ $Ξ_b'$ states mainly decay into the $1P$-wave bottomed baryon via the pionic decay processes. Meanwhile, several $λ$-mode $1D$ $Ξ_b'$ states have significant decay rates into $ΛB$. (iii) While, the $ρ$-mode $1D$ $Ξ_b'$ states are predicted to be very broad states with a width of about several hundreds MeV. It will be a great challenge to explore the $ρ$-mode $1D$ $Ξ_b'$ states in experiments for their broad widths.

We present a comprehensive analysis of a supersymmetric $SO(10)$ Grand Unified Theory, which is broken to the Standard Model via the breaking of two intermediate symmetries. The spontaneous breaking of the first intermediate symmetry, $B-L$, leads to the generation of cosmic strings and right-handed neutrino masses and further to an observable cosmological background of gravitational waves and generation of light neutrino masses via type-I seesaw mechanism. Supersymmetry breaking manifests as sparticle masses below the $B-L$ breaking but far above the electroweak scale due to proton decay limits. This naturally pushes the $B-L$ breaking scale close to the GUT scale, leading to the formation of metastable cosmic strings, which can provide a gravitational wave spectrum consistent with the recent Pulsar Timing Arrays observation. We perform a detailed analysis of this model using two-loop renormalisation group equations, including threshold corrections, to determine the symmetry-breaking scale consistent with the recent Pulsar Timing Arrays signals such as NANOGrav 15-year data and testable by the next-generation limits on proton decay from Hyper-K and JUNO. Simultaneously, we find the regions of the model parameter space that can predict the measured quark and lepton masses and mixing, baryon asymmetry of our Universe, a viable dark matter candidate and can be tested by a combination of neutrinoless double beta decay searches and limits on the sum of neutrinos masses.

The branching fraction of this decay is measured to be ${\mathcal B}(J/ψ\to e^+ e^- π^0 η(1405) \to e^+ e^- π^0 f_0(980) \to e^+ e^- π^0 π^+ π^-)=(2.02\pm0.24(\rm{stat.})\pm0.09(\rm{syst.}))\times 10^{-7}$. The branching-fraction ratio ${\mathcal B}(J/ψ\to e^+ e^- η(1405))$/${\mathcal B}(J/ψ\to γη(1405))$ is determined to be $(1.35\pm0.19(\rm{stat.})\pm0.06(\rm{syst.}))\times10^{-2}$. Furthermore, an $e^+e^-$ invariant-mass dependent transition form factor of $J/ψ\to e^+ e^-η(1405)$ is presented for the first time. The obtained result provides input for different theoretical models, and is valuable for the improved understanding the intrinsic structure of the $η(1405)$ meson.

Halo dark matter (DM) particles could lose energy due to the scattering off nuclei within the Earth before reaching the underground detectors of DM direct detection experiments. This Earth shielding effect can result in diurnal modulation of the DM-induced recoil event rates observed underground due to the self-rotation of the Earth. For electron recoil signals from DM-electron scatterings, the current experimental constraints are very stringent such that the diurnal modulation cannot be observed for halo DM. We propose a novel type of diurnal modulation effect: diurnal modulation in electron recoil signals induced by DM-nucleon scattering via the Migdal effect. We set so far the most stringent constraints on DM-nucleon scattering cross section via the Migdal effect for sub-GeV DM using the S2-only data of PandaX-II and PandaX-4T with improved simulations of the Earth shielding effect. Based on the updated constraints, we show that the Migdal effect induced diurnal modulation of electron events can still be significant in the low energy region, and can be probed by experiments such as PandaX-4T in the near future.

We present a detailed investigation of the azimuthal asymmetries and acoplanarity in lepton pair production in ultraperipheral collisions (UPCs). These observables provide a unique opportunity to test the SCET resummation formalism, given the extremely high photon flux in UPCs, which enables precise measurements of these processes. We improve the accuracy of the previous calculations by including the soft photon contributions beyond the double leading logarithm approximation. Notably, the single logarithm terms arising from the collinear region are greatly enhanced by the small mass of the leptons. Our findings demonstrate the accessibility of these sub-leading logarithm resummation effects through the analysis of angular correlations in lepton pairs produced in UPCs at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) and the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).

As the system size increases, the average of RT near the 1st-PTL increases at a higher power compared to that near the CP. We further show that RT near the 1st-PTL is not only non-self-averaging, but actually self-diverging: relative variance of RT increases with system size. The presence of coexisting and metastable states results in a substantial increase in randomness near the 1st-PTL, and therefore makes the equilibrium more difficult to achieve.

The supermassive black holes (SMBHs) are ubiquitous in the center of galaxies, although the origin of their massive seeds is still unknown. In this paper, we investigate the SMBHs formation from the QCD axion bubbles. In this case, the primordial black holes (PBHs) are considered as the seeds of SMBHs, which are generated from the QCD axion bubbles due to an explicit Peccei-Quinn (PQ) symmetry breaking after inflation. The QCD axion bubbles are formed when the QCD axion starts to oscillate during the QCD phase transition. We consider a general case in which the axion bubbles are formed with the bubble effective angle $θ_{\rm eff}\in(0, \, π]$, leading to the minimum PBH mass $\sim\mathcal{O}(10^4-10^7)M_\odot$ for the axion decay constant $f_a\sim\mathcal{O}(10^{16})\, \rm GeV$. The PBHs at this mass region may account for the seeds of SMBHs.

In this work, we systematically study the OZI-allowed two-body strong decay properties of $1P$- and $1D$-wave $Σ_c$ baryons within the $j $-$j$ coupling scheme in the framework of the quark pair creation model. For a comparison, we also give the predictions of the chiral quark model. Some model dependencies can be found in the predictions of two models. The calculations indicate that: (i) The $1P$-wave $λ$-mode $Σ_c$ states most likely to be relatively narrow states with a width of $Γ<80$ MeV. Their main decay channels are $Λ_cπ$, or $Σ_cπ$, or $Σ_c^*π$. The $1P$-wave $ρ$-mode states most might be broad states with a width of $Γ\sim 100-200$ MeV. They dominantly decay into $Σ_cπ$ and $Σ_c^*π$ channels. Some evidences of these $1P$-wave states are most likely to be observed in the $Λ_cπ$ and $Λ_cππ$ invariant mass spectra around the energy range of $2.75-2.95$ GeV. (ii) The $1D$-wave $λ$-mode $Σ_c$ excitations may be moderate states with a width of about dozens of MeV. The $1D$-wave $λ$-mode states mainly decay into the $1P$-wave charmed baryon via the pionic decay processes. Meanwhile, several $1D$-wave $λ$-mode states have significant decay rates into $DN$ or $D^*N$. Hence, the $DN$ and $D^*N$ are likely to be interesting channels for experimental exploration. (iii) Furthermore, the two $1D$-wave $ρ$-mode excitations $Σ_c|J^P=5/2^+,3\rangle_{ρρ}$ and $|J^P=7/2^+,3\rangle_{ρρ}$ are most likely to be fairly narrow state with a width of dozens of MeV, and they mainly decay into $Λ_cπ$. Some evidences of them might be observed in the $Λ_cπ$ invariant mass spectra around the energy range of $3.1-3.2$ GeV.

The final state QED radiation effects are resummed to all orders in perturbation theory, where the complete muon mass corrections are also taken into account. We further make numerical estimations for azimuthal asymmetries in the different kinematic regions accessible at RHIC and LHC with the derived resummation formula. We find that the lepton mass effects can give sizable corrections to the asymmetries at relatively large pair transverse momentum at RHIC energy.

However, due to stringent constraints from the measurements of CR antiprotons and $γ$-rays, the flux of CR antihelium from the conventional DM direct annihilation into Standard Model final states is expected to be far below the sensitivity of the current experiments. We show that the production of antihelium can be significantly enhanced if the DM particles annihilate through light mediator particles with a mass $m_φ\approx 8$ GeV close to the antihelium production threshold. After taking into account the constraints from the AMS-02 antiproton data and the Fermi-LAT $γ$-ray data on the spheroidal dwarf galaxies, we find that in this scenario the CR antihelium flux can be enhanced by three orders of magnitude, which makes it within the sensitivity of the ongoing AMS-02 experiment.

In the presence of PBH abundance compatible with present bounds, our result excludes the $χ$-nucleon elastic-scattering cross section region from 3.4$\times$10$^{-32}$ cm$^{2}$ to 2.3$\times$10$^{-29}$ cm$^{2}$ for $χ$ of 1 keV to 24 MeV from PBHs with masses of 5$\times$10$^{15}$ g, as well as from 1.1$\times$10$^{-28}$ cm$^{2}$ to 7.6$\times$10$^{-28}$ cm$^{2}$ for $χ$ of 1 keV to 0.6 MeV from PBHs with masses of 7$\times$10$^{16}$ g. If the $χ$-nucleon elastic-scattering cross section can be determined in the future, the abundance of PBHs may be severely constrained by $χ$ evaporation. With the lower threshold (160 eVee) of the CDEX-10 experiment compared to the previously used experiments, this work allows for a better reach at soft spectra produced by heavier PBHs, which demonstrates the vast potential of such a technical route to pursue $χ$ from larger PBHs with a low threshold.

Focusing on the double longitudinal spin asymmetry, we identify the kinematics relevant for future experiments at Jefferson Lab and the Electron-Ion Collider which are particularly sensitive to the polarized gluon channel and could discriminate between the different $Δg$ behaviors.

We investigate exotic neutrino interactions using the 205.4 kg$\cdot$day dataset from the CDEX-10 experiment at the China **** Underground Laboratory. New constraints on the mass and couplings of new gauge bosons are presented. Two nonstandard neutrino interactions are considered: a $U(1)_{B-L}$ gauge-boson-induced interaction between an active neutrino and electron/nucleus, and a dark-photon-induced interaction between a sterile neutrino and electron/nucleus via kinetic mixing with a photon. This work probes an unexplored parameter space involving sterile neutrino coupling with a dark photon. New laboratory limits are derived on dark photon masses below $1~{\rm eV}/c^{2}$ at some benchmark values of $Δm_{41}^{2}$ and $g^{\prime2}{\rm{sin}}^{2}2θ_{14}$.

We report a measurement of cumulants and correlation functions of event-by-event proton multiplicity distributions from fixed-target Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 3 GeV measured by the STAR experiment. Protons are identified within the rapidity ($y$) and transverse momentum ($p_{\rm T}$) region $-0.9 < y<0$ and $0.4 < p_{\rm T} <2.0 $ GeV/$c$ in the center-of-mass frame. A systematic analysis of the proton cumulants and correlation functions up to sixth-order as well as the corresponding ratios as a function of the collision centrality, $p_{\rm T}$, and $y$ are presented. The effect of pileup and initial volume fluctuations on these observables and the respective corrections are discussed in detail. The results are compared to calculations from the hadronic transport UrQMD model as well as a hydrodynamic model. In the most central 5\% collisions, the value of proton cumulant ratio $C_4/C_2$ is negative, drastically different from the values observed in Au+Au collisions at higher energies. Compared to model calculations including Lattice QCD, a hadronic transport model, and a hydrodynamic model, the strong suppression in the ratio of $C_4/C_2$ at 3 GeV Au+Au collisions indicates an energy regime dominated by hadronic interactions.

A major goal of the hot QCD program, the extraction of the properties of the quark gluon plasma (QGP), is currently limited by our poor knowledge of the initial condition of the QGP, in particular how it is shaped from the colliding nuclei. To attack this limitation, we propose to exploit collisions of selected species to precisely assess how the initial condition changes under variations of the structure of the colliding ions. This knowledge, combined with event-by-event measures of particle correlations in the final state of heavy-ion collisions, will provide in turn a new way to probe the collective structure of nuclei, and to confront and exploit the predictions of state-of-the-art ab initio nuclear structure theories. The US nuclear community should capitalize on this interdisciplinary connection by pursuing collisions of well-motivated species at high-energy colliders.
