Abstract:
The charged Higgs boson ($H^\pm$) with a mass below the top quark mass remains a viable possibility within the type-I two-Higgs-doublet model under current constraints. The charged Higgs boson ($H^\pm$) with a mass below the top quark mass remains a viable possibility within the type-I two-Higgs-doublet model under current constraints. While previous LHC searches have primarily focused on the $H^\pm\toτν$ decay mode, the decay channel into an off-shell top quark and a bottom quark, $H^\pm \rightarrow t^*b$, is leading or subleading for $H^\pm$ masses between 130 and 170 GeV. This study investigates the discovery potential of future colliders for this off-shell decay mode through pair-produced charged Higgs bosons decaying via $H^+H^-\rightarrow t^*bτν\rightarrow bbjjτν$. We perform signal-to-background analyses at the HL-LHC and a prospective 100 TeV proton-proton collider, employing cut-flow strategies and the Boosted Decision Tree method. However, due to the softness of the $b$ jets, signal significances fall below detection thresholds at these facilities. Extending our study to a multi-TeV muon collider (MuC), we demonstrate that a 3 TeV MuC achieves high signal significance, surpassing the $5σ$ threshold with an integrated luminosity of 1 ab$^{-1}$, assuming a 10\% background uncertainty. Specifically, for $M_{H^\pm} = 130$, 150, and 170 GeV, the significances are 13.7, 13.5, and 6.06, respectively. In contrast, a 10 TeV MuC requires 10 ab$^{-1}$ to achieve similar results. Our findings highlight the critical role of the MuC in probing the new signal channel $H^\pm\rightarrow t^*b$, offering a promising avenue for future charged Higgs boson searches involving off-shell top quarks.

We investigate the meson-baryon interaction in coupled channels with the quantum numbers of the pentaquarks $P_{bss}$ and $P_{bsss}$. The interaction is derived from an extension of the local hidden gauge approach to the heavy quark sector, which has demonstrated accurate results compared to experiments involving $Ω_{b}$, $Ξ_{b}$ states, and pentaquarks $P_{c}$ and $P_{cs}$. In our study, we identify several molecular states with small decay widths within the chosen set of coupled channels. The spin-parity ($J^P$) of these states is as follows: $J^P={\frac{1}{2}}^-$ for pseudoscalar-baryon (${\frac{1}{2}}^+$) coupled channels, $J^P={\frac{3}{2}}^-$ for pseudoscalar-baryon (${\frac{3}{2}}^+$) coupled channels, $J^P={\frac{1}{2}}^-$ and ${\frac{3}{2}}^-$ for vector-baryon (${\frac{1}{2}}^+$) coupled channels, and $J^P={\frac{1}{2}}^-$, ${\frac{3}{2}}^-$, ${\frac{5}{2}}^-$ for vector-baryon (${\frac{3}{2}}^+$) coupled channels. We search for the poles of these states and evaluate their couplings to the different channels.

We find that the system is bound with respect to the corresponding $Λ_c^* D$ threshold with a binding of about $60$ MeV and a width of about $90$ MeV. Alternatively we assume a cluster of $ND$ and a $D^*$ meson interacting with the cluster and we find similar results. The observation of these states of $J^P = 1/2^+,\, 3/2^+$ would provide new and valuable information concerning the $DN$ and $D^* N$ interaction, an issue of current debate.

Multi-band gravitational-wave (GW) standard siren observations are poised to herald a new era in the study of cosmic evolution. These observations offer higher signal-to-noise ratios and improved localizations compared to those achieved with single-band GW detection, which are crucial for the cosmological applications of dark sirens. In this work, we explore the role multi-band GW synergetic observations will play in measuring cosmological parameters, particularly in comparison with single GW observatory data. We used mock multi-band dark siren data from third-generation GW detectors and the baseline Decihertz Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory to infer cosmological parameters. Our analysis was conservative, involving only the 89 actual GW events from the current Gravitational Wave Transient Catalogs in our data simulation, facilitating a direct comparison with existing dark siren results. Multi-band GW observations significantly improve sky localization accuracy by two to three orders of magnitude over single-band observations, although their impact on luminosity distance error remains limited. This results in a substantial improvement in the constraints on matter density and the Hubble constant, enhancing them by $75\%$ to $85\%$ and $65\%$ to $82\%$, respectively. We conclude that the significant potential of multi-band GW synergistic observations for detecting GW signals and resolving the Hubble tension is highly promising and warrants anticipation.

We also illustrated methods for determining the spin and parity of the excited baryon $\barΞ^{*+}$ using the $e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow γ^*/ψ\rightarrow Ξ^{-}\barΞ^{*+}$ process as an example. We report a first study of the semileptonic decay $D^0\rightarrow K^-π^0μ^{+}ν_μ$ by analyzing an $e^+e^-$ annihilation data sample of $7.9~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ collected at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector. The absolute branching fraction of $D^0\to K^-π^0μ^{+}ν_μ$ is measured for the first time to be $(0.729 \pm 0.014_{\rm stat} \pm 0.011_{\rm syst})\%$. Based on an amplitude analysis, the $S\text{-}{\rm wave}$ contribution is determined to be $(5.76 \pm 0.35_{\rm stat} \pm 0.29_{\rm syst})\%$ of the total decay rate in addition to the dominated $K^{*}(892)^-$ component. The branching fraction of $D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-μ^+ν_μ$ is given to be $(2.062 \pm 0.039_{\rm stat} \pm 0.032_{\rm syst})\%$, which improves the precision of the world average by a factor of 5. Combining with the world average of ${\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-e^+ν_e)$, the ratio of the branching fractions obtained is $\frac{{\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-μ^+ν_μ)}{{\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-e^+ν_e)} = 0.96\pm0.08$, in agreement with lepton flavor universality. Furthermore, assuming single-pole dominance parameterization, the most precise hadronic form factor ratios for $D^0\to K^{*}(892)^{-} μ^+ν_μ$ are extracted to be $r_{V}=V(0)/A_1(0)=1.37 \pm 0.09_{\rm stat} \pm 0.03_{\rm syst}$ and $r_{2}=A_2(0)/A_1(0)=0.76 \pm 0.06_{\rm stat} \pm 0.02_{\rm syst}$.

We analyze theoretically the coupled-channel meson-baryon interaction with global flavor $\bar c c s s n$ and $\bar c c s s s$, where mesons are pseudoscalars or vectors and baryons have $J ^P=1/2^+$ or $3/2^+$. The aim is to explore whether the nonlinear dynamics inherent in the unitarization process within coupled channels can dynamically generate double- and triple-strange pentaquark-type states ($P_{css}$ and $P_{csss}$ respectively), for which there is no experimental evidence to date. We evaluate the s-wave scattering matrix by implementing unitarity in coupled channels, using potential kernels obtained from t-channel vector meson exchange. The required $PPV$ and $VVV$ vertices are obtained from Lagrangians derived through appropriate extensions of the local hidden gauge symmetry approach to the charm sector, while capitalizing on the symmetry of the spin and flavor wave function to evaluate the $BBV$ vertex. We find four different poles in the double strange sector, some of them degenerate in spin. For the triple-strange channel we find the meson-baryon interaction insufficient to generate a bound or resonance state through the unitary coupled-channel dynamics.

Using MadGraph5_aMC@NLO, we calculate the leading-order and next-to-leading order (NLO) cross-sections and compute the corresponding $K$-factors for 111 processes. Our analysis reveals $K$-factors ranging from 1.005 for $pp \to jjj$ to 4.221 for $pp\to W^\pm γγγ$. Key findings include: (i) processes involving photons display significantly high $K$-factors, attributed to gluon-initiated processes at NLO; (ii) processes with multiple particle productions, particularly those involving vector bosons, exhibit elevated $K$-factors due to multiple real emission processes; (iii) there exists an inverse correlation between the number of jets and $δK$, indicating that the addition of jets generally leads to a decrease in $δK$. Additionally, our investigation into differential $K$-factors relative to transverse momentum and invariant mass shows notable increases with higher $p_T$, but minimal changes with invariant mass. This study highlights the indispensable role of precise $K$-factor evaluations for accurate interpretations of BSM search outcomes.

This study investigates the potential of a multi-TeV Muon Collider (MuC) for probing the Inert Triplet Model (ITM), which introduces a triplet scalar field with hypercharge $Y=0$ to the Standard Model. The ITM stands out as a compelling Beyond the Standard Model scenario, featuring a neutral triplet $T^0$ and charged triplets $T^\pm$. Notably, $T^0$ is posited as a dark matter (DM) candidate, being odd under a $Z_2$ symmetry. Rigorous evaluations against theoretical, collider, and DM experimental constraints corner the triplet scalar mass to a narrow TeV-scale region, within which three benchmark points are identified, with $T^\pm$ masses of 1.2 TeV, 1.85 TeV, and 2.3 TeV, for the collider study. The ITM's unique $TTVV$ four-point vertex, differing from fermionic DM models, facilitates efficient pair production through Vector Boson Fusion (VBF). This characteristic positions the MuC as an ideal platform for exploring the ITM, particularly due to the enhanced VBF cross-sections at high collision energies. To address the challenge of the soft decay products of $T^\pm$ resulting from the narrow mass gap between $T^\pm$ and $T^0$, we propose using Disappearing Charged Tracks (DCTs) from $T^\pm$ and Forward muons as key signatures. We provide event counts for these signatures at MuC energies of 6 TeV and 10 TeV, with respective luminosities of 4 ab$^{-1}$ and 10 ab$^{-1}$. Despite the challenge of beam-induced backgrounds contaminating the signal, we demonstrate that our proposed final states enable the MuC to achieve a $5σ$ discovery for the identified benchmark points, particularly highlighting the effectiveness of the final state with one DCT and one Forward muon.

In this study, we explore the phenomenological signatures associated with a light fermiophobic Higgs boson, $h_{\rm f}$, within the type-I two-Higgs-doublet model at the HL-LHC. Our meticulous parameter scan illuminates an intriguing mass range for $m_{h_{\rm f}}$, spanning $[1,10]{\;{\rm GeV}}$. This mass range owes its viability to substantial parameter points, largely due to the inherent challenges of detecting the soft decay products of $h_{\rm f}$ at contemporary high-energy colliders. Given that this light $h_{\rm f}$ ensures $Br(h_{\rm f}\toγγ)\simeq 1$, $Br(H^\pm \to h_{\rm f} W^\pm)\simeq 1$, and $M_{H^\pm}\lesssim 330{\;{\rm GeV}}$, we propose a golden discovery channel: $pp\to h_{\rm f}H^\pm\to γγγγ\,l^\pmν$, where $l^\pm$ includes $e^\pm$ and $μ^\pm$. However, a significant obstacle arises as the two photons from the $h_{\rm f}$ decay mostly merge into a single jet due to their proximity within $ΔR<0.4$. This results in a final state characterized by two jets, rather than four isolated photons, thus intensifying the QCD backgrounds. To tackle this, we devise a strategy within \textsc{Delphes} to identify jets with two leading subparticles as photons, termed diphoton jets. Our thorough detector-level simulations across 18 benchmark points predominantly show signal significances exceeding the $5σ$ threshold at an integrated luminosity of $3{\;{\rm ab}^{-1}}$. Furthermore, our approach facilitates accurate mass reconstructions for both $m_{h_{\rm f}}$ and $M_{H^\pm}$. Notably, in the intricate scenarios with heavy charged Higgs bosons, our application of machine learning techniques provides a significant boost in significance.

We propose a minimal extension of the Standard Model with the Peccei-Quinn (PQ) scalar field and explain the relic density of the QCD axion through the kinetic misalignment with a relatively small axion decay constant. To this purpose, we consider a slow-roll inflation from the radial component of the PQ field with the PQ conserving potential near the pole of its kinetic term and investigate the post-inflationary dynamics of the PQ field for reheating. The angular mode of the PQ field, identified with the QCD axion, receives a nonzero velocity during inflation due to the PQ violating potential, evolving with an approximately conserved Noether PQ charge. We determine the reheating temperature from the perturbative decays and scattering processes of the inflaton and obtain dark radiation from the axions produced from the inflaton scattering at a testable level in the future Cosmic Microwave Background experiments. We show the correlation between the reheating temperature, the initial velocity of the axion and the axion decay constant, realizing the axion kinetic misalignment for the correct relic density.

In this note we study the tensor and vector exchange contributions to the elastic reactions involving the pseudoscalars mesons $π^+ π^-$, $K^{+}K^{-}$ and $D^{+}D^{-}$. In the case of the tensor-exchange contributions we assume that an intermediate tensor $f_2(1270)$ is dynamically generated from the interaction of two virtual $ρ$ mesons, with the use of a pole approximation. The calculation of the two-loop amplitude is facilitated since the triangle loops can be factorized and computed separately. The results show very small contributions coming from the tensor-exchange mechanisms when compared with those from the vector-exchange processes. We compare our results for $ππ$ and $K\bar{K}$ scattering with those obtained in other works where the $f_2(1270)$ is considered as an ordinary $q\bar{q}$ meson. Our picture provides a smaller contribution but of similar order of magnitude for pion scattering and stabilizes the results in the case of $K\bar{K}$, allowing us to make estimates for $D\bar{D}$ scattering.

We give formulas of the coalescence factors $B_2$ and $B_3$, and naturally explain their behaviors as functions of the collision centrality and the transverse momentum per nucleon $p_T/A$. We reproduce the transverse momentum spectra, averaged transverse momenta and yield rapidity densities of $d$, $^3$He and $t$, and find the system effective radius obtained in the coalescence production of light nuclei behaves similarly to Hanbury Brown-Twiss interferometry radius. We particularly give expressions of yield ratios $d/p$, $^3$He$/d$, $t/p$, $^3$He$/p$, $d/p^{2}$, $^3$He$/p^3$, $t/^3$He and argue their nontrivial behaviors can be used to distinguish production mechanisms of light nuclei.

The 2.5-generation (2.5G) ground-based gravitational wave (GW) detectors LIGO Voyager and NEMO are expected to be operational in the late 2020s and early 2030s. In this work, we explore the potential of GW standard sirens observed by the 2.5G GW detectors in measuring cosmological parameters, especially for the Hubble constant. Using GWs to measure cosmological parameters is inherently challenging, especially for 2.5G detectors, given their limited capability, which results in weaker constraints on cosmological parameters from the detected standard sirens. However, the measurement of the Hubble constant using standard siren observations from Voyager and NEMO is still promising. For example, using bright sirens from Voyager and NEMO can measure the Hubble constant with an accuracy of about $2\%$ and $6\%$ respectively, and using the Voyager-NEMO network can improve the accuracy to about $1.6\%$. Moreover, bright sirens can be used to break the degeneracy of cosmological parameters generated by CMB data, and to a certain extent, 2.5G detectors can also play a role in this aspect. Observations of dark sirens by 2.5G detectors can achieve relatively good results in measuring the Hubble constant, with an accuracy of within $2\%$, and if combining observations of bright and dark sirens, the accuracy of the Hubble constant measurement can reach about $1.3\%$. Finally, we also discussed the impact of the uncertainty in the binary neutron star merger rate on the estimation of cosmological parameters. We conclude that the magnificent prospect for solving the Hubble tension is worth expecting in the era of the 2.5G ground-based GW detectors.

The branching-fraction ratio ${\mathcal B}(J/ψ\to e^+ e^- η(1405))$/${\mathcal B}(J/ψ\to γη(1405))$ is determined to be $(1.35\pm0.19(\rm{stat.})\pm0.06(\rm{syst.}))\times10^{-2}$. Furthermore, an $e^+e^-$ invariant-mass dependent transition form factor of $J/ψ\to e^+ e^-η(1405)$ is presented for the first time. The obtained result provides input for different theoretical models, and is valuable for the improved understanding the intrinsic structure of the $η(1405)$ meson.

We search for a $B$ decay mode where one can find a peak for a $D \bar{D}$ bound state predicted in effective theories and in Lattice QCD calculations, which has also been claimed from some reactions that show an accumulated strength in $D \bar{D}$ production at threshold. We find a good candidate in the $B^+\to K^+ ηη$ reaction, by looking at the $ηη$ mass distribution. The reaction proceeds via a first step in which one has the $B^+\to D_s^{*+} \bar{D}^0$ reaction followed by $D_s^{*+}$ decay to $D^0 K^+$ and a posterior fusion of $D^0 \bar{D}^0$ to $ηη$, implemented trough a triangle diagram that allows the $D^0 \bar{D}^0$ to be virtual and produce the bound state. The choice of $ηη$ to see the peak is based on results of calculations that find the $ηη$ among the light pseudoscalar channels with stronger coupling to the $D \bar{D}$ bound state. We find a neat peak around the predicted mass of that state in the $ηη$ mass distribution, with an integrated branching ratio for $B^+\to K^+$ ($D\bar{D}$, bound) ; ($D\bar{D}$, bound) $\to ηη$ of the order of $1.5 \times 10^{-4}$, a large number for hadronic $B$ decays, which should motivate its experimental search.

We study the molecular probability of the $X(3872)$ in the $D^0 \bar D^{*0}$ and $D^+ D^{*-}$ channels in several scenarios. One of them assumes that the state is purely due to a genuine nonmolecular component. However, it gets unavoidably dressed by the meson components to the point that in the limit of zero binding of the $D^0 \bar D^{*0}$ component becomes purely molecular. Yet, the small but finite binding allows for a nonmolecular state when the bare mass of the genuine state approaches the $D^0 \bar D^{*0}$ threshold, but, in this case the system develops a small scattering length and a huge effective range for this channel in flagrant disagreement with present values of these magnitudes. Next we discuss the possibility to have hybrid states stemming from the combined effect of a genuine state and a reasonable direct interaction between the meson components, where we find cases in which the scattering length and effective range are still compatible with data, but even then the molecular probability is as big as $95 \%$. Finally, we perform the calculations when the binding stems purely from the direct interaction between the meson-meson components. In summary we conclude, that while present data definitely rule out the possibility of a dominant nonmolecular component, the precise value of the molecular probability requires a more precise determination of the scattering length and effective range of the $D^0 \bar D^{*0}$ channel, as well as the measurement of these magnitudes for the $D^+ D^{*-}$ channel which have not been determined experimentally so far.

We address the issue of the compositeness of hadronic states and demonstrate that starting with a genuine state of nonmolecular nature, but which couples to some meson-meson component to be observable in that channel, if that state is blamed for a bound state appearing below the meson-meson threshold it gets dressed with a meson cloud and it becomes pure molecular in the limit case of zero binding. We discuss the issue of the scales, and see that if the genuine state has a mass very close to threshold, the theorem holds, but the molecular probability goes to unity in a very narrow range of energies close to threshold. The conclusion is that the value of the binding does not determine the compositeness of a state. However, in such extreme cases we see that the scattering length gets progressively smaller and the effective range grows indefinitely. In other words, the binding energy does not determine the compositeness of a state, but the additional information of the scattering length and effective range can provide an answer. We also show that the consideration of a direct attractive interaction between the mesons in addition to having a genuine component, increases the compositeness of the state. Explicit calculations are done for the $T_{cc}(3875)$ state, but are easily generalized to any hadronic system.

In the coming decades, the space-based gravitational-wave (GW) detectors such as Taiji, TianQin, and LISA are expected to form a network capable of detecting millihertz GWs emitted by the mergers of massive black hole binaries (MBHBs). In this work, we investigate the potential of GW standard sirens from the Taiji-TianQin-LISA network in constraining cosmological parameters. For the optimistic scenario in which electromagnetic (EM) counterparts can be detected, we predict the number of detectable bright sirens based on three different MBHB population models, i.e., pop III, Q3d, and Q3nod. Our results show that the Taiji-TianQin-LISA network alone could achieve a constraint precision of $0.9\%$ for the Hubble constant, meeting the standard of precision cosmology. Moreover, the Taiji-TianQin-LISA network could effectively break the cosmological parameter degeneracies generated by the CMB data, particularly in the dynamical dark energy models. When combined with the CMB data, the joint CMB+Taiji-TianQin-LISA data offer $σ(w)=0.036$ in the $w$CDM model, which is close to the latest constraint result obtained from the CMB+SN data. We also consider a conservative scenario in which EM counterparts are not available. Due to the precise sky localizations of MBHBs by the Taiji-TianQin-LISA network, the constraint precision of the Hubble constant is expected to reach $1.2\%$. In conclusion, the GW standard sirens from the Taiji-TianQin-LISA network will play a critical role in hel** solve the Hubble tension and shedding light on the nature of dark energy.

We comprehensively study the potential for discovering lepton flavor violation (LFV) phenomena associated with the $Z$ and Higgs bosons at the LHeC and FCC-he. Our meticulous investigation reveals the remarkable suitability of electron-proton colliders for probing these rare new physics signals. This is due to the distinct advantages they offer, including negligible pileups, minimal QCD backgrounds, electron-beam polarization $P_e$, and the capability of distinguishing the charged-current from neutral-current processes. In our pursuit of LFV of the $Z$ boson, we employ an innovative indirect probe, utilizing the $t$-channel mediation of the $Z$ boson in the process $p e^- \to j τ^-$. For LFV in the Higgs sector, we scrutinize direct observations of the on-shell decays of $H\to e^+τ^-$ and $H\to μ^\pmτ^\mp$ through the charged-current production of $H$. Focusing on $H\to e^+τ^-$ proves highly efficient due to the absence of positron-related backgrounds in the charged-current modes at electron-proton colliders. Through a dedicated signal-to-background analysis with the boosted decision tree algorithm, we demonstrate that the LHeC with the total integrated luminosity of $1{\,{\rm ab}^{-1}}$ can put significantly lower $2σ$ bounds than the HL-LHC with $3{\,{\rm ab}^{-1}}$. Specifically, we find ${\rm{Br}}(Z\to eτ)< 2.2 \times 10^{-7}$, ${\rm{Br}}(H\to eτ) <1.7 \times 10^{-4} $, and ${\rm{Br}}(H\to μτ) < 1.0 \times 10^{-4}$. Furthermore, our study uncovers the exceptional precision of the FCC-he in measuring the LFV signatures of the $Z$ and Higgs bosons, which indicates the potential for future discoveries in this captivating field.

We decompose the ratio into four parts which are related to quark numbers, light-flavor quark $p_{T}$ spectrum, charm quark $p_{T}$ spectrum, momentum correlation between light and charm quarks, respectively. Their influence on $Λ_{c}^{+}/D^{0}$ ratio are individually studied. The curvature property of light-flavor quark $p_{T}$ spectrum is found to be the main reason of the non-monotonic $p_{T}$ dependence of $Λ_{c}^{+}/D^{0}$ ratio exhibited in high multiplicity events. Moreover, the multiplicity dependence of $Λ_{c}^{+}/D^{0}$ ratio as the function of $p_{T}$ is mainly because of the multiplicity dependence of light-flavor quark $p_{T}$ spectrum. Using the light-flavor quark $p_{T}$ spectrum obtained from experimental data of light-flavor hadrons and charm quark $p_{T}$ spectrum obtained from FONLL and/or PYTHIA calculations, the $p_{T}$ dependence of experimental data of $Λ_{c}^{+}/D^{0}$ ratio in high multiplicity events and that in low multiplicity events in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV are reasonably understood.

We investigate the single transverse-spin asymmetry with a $\sin (φ_h-φ_S)$ modulation in the charged Kaon produced and in $Λ$ hyperon produced SIDIS process within the theoretical framework of transverse momentum dependent (TMD) factorization at the next-to-leading-logarithmic order. The asymmetry is contributed by the convolution of Sivers function and the unpolarized fragmentation function $D_1$ for the produced hadron. The parametrization for the proton Qiu-Sterman function, which is closely related to the Sivers function, is adopted to numerically estimate the Sivers asymmetry at the kinematical region of Electron Ion Collider (EIC) and Electron Ion Collider in China (EicC). The TMD evolution of the TMD parton distribution functions are considered by employing the nonperturbative Sudakov form factor. It is found that the predicted Sivers asymmetries $A_{UT}^{\sin (φ_h-φ_S)}$ as functions of $x$, $z$ and $P_{hT}$ are sizable at the kinematical configurations of both EIC and EicC. The strange constituent of the produced charged Kaon and $Λ$ hyperon in the final state can be a promising probe of the sea quark Sivers function as well as the flavor dependence in the proton target. Therefore, it is important to utilize the future EIC facilities to constrain the sea quark distribution functions as well as the validity of the generalized universality of the Sivers function.

We investigate the spin density matrix of $Ω^-$ in the Cartesian coordinate system of baryon-antibaryon pairs produced in $e^{+}e^{-}$ annihilation. Using the helicity formalism of Jacob and Wick, we derive the expression for the spin-3/2 density matrices. Our analysis is based on the angular distribution of the process $e^+e^-\rightarrowψ(3686)\rightarrowΩ^-\barΩ^+$ in the BESIII experiment. By decomposing the polarization state of $Ω^-$ particles along different coordinate axes, we examine the polarization dependence of the cross-section. Our results demonstrate that $Ω^-$ particles exhibit varying degrees of tensor polarization along the x-, y-, and z-axes, as well as weak vector polarization and rank-3 tensor polarization along the y-axis. To our knowledge, this is the first study to calculate the polarization dependence of the cross-section distributions for the annihilation process $e^+e^-\rightarrowΩ^-\barΩ^+$. Our theoretical predictions are in good agreement with the experimental measurements.

The particle can be more elusive if the model retains stability up to the Planck scale because the efficient discovery channels are missing from the existing search chart. Through the comprehensive scanning, we show that all the viable parameter points with the Planck cutoff scale require $ m_{h_{\rm f}} \in[80,\, 120]{\;{\rm GeV}}$ and $M_{A/H^\pm} \in [90,\,150]{\;{\rm GeV}}$. Since $h_{\rm f}h_{\rm f}\to γγW^+ W^-$ and $H^\pm \to τ^\pm ν/h_{\rm f}W^\pm$ are dominant in this case, two final states are more efficient to probe $h_{\rm f}$ than the conventional search mode of $4γ+W^\pm/Z$. One is $τ^\pmνγγ$ from $pp \to H^\pm(\toτ^\pmν) h_{\rm f}(\to γγ)$ and the other is $\ell^\pm \ell^\pm γγ{\rlap{\,/}{E}_T} X$ ($\ell^\pm=e^\pm,μ^\pm$) from $pp \to H^\pm(\to h_{\rm f}W^\pm) h_{\rm f} \to γγW^+ W^-W^\pm $, $pp \to H^\pm(\to h_{\rm f} W^\pm) A(\to h_{\rm f} Z) \to γγW^+ W^- W^\pm Z $, and $pp \to H^+(\to h_{\rm f} W^+)H^-(\to h_{\rm f} W^-)\to γγW^+ W^- W^+ W^-$. The inclusive $\ell^\pm \ell^\pm γγ{\rlap{\,/}{E}_T} X$ consists of a same-sign dilepton, two prompt photons, and missing transverse energy. We perform the signal-background analysis at the detector level. With the total integrated luminosity of $300\;{\rm fb}^{-1}$ and the 5\% background uncertainty, two proposed channels at the 14 TeV LHC yield signal significances above five in the entire viable parameter space of the fermiophobic type-I with a high cutoff scale.

The first direct measurement of the absolute branching fraction of $Σ^+ \to Λe^+ ν_{e}$ is reported based on an $e^+e^-$ annihilation sample of $(10087\pm44) \times 10^6$ $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector at $\sqrt{s}=3.097$ GeV. The branching fraction is determined to be ${\mathcal B}(Σ^+ \to Λe^+ ν_{e}) = [2.93\pm0.74(\rm stat) \pm 0.13(\rm syst)]\times 10^{-5}$, which is the most precise measurement obtained in a single experiment to date and also the first result obtained at a collider experiment. Combining this result with the world average of ${\mathcal B}(Σ^- \to Λe^- \barν_{e})$ and the lifetimes of $Σ^{\pm}$, the ratio, $\frac{Γ(Σ^- \to Λe^- \barν_{e})}{Γ(Σ^+ \to Λe^+ ν_{e})}$, is determined to be $1.06 \pm 0.28$, which is within 1.8 standard deviations of the value expected in the absence of second-class currents that are forbidden in the Standard Model.

Gravitational waves (GWs) from compact binary coalescences encode the absolute luminosity distances of GW sources. Once the redshifts of GW sources are known, one can use the distance-redshift relation to constrain cosmological parameters. One way to obtain the redshifts is to localize GW sources by GW observations and then use galaxy catalogs to determine redshifts from a statistical analysis of redshift information of the potential host galaxies, commonly referred to as the dark siren method. The third-generation (3G) GW detectors are planned to work in the 2030s and will observe numerous compact binary coalescences. Using these GW events as dark sirens requires high-quality galaxy catalogs from future sky survey projects. The China Space Station Telescope (CSST) will be launched in 2024 and will observe billions of galaxies within a 17500 deg$^2$ survey area with redshift up to $z\sim 4$, providing photometric and spectroscopic galaxy catalogs. In this work, we simulate the CSST galaxy catalogs and the 5-year GW data from the 3G GW detectors and combine them to infer the Hubble constant ($H_0$). Our results show that the measurement precision of $H_0$ could reach the sub-percent level, meeting the standard of precision cosmology. We conclude that the synergy between CSST and the 3G GW detectors is of great significance in measuring the Hubble constant.

We study the production of light nuclei in the coalescence mechanism in Au-Au collisions at midrapidity at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=3$ GeV. We derive analytic formulas of momentum distributions of two bodies, three bodies and four nucleons coalescing into light nuclei, respectively. We naturally explain the transverse momentum spectra of the deuteron ($d$), triton ($t$), helium-3 ($^3$He) and helium-4 ($^4$He). We reproduce the data of yield rapidity densities and averaged transverse momenta of $d$, $t$, $^3$He and $^4$He. We give proportions of contributions from different coalescence sources for $t$, $^3$He and $^4$He in their productions. We find that besides nucleon coalescence, nucleon$+$nucleus coalescence and nucleus$+$nucleus coalescence may play requisite roles in light nuclei production in Au-Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=3$ GeV.

The type-I two-Higgs-doublet model in the inverted Higgs scenario can retain the theoretical stability all the way up to the Planck scale. The Planck-cutoff scale, $Λ_{\rm cut}^{\rm Planck}$, directly impacts the mass spectra such that all the extra Higgs boson masses should be light below about 160 GeV. However, the observation of the light masses of new Higgs bosons does not indicate the high cutoff scale because a low cutoff scale can also accommodate the light masses. Over the viable parameter points that satisfy the theoretical requirements and the experimental constraints, we show that the trilinear Higgs couplings for low $Λ_{\rm cut}$ are entirely different from those for the Planck-cutoff scale. The most sensitive coupling to the cutoff scale is from the $h$-$h$-$h$ vertex, where $h$ is the lighter CP-even Higgs boson at a mass below 125 GeV. Among the multi-Higgs productions mediated by Higgs bosons, the gluon fusion processes of $gg \to h h $ and $gg \to AA$ are insensitive to the cutoff scale, yielding a small variation of $\mathcal{O}(1)\,{\rm fb}$ according to $Λ_{\rm cut}$. The smoking-gun signature is from the triple Higgs production of $q\bar{q}' \to W^* \to H^\pm hh$, which solely depends on the $h$-$h$-$h$ vertex. The cross section for $Λ_{\rm cut}=1\,{\rm TeV}$ is about $10^3$ times larger than that for the Planck-cutoff scale. Since the decay modes of $H^\pm \to W^* h/W^* A$ and $h/A \to bb$ are dominant, the process yields the $6b+\ellν$ final state, which enjoys an almost background-free environment. Consequently, the precision measurement of $pp \to H^\pm hh$ can probe the cutoff scale of the model.

More than a century after the performance of the oil drop experiment, the possible existence of fractionally charged particles FCP still remains unsettled. The search for FCPs is crucial for some extensions of the Standard Model in particle physics. Most of the previously conducted searches for FCPs in cosmic rays were based on experiments underground or at high altitudes. However, there have been few searches for FCPs in cosmic rays carried out in orbit other than AMS-01 flown by a space shuttle and BESS by a balloon at the top of the atmosphere. In this study, we conduct an FCP search in space based on on-orbit data obtained using the DArk Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE) satellite over a period of five years. Unlike underground experiments, which require an FCP energy of the order of hundreds of GeV, our FCP search starts at only a few GeV. An upper limit of $6.2\times 10^{-10}~~\mathrm{cm^{-2}sr^{-1} s^{-1}}$ is obtained for the flux. Our results demonstrate that DAMPE exhibits higher sensitivity than experiments of similar types by three orders of magnitude that more stringently restricts the conditions for the existence of FCP in primary cosmic rays.

We study the interaction of meson-baryon coupled channels carrying quantum numbers of $Ω_{cc}$ , $Ω_{bb}$ and $Ω_{bc}$ presently under investigation by the LHCb collaboration. The interaction is obtained from an extension of the local hidden gauge approach to the heavy quark sector that has proved to provide accurate results compared to experiment in the case of $Ω_{c}$ , $Ξ_{c}$ states and pentaquarks, $P_c$ and $P_{cs}$. We obtain many bound states, with small decay widths within the space of the chosen coupled channels. The spin-parity of the states are $J^P={\frac{1}{2}}^-$ for coupled channels of pseudoscalar-baryon (${\frac{1}{2}}^+$), $J^P={\frac{3}{2}}^-$ for the case of pseudoscalar-baryon (${\frac{3}{2}}^+$), $J^P={\frac{1}{2}}^-,{\frac{3}{2}}^-$ for the case of vector-baryon (${\frac{1}{2}}^+$) and $J^P={\frac{1}{2}}^-,{\frac{3}{2}}^-,{\frac{5}{2}}^-$ for the vector-baryon (${\frac{3}{2}}^+$) channels. We look for poles of the states and evaluate the couplings to the different channels. The couplings obtained for the open channels can serve as a guide to see in which reaction the obtained states are more likely to be observed.

The deviation slightly increases up to about 4% in the semi-central and peripheral collision at \sqrt{s_{NN}}= 7.7, 11.5, 19.6 GeV. We systematically explain the dependence of two baryon-to-meson ratios \barΛ/K_{S}^{0} and Ω/φon p_{T}, collision centrality and collision energy by the property of quark p_{T} spectra at hadronization. We derive the analytic relations between R_{CP} of hadrons and those of quarks, and we use them to naturally explain the species and p_{T} dependence of R_{CP} of those strange hadrons.

In contrast to the $e \leftrightarrow μ$ CLFV transition for which very stringent limits exist, there is still a relatively large discovery space for the $e \to τ$ CLFV transition, potentially to be explored by the EIC. With the latest detector design of ECCE (EIC Comprehensive Chromodynamics Experiment) and projected integral luminosity of the EIC, we find the $τ$-leptons created in the DIS process $ep\to τX$ are expected to be identified with high efficiency. A first ECCE simulation study, restricted to the 3-prong $τ$-decay mode and with limited statistics for the Standard Model backgrounds, estimates that the EIC will be able to improve the current exclusion limit on $e\to τ$ CLFV by an order of magnitude.

Type-I in the two-Higgs-doublet model accommodates a fermiophobic light Higgs boson $h_{\rm f}$ if $α=π/2$. The heavier $CP$-even Higgs boson explains the observed Higgs boson at a mass of 125 GeV. We first obtain the still-valid parameter space satisfying the theoretical requirements, flavor-changing neutral currents in $B$ physics, the cutoff scale above 1 TeV, Higgs precision data, and the direct collider search bounds at high energy colliders. We also study the high energy scale behavior via the analysis of the renormalization group equations. An important result is that the fermiophobic type-I can maintain the stability of the scalar potential all the way up to the Planck scale if $m_{h_{\rm f}}$ is larger than half the observed Higgs boson mass. Since the parameter space is severely curtailed, especially for the high cutoff scale, the signal rates in the multi-photon states of new Higgs bosons at the LHC are well predicted. We suggest the processes of $4γ+VV'$ ($V^{(\prime)}=Z, W^\pm$) as the golden discovery channels for the model since they enjoy an almost background-free environment and substantial selection efficiencies for four photons.

Although type-X in the two-Higgs-doublet model provides an attractive solution to $Δa_μ$ through a light pseudoscalar $A$, the model confronts the exotic Higgs decays of $h\to AA$ and the lepton flavor universality data in the $τ$ and $Z$ decays. To save the model, we propose that the light pseudoscalar be Higgs-phobic. Through the random scanning over the entire parameter space, we perform a comparative study of the Higgs-phobic type-X with and without the CDF $m_W$ measurement, called the CDF and PDG cases respectively. Both cases can explain the two anomalies as well as all the other constraints but have significant differences in the finally allowed parameter space. For example, a small region with almost degenerate masses of new Higgs bosons around 100 GeV is allowed only in the PDG case. The cutoff scale of the model is also studied via the analysis of renormalization group equations, which reaches up to $10^5~{\rm GeV}$ ($10^7~{\rm GeV}$) in the CDF (PDG) case. Since the dominant decay modes are $A\to ττ$, $H \to Z A$, and $H^\pm\to W^\pm A$ in most of the viable parameter space, we propose the $4τ+VV'$ states as the golden discovery channel at the LHC.

The most recent $W$-boson mass measurement by the CDF collaboration with a substantially reduced uncertainty indicates a significant deviation from the standard model prediction, as large as $7σ$ if taken literally. Then the Peskin-Takeuchi parameters of $S$ and $T$ shift to larger values, which has profound consequences in searching for physics beyond the SM. In the framework of two-Higgs-doublet models, we study the effect of the new $W$-boson mass measurement on the parameter space. Combined with other constraints including theoretical requirements, flavor-changing neutral currents in $B$ physics, the cutoff scale above 1 TeV, Higgs precision data, and direct collider search limits from the LEP, Tevatron, and LHC experiments, we find upper bounds on the masses of the heavy Higgs bosons: $M_{H, A, H^\pm} \lesssim 1.1$ TeV in type I, II, X, and Y for the normal Higgs scenario; $M_{H^\pm} \lesssim 450 $ GeV and $M_{A} \lesssim 420 $ GeV in type I and X for the inverted scenario where the heavier $CP$-even Higgs boson is the observed one. Another important finding is that type II and type Y in the inverted scenario are completely excluded. Such unprecedented findings imply that the upcoming LHC run can readily close out a large portion of the still-available parameter space.

With the kinetic freeze-out nucleons and antinucleons obtained from the quark combination model, we study the production of light nuclei and antinuclei in the (anti-)nucleon coalescence mechanism in relativistic heavy ion collisions. We derive analytic formulas of the momentum distributions of different light nuclei and apply them to compute transverse momentum ($p_T$) spectra of (anti-)deuterons ($d$, $\bar d$) and (anti-)tritons ($t$, $\bar t$) in Au-Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=$7.7, 11.5, 19.6, 27, 39, 54.4 GeV. We find that the experimental data available for these $p_T$ spectra can be well reproduced. We further study the yields and yield ratios of different light (anti-)nuclei and naturally explain their interesting behaviors as a function of the collision energy. We especially point out that the multi-particle yield ratio $tp/d^2$ should be carefully corrected from hyperon weak decays for protons to probe the production characteristics of light nuclei. All of our results show that the coalescence mechanism for (anti-)nucleons plays a dominant role for the production of light nuclei and antinuclei at the RHIC beam energy scan energies.

In the type-I two-Higgs-doublet model, existing theoretical and experimental constraints still permit the light charged Higgs boson with a mass below the top quark mass. We present a complete roadmap for the light charged Higgs boson at the LHC through the comprehensive phenomenology study, focusing on the normal scenario where the lighter \textit{CP}-even Higgs boson is the observed Higgs boson. In type-I, it is challenging to simultaneously accommodate the light mass of the charged Higgs boson and the constraints from theory, electroweak precision data, Higgs data, $b\to s γ$, and direct search bounds. Consequently, the parameter space is extremely curtailed, which predicts somewhat definite phenomenological signatures. We find that the mass of the pseudoscalar Higgs boson, $M_A$, is the most crucial factor in the phenomenology of the charged Higgs boson. If $M_A$ is light, the charged Higgs boson decays mainly into $A W^\pm$. When $M_A$ is above the $A W^\pm$ threshold, the dominant decay mode is into $ τ^\pm ν$. Over the whole viable parameter space, we study all the possible production and decay modes of charged Higgs bosons at the LHC, and suggest three efficient channels: (i) $pp \to H^+ H^-\to [τν] [τν]$; (ii) $pp \to HA/HH/AA \to H^\pm W^\mp H^\pm W^\mp \to [τν] [τν] W W$; (iii) $pp \to H^+ H^-\to [b \bar b W ] [b \bar b W ] $. Based on the sophisticated signal-background analyses including detector simulation, we showed that the significance of the first final state is large, that of the second one is marginal around three, but the third one suffers from huge $t\bar t$ related backgrounds.

We present an approach that allows one to obtain information on the compositeness of molecular states from combined information of the scattering length of the hadronic components, the effective range, and the binding energy. We consider explicitly the range of the interaction in the formalism and show it to be extremely important to improve on the formula of Weinberg obtained in the limit of very small binding and zero range interaction. The method allows obtaining good information also in cases where the binding is not small. We explicitly apply it to the case of the deuteron and the $D^{*}_{s0}(2317)$ and $D^{*}_{s1}(2460)$ states and determine simultaneously the value of the compositeness within a certain range, as well as get qualitative information on the range of the interaction.

The decay $J/ψ\to e^+ e^- X(1835)$ is observed with a significance of $15σ$, and the transition form factor of $J/ψ\to e^+e^-X(1835)$ is presented for the first time. The intermediate states $X(2120)$ and $X(2370)$ are also observed in the $π^+ π^- η'$ invariant mass spectrum with significances of $5.3σ$ and $7.3σ$. The corresponding product branching fractions for $J/ψ\to e^+e^-X$, $X\toπ^+π^-η'$ $(X=X(1835), X(2120)$ and $X(2370))$, are reported.

The branching fractions are determined to be $[5.48\pm0.31~(\rm stat)\pm0.45~(\rm syst)]\times 10^{-5}$ and $[3.53~\pm0.22~(\rm stat)\pm0.13~(\rm syst)]\times 10^{-5}$, respectively. The results are consistent with theoretical predictions. No significant signal is observed for $J/ψ\to μ^+μ^-μ^+μ^-$, and an upper limit on the branching fraction is set at $1.6\times 10^{-6}$ at the 90$\%$ confidence level. A CP asymmetry observable is constructed for the first two channels, which is measured to be $(-0.012\pm0.054\pm0.010)$ and $(0.062\pm0.059\pm0.006)$, respectively. No evidence for CP violation is observed in this process.

We propose a model for the vector-like lepton to explain the small muon mass by a seesaw mechanism, based on lepton-specific two Higgs doublet models with a local $U(1)'$ symmetry. There is no bare muon mass for a nonzero $U(1)'$ charge of the leptophilic Higgs doublet, so the physical muon mass is generated due to the mixing between the vector-like lepton and the muon after the leptophilic Higgs doublet and the dark Higgs get VEVs. In this scenario, the non-decoupling effects of the vector-like lepton give rise to leading contributions to the muon $g-2$, thanks to the light $Z'$ and the light dark Higgs boson. We discuss various constraints on the model from lepton flavor violation, electroweak precision and Higgs data, as well as collider searches.
