We utilize the effective Lagrangian method within the tree-level Born approximation to explore $φ$-meson photoproduction, i.e., $γp \to φp$. Our analysis encompasses contributions from various sources, including the Pomeron, $f_1$-Regge, pseudoscalar particles ($π$, $η$), scalar particles ($a_0$, $f_0$), protons, and three-nucleon resonance states. In addition, we consider a possible pentaquark-like $K^* Σ$-bound state $P_s$. The findings indicate that, apart from the region near the threshold, contributions other than the Pomeron generally have a limited impact on the total cross section. However, at specific angles, alternative contributions become crucial, particularly at smaller values of ${\rm cos}\,θ$. The incorporation of $P_s$ and other nucleon resonances proves essential to elucidate the bump observed near $W \sim 2.15$ GeV at very forward angles and behaviors within the range of $W=(2.0-2.3)$ GeV. Furthermore, in the region with $W\ge 2.5$ GeV, where nucleon resonances become negligible, contributions from the t-channel mesons become pivotal. Our calculations for spin density matrix components, examined in various frames, exhibit improvement when considering all contributions. This comprehensive approach successfully reproduces the observed bump by including $P_s$. We also briefly estimate the $P_s$ production via $φ$-meson photoproduction in the future Electron-Ion Collider (EIC), resulting in the luminosity of 10 fb$^{-1}$ per month.

In the NISQ (Noisy intermediate-scale quantum) area, Quantum computers can be utilized for deep learning by treating variational quantum circuits as neural network models. This can be achieved by first encoding the input data onto quantum computers using nonparametric unitary gates. An alternative approach is to train the data encoding to map input data from different classes to separated locations in the Hilbert space. The separation is achieved with metric loss functions, hence the naming ``Quantum Metric Learning". With the limited number of qubits in the NISQ area, this approach works naturally as a hybrid classical-quantum computation enabling embedding of high-dimensional feature data into a small number of qubits. Here, we consider an example of the global QCD color structure of hard b-jets emerging from color singlet scalar decays to optimize the signal to background discrimination with a hybrid classical-quantum metric learning. Due to the sparsity of data, self-supervised methods with data augmentation have been utilized so far. Compared to the this classical self-supervised approach, our hybrid method shows the better classification performance without data augmentations. We emphasize that performance enhancements independent of data augmentation techniques are devoid of the artificial risks introduced by data augmentation.

Strange and charmed baryon productions from proton-antiproton collisions are studied in the effective Lagrangian and Regge approaches. We include only the $t$-channel dynamics which is dominant for the diffractive region that is relevant in the present discussions. For strangeness productions, the coupling constants for $K$ meson are determined by $SU(3)$ relations while other unknown parameters for $K^{*}$ couplings and for form factors are fixed by existing observed data for strangeness productions. By extrapolating the amplitudes for strangeness productions to those for charm, we predict charm production cross sections. It turns out that the total cross sections are $10^{4}$ to $10^{5}$ smaller than those of strangeness productions, depending on the final states. By using the known total cross sections for strangeness, $\sim 10^{2} μb$ for $Λ\barΛ$ and, $\sim 10^{1} μb$ for $Σ\barΛ$ the total cross sections for charm productions are predicted to be $\sim 10^{-2} μb$ for $Λ_{c} \barΛ_c$, $\sim 10^{-3} μb$ for $Σ_{c} \barΛ_c$, and $\sim 10^{-4} μb$ for $Σ_{c} \barΣ_c$. Our results can be tested in the future experiments at $\bar{\text{P}}$ANDA.

The inert doublet model is a minimal dark matter model with strong theoretical motivations, where the stability of dark matter is usually achieved by imposing a $Z_2$ parity. We promote the $Z_2$ parity into a global $U(1)$ symmetry and study its phenomenological implications. There are two characteristic features of the model: both the CP-even and CP-odd neutral inert scalars, $h_1$ and $h_2$, become DM candidates; the number of model parameters is one less than that with $Z_2$ parity. We first analyze the constraints from LEP experiments, electroweak precision tests, theoretical stability, Higgs precision data, dark matter relic density, and direct detection experiments. It is found that if the model is required to explain at least 10% of the observed relic density, the theory is extremely limited such that the dark matter mass is about $70\;{\rm GeV}$ and the charged Higgs boson is not very heavy. Focusing on this narrow parameter space, we calculate the production cross sections of almost all the possible mono-$X$ and mono-$XX'$ processes at the LHC. The mono-$Wγ$ process is shown to have high discovery potential with the help of the decay of the intermediate-mass charged Higgs boson into $W^\pm h_{1,2}$. A search strategy is designed to increase the potential discovery of the model for the mono-$Wγ$ signal at both the HL-LHC and the FCC-hh. The optimal cut on $E_T^{\rm miss}/\sqrt{H_T}$ is suggested to maximize the signal significance, being about $0.76$ at the HL-LHC and about $7.5$ at the FCC-hh.

We propose a new reaction mechanism for the study of strange and charmed baryon productions. In this mechanism we consider the correlation of two quarks in baryons, so it can be called the two-quark process. As in the previously studied one-quark process, we find large production rates for charmed baryons in comparison with strange baryons. Moreover, the new mechanism causes the excitation of both the $ρ$ mode and the $λ$ mode. Using the wave functions for baryons from a quark model, we compute the production rates of various baryon states. We find that the production rates reflect the structure of the wave functions that imply the usefulness of the reactions for the study of baryon structures.

Little Higgs models - which can most easily be thought of as a variant of composite Higgs models - explain a light Higgs boson at 125 GeV as an pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone boson of a spontaneously broken global symmetry. The mechanism of collective symmetry breaking shifts the UV scale of these models to the 10 TeV scale and higher. T-parity is introduced as a discrete symmetry to remove tree-level constraints on the electroweak precision data. Still after run 1 of LHC, electroweak precision observables gave stronger constraints than Higgs data and direct searches. We present a full recast of all available 13 TeV searches from LHC run 2 to show that now direct searches supersede electroweak precision observables. The latest exclusion limits on the LHT model will be presented, as well as an outlook on the full high-luminosity phase of LHC.

We study the vector and axial-vector form factors of radiative kaon decay within the framework of the gauged nonlocal effective chiral action from the instanton vacuum, focusing on the effects of flavor SU(3) symmetry breaking. The general tendency of the results are rather similar to those of radiative pion decays: The nonlocal contributions make the results of the vector form factor increased by about $20\,\%$, whereas they reduce those of the axial-vector form factor by almost $30\,\%$. Suppressing the prefactors consisting of the kaon mass and the pion decay constant, we scrutinize how the kaon form factors undergo changes as the mass of the strange current quark is varied. Those related to the vector and second axial-vector form factors tend to decrease monotonically as the strange quark mass increases, whereas that for the axial-vector form factor decreases. When $K\to eνγ$ decay is considered, both the results of the vector and axial-vector form factors at the zero momentum transfer are in good agreement with the experimental data. The results are also compared with those from chiral perturbation theory to $p^6$ order.

The main goal of the working group was to present the state-of-the-art of Higgs physics at the LHC, integrating all new results that have appeared in the last few years. The first part compiles the most up-to-date predictions of Higgs boson production cross sections and decay branching ratios, parton distribution functions, and off-shell Higgs boson production and interference effects. The second part discusses the recent progress in Higgs effective field theory predictions, followed by the third part on pseudo-observables, simplified template cross section and fiducial cross section measurements, which give the baseline framework for Higgs boson property measurements. The fourth part deals with the beyond the Standard Model predictions of various benchmark scenarios of Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, extended scalar sector, Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model and exotic Higgs boson decays. This report follows three previous working-group reports: Handbook of LHC Higgs Cross Sections: 1. Inclusive Observables (CERN-2011-002), Handbook of LHC Higgs Cross Sections: 2. Differential Distributions (CERN-2012-002), and Handbook of LHC Higgs Cross Sections: 3. Higgs properties (CERN-2013-004). In the minimal Universal Extra Dimension (mUED) model, the second Kaluza-Klein (KK) gluon $g^{(2)}$ has loop-induced vertices with the standard model quarks, mediated by the first KK modes of the quark and the gluon/Higgs boson. With a top quark pair, this vertex is enhanced by the cooperation of the strong coupling of a gluon and the large Yukawa coupling of a top quark, leading to substantial branching ratio of $Br(g^{(2)} \to t \bar{t}) \approx 7%-8%$. As the $g^{(2)}$ coupling with two gluons appears via dimension-6 operator, $q\bar{q}\to g^{(2)}\to t\bar{t}$ is the golden mode for the mUED model. Hence the best channel is the $t\bar{t}$ resonance search in $p\bar{p}$ collisions. The recent Tevatron data at $\sqrt{s}=1.96$ TeV with an integrated luminosity of 8.7 fb$^{-1}$ are shown to give the first direct bound on the $g^{(2)}$ mass above 800 GeV. We find that the mass of the lightest scalar Higgs boson at the one-loop level should be larger than 85 GeV, if we take into account the negative experimental result for the Higgs search at LEP2. As the radiative corrections are calculated in some detail, we also find that the mass of the lightest scalar Higgs boson at the one-loop level is bounded from above at 280 GeV, This upper bound is increased from a previous result. If the MSSM is enlarged to accommodate vector-like quarks and their superpartners, we find that the strongly first-order EWPT is possible without requiring light scalar top quark at the one-loop level, in the limit where the lightest scalar Higgs boson of the MSSM behaves like the Higgs boson of the standard model and the other Higgs bosons are all as heavy as the SUSY breaking scale. The Dine-Seiberg-Thomas model (DSTM) is the simplest version of the new physics beyond the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), in the sense that its Higgs sector has just two dimension-five operators, which are obtained from the power series of the energy scale for the new physics in the effective action analysis. We study the possibility of spontaneous CP violation in the Higgs sector of the DSTM, which consists of two Higgs doublets. We find that the CP violation may be triggered spontaneously by a complex phase, obtained as the relative phase between the vacuum expectation values of the two Higgs doublets. At the tree level, for a reasonably established parameter region, the masses of the three neutral Higgs bosons and their corresponding coupling coefficients to a pair of $Z$ bosons in the DSTM are calculated such that the results are inconsistent with the experimental constraint by the LEP data. Thus, the LEP2 data exclude the possibility of spontaneous CP violation in the DSTM at the tree level. On the other hand, we find that, for a wide area in the parameter region, the CP symmetry may be broken spontaneously in the Higgs sector of the DSTM at the one-loop level, where top quark and scalar top quark loops are taken into account. The upper bound on the radiatively corrected mass of the lightest neutral Higgs boson of the DSTM is about 87 GeV, in the spontaneous CP violation scenario. We confirm that the LEP data does not exclude this numerical result.

We provide a detailed investigation of single-photon production processes in $e^+e^-$ collisions with missing momenta carried by neutrinos or neutralinos. The transition amplitudes for both processes can be organized into a generic simplified, factorized form; each neutral V$\pm$A vector current of missing energy carriers is factorized out and all the characteristics of the reaction is solely included in the electron vector current. Firstly, we apply the generic form to give a unified description of a single-photon production with a Dirac-type or Majorana-type neutrino-pair and to confirm their identical characteristics as suggested by the so-called Practical Dirac-Majorana Confusion Theorem. Secondly, we show that the generic amplitude form is maintained with the anomalous P- and C-invariant WW$γ$ couplings in the neutrino-associated process and it enables us to easily understand large contributions of the anomalous WW$γ$ couplings at higher energies and, in particular, at the points away from the Z-resonance peak. Finally, the neutralino-associated process, which receives modifications in both the left-handed and right-handed electron currents due to the exchanges of the left-handed and right-handed selectrons, can be differentiated from the neutrino-associated ones through the left-right asymmetries and/or the circular polarization of the outgoing photon.

We investigate in detail the phenomenological impacts of the CP-odd complex phase in the production of light charginos in $e^+e^-$ annihilation. The values of the chargino masses and the mixing angles, determining the size of the wino and higgsino components in the chargino wave functions, are so sensitive to the CP-odd phase that the constraints on the supersymmetric parameters based on the conventional assumptions for the parameters are recommended to be re-evaluated including the CP-odd phase.

Abstract:
It is shown that the transition amplitudes of radiative electroweak processes like $e^-e^+ \to ν_e \olν_e \ga$, $\ga e^- \to ν_e \olν_e e^-$, and $ν_e e^- \to ν_e e^- \ga$ can be reduced and factorized into simpler forms in the Standard Model. This method can be used in reducing many calculations of complicated radiative electroweak processes in general.

Abstract:
The electroweak production processes of vector bosons, $e^+ e^- \rightarrow Z γ$, $γe \rightarrow Ze$, and $γe \rightarrow W ν$ are considered simultaneousely and in the Standard model the covariant polarization density matrices of vector bosons for these processes are obtained explicitly from one of the processes, $γe \rightarrow Z e$. The effect of the photon polarization as well as the vector…

Abstract:
We derive the simplest form of the $κ(κ^2)$ order graviton self-interaction Lagrangian density $\lag{1}(\lag{2})$ in the weak field approximation. With the divergenceless condition, de Donder gauge and some combinatoric techniques, we derive the mathematically independent basis expressions for $\lag{1}(\lag{2})$ composed of 8(24) terms. By using the basis expressions $\lag{1}(\lag{2})$ is reduce…

Abstract:
The study of factorization in the linearized gravity is extended to the graviton scattering processes with a massive scalar particle, with a massless vector boson and also with a graviton. Every transition amplitude is shown to be completely factorized and the physical implications of their common factors are discussed.

Abstract:
Gravitational Compton scattering process with a massive fermion is studied in the context of the linearized gravity. Gravitational gauge invariance and graviton transversality cause the transition amplitude to be factorized into that of scalar QED Compton scattering and that of fermion QED Compton scattering with an overall kinematical factor.
