We investigate the interactions of the $(\bar{c}q)(\bar{c}q)$/$(ccq)(\bar{c}q)$/$(ccq)(ccq)$ di-hadron systems based on a contact lagrangian possessing the SU(3) flavor and SU(2) spin symmetries. Under the assumptions of two scenarios for the $J^P$ quantum numbers of the $P_ψ^N(4440)$ and $P_ψ^N(4457)$ states, we obtain the parameters ($\tilde{g}_s$, $\tilde{g}_a$) introduced from this contact lagrangian. Then we include the SU(3) breaking effect by introducing a factor $g_x$, this quantity can be further constrained by the experimental mass of the $P_{ψs}^Λ(4338)$ state. We can reproduce the mass of the $T^f_{cc}(3875)$ state with the parameters extracted from the observed $P_ψ^N$ states, this consistency indicates a unified description of the di-hadron molecular states composed of two heavy-light hadrons. With the same parameters, we discuss the possible mass spectra of the $\bar{T}_{cc}^f$/$P_{ψc}^Λ$/$H_{Ω_{ccc}c}^Λ$ systems. Then we proceed to discuss the existences of the $\bar{T}_{cc\bar{s}}^θ$/$P_{ψcs}^N$/$H_{Ω_{ccc}cs}^N$ states by investigating the SU(3) breaking effects. Our results show that the states in the $\bar{T}_{cc\bar{s}}^θ$/$P_{ψcs}^N$ systems can hardly form bound states, while the states in the $H_{Ω_{ccc}cs}^N$ system can form bound states due to their larger reduced masses.

In this work we try to search for signals generated by ultra-heavy dark matter at the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO) data. We look for possible gamma-ray by dark matter annihilation or decay from 16 dwarf spheroidal galaxies in the field of view of LHAASO. Dwarf spheroidal galaxies are among the most promising targets for indirect detection of dark matter which have low fluxes of astrophysical $γ$-ray background while large amount of dark matter. By analyzing more than 700 days observational data at LHAASO, no significant dark matter signal from 1 TeV to 1 EeV is detected. Accordingly we derive the most stringent constraints on the ultra-heavy dark matter annihilation cross-section up to EeV. The constraints on the lifetime of dark matter in decay mode are also derived.

We adopt the effective Lagrangian approach to study the strong decays of the $1^-(0^{++})$ $D^\ast\bar{D}^\ast$ molecular state [denoted as $T_{\psi0}^a(4010)$ according to the LHCb naming convention] through triangle diagrams. The decay channels include the open-charm $D\bar{D}$, and the hidden-charm $η_cπ$, $J/ψρ$, and $χ_{c1}π$. The coupling between the $T_{\psi0}^a(4010)$ and its constituents $D^\ast\bar{D}^\ast$ is obtained by solving for the residue of the scattering T-matrix at the pole. Our calculation yields a total width of $(12.0$$-$$35.4)$ MeV for the $T_{\psi0}^a(4010)$ state, with its main decay channels being $η_cπ$ and $χ_{c1}π$. The $X(4100)$ and $X(4050)$ have similar masses and widths, with both masses being close to the $D^\ast\bar{D}^\ast$ threshold. Additionally, their decay final states are consistent with those of the $T_{\psi0}^a(4010)$. Therefore, it is likely that they represent the same state and both potentially correspond to the $T_{\psi0}^a(4010)$. We suggest that future experiments focus on searching for the $T_{\psi0}^a(4010)$ signal in the final states $η_cπ^-$, $χ_{c1}π^-$ and $D^0D^-$ of the $B^0\toη_cπ^-K^+$, $χ_{c1}π^- K^+$ and $D^0D^-K^+$ processes, respectively, as well as further investigating its resonance parameters with Flatté-like formula.

We consider all possible combinations of particle-particle and particle-antiparticle pairs, including the S-wave spin multiplets in each combination. We establish the underlying connections among the molecular tetraquarks, pentaquarks, and hexaquarks with the effective quark-level interactions. We find that the existence of molecular states in $DD^\ast$, $D\bar{D}^\ast$, and $Σ_c\bar{D}^{(\ast)}$ systems leads to the emergence of a large number of deuteron-like hexaquarks in the heavy flavor sectors. Currently, there have been several experimental candidates for molecular tetraquarks and pentaquarks. The experimental search for near-threshold hexaquarks will further advance the establishment of the underlying dynamical picture of hadronic molecules and deepen our understanding of the role of spin-flavor symmetry in near-threshold residual strong interactions.

A hypothetical photon mass, $m_γ$, can produce a frequency-dependent vacuum dispersion of light, which leads to an additional time delay between photons with different frequencies when they propagate through a fixed distance. The dispersion measure--redshift measurements of fast radio bursts (FRBs) have been widely used to constrain the rest mass of the photon. However, all current studies analyzed the effect of the frequency-dependent dispersion for massive photons in the standard $Λ$CDM cosmological context. In order to alleviate the circularity problem induced by the presumption of a specific cosmological model based on the fundamental postulate of the masslessness of photons, here we employ a new model-independent smoothing technique, Artificial Neural Network (ANN), to reconstruct the Hubble parameter $H(z)$ function from 34 cosmic-chronometer measurements. By combining observations of 32 well-localized FRBs and the $H(z)$ function reconstructed by ANN, we obtain an upper limit of $m_γ \le 3.5 \times 10^{-51}\;\rm{kg}$, or equivalently $m_γ \le 2.0 \times 10^{-15}\;\rm{eV/c^2}$ ($m_γ \le 6.5 \times 10^{-51}\;\rm{kg}$, or equivalently $m_γ \le 3.6 \times 10^{-15}\;\rm{eV/c^2}$) at the $1σ$ ($2σ$) confidence level. This is the first cosmology-independent photon mass limit derived from extragalactic sources.

We employ Hubble data and Gaussian Processes in order to reconstruct the dynamical connection function in $f(Q)$ cosmology beyond the coincident gauge. In particular, there exist three branches of connections that satisfy the torsionless and curvatureless conditions, parameterized by a new dynamical function $γ$. We express the redshift dependence of $γ$ in terms of the $H(z)$ function and the $f(Q)$ form and parameters, and then we reconstruct it using 55 $H(z)$ observation data. Firstly, we investigate the case where ordinary conservation law holds, and we reconstruct the $f(Q)$ function, which is very well described by a quadratic correction on top of Symmetric Teleparallel Equivalent of General Relativity. Proceeding to the general case, we consider two of the most studied $f(Q)$ models of the literature, namely the square-root and the exponential one. In both cases we reconstruct $γ(z)$, and we show that according to AIC and BIC information criteria its inclusion is favoured compared to both $Λ$CDM paradigm, as well as to the same $f(Q)$ models under the coincident gauge. This feature acts as an indication that $f(Q)$ cosmology should be studied beyond the coincident gauge.

The light quark components of the $P_ψ^N$ ($P_{ψs}^Λ$) and $H_{Ω_{ccc}}^N$ ($H_{Ω_{ccc}s}^Λ$) systems have identical flavors, the interactions generated from the exchanges of light mesons in the $P_ψ^N$ ($P^Λ_{ψs}$) systems should be very similar to that of the $H_{Ω_{ccc}}^N$ ($H^Λ_{Ω_{ccc}s}$) systems. We perform the single-channel and multi-channel calculations on the $P_ψ^N/P^Λ_{ψs}/H_{Ω_{ccc}}^N/H^Λ_{Ω_{ccc}s}$ systems and introduce the SU(3) breaking effect to identify the different mass spectra among the $P_ψ^N$ ($H_{Ω_{ccc}}^N$) and $P^Λ_{ψs}$ ($H^Λ_{Ω_{ccc}s}$) systems. We suggest two kinds of evidences for the existence of the flavor-spin symmetry among the heavy flavor $P_ψ^N/H_{Ω_{ccc}}^N/P^Λ_{ψs}/H^Λ_{Ω_{ccc}s}$ molecule community, i.e., the mass arrangements of the $P_ψ^N/H_{Ω_{ccc}}^N/P^Λ_{ψs}/H^Λ_{Ω_{ccc}s}$ mass spectra and the binding energies of the heavy flavor meson-baryon (di-baryon) systems attributed to the same contact potentials.

We report a first study of the semileptonic decay $D^0\rightarrow K^-π^0μ^{+}ν_μ$ by analyzing an $e^+e^-$ annihilation data sample of $7.9~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ collected at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector. The absolute branching fraction of $D^0\to K^-π^0μ^{+}ν_μ$ is measured for the first time to be $(0.729 \pm 0.014_{\rm stat} \pm 0.011_{\rm syst})\%$. Based on an amplitude analysis, the $S\text{-}{\rm wave}$ contribution is determined to be $(5.76 \pm 0.35_{\rm stat} \pm 0.29_{\rm syst})\%$ of the total decay rate in addition to the dominated $K^{*}(892)^-$ component. The branching fraction of $D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-μ^+ν_μ$ is given to be $(2.062 \pm 0.039_{\rm stat} \pm 0.032_{\rm syst})\%$, which improves the precision of the world average by a factor of 5. Combining with the world average of ${\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-e^+ν_e)$, the ratio of the branching fractions obtained is $\frac{{\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-μ^+ν_μ)}{{\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-e^+ν_e)} = 0.96\pm0.08$, in agreement with lepton flavor universality. Furthermore, assuming single-pole dominance parameterization, the most precise hadronic form factor ratios for $D^0\to K^{*}(892)^{-} μ^+ν_μ$ are extracted to be $r_{V}=V(0)/A_1(0)=1.37 \pm 0.09_{\rm stat} \pm 0.03_{\rm syst}$ and $r_{2}=A_2(0)/A_1(0)=0.76 \pm 0.06_{\rm stat} \pm 0.02_{\rm syst}$.

Axions or axion-like particles (ALPs) are one of the most promising candidates of dark matter (DM). A prevalent method to detect axion-like DM is to seek the periodic oscillation feature in the polarization angles of linearly polarized light emitted from astrophysical sources. In this work, we use the time-resolved polarization measurements of the hyperactive repeating fast radio burst, FRB 20220912A, detected by the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) to search for extragalactic axion-like DM for the first time. Given a DM density profile of FRB 20220912A's host, we obtain upper limits on the ALP-photon coupling constant of $g_{a γ}<(2.9 \times 10^{-11}-1.1\times 10^{-9})\,\mathrm{GeV}^{-1}$ for the ALP masses $m_a \sim (1.4\times10^{-21}-5.2\times10^{-20})$ eV. Persistent polarimetric observations with FAST would further improve the constraints. We prove that FRBs offer an alternative way to detect axion-like DM on extragalactic distance scales, complementary to other galactic DM probes.

We consider the contact terms, one-pseudoscalar-meson and two-pseudoscalar-meson exchange contributions, facilitating a comprehensive analysis of the short-, mid-, and long-range interactions in these systems. The low energy constants (LECs) are correlated with those of the $\bar{N}N$ interaction using a quark-level Lagrangian approach. We also incorporate the decuplet baryon contributions in the loop diagrams. Our research provides new insights into several near-threshold charmed baryons [e.g., $Λ_{c}(2940)$, $Ξ_{c}(3055)$, and $Ω_{c}(3188)$, etc.] around $3$ GeV from the hadronic molecular perspective. We also identify several molecular states, designated as $Ξ_{c}$, within the mass range of $3100-3500$ MeV. Further measurements of their resonance parameters and decay patterns in experiments will help to discriminate the conventional baryon and hadronic molecule explanations for these near-threshold states.

The hadron mass can be obtained through the calculation of the trace of the energy-momentum tensor in the hadron which includes the trace anomaly and sigma terms. The anomaly due to conformal symmetry breaking is believed to be an important ingredient for hadron mass generation and confinement. In this work, we will present the calculation of the glue part of the trace anomaly form factors of the pion up to $Q^2\sim 4.3~\mathrm{GeV}^2$ and the nucleon up to $Q^2\sim 1~\mathrm{GeV}^2$. The calculations are performed on a domain wall fermion ensemble with overlap valence quarks at seven valence pion masses varying from $\sim 250$ to $\sim 540$ MeV, including the unitary point $\sim 340$ MeV. We calculate the radius of the glue trace anomaly for the pion and the nucleon from the $z$ expansion. By performing a two-dimensional Fourier transform on the glue trace anomaly form factors in the infinite momentum frame with no energy transfer, we also obtain their spatial distributions for several valence quark masses. The results are qualitatively extrapolated to the physical valence pion mass with systematic errors from the unphysical sea quark mass, discretization effects in the renormalization sum rule, and finite-volume effects to be addressed in the future. We find the pion's form factor changes sign, as does its spatial distribution, for light quark masses. This explains how the trace anomaly contribution to the pion mass approaches zero toward the chiral limit.

We use galaxy-galaxy lensing data to test General Relativity and $f(T)$ gravity at galaxies scales. We consider an exact spherically symmetric solution of $f(T)$ theory which is obtained from an approximate quadratic correction, and thus it is expected to hold for every realistic deviation from General Relativity. Quantifying the deviation by a single parameter $Q$, and following the post-Newtonian approximation, we obtain the corresponding deviation in the gravitational potential, shear component, and effective excess surface density profile. We used five stellar mass samples and divided them into blue and red to test the model dependence on galaxy color, and we modeled the excess surface density (ESD) profiles using the Navarro-Frenk-White (NFW) profiles. Based on the group catalog from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 7 (SDSS DR7) we finally extract $Q=-2.138^{+0.952}_{-0.516}\times 10^{-5}\,$Mpc$^{-2}$ at $1σ$ confidence. This result indicates that $f(T)$ corrections on top of General Relativity are favored. Finally, we apply information criteria, such as the AIC and BIC ones, and although the dependence of $f(T)$ gravity on the off-center effect implies that its optimality needs to be carefully studied, our analysis shows that $f(T)$ gravity is more efficient in fitting the data comparing to General Relativity and $Λ$CDM paradigm, and thus it offers a challenge to the latter.

We establish the underlying relations among the near-threshold interactions of the molecular tetraquark and pentaquark systems. We find the existence of the molecule candidates in the $Σ_c\bar{D}^{(\ast)}$, $DD^\ast$, and $D\bar{D}^\ast$ systems indicates a substantial presence of the hadronic molecules in the {\it heavy} baryon plus {\it heavy} meson systems ({\it heavy} refers to the hadrons with the $c$ and/or $s$ quarks). An important mechanism for production of the Higgs boson at the prospective Large Hadron-electron Collider (LHeC) is via neutral current (NC) weak boson fusion (WBF) processes. Aside from its role in measurements of Higgs couplings within the standard model, this production mode is particularly useful in searchings of Higgs decays into invisble particles in various models for the Higg portal dark matter. In this work we compute the electroweak corrections for the NC WBF at the LHeC up to the 1-loop level. For a center-of-mass energy of 1.98 TeV, the magnitudes of the relative corrections for the total cross section at next-to-leading (NLO) order are respectively 8% and 17%, in the two renormalization schemes we use. The NLO terms also distort various distributions (notably, those for Higgs and electron observables) computed at the leading order. Along with our previous treatment of the charge current processes, this paper completes the calulation of the NLO EW effects for the dominant Higgs production modes at the LHeC.

Understanding the transitions of nucleons into various resonance structures through electromagnetic interactions plays a pivotal role in advancing our comprehension of the strong interactions within the domain of quark confinement. Furthermore, gaining precise insights into the elastic and resonance structures of nucleons is indispensable for deciphering the physics from neutrino-nucleus scattering cross sections experimental data, which remain theoretically challenging, even in the context of neutrino-nucleon interactions whose profound understanding is imperative for the neutrino oscillation experiments. One promising avenue involves the direct evaluation of the lepton-nucleon scattering cross sections across quasi-elastic, resonance, shallow-inelastic, and deep inelastic regions, which can be achieved through the hadronic tensor formalism in lattice QCD. In this work, we present the determination of the nucleon's Sachs electric form factor using the hadronic tensor formalism and verify that it is consistent with that from the conventional three-point function calculation. We additionally obtain the transition form factor from the nucleon to its first radial excited state within a finite volume. Consequently, we identify the latter with the nucleon-to-Roper transition form factor $G_E^*(Q^2)$, determine the corresponding longitudinal helicity amplitude $S_{1/2}(Q^2)$ and compare our findings with experimental measurements, for the first time using the hadronic tensor formalism. The limitations and systematic improvements of the approach are also discussed.

We present the discovery and timing results of four pulsars discovered in a pilot survey at intermediate Galactic latitudes with the Five-hundred Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST). Among these pulsars, two belong to the category of millisecond pulsars (MSPs) with spin periods of less than 20 ms. The other two fall under the classification of "mildly recycled" pulsars, with massive white dwarfs as companions. Remarkably, this small survey, covering an area of 4.7 $deg^2$ , led to the discovery of four recycled pulsars. Such success underscores the immense potential of future surveys at intermediate Galactic latitudes. In order to assess the potential yield of MSPs, we conducted population simulations and found that both FAST and Parkes new phased array feed surveys, focusing on intermediate Galactic latitudes, have the capacity to uncover several hundred new MSPs.

We relate the interactions of the $\bar{D}^{(\ast)} K^\ast$ and $D^{(\ast)} K^\ast$ systems to those of $D^{(\ast)}D^{(\ast)}$ and $D^{(\ast)}\bar{D}^{(\ast)}$ respectively, considering the residual strong interactions at the near-threshold energy is too weak to excite the strange quarks inside the hadrons. We propose an effective model to describe the low-energy S-wave interactions that are undertaken by the light $u$, $d$ quarks between two separated heavy hadrons. We find that the existence of molecules in the heavy-(anti)heavy sectors will naturally lead to the emergence of molecular states in $\bar{D}^{(\ast)} K^\ast$ and $D^{(\ast)} K^\ast$ systems. The recently observed $T_{cs0}(2900)$ and $T_{c\bar{s}0}^a(2900)$ can be well identified as the $0(0^+)$ and $1(0^+)$ partners of $T_{cc}(3875)$ and $Z_c(3900)$ in the charmed strange sector, respectively. We also predict their members under the {\it heavy} ($c$ and $s$) quark symmetry and SU(2) flavor symmetry. Most of them are very good molecule candidates, for example, (i) the $0(1^+)$ states in $D^\ast D^\ast$, $\bar{D}K^\ast$, $\bar{D}^\ast K^\ast$; (ii) the $0^{(+)}(2^{+(+)})$ states in $D^\ast \bar{D}^\ast$, $\bar{D}^\ast K^\ast$, $D^\ast K^\ast$; (iii) the $1^-(0^{++})$ state in $D^\ast\bar{D}^\ast$ and $1(1^+)$ state in $D^\ast K^\ast$. The $0^+(0^{++})$ state in $D\bar{D}$ and the $0(1^+)$ state in $DK^\ast$ might also exist as virtual states, and the $0(1^+)$ $DK^\ast$ can serve as a key to infer the existence of $0^+(0^{++})$ $D\bar{D}$. The $D_sπ$ invariant mass spectrum of $T_{c\bar{s}0}^a(2900)$ is also studied within the coupled-channel approach, and the molecular interpretation of $T_{c\bar{s}0}^a(2900)$ is consistent with the experimental data. Searching for the predicted states in experiments is crucial to discriminate the different pictures for interpreting these near-threshold exotica.

We present the first lattice QCD calculation of the universal axial $γW$-box contribution $\square_{γW}^{VA}$ to both superallowed nuclear and neutron beta decays. This contribution emerges as a significant component within the theoretical uncertainties surrounding the extraction of $|V_{ud}|$ from superallowed decays. Our calculation is conducted using two domain wall fermion ensembles at the physical pion mass. To construct the nucleon 4-point correlation functions, we employ the random sparsening field technique. Furthermore, we incorporate long-distance contributions to the hadronic function using the infinite-volume reconstruction method. Upon performing the continuum extrapolation, we arrive at $\square_{γW}^{VA}=3.65(8)_{\mathrm{lat}}(1)_{\mathrm{PT}}\times10^{-3}$. Consequently, this yields a slightly higher value of $|V_{ud}|=0.97386(11)_{\mathrm{exp.}}(9)_{\mathrm{RC}}(27)_{\mathrm{NS}}$, reducing the previous $2.1σ$ tension with the CKM unitarity to $1.8σ$. Additionally, we calculate the vector $γW$-box contribution to the axial charge $g_A$, denoted as $\square_{γW}^{VV}$, and explore its potential implications.

The branching-fraction ratio ${\mathcal B}(J/ψ\to e^+ e^- η(1405))$/${\mathcal B}(J/ψ\to γη(1405))$ is determined to be $(1.35\pm0.19(\rm{stat.})\pm0.06(\rm{syst.}))\times10^{-2}$. Furthermore, an $e^+e^-$ invariant-mass dependent transition form factor of $J/ψ\to e^+ e^-η(1405)$ is presented for the first time. The obtained result provides input for different theoretical models, and is valuable for the improved understanding the intrinsic structure of the $η(1405)$ meson.

We examine the backreaction effect of the enhanced small-scale scalar perturbations from the sound speed resonance (SSR) mechanism for primordial black hole formation in Dirac-Born-Infeld (DBI) inflation on background as well as curvature perturbation, which can generate a considerable amount of primordial black holes (PBH) in the radiation-dominated epoch. Within the perturbative regime, the backreaction effect of perturbations on the background dynamics can be described by an effective action after integrating out the perturbation sector. Starting with the effective field theory of a specific DBI inflation model that incorporates SSR, we obtain the one-loop effective action by integrating out the scalar perturbations at the quadratic level. Using the effective Friedmann equations derived from this one-loop effective action, we solve the Hubble parameter with backreaction and the effective perturbation dynamics on this background as well. Our numerical findings reveal that, for a viable parameter space, the backreaction effect results in a relative correction to the Hubble parameter of approximately $10^{-7}$, whereas the relative correction to the slow-roll parameter can vary between $-0.3$ and $0.1$, before gradually converging to $10^{-7}$. Furthermore, our results show that the backreaction effect on SSR sound speed causes a slight reduction in the resonant peak of the curvature power spectrum, and the subsequent PBH formation predicted by the SSR mechanism remains almost unchanged.

In this work, we assessed the credibility of interpreting the Hellings-Downs correlated free-spectrum process of EPTA, PPTA, and NANOGrav as either the result of supermassive black hole binary mergers or various stochastic SGWB sources that originated in the early Universe, including first-order phase transitions, cosmic strings, domain walls, and large-amplitude curvature perturbations. Our observations show that the current new datasets do not display a strong preference for any specific SGWB source based on Bayesian analysis.

In total, the catalog contains 90 sources with an extended size smaller than $2^\circ$ and a significance of detection at $> 5σ$. Based on our source association criteria, 32 new TeV sources are proposed in this study. Among the 90 sources, 43 sources are detected with ultra-high energy ($E > 100$ TeV) emission at $> 4σ$ significance level. We mechanically tuned the resonant frequency of a cavity embedded in the liquid helium with a temperature of $2$ K, scanning the dark photon mass over a frequency range of $1.37$ MHz centered at $1.3$ GHz. By exploiting the superconducting radio frequency cavity's considerably high quality factors of approximately $10^{10}$, our results demonstrate the most stringent constraints to date on a substantial portion of the exclusion parameter space, particularly concerning the kinetic mixing coefficient between dark photons and electromagnetic photons $ε$, yielding a value of $ε< 2.2 \times 10^{-16}$.

In this paper, we investigate the detectability of secondary spin in the extreme mass ratio inspirals system within a modified gravity model coupled with a scalar field. The central black hole, which reduces to a Kerr one, is circularly spiralled by a scalar-charged spinning secondary body on the equatorial plane. The analysis reveals that the presence of the scalar field amplifies the secondary spin effect, allowing for a lower limit of the detectability and an improved resolution of the secondary spin when the scalar charge is sufficiently large. Our findings suggest that the secondary spin detection is more feasible when the primary mass is not large, and TianQin is the optimal choice for detection.

Fast radio bursts (FRBs) have been suggested as an excellent celestial laboratory for testing the zero-mass hypothesis of the photon. In this work, we use the dispersion measure (DM)--redshift measurements of 23 localized FRBs to revisit the photon rest mass $m_γ$. As an improvement over previous studies, here we take into account the more realistic probability distributions of DMs contributed by the FRB host galaxy and intergalactic medium (IGM) from the IllustrisTNG simulation. To better account for the systematic uncertainty induced by the choices of priors of cosmological parameters, we also combine the FRB data with the cosmic microwave background data, the baryon acoustic oscillation data, and type Ia supernova data to constrain the cosmological parameters and $m_γ$ simultaneously. We derive a new upper limit of $m_γ\le3.8\times 10^{-51}\;\rm{kg}$, or equivalently $m_γ\le2.1 \times 10^{-15} \, \rm{eV/c^2}$ ($m_γ \le 7.2 \times 10^{-51} \, \rm{kg}$, or equivalently $m_γ\le4.0 \times 10^{-15} \, \rm{eV/c^2}$) at $1σ$ ($2σ$) confidence level. Meanwhile, our analysis can also lead to a reasonable estimation for the IGM baryon fraction $f_{\rm IGM}=0.873^{+0.061}_{-0.050}$. With the number increment of localized FRBs, the constraints on both $m_γ$ and $f_{\rm IGM}$ will be further improved. A caveat of constraining $m_γ$ within the context of the standard $Λ$CDM cosmological model is also discussed.

In gravity and cosmology, Su's research primarily embraces black hole thermodynamics, quasinormal modes, cosmological microwave background radiation, modified theories of gravity, and AdS/CFT correspondence and its applications. Besides, many aspects of Su's distinguished impact on the Chinese academic physics community are discussed. We also summarize the biographical and academic career of Su. This article is an elaborated version of the memorial article that will be published in \href{https://www.mdpi.com/journal/symmetry}{\it symmetry}.

We calculate the nucleon electric dipole moment (EDM) from the $θ$ term with overlap fermions on three domain wall lattices with different sea pion masses at lattice spacing 0.11 fm. Due to the chiral symmetry conserved by the overlap fermions, we have well defined topological charge and chiral limit for the EDM. Thus, the chiral extrapolation can be carried out reliably at nonzero lattice spacings. We use three to four different partially quenched valence pion masses for each sea pion mass and find that the EDM dependence on the valence and sea pion masses behaves oppositely, which can be described by partially quenched chiral perturbation theory. With the help of the cluster decomposition error reduction (CDER) technique, we determine the neutron and proton EDM at the physical pion mass to be $d_{n}=-0.00148\left(14\right)\left(31\right)\barθ$ e$\cdot$fm and $d_{p}=0.0038\left(11\right)\left(8\right)\barθ$ e$\cdot$fm. This work is a clear demonstration of the advantages of using chiral fermions in the nucleon EDM calculation and paves the road to future precise studies of the strong $CP$ violation effects.

In this paper, we study the quantum geometric effects near the locations where classical black hole horizons used to appear in Einstein's classical theory, within the framework of an improved dynamic approach, in which the internal region of a black hole is modeled by the Kantowski-Sachs (KS) spacetime and the two polymerization parameters are functions of the phase space variables. Our detailed analysis shows that the effects are so strong that black and white hole horizons of the effective quantum theory do not exist at all and instead are replaced by transition surfaces, across which the metric coefficients and their inverses are smooth and remain finite, as are the corresponding curvatures, including the Kretschmann scalar. These surfaces always separate trapped regions from anti-trapped regions. The number of such surfaces is infinite, so the corresponding KS spacetimes become geodesically complete, and no black and white hole-like structures exist in this scheme.

We revisit the $DD^\ast$ interactions in chiral effective field theory up to the third order for the first time. We deal with the pion-exchanged interactions via local momentum-space regularization, in which we focus on their long-range behaviors through demanding their contributions vanish at the origin in the coordinate space. The short-range contact interactions and subleading pion-charmed meson couplings are estimated with the phenomenological resonance saturation model. The subleading pion-charmed meson couplings are much weaker than those in the pion-nucleon system, thus the $DD^\ast$ binding mechanism is very different with that of the $NN$ system. We also obtain the analytic structure of the two-pion exchange interactions in the coordinate space, and we find that its asymptotic behavior at long distance is similar to but slightly different with the $NN$ interactions. We get the same asymptotic behavior of the two-pion exchange interaction with that from HAL QCD method but appearing in the longer distance rather than $1 <r<2\text{ fm}$. The binding solution only exists in the isoscalar channel. Our calculation supports the molecular interpretation of $T_{cc}^+$.

Combining this result with the world average of ${\mathcal B}(Σ^- \to Λe^- \barν_{e})$ and the lifetimes of $Σ^{\pm}$, the ratio, $\frac{Γ(Σ^- \to Λe^- \barν_{e})}{Γ(Σ^+ \to Λe^+ ν_{e})}$, is determined to be $1.06 \pm 0.28$, which is within 1.8 standard deviations of the value expected in the absence of second-class currents that are forbidden in the Standard Model.

We provide a possible interpretation to both $Λ_c(2910)^+$ and $Λ_c(2940)^+$ within the same framework. In the study, we consider not only the effects between the conventional triquark core and the $D^*N$ channel but also the $D^*N$-$D^*N$ interactions. The mass of $Λ_c$ state with $J^P=1/2^-$ is larger than that with $J^P=3/2^-$ in this unquenched picture, which is very different from the prediction of the conventional quenched quark model. Based on the mass spectrum, the spin-parity of $Λ_c(2940)^+$ is more likely to be $1/2^-$ while $Λ_c(2910)^+$ prefers $3/2^-$. We look forward to the future experiments can test our results with more precise experimental data.

We study a possible gauge symmetry breaking pattern in an ${\rm SU}(7)$ grand unified theory, which describes the mass origins of all electrically charged SM fermions of the second and the third generations. Two intermediate gauge symmetries of ${\cal G}_{341}\equiv {\rm SU}(3)_c \otimes {\rm SU}(4)_W \otimes {\rm U}(1)_{X_0}$ and ${\cal G}_{331}\equiv {\rm SU}(3)_c \otimes {\rm SU}(3)_W \otimes {\rm U}(1)_{X_1}$ arise above the electroweak scale. SM fermion mass hierarchies between two generations can be obtained through a generalized seesaw mechanism. The mechanism can be achieved with suppressed symmetry breaking VEVs from multiple Higgs fields that are necessary to avoid tadpole terms in the Higgs potential. Some general features of the ${\rm SU}(7)$ fermion spectrum will be described, which include the existence of vectorlike fermions, the tree-level flavor changing weak currents between the SM fermions and heavy partner fermions, and the flavor non-universality between different SM generations from the extended weak sector.

Making use of the world-average branching fraction $\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\toΛπ^+π^0)$, their branching fractions are determined to be \begin{eqnarray*} \begin{aligned} \mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\toΛρ(770)^+)=&(4.06\pm0.30\pm0.35\pm0.23)\times10^{-2},\\ \mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\toΣ(1385)^+π^0)=&(5.86\pm0.49\pm0.52\pm0.35)\times10^{-3},\\ \mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\toΣ(1385)^0π^+)=&(6.47\pm0.59\pm0.66\pm0.38)\times10^{-3},\\ \end{aligned} \end{eqnarray*} where the first uncertainties are statistical, the second are systematic, and the third are from the uncertainties of the branching fractions $\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\toΛπ^+π^0)$ and $\mathcal{B}(Σ(1385)\toΛπ)$. In addition, %according to amplitudes determined from the partial wave analysis, the decay asymmetry parameters are measured to be $α_{Λρ(770)^+}=-0.763\pm0.053\pm0.045$, $α_{Σ(1385)^{+}π^0}=-0.917\pm0.069\pm0.056$, and $α_{Σ(1385)^{0}π^+}=-0.789\pm0.098\pm0.056$.

Very recently, the LHCb Collaboration reported the first observation of the hidden charm pentaquark with strangeness, $P_{ψs}^Λ(4338)^0$. Considering this state is very close to the $Ξ_c^0\bar{D}^0$ and $Ξ_c^+D^-$ thresholds, we explore the possible bias of the Breit-Wigner parameterization, with emphasis on the effect of its coupling to the double thresholds $Ξ_c^0\bar{D}^0$ and $Ξ_c^+D^-$. We first use a qualitative picture based on the ``uniformization" of the Riemann surface of the two-channel system to understand the positions of the enhancement. Then we use the Lippmann-Schwinger equation (LSE) formalism (equivalent to the $K$-matrix parameterization) with two models, the zero-range model and Flatté model to investigate the $J/ψΛ$ lineshapes. Our results show that the nominal peak of the $P_{ψs}^Λ(4338)^0$ could arise either from the pole well above the $Ξ_c^+ D^-$ threshold on the $(-,+)$ sheet or from the pole well below the $Ξ_c^0 \bar{D}^0$ threshold on the $(-,-)$ sheet in the two-channel system. Using the Breit-Wigner distribution to depict the above two lineshapes could be misleading. We also find a novel type of lineshapes with the enhancement constrained by the threshold difference. We urge the LHCb collaboration to perform the refined experimental analysis considering the unitarity and analyticity, e.g. using the K-matrix parameterization. As a by-product, we obtain that the ratio of the isospin violating decay ${Γ_{P_{ψs}^Λ\to J/ψΣ}}/{Γ_{P_{ψs}^Λ\to J/ψΛ}}$ could be up to $10\%$.

Precision measurement of quark Yukawa couplings is a crucial aspect of Higgs property study. Proposed as a future upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) provides opportunities to probe quark Yukawa couplings with a high precision because of relatively low rate from QCD background as compared with that of the Higgs processes at the LHC. For this purpose, it is important to have a precision prediction of the Higgs production rate at the LHeC. The leading production channel of the Higgs boson at the LHeC is via weak boson fusion (WBF) which has the unique kinematic feature of forward tagging jets. Since there is no color exchange between the forward-backward objects in WBF processes, electroweak radiative corrections become particularly important. In this paper, we focus on the electroweak radiative corrections at next-to-leading order for Higgs boson production in the WBF channel at the LHeC. In the two renormalization schemes we use, the loop corrections are respectively at the level of 9% and 18% relative to the leading order result, and the next-to-leading calculation in both schemes agree up to a truncation error expected from the perturbative method. The size of the EW correction exceeds that from QCD radiations and is shown to be important for the study of Higgs phenomenology.

We fit the distributions of the difference between expected and observed $B$ candidate energy, continuum-suppression discriminant, dipion masses, and decay angles of the selected samples, to determine a signal yield of $345 \pm 31$ events. The signal yields are corrected for efficiencies determined from simulation and control data samples to obtain $\mathcal{B}(B^+ \to ρ^+ρ^0) = [23.2^{+\ 2.2}_{-\ 2.1} (\rm stat) \pm 2.7 (\rm syst)]\times 10^{-6}$, $f_L = 0.943 ^{+\ 0.035}_{-\ 0.033} (\rm stat)\pm 0.027(\rm syst)$, and $\mathcal{A}_{CP}=-0.069 \pm 0.068(\rm stat) \pm 0.060 (\rm syst)$. We search for stochastic gravitational wave background emitted from cosmic strings using the Parkes Pulsar Timing Array data over 15 years. While we find that the common power-law excess revealed by several pulsar timing array experiments might be accounted for by the gravitational wave background from cosmic strings, the lack of the characteristic Hellings-Downs correlation cannot establish its physical origin yet. The constraints on the cosmic string model parameters are thus derived with conservative assumption that the common power-law excess is due to unknown background. Two representative cosmic string models with different loop distribution functions are considered. We obtain constraints on the dimensionless string tension parameter $Gμ<10^{-11}\sim10^{-10}$, which is more stringent by two orders of magnitude than that obtained by the high-frequency LIGO-Virgo experiment for one model, and less stringent for the other. The results provide the chance to test the Grand unified theories, with the spontaneous symmetry breaking scale of $U(1)$ being two-to-three orders of magnitude below $10^{16}$ GeV. The pulsar timing array experiments are thus quite complementary to the LIGO-Virgo experiment in probing the cosmic strings and the underlying beyond standard model physics in the early Universe.

The results for spectral indices of 17 pulsars are in the range between -0.6 and -3.10. The polarization profiles of thirteen pulsars are shown. There is a moderate correlation between the spectral index and spin frequency. For most pulsars detected, the S/N ratio of pulse profile is not high, so DM, Faraday rotation measure (RM), and polarization can not be determined precisely. Twenty-nine pulsars were not detected in our observations. We discuss the possible explanations for why these pulsars were not detected.

In this work, we present the most precise measurement of tensor currents in the low-energy regime by examining the $β$-$\barν$ correlation of trapped $^{8}$Li ions with the Beta-decay Paul Trap. We find $a_{βν} = -0.3325 \pm 0.0013_{stat} \pm 0.0019_{syst}$ at $1σ$ for the case of coupling to right-handed neutrinos $(C_T=-C_T')$, which is consistent with the SM prediction.

Abstract:
We study the interactions of the $Σ_cΣ_c$ system in the framework of chiral effective theory. We consider the contact, one-pion and two-pion exchange interactions and bridge the low energy constants of the $Σ_cΣ_c$ system to those of the $Σ_c^{(*)}\bar{D}^{(*)}$ systems through the quark-level ansatz for the contact interaction. We explore the influence of intermediate channels in the two-pion exchange diagrams of the $Σ_cΣ_c$ system. We obtain a deep bound state $[Σ_cΣ_c]_{J=0}^{I=0}$ and a shallow bound state $[Σ_cΣ_c]_{J=1}^{I=1}$. As a byproduct, we further investigate the interactions of the $Λ_cΛ_c$ and $Λ_cΣ_c$ systems.

Chiral symmetry and its spontaneous breaking play an important role both in the light hadron and heavy hadron systems. The chiral perturbation theory ($χ$PT) is the low energy effective field theory of the QCD. In this work, we shall review the investigations on the chiral corrections to the properties of the heavy mesons and baryons within the framework of $χ$PT. We will also review the scatterings of the light pseudoscalar mesons and heavy hadrons, through which many new resonances such as the $D_{s0}^\ast(2317)$ could be understood.
Moreover, many new hadron states were observed experimentally in the past decades. A large group of these states is near-threshold resonances, such as the charged charmoniumlike $Z_c$ and $Z_{cs}$ states, bottomoniumlike $Z_b$ states, hidden-charm pentaquark $P_c$ and $P_{cs}$ states and the doubly charmed $T_{cc}$ state, etc. They are very good candidates of the loosely bound molecular states composed of a pair of charmed (bottom) hadrons, which are very similar to the loosely bound deuteron. The modern nuclear force was built upon the chiral effective field theory ($χ$EFT), which is the extension of the $χ$PT to the systems with two matter fields. The long-range and medium-long-range interactions between two nucleons arise from the single- and double-pion exchange respectively, which are well constrained by the chiral symmetry and its spontaneous breaking. The short-distance interactions can be described by the low energy constants. Such a framework works very well for the nucleon-nucleon scattering and nuclei. In this work, we will perform an extensive review of the progress on the heavy hadronic molecular states within the framework of $χ$EFT. We shall emphasize that the same chiral dynamics not only govern the nuclei and forms the deuteron, but also dictates the shallow bound states or resonances composed of two heavy hadrons.

The decays and mixing of $K$ mesons are remarkably sensitive to the weak interactions of quarks and leptons at high energies. They provide important tests of the standard model at both first and second order in the Fermi constant $G_F$ and offer a window into possible new phenomena at energies as high as 1,000 TeV. These possibilities become even more compelling as the growing capabilities of lattice QCD make high-precision standard model predictions possible. Here we discuss and attempt to forecast some of these capabilities.

Although the cosmic curvature has been tightly constrained in the standard cosmological model using observations of cosmic microwave background anisotropies, it is still of great importance to independently measure this key parameter using only late-universe observations in a cosmological model-independent way. The distance sum rule in strong gravitational lensing (SGL) provides such a way, provided that the three distances in the sum rule can be calibrated by other observations. In this paper, we propose that gravitational waves (GWs) can be used to provide the distance calibration in the SGL method, which can avoid the dependence on distance ladder and cover a wider redshift range. Using the simulated GW standard siren observation by the Einstein Telescope as an example, we show that this scheme is feasible and advantageous. We find that $ΔΩ_k\simeq 0.17$ with the current SGL data, which is slightly more precise than the case of using SN to calibrate. Furthermore, we consider the forthcoming LSST survey that is expected to observe many SGL systems, and we find that about $10^4$ SGL data could provide the precise measurement of $ΔΩ_k\simeq 10^{-2}$ with the help of GWs. In addition, our results confirm that this method of constraining $Ω_k$ is strongly dependent on lens models. However, obtaining a more accurate phenomenological model for lens galaxies is highly predictable as future massive surveys observe more and more SGL samples, which will significantly improve the constraint of cosmic curvature.

We estimate the amount of $^{37}$Ar produced in natural xenon via cosmic ray-induced spallation, an inevitable consequence of the transportation and storage of xenon on the Earth's surface. We then calculate the resulting $^{37}$Ar concentration in a 10-tonne payload~(similar to that of the LUX-ZEPLIN experiment) assuming a representative schedule of xenon purification, storage and delivery to the underground facility. Using the spallation model by Silberberg and Tsao, the sea level production rate of $^{37}$Ar in natural xenon is estimated to be 0.024~atoms/kg/day. Assuming the xenon is successively purified to remove radioactive contaminants in 1-tonne batches at a rate of 1~tonne/month, the average $^{37}$Ar activity after 10~tonnes are purified and transported underground is 0.058--0.090~$μ$Bq/kg, depending on the degree of argon removal during above-ground purification. Such cosmogenic $^{37}$Ar will appear as a noticeable background in the early science data, while decaying with a 35~day half-life. This newly-noticed production mechanism of $^{37}$Ar should be considered when planning for future liquid xenon-based experiments.
