We study the possibility to find the axion-like particles (ALPs) through the leptonic decays of heavy mesons. There are some deviations between the Standard Model (SM) predictions of the branching ratios of the leptonic decays of mesons and the experimental data. This provides some space for the existence of decay channels where the ALP is one of the products. Three scenarios are considered: first, the ALP is only coupled to one single charged fermion, namely, the quark, the antiquark, or the charged lepton; second, the ALP is only coupled to quark and antiquark with the same strength; third, the ALP is coupled to all the charged fermions with the same strength. The constraints of the coupling strength in different scenarios are obtained by comparing the experimental data of the branching ratios of leptonic decays of $B^-$, $D^+$, and $D_s^+$ mesons with the theoretical predictions which are achieved by using the Bethe-Salpeter (BS) method. These constraints are further applied to predict the upper limits of the leptonic decay processes of the $B_c^-$ meson in which the ALP participates.

In this work we try to search for signals generated by ultra-heavy dark matter at the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO) data. We look for possible gamma-ray by dark matter annihilation or decay from 16 dwarf spheroidal galaxies in the field of view of LHAASO. Dwarf spheroidal galaxies are among the most promising targets for indirect detection of dark matter which have low fluxes of astrophysical $γ$-ray background while large amount of dark matter. By analyzing more than 700 days observational data at LHAASO, no significant dark matter signal from 1 TeV to 1 EeV is detected. Accordingly we derive the most stringent constraints on the ultra-heavy dark matter annihilation cross-section up to EeV. The constraints on the lifetime of dark matter in decay mode are also derived.

A primary objective in high-energy heavy-ion collisions is to investigate the phase transition between confined and deconfined color matter. Complementary to the cumulants of conserved charges integrated over the full azimuth, we introduce a novel experimental approach to explore particle fluctuations in azimuthal partitions, which are potentially sensitive to the first-order phase transition in heavy-ion collisions. We evaluate proton multiplicity ($N_w$) fluctuations in azimuthal partitions of width $w$ to quantitatively estimate the clustering tendency among these protons. The $Δσ^2$ observable is defined as the normalized difference between the variance of the $N_w$ distribution and the binomial baseline. We demonstrate the feasibility and characteristics of this observable through simulations using the AMPT and MUSIC+FIST models. We also use a Gaussian correlation model to illustrate that the dependence of $Δσ^2$ on $w$ can be parameterized to accurately extract the strength and the range of the input interaction among protons.

Electron-neutrino charged-current interactions with xenon nuclei were modeled in the nEXO neutrinoless double-beta decay detector (~5-tonne, 90% ${}^{136}$Xe, 10% ${}^{134}$Xe) to evaluate its sensitivity to supernova neutrinos. Predictions for event rates and detectable signatures were modeled using the MARLEY event generator. We find good agreement between MARLEY's predictions and existing theoretical calculations of the inclusive cross sections at supernova neutrino energies. The interactions modeled by MARLEY were simulated within the nEXO simulation framework and were run through an example reconstruction algorithm to determine the detector's efficiency for reconstructing these events. The simulated data, incorporating the detector response, were used to study the ability of nEXO to reconstruct the incident electron-neutrino spectrum and these results were extended to a larger xenon detector of the same isotope enrichment. We estimate that nEXO will be able to observe electron-neutrino interactions with xenon from supernovae as far as 5 to 8 kpc from earth, while the ability to reconstruct incident electron-neutrino spectrum parameters from observed interactions in nEXO is limited to closer supernovae.

The invisible decay includes two decay modes: $ n \rightarrow { inv} $ and $ nn \rightarrow { inv} $. The invisible decays of $s$-shell neutrons in $^{12}{\rm C}$ will leave a highly excited residual nucleus. Subsequently, some de-excitation modes of the excited residual nuclei can produce a time- and space-correlated triple coincidence signal in the JUNO detector. Based on a full Monte Carlo simulation informed with the latest available data, we estimate all backgrounds, including inverse beta decay events of the reactor antineutrino $\barν_e$, natural radioactivity, cosmogenic isotopes and neutral current interactions of atmospheric neutrinos. Pulse shape discrimination and multivariate analysis techniques are employed to further suppress backgrounds. With two years of exposure, JUNO is expected to give an order of magnitude improvement compared to the current best limits. After 10 years of data taking, the JUNO expected sensitivities at a 90% confidence level are $τ/B( n \rightarrow { inv} ) > 5.0 \times 10^{31} \, {\rm yr}$ and $τ/B( nn \rightarrow { inv} ) > 1.4 \times 10^{32} \, {\rm yr}$.

In this paper, we evaluate the electromagnetic and gravitational form factors as well as the corresponding generalized parton distributions of the electron using the Basis Light-front Quantization approach to QED. We compare our results with those from light-front perturbation theory. We adopt a novel basis with its scale depending on the constituents' longitudinal momentum fraction. We show that this basis improves convergence of the form factors with increasing basis dimension, compared to that calculated in the original basis with fixed scale. These results both validate the BLFQ approach and provide guidance for its efficient implementation in solving light-front Hamiltonian mass eigenstates for more complex systems in QED and QCD.

Our results are in good agreement with the Belle measurements, which implies that the cusp structure around $ηΛ$ threshold could be associated with the $Λ(1670)$ with the molecular nature.

We obtain the kinetic energy $μ^2_{_π}=0.455$ GeV$^2$ for the $B$ meson, which is consistent with the experimental result $0.464\pm 0.076$ GeV$^2$. For the $B_{s}$, $D$ and $D_{s}$ mesons, the $μ^2_{_π}$ are $0.530$ GeV$^2$, $0.317$ GeV$^2$ and $0.369$ GeV$^2$, respectively. And $v^2=0.0185$, $0.0215$, $0.121$, and $0.140$ for $B$, $B_{s}$, $D$, and $D_{s}$. We obtain some relationships, for example, $q^n_{_{0^-}}(mS)\approx q^n_{_{1^-}}(mS)$, $q^n_{_{0^+}}(mP)\approx q^n_{_{1^{+'}}}(mP^{'})> q^n_{_{1^+}}(mP)\approx q^n_{_{2^+}}(mP)$, and $q^n(mS)< q^n(mP)$ ($m=1,2,3$), etc.

In addition, we also consider the predicted low-lying baryon $Σ^*(1/2^-)$. Our results involving the $Σ^*(1/2^-)$ are favored by fitting to the Belle data of the $ηΛ$ and $π^+Λ$ invariant mass distributions. Furthermore, we predict the $ηπ^+$ invariant mass distribution and the angular distribution $dΓ/d{\rm cos}θ$, which are significantly different depending on whether or not the contribution from the $Σ^*(1/2^-)$ is considered. Finally, we show that, with the contribution from the $Σ^*(1/2^-)$, the calculated Dalizt plot agrees with the Belle measurements. Future precise measurements of the process $Λ_c^+\to ηπ^+Λ$ could shed further light on the existence of the low-lying $Σ^*(1/2^-)$.

Also, the width of $K_1(3P^\prime)$ state is predicted to be about 300 MeV, which can be searched for by future experiments. We expect that present calculations can help us to better understand the nature of the $X(2085)$ structure.

In 2021, a new charm-strange meson, $D_{s0}(2590)^+$, has been discovered, it is believed to be the $D_s^+(2^1S_0)$. However, its low mass and wide width are challenged by theoretical results. Given the small branching ratio of the current production channel, resulting in a small number of events and large errors. We suggest to search for the $D_{s0}(2590)^+$ in the $B$ meson nonleptonic decays, $B_q\rightarrow D^{(*)}_qD_{s0}(2590)^+$ ($q=u,d$), followed by $D_{s0}(2590)^+\to D^*K$. We find $Br(B_q\rightarrow D^{(*)}_qD_{s0}(2590)^+)\times Br(D_{s0}(2590)^+\to D^{*}K)=(2.16\sim2.82)\times 10^{-3}$ is very large, and the result is not sensitive to the mass of $D_{s0}(2590)^+$. Due to large branching ratio, large amount of $D_{s0}(2590)^+$ events are expected. This study is based on the framework of instantaneous Bethe-Salpeter equation, and the used relativistic wave functions for mesons contain different partial waves. The contributions of different partial waves are also studied.

In this paper, we present an improved calculation for the decay rate of the rare $Z$-boson decay into $J/ψ+ J/ψ$. This decay is dominated by the photon fragmentation mechanism, i.e., the transition $Z\to J/ψ+ γ^{*}$ followed by the fragmentation $γ^{*}\to J/ψ$. In our calculation, the amplitude of $γ^{*}\to J/ψ$ is extracted from the measured value of $Γ(J/ψ\to e^+ e^-)$, and the amplitude of $Z\to J/ψ+ γ^{*}$ is calculate through the light-cone approach. The higher-order QCD and relativistic corrections in the amplitude of $γ^{*}\to J/ψ$ and the large logarithms of $m_{_Z}^2/m_c^2$ that appear in the amplitude of $Z\to J/ψ+ γ^{*}$ are resummed in our calculation. Besides, the non-fragmentation amplitude is calculated based on the NRQCD factorization, and the next-to-leading order QCD and relativistic corrections are included. The obtained branching fraction for this $Z$ decay channel is $8.66 ^{+1.48} _{-0.69}\times 10^{-11}$.

This model contains the one-gluon exchange and confinement potentials. The latter is modeled as the sum of all two-body linear potentials. We employ the Gaussian expansion method to solve the full four-body Schrödinger equations, and search bound and resonant states using the complex-scaling method. We then identify $3$ bound and $62$ resonant states. The bound states are all $QQ\bar q\bar q$ states with the isospin and spin-parity quantum numbers $I(J^P)=0(1^+)$: two bound $bb\bar{q}\bar{q}$ states with the binding energies, 153 MeV and 4 MeV below the $BB^*$ threshold, and a shallow $cc\bar{q}\bar{q}$ state at $-15$ MeV from the $DD^*$ threshold. The deeper $bb\bar q \bar q$ bound state aligns with the lattice QCD predictions, while $cc\bar q\bar q$ bound state, still has a much larger binding energy than the recently observed $T^+_{cc}$ by LHCb collaboration. No bound states are identified for the $QQ\bar Q'\bar Q'$, $QQ\bar s\bar s$ and $QQ\bar q\bar q$ with $I=1$. Our analysis shows that the bound $QQ\bar Q'\bar Q'$ states are more probable with a larger mass ratio, $m_Q/m_{Q'}$. Experimental investigation for these states is desired, which will enrich our understanding of hadron spectroscopy and probe insights into the confinement mechanisms within tetraquarks.

The results derived from TXS 0506+56 exclude DM-nucleon elastic scattering cross sections from $4.6\times 10^{-33}\ \rm cm^2$ to $1\times10^{-26}\ \rm cm^2$ for DM masses between 10 keV and 1 GeV, and the results derived from BL Lacertae exclude DM-nucleon elastic scattering cross sections from $2.4\times 10^{-34}\ \rm cm^2$ to $1\times10^{-26}\ \rm cm^2$ for the same range of DM masses. The constraints correspond to the best sensitivities among solid-state detector experiments in the sub-MeV mass range.

There is a novel concept that detecting $χ$ from evaporating primordial black holes (PBHs). We search for $χ$ emitted from PBHs by investigating their interaction with target electrons. The examined PBH masses range from 1$\times$10$^{15}$ to 7$\times$10$^{16}$ g under the current limits of PBH abundance $f_{PBH}$. Using 205.4 kg$\cdot$day data obtained from the CDEX-10 experiment conducted in the China **** Underground Laboratory, we exclude the $χ$--electron ($χ$--$e$) elastic-scattering cross section $σ_{χe} \sim 5\times10^{-29}$ cm$^2$ for $χ$ with a mass $m_χ\lesssim$ 0.1 keV from our results. If ($m_χ$, $σ_{χe}$) can be determined in the future, DD experiments are expected to impose strong constraints on $f_{PBH}$ for large $M_{PBH}$s.

In the framework of instantaneous Bethe-Salpeter equation, according to the $J ^ {PC}$ of quarkonia, we find that their wave functions all contain multiple partial waves, rather than pure waves. In the radiative electromagnetic transitions $χ_{_{cJ}}$$\rightarrow$$γψ$ and $χ_{_{bJ}}$$\rightarrow$$γΥ$ ($J=0,1,2$), the main wave of quarkonium gives the non-relativistic contribution, while other waves provide the relativistic corrections. Our results indicate that the relativistic effect of charmonium, especially highly excited states, is significant. Such as the relativistic effects of $χ_{_{cJ}}(2P)\toγψ(1S)$ ($J=0,1,2$) are $\{49.7\%,~30.9\%,~37.5\%\}$, much larger than the corresponding $\{17.8\%,~7.08\%,~12.9\%\}$ of $χ_{_{bJ}}(2P)\rightarrowγΥ(1S)$. The decay of $χ_{_{cJ}}(2P)\toγψ$ can be used to distinguish between $χ_{_{c0}}(3860)$ and $χ_{_{c0}}(3915)$, which particle is the charmonium $χ_{_{c0}}(2P)$. Although our result of $χ_{_{c1}}(3872)$$\rightarrow$$γψ(2S)$ is consistent with data, but the one of $χ_{_{c1}}(3872)$$\rightarrow$$γψ(1S)$ is much larger than data, so whether $χ_{_{c1}}(3872)$ is the conventional $χ_{_{c1}}(2P)$ remains an open question. The undiscovered $Υ(1D)$ and $Υ(2D)$ have large production rates in decays of $χ_{_{b0}}(2P)\rightarrowγΥ(1D)$ and $χ_{_{bJ}}(3P)\rightarrowγΥ(2D)$ ($J=0,1$), respectively. To search for $χ_{_{bJ}}(3P)$ $(J=0,1,2)$, the most competitive channels are the decays $χ_{_{bJ}}(3P)\rightarrowγΥ(3S)$. And the best way to find $χ_{_{b2}}(1F)$ is to search for the decay of $χ_{_{b2}}(1F)\rightarrowγΥ(1D)$.

Precise measurements of electron and positron scattering, including parity violation, offer great promise in the search for physics beyond the Standard Model. In this context it is crucial to understand the corrections which might arise from charge symmetry violation, as well as the less well known strange and charm quark distributions. Our analysis, using state of the art parton distributions, suggests that these contributions lead to corrections in the extraction of the weak couplings $g^{eq}_{AV}$ and $g^{eq}_{VA}$ of the order $(1-2)\%$, while they are as large as $4\%$ for $g^{eq}_{AA}$, at a typical scale of $Q^2 = 10\ {\rm GeV}^2$. These results underline the importance of carrying out high precision measurements, which will not only provide information on physics beyond the Standard Model but also reduce the current uncertainties on our knowledge of the strange and charm quark distributions in the proton.

Theoretically, PBHs with masses $M_{\rm PBH}$ in the range of $4\times10^{14}\sim 10^{17}\,{\rm g}$ can emit sub-GeV electrons and positrons through Hawking radiation. Some of these particles could undergo diffusive reacceleration during propagation in the Milky Way, potentially reaching energies up to the GeV level observed by AMS-02. In this work, we utilize AMS-02 data to constrain the PBH abundance $f_{\rm PBH}$ by employing the reacceleration mechanism. Under the assumption of a monochromatic PBH mass distribution, our findings reveal that the limit is stricter than that derived from Voyager 1 data. This difference is particularly pronounced when $M_{\rm PBH}\lesssim10^{15}\,{\rm g}$, exceeding an order of magnitude. The constraints are even more robust in a more realistic scenario involving a log-normal mass distribution of PBHs. Moreover, we explore the impact of varying propagation parameters and solar modulation potential within reasonable ranges, and find that such variations have minimal effects on the final results.

The production of a Higgs boson in association with a top-antitop quark pair ($t\bar{t}H$) holds significant importance in directly probing the top-quark Yukawa coupling, which is related to various fundamental questions in high energy physics. This paper focuses on the calculation of two-loop amplitudes for $t\bar t H$ production at hadron colliders in the high-energy boosted limit. The calculation employs our recently developed mass-factorization formula. To validate the accuracy of our approximate methods, we compare our results for the one-loop amplitudes and the two-loop infrared poles with the exact calculations. We then provide predictions for the finite parts of the two-loop amplitudes. By combining the contributions from real emissions, our results can be utilized to compute the next-to-next-to-leading order differential cross sections for $t\bar t H$ production in the high-energy boosted limit.

The hadron mass can be obtained through the calculation of the trace of the energy-momentum tensor in the hadron which includes the trace anomaly and sigma terms. The anomaly due to conformal symmetry breaking is believed to be an important ingredient for hadron mass generation and confinement. In this work, we will present the calculation of the glue part of the trace anomaly form factors of the pion up to $Q^2\sim 4.3~\mathrm{GeV}^2$ and the nucleon up to $Q^2\sim 1~\mathrm{GeV}^2$. The calculations are performed on a domain wall fermion ensemble with overlap valence quarks at seven valence pion masses varying from $\sim 250$ to $\sim 540$ MeV, including the unitary point $\sim 340$ MeV. We calculate the radius of the glue trace anomaly for the pion and the nucleon from the $z$ expansion. By performing a two-dimensional Fourier transform on the glue trace anomaly form factors in the infinite momentum frame with no energy transfer, we also obtain their spatial distributions for several valence quark masses. The results are qualitatively extrapolated to the physical valence pion mass with systematic errors from the unphysical sea quark mass, discretization effects in the renormalization sum rule, and finite-volume effects to be addressed in the future. We find the pion's form factor changes sign, as does its spatial distribution, for light quark masses. This explains how the trace anomaly contribution to the pion mass approaches zero toward the chiral limit.

The full data set of the Daya Bay reactor neutrino experiment is used to probe the effect of the charged current non-standard interactions (CC-NSI) on neutrino oscillation experiments. Two different approaches are applied and constraints on the corresponding CC-NSI parameters are obtained with the neutrino flux taken from the Huber-Mueller model with a $5\%$ uncertainty. For the quantum mechanics-based approach (QM-NSI), the constraints on the CC-NSI parameters $ε_{eα}$ and $ε_{eα}^{s}$ are extracted with and without the assumption that the effects of the new physics are the same in the production and detection processes, respectively. The approach based on the weak effective field theory (WEFT-NSI) deals with four types of CC-NSI represented by the parameters $[\varepsilon_{X}]_{eα}$. For both approaches, the results for the CC-NSI parameters are shown for cases with various fixed values of the CC-NSI and the Dirac CP-violating phases, and when they are allowed to vary freely. We find that constraints on the QM-NSI parameters $ε_{eα}$ and $ε_{eα}^{s}$ from the Daya Bay experiment alone can reach the order $\mathcal{O}(0.01)$ for the former and $\mathcal{O}(0.1)$ for the latter, while for WEFT-NSI parameters $[\varepsilon_{X}]_{eα}$, we obtain $\mathcal{O}(0.1)$ for both cases.

In this note, we propose a factorization formula for gauge-theory scattering amplitudes up to two loops in the high-energy boosted limit. Our formula extends existing results in the literature by incorporating the contributions from massive loops. We derive the new ingredients in our formula using the method of regions with analytic regulators for the rapidity divergences. We verify our results with various form factors and the scattering amplitudes for top-quark pair production. Our results can be used to obtain approximate expressions for complicated two-loop massive amplitudes from simpler massless ones, and can be used to resum the mass logarithms to all orders in the coupling constant.

To compare with the leading-order terms, those corrections show good perturbative behavior as expected. It is found that contributions from the next-to-leading order QCD correction ${\cal O}(α_{s}v^0)$, the relativistic correction ${\cal O}(α^{0}_{s}v^2)$ and their joint correction ${\cal O}(α_{s} v^2)$ are sizable and comparable to each other, especially for the charmonium case. Thus we need to take all of them into consideration for a sound estimation. For a high luminosity electron-positron collider running around the $Z$-pole, due to $Z$-boson resonance effect, sizable events could be produced from those rare decay channels.

A conclusive finding is that the existence of deeply bound charmonium-like molecules must indicate the existence of $S$-wave deeply bound $C$-parity partners. The obtained branching ratio of $\mathcal{B} (B \rightarrow D_2^{\star}(2460)\ell^{+} ν_{\ell})$ agrees with the experimental data. We predict $\mathcal{B}\left(B_s^{0} \rightarrow D_{s2}^{\star-}(1P) \ell^{+} ν_{\ell}\right)$$=$$3.76\times 10^{-3}$ and $\mathcal{B}\left(B_c^+ \rightarrow χ_{c2}(1P)\ell^{+} ν_{\ell}\right)$$=$$1.82\times 10^{-3}$. The branching ratios of decays to $2P$ and $3P$ final states are found to be very small. The ratios $\mathcal{R}(\bar{D}_{2}^{\star 0})=0.045$, $\mathcal{R}({D}_{s2}^{\star})=0.048$ and $\mathcal{R}(χ_{c2})=0.059$ are also obtained. This study focuses on the contribution of relativistic corrections. The wave function of the pseudoscalar includes non-relativistic $S$-wave and relativistic $P$-wave. While for a tensor, it contains non-relativistic $P$-wave and relativistic $P$, $D$ and $F$ waves in its wave function. We find the individual contributions of relativistic partial waves are significant in the decay $B \to D_2^{\star }(2460)\ell^{+} ν_{\ell}$, but the overall contribution of the relativistic effect is $24.4\%$, which is small due to cancellation. Similarly, for the decay $B_s^{0} \rightarrow D_{s2}^{\star-}(1P) \ell^{+} ν_{\ell}$, the contribution of the relativistic effect is $28.8\%$. While for $B_c^+ \rightarrow χ_{c2}(1P)\ell^{+} ν_{\ell}$, the individual contributions of relativistic partial waves and the overall relativistic correction are both small, the later of which is $22.1\%$.

We investigated the doubly bottom molecule state $T^-_{bb}$ composed of two bottomed mesons. The potentials are obtained by using the one-boson-exchange model. With the heavy quark flavor symmetry, all the parameters in the model are determined from the doubly charmed tetraquark $T_{cc}^{+}$ by fitting its experimental data in our previous work. The mass of the bound state is predicted to be around $10560$ MeV ($\approx 44$ MeV below the $\bar{B}\bar{B}^*$ threshold), which is consistent with the lattice calculations. Furthermore, a resonance state around $10621$ MeV was found. These results, extracted by using the complex scaling method and $T$-matrix, are remarkably consistent with each other. The $\bar{B}\bar{B}^*$ molecule predicted here could be observed in the electromagnetic decay channel $\bar{B}\bar{B}γ$, while the strong decay into $\bar{B}\bar{B}π$ channel is forbidden. This research will help guide the search of these exotic states in the future experiments and eventually deepen the insights of them.

Energetic quarks and gluons lose energy as they traverse the hot and dense medium created in high-energy heavy-ion collisions at the BNL Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) and the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The nuclear modification factor ($R_{AA}$) of leading particles quantifies parton energy loss in such collisions, with the particle spectrum in $p+p$ collisions as a reference. Previous $R_{AA}$ measurements at RHIC energies have revealed an approximately constant trend at high transverse momenta ($p_{T}$), implying a scenario where parton energy loss, $Δp_{T}$, scales proportionally with $p_{T}$, a feature naively expected from energy loss dynamics in elastic collisions. In this study, we investigate the LHC $R_{AA}$ measurements which exhibit a pronounced $p_{T}$ dependence of $R_{AA}$ for various particle species, and our analysis attributes this behavior to $Δp_T$ being approximately proportional to $\sqrt{p_{T}}$. These distinct features are consistent with model calculations of dominant radiative energy loss dynamics at the LHC, in contrast to the dominance of collisional energy loss at RHIC. Additionally, the linear increase of fractional energy loss with medium density at different $p_{T}$ magnitudes affirms the previous empirical observation that the magnitude of the energy loss depends mostly on the initial entropy density, with no significant path-length dependence. Implications on the dynamical scenarios of parton energy loss and future experimental investigations will also be discussed.

Recently a dark matter-electron (DM-electron) paradigm has drawn much attention. Models beyond the standard halo model describing DM accelerated by high energy celestial bodies are under intense examination as well. In this Letter, a velocity components analysis (VCA) method dedicated to swift analysis of accelerated DM-electron interactions via semiconductor detectors is proposed and the first HPGe detector-based accelerated DM-electron analysis is realized. Utilizing the method, the first germanium based constraint on sub-GeV solar reflected DM-electron interaction is presented with the 205.4 kg$\cdot$day dataset from the CDEX-10 experiment. In the heavy mediator scenario, our result excels in the mass range of 5$-$15 keV/$c^2$, achieving a 3 orders of magnitude improvement comparing with previous semiconductor experiments. In the light mediator scenario, the strongest laboratory constraint for DM lighter than 0.1 MeV/$c^2$ is presented. The result proves the feasibility and demonstrates the vast potential of the VCA technique in future accelerated DM-electron analyses with semiconductor detectors.

The core-collapse supernova (CCSN) is considered one of the most energetic astrophysical events in the universe. The early and prompt detection of neutrinos before (pre-SN) and during the supernova (SN) burst presents a unique opportunity for multi-messenger observations of CCSN events. In this study, we describe the monitoring concept and present the sensitivity of the system to pre-SN and SN neutrinos at the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO), a 20 kton liquid scintillator detector currently under construction in South China. The real-time monitoring system is designed to ensure both prompt alert speed and comprehensive coverage of progenitor stars. It incorporates prompt monitors on the electronic board as well as online monitors at the data acquisition stage. Assuming a false alert rate of 1 per year, this monitoring system exhibits sensitivity to pre-SN neutrinos up to a distance of approximately 1.6 (0.9) kiloparsecs and SN neutrinos up to about 370 (360) kiloparsecs for a progenitor mass of 30 solar masses, considering both normal and inverted mass ordering scenarios. The pointing ability of the CCSN is evaluated by analyzing the accumulated event anisotropy of inverse beta decay interactions from pre-SN or SN neutrinos. This, along with the early alert, can play a crucial role in facilitating follow-up multi-messenger observations of the next galactic or nearby extragalactic CCSN.

In this paper, the new particle $X(3842)$ discovered by the LHCb Collaboration is identified to be the $ψ_{_3}(1^3D_{_3})$ state. We study its strong decays with the combination of the Bethe-Salpeter method and the $^3P_{_0}$ model. Its electromagnetic (EM) decay is also calculated by the Bethe-Salpeter method within Mandelstam formalism. The strong decay widths are {$Γ[X(3842)\rightarrow D^{0}\bar{D}^{0}]=1.28$ MeV}, $Γ[X(3823)\rightarrow D^{+}D^{-}]=1.08$ MeV, and the ratio ${\cal B}[X(3842)\rightarrow D^{+}D^{-}]/{\cal B}[X(3823)\rightarrow D^{0}\bar{D}^{0}]=0.84$. The EM decay width is $Γ[X(3842)\rightarrowχ_{_{c2}}γ]=0.29$ MeV. We also estimate the total width to be 2.87 MeV, which is in good agreement with the experimental data $2.79^{+0.86}_{-0.86}$ MeV. Since the used relativistic wave functions include different partial waves, we also study the contributions of different partial waves in electromagnetic decay.

We consider Drell-Yan production and QCD-induced diphoton production and compute their rapidity distributions up to next-to-leading power (NLP) in the threshold variable. We give results for rapidity distributions of the Drell-Yan process up to NNLO accuracy and show that a factorised structure occurs for the leading logarithms (LL) at NLP, generalising the result at leading power. For diphoton production, we generalise methods based on kinematical shifts to find the NLO cross section up to NLP for rapidity distributions. From the results for these two processes, we derive resummed cross sections at NLP LL accuracy that are double differential in the threshold variable and the rapidity variable, which generalise results for single differential resummed cross sections.

The extended color Hilbert space for $QQ\bar Q\bar Q$ systems includes a ''hidden color'' state, which mixes with two-meson states $Q\bar Q+Q\bar Q$, This mixing effect leads to an attractive potential sufficient to form a bound state. We apply a realistic Hamiltonian model with the new scheme to fully charmed tetraquark states, $cc\bar c\bar c$, and find a bound and two resonant states, which could potentially correspond to the $cc\bar c\bar c$ tetraquark candidates recently observed in experiments.

In nuclear collisions at RHIC energies, an excess of $Ω$ hyperons over $\barΩ$ is observed, indicating that $Ω$ carries a net baryon number despite $s$ and $\bar{s}$ quarks being produced in pairs. The baryon number in $Ω$ could have been transported from the incident nuclei and/or produced in baryon-pair production of $Ω$ with other types of anti-hyperons, such as $\barΞ$. To investigate these two scenarios, we propose to measure correlations between $Ω$ and $K$, as well as between $Ω$ and anti-hyperons. We will use two versions, the default and string-melting, of a multiphase transport (AMPT) model to illustrate the method to measure the correlation and to demonstrate the general shape of the correlation. We will present the $Ω$-hadron correlations from simulated $\mathrm{Au}$+$\mathrm{Au}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 7.7$ and $14.6 \ \mathrm{GeV}$, and discuss the dependence on collision energy and on the hadronization scheme in these two AMPT versions. These correlations can be used to explore the mechanism of baryon number transport and the effects of baryon number and strangeness conservation in nuclear collisions.

We have investigated the internal structure of the open- and hidden-charmed ($DD^*$/$\bar DD^*$) molecules in the unified framework. We first fit the experimental lineshape of the $T^+_{cc}$ state and extract the $DD^*$ interaction, from which the $T^+_{cc}$ is assumed to arise solely. Then we obtain the $D\bar{D}^*$ interaction by charge conjugation. Our results show that the $D\bar{D}^*$ interaction is attractive but insufficient to form $X(3872)$ as a bound state. Instead, its formation requires the crucial involvement of the coupled channel effect between the $D\bar D^*$ and $c\bar c$ components, although the $c\bar c$ accounts for approximately $1\%$ only. Besides $X(3872)$, we have obtained a higher-energy state around $3957.9$ MeV with a width of $16.7$ MeV, which may be a potential candidate for the $X(3940)$. In $J^{PC}=1^{+-}$ sector, we have found two states related to the iso-scalar $\tilde X(3872)$ and $h_c(2P)$, respectively. Our combined study provides valuable insights into the nature of these $DD^*$/$D\bar D^*$ exotic states.

We discuss JUNO sensitivity to the annihilation of MeV dark matter in the galactic halo via detecting inverse beta decay reactions of electron anti-neutrinos resulting from the annihilation. We study possible backgrounds to the signature, including the reactor neutrinos, diffuse supernova neutrino background, charged- and neutral-current interactions of atmospheric neutrinos, backgrounds from muon-induced fast neutrons and cosmogenic isotopes. A fiducial volume cut, as well as the pulse shape discrimination and the muon veto are applied to suppress the above backgrounds. It is shown that JUNO sensitivity to the thermally averaged dark matter annihilation rate in 10 years of exposure would be significantly better than the present-day best limit set by Super-Kamiokande and would be comparable to that expected by Hyper-Kamiokande.

This catalog represents the main result from the most sensitive large coverage gamma-ray survey of the sky above 1 TeV, covering declination from $-$20$^{\circ}$ to 80$^{\circ}$. In total, the catalog contains 90 sources with an extended size smaller than $2^\circ$ and a significance of detection at $> 5σ$. Based on our source association criteria, 32 new TeV sources are proposed in this study. Among the 90 sources, 43 sources are detected with ultra-high energy ($E > 100$ TeV) emission at $> 4σ$ significance level. We provide the position, extension, and spectral characteristics of all the sources in this catalog.

New thermal phase of QCD, featuring scale invariance in the infrared (IR), was proposed to exist both in the pure-glue (N$_f$=0) and the ``real-world" (N$_f$=2+1) settings. Among key aspects of the proposal is that the system in this {\em IR phase} separates into two independent components: the scale-invariant IR part and the non-invariant bulk. Such scenario requires non-analyticities in the theory and, in case of pure-glue QCD, they were found to arise via Anderson-like mobility edges in Dirac spectra ($λ_\fir \!=\! 0$, $\pm λ_\text{A} \!\neq\! 0$) manifested in dimension function $d_\fir(λ)$. Here we present first evidence that this mechanism is also at work in ``real-world QCD" (N$_f$=2+1 theory at physical quark masses and $a\!=\!0.105\,$fm), supporting the existence of the proposed IR regime. Dimensional jump between zero-modes and lowest near-zero modes very close to unity ($d_\fir\!=\!3$ vs $d_\fir \!\simeq \!2$) was found.

In this paper we present a first ab-initio calculation of the $π^0$, $η$ and $η^{\prime}$ transition form factors performed with physical light-quark masses. We provide a complete parametrization of the form factors that includes both single and double-virtual kinematics. Our results are compared with experimental measurements of the form factors in the space-like region and with the measured two-photon decay widths. In a second step, our parametrizations of the transition form factors are used to compute the dominant pseudoscalar-pole contributions to the hadronic light-by-light scattering in the muon $g-2$. Our final result reads $a_μ^{\rm hlbl, ps-pole} = (85.1 \pm 5.2) \times 10^{-11}$. Although the pion-pole is dominant, we confirm that, together, the $η$ and $η^{\prime}$ provide roughly half of its contribution.

Omega Centauri, the largest known globular cluster in the Milky Way, is believed to be the remains of a dwarf galaxy's core. Giving its potential abundance of dark matter (DM), it is an attractive target for investigating the nature of this elusive substance in our local environment. Our study demonstrates that by observing Omega Centauri with the SKA for 1000 hours, we can detect synchrotron radio or Inverse Compton (IC) emissions from the DM annihilation products. It enables us to constrain the cross-section of DM annihilation down to $\sim {\rm 10^{-30}~cm^3~s^{-1}}$ for DM mass from several $\rm{GeV}$ to $\rm{100~GeV}$, which is much stronger compared with other observations. Additionally, we explore the axion, another well-motivated DM candidate, and provide stimulated decay calculations. It turns out that the sensitivity can reach $g_{\rm{aγγ}} \sim 10^{-10} ~\rm{GeV^{-1}}$ for $2\times 10^{-7} ~\rm{eV} < m_a < 2\times 10^{-4} ~\rm{eV}$.

In this work, we make use of a supervised machine learning algorithm based on Logistic Regression (LR) to select TeV blazar candidates from the 4FGL-DR2 / 4LAC-DR2, 3FHL, 3HSP, and 2BIGB catalogs. LR constructs a hyperplane based on a selection of optimal parameters, named features, and hyper-parameters whose values control the learning process and determine the values of features that a learning algorithm ends up learning, to discriminate TeV blazars from non-TeV blazars. In addition, it gives the probability (or logistic) that a source may be considered as a TeV blazar candidate. Non-TeV blazars with logistics greater than 80% are considered high-confidence TeV candidates. Using this technique, we identify 40 high-confidence TeV candidates from the 4FGL-DR2 / 4LAC-DR2 blazars and we build the feature hyper-plane to distinguish TeV and non-TeV blazars. We also calculate the hyper-planes for the 3FHL, 3HSP, and 2BIGB. Finally, we construct the broadband spectral energy distributions (SED) for the 40 candidates, testing for their detectability with various instruments. We find that 7 of them are likely to be detected by existing or upcoming IACT observatories, while 1 could be observed with EAS particle detector arrays.

We perform a global QCD analysis of high energy scattering data within the JAM Monte Carlo framework, including a coupling to a dark photon that augments the standard model electroweak coupling via kinetic mixing with the hypercharge $B$ boson. Including the most recent measurement of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon as a constraint, we find a significant reduction in the combined $χ^2$, favoring the inclusion of a dark photon, with a statistical significance in excess of 8$σ$. With respect to the experimental data, the improvements in the theoretical predictions are spread across a wide range of $x$ and $Q^2$, with the largest improvement corresponding to neutral current data from HERA, while the best fit yields a value of $g-2$ which significantly reduces the disagreement with the latest experimental determination. The best fit yields a dark photon mass in the range 4.2--6.2 GeV and a mixing parameter of order 0.1.

We present the calculation of the next-to-leading order (NLO) electroweak (EW) corrections proportional to the Higgs trilinear self-coupling ($λ_{HHH}$) for Higgs boson plus one jet production at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We use the method of large top quark mass expansion to tackle the most challenging two-loop virtual amplitude, and apply the Padé approximation to extend the region of convergence of the expansion. We find that the NLO EW corrections is $0.66\%$ for the total cross section. For the invariant mass distribution and Higgs boson transverse momentum distribution, the NLO corrections are almost flat with their values similar in size. Our results can be used to set extra constraints on $λ_{HHH}$ at the LHC.

Abstract:
We present an analysis of the effect of a dark photon on the rare kaon decay $K_L \rightarrow π^0 ν{\bar ν}$. All relevant couplings of the dark photon to the Standard Model particles are derived explicitly in terms of the dark photon mass and the mixing parameter. We find that the dark photon yields no more than a few percent correction to the Standard Model branching ratio…

We find that the dark photon yields no more than a few percent correction to the Standard Model branching ratio ${\rm Br}(K_L \rightarrow π^0 ν{\bar ν})$ in the region of interest.
