In this work, we study the phenomenology of neutrinos and the formation of cosmic domain walls in the NMSSM extended by an $A_4 \times Z_3$ flavor symmetry. Neutrino masses result from the type I seesaw mechanism using only two flavon fields and the NMSSM singlet $\mathcal{S}$ while their mixing is of Trimaximal mixing form. We perform our phenomenological study in the normal mass hierarchy where we find that observables like $m_{ββ}$, $m_β$, and $\sum_i m_i$ can be tested by future experiments. Due to the difference between the $A_4$ subgroups that undergo spontaneous breaking in both the charged lepton and neutrino sectors, the resulting domain walls in each sector exhibit distinct structures. We delve into the details of the breaking patterns within these two sectors, and we introduce a nuanced geometric representation for them. To tackle the domain wall problem, we explore a well-established method involving the explicit breaking of the flavor symmetry. This is achieved through the introduction of Planck-suppressed operators induced by supergravity.

In this work, we delve into the often-overlooked cosmological implications of spontaneous breaking of non-Abelian discrete groups, specifically focusing on the formation of domain walls in the case of $S_{4}$ flavor symmetry. In particular, we investigate three interesting breaking patterns of the $S_4$ group and study the structure of the domain walls in the broken phase for three possible residual symmetries. The presentation of domain walls in the case of multiple vacua is usually complicated, which therefore implies that most of the analyzes only approximate their presentation. Here, we propose a subtle way to represent the $S_{4}$ domain wall networks by presenting the vacua in each breaking pattern as vectors with their components corresponding to their coordinates in the flavon space. Then, through the properties of the obtained vectors, we find that the domain wall networks can be represented by Platonic or Archimedean solids where the vertices represent the degenerate vacua while the edges correspond to the domain walls that separate them. As an illustration, we propose a type-II seesaw model that is based on the $S_{4}$ flavor symmetry, and study its phenomenological implications on the neutrino sector. To solve the domain wall problem within this toy model, we consider an approach based on high-dimensional effective operators induced by gravity that explicitly break the structure of the induced vacua favoring one vacuum over the others.

The search for dark-matter (DM) candidates at high-energy colliders is one of the most promising avenues to understand the nature of this elusive component of the universe. Several searches at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) have strongly constrained a wide range of simplified models. The combination of the bounds from the LHC with direct-detection experiments exclude the most minimal scalar singlet DM model. To address this, Lepton portal DM models are suitable candidates where DM is predominantly produced at lepton colliders since the DM candidate only interacts with the lepton sector through a mediator that carries a lepton number. In this work, we analyse the production of DM pairs in association with a Higgs boson decaying into two bottom quarks at future muon colliders in the framework of the minimal lepton portal DM model. It is found that the usual cut-based analysis methods fail to probe heavy DM masses for both the resolved (where the decay products of the Higgs boson can be resolved as two well-separated small-$R$ jets) and the merged (where the Higgs boson is clustered as one large-$R$ jet). We have then built a search strategy based on Boosted-Decision Trees (BDTs). We have optimised the hyperparameters of the BDT model to both have a high signal-to-background ratio and to avoid overtraining effects. We have found very important enhancements of the signal significance with respect to the cut-based analysis by factors of $8$--$50$ depending on the regime (resolved or merged) and the benchmark points. Using this BDT model on a one-dimensional parameter space scan we found that future muon colliders with $\sqrt{s}=3$ TeV and ${\cal L} = 1~{\rm ab}^{-1}$ can exclude DM masses up to $1$ TeV at the $95\%$ CL.

A series of pulsar timing arrays (PTAs) recently observed gravitational waves at the nanohertz frequencies. Motivated by this remarkable result, we present a novel class of Pati-Salam models that give rise to a network of metastable cosmic strings, offering a plausible explanation for the observed PTA data. Besides, we introduce a hybrid inflationary scenario to eliminate magnetic monopoles that arise during the spontaneous symmetry breaking of the Pati-Salam gauge group to the Standard Model. The resulting scalar spectral index is compatible with Planck data, and the tensor-to-scalar ratio is anticipated to be extremely small. Moreover, we incorporate a non-thermal leptogenesis to generate the required baryon asymmetry in our framework. Finally, the gravitational wave spectra generated by the metastable cosmic strings not only correspond to signals observed in recent PTAs, including NANOGrav, but are also within the exploration capacity of both present and future ground-based and space-based experiments.

We investigate the prospects of probing the doubly-charged scalars of the minimal Left-Right Symmetric model (MLRSM) at a muon collider. We assess its capability by studying the production of doubly-charged scalars and their subsequent decay into four charged lepton final states containing the same-charge lepton pairs. We find that the channels with same-charge electron and muon pairs, i.e., ($e^{\pm}e^{\pm}μ^{\mp}μ^{\mp}$ and its charge conjugated pairs), have the largest sensitivity due to the lowest Standard Model background. Besides, we show that the possibility of using fully polarized initial muon beams in the muon collider can enhance the detection sensitivity of doubly-charged scalars of the MLRSM. Furthermore, we show that one can put exclusion limits on the magnitudes of triplet Yukawa couplings that are directly related to the neutrino sector of the MLRSM for the mass range $1.1-5$ TeV of the doubly-charged scalars.

After imposing all theoretical and low-energy experimental constraints on the model parameters, we find that the Zee-Babu states are expected not to reside below the TeV scale, making it challenging to probe them at the LHC. We first analyze the production rates for various channels, including multi singly-charged and/or doubly-charged scalars at muon colliders. For concreteness, we study several benchmark points that satisfy neutrino oscillation data and other constraints and find that most channels have large production rates. We then analyze the discovery reach of the model using two specific channels: the pair production of singly- and doubly-charged scalars. For the phenomenologically viable scenarios considered in this study, charged scalars with masses up to ${\cal O}(3$--$4)$ TeV can be probed for the center-of-mass energy of $10$ TeV and total luminosity of $10~{\rm ab}^{-1}$.

These models are very interesting since they avoid constraints from direct detection experiments even for coupling of order ${\cal O}(1)$, they have small annihilation cross sections, and can be probed efficiently at lepton colliders. In this work, we consider a minimal lepton portal DM model which consists of extending the SM with two $SU(2)_L$ singlets: a charged scalar singlet and an electrically neutral right-handed fermion. We systematically study the production mechanisms of DM at multi-TeV muon colliders. After considering all the possible theoretical and experimental constraints and studying the phenomenology of lepton flavour violation and DM in the muon-philic scenario, we analyse the production rates of 54 channels (26 channels for prompt DM production and 28 channels for charged scalar production) at multi-TeV muon colliders. Finally, we discuss the possible collider signatures of some channels and the corresponding backgrounds. We find that at least 9 channels for DM production can be very efficient in testing DM with masses up to about $1$ TeV.

We demonstrate the quantum simulation of such a model, a quantum mechanical system with spatial noncommutativity, which is inspired by the works in Noncommutative Geometry and Noncommutative Field theory for a universal quantum computer. We use the novel group theoretical formalism to map the Hamiltonian of such a noncommutative quantum system into the ordinary quantum mechanical Hamiltonian and then carry out the quantum simulation using the Trotter-Suzuki product formula. Furthermore, we distinguish the impact of the noncommutativity parameter on the quantum simulation, especially on the Trotter error, and point out how its sizable value affects the simulation.

We revisit the hybrid inflation model gauged by $U(1)_{B-L}$ extension of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) in a no-scale background. Considering a single predictive framework, we study inflation, leptogenesis, gavitino cosmology, and the stochastic background of gravitational waves produced by metastable cosmic strings. The spontaneous breaking of $U(1)_{B-L}$ at the end of inflation produces a network of metastable cosmic strings while, the interaction between $U(1)_{B-L}$ Higgs field and the neutrinos generate heavy Majorana masses for the right-handed neutrinos. The heavy Majorana masses explain the tiny neutrino masses via the seesaw mechanism, a realistic scenario for reheating and non-thermal leptogenesis. We show that a successful non-thermal leptogenesis and a stable gravitino as a dark matter candidate can be achieved for a wide range of reheating temperatures and $U(1)_{B-L}$ symmetry breaking scales. The possibility of realizing metastable cosmic strings in a grand unified theory (GUT) setup is briefly discussed. We find that a successful reheating with non-thermal leptogenesis and gravitino dark matter restrict the allowed values of string tension to a narrow range $10^{-9} \lesssim Gμ_{CS} \lesssim 8 \times 10^{-6}$, predicting a stochastic gravitational-wave background that lies within the 1-$σ$ bounds of the recent NANOGrav 12.5-yr data, as well as within the sensitivity bounds of future GW experiments.

In this model, the dark matter (DM) candidates are the three mass degenerate dark photons $A_{i}$ $(i=1,2,3)$ of $SU(2)_{HS}$; and the hidden sector interacts with the (SM) particles through the Higgs portal interactions. Consequently, there will be a new CP-even scalar $η$ that could be either heavier or lighter than the SM-like Higgs. By taking into account all theoretical and experimental constraints such as perturbativity, unitarity, vacuum stability, non-SM Higgs decays, DM direct detection, DM relic density, we found viable DM is possible in the range from GeV to TeV. Within the viable parameters space, the both of the triple Higgs coupling and the di-Higgs production at LHC14 could be enhanced or reduced depending on the scalar mixing and the mass of the scalar particle $η$.

We investigate the prospect of detecting the Dark Matter (DM) candidate in the three-loop radiative neutrino mass generation model extended with large electroweak multiplets of the Standard Model (SM) gauge group, at the future imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescope known as the Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA). We find that the addition of such large electroweak multiplets leads to a sizable Sommerfeld enhanced annihilation of the DM with $O(\text{TeV})$ mass, into the SM gauge bosons which results in continuum and line-like spectra of very high energy (VHE) gamma-rays, and therefore becomes observable for the CTA. We determine the viable models by setting the upper limit on the $SU(2)_{L}$ isospin of the multiplets from the partial-wave unitarity constraints and the appearance of low-scale Landau pole in the gauge coupling. Afterwards, by considering the continuum VHE gamma-rays produced from the DM annihilation at the Galactic center, we probe the parameter space of the model using the sensitivity reach of the CTA.

Here, unlike the standard model sector which is typically coupled to metric, dark matter is supposed to couple only to spacetime affine connection through a $Z_2$-symmetry breaking term. We show that this structure leads to a coupling between dark matter, which is considered scalar, and the standard model Higgs potential. This induces dark matter decays into standard model particles through the Higgs which acts as a portal between the visible and the dark sectors. We study thoroughly the resulting decay modes for various mass ranges, and provide relevant bounds on the nonminimal coupling to affine gravity in line with observational data. Moreover, we find that the coupling to Higgs can be sufficiently large to facilitate production of dark matter lighter than 10 GeV at current and future high energy colliders.

Multiple scalar fields nonminimally interacting through pure affine gravity are considered to generate primordial perturbations during an inflationary phase. The couplings considered give rise to two distinct sources of entropy perturbations that may not be suppressed in the long wavelength limit. The first is merely induced by the presence of more than one scalar and arises even in the minimal coupling limit. The second source however is restricted to nonminimal interaction. Unlike the case of metric gravity, and due to the absence of anisotropic stresses, the second source disappears for single scalar, showing that nonminimal couplings become relevant to non-adiabatic perturbations only when more than one scalar field are considered. Hence the notion of adiabaticity is not affected by the transition to minimal coupling contrary to the metric gravity case where it is confused by changing the frames. Precise data that might be able to neatly track different sources of isocurvature modes, if any, must not only distinguish between different models of inflation but also determine the most viable approach to gravity which underlies the inflationary dynamics itself.

Inspired by the neutrino oscillations data, we consider the exact $μ-τ$ symmetry, implemented at the level of the neutrino mass matrix, as a good initial framework around which to study and describe neutrino phenomenology. Working in the diagonal basis for the charged leptons, we deviate from $μ-τ$ symmetry by just modifying the phases of the neutrino mass matrix elements. This deviation is enough to allow for a non-vanishing neutrino mixing entry $|V_{e3}|$ (i.e. $θ_{13}$) but it also gives a very stringent (and eventually falsifiable) prediction for the atmospheric neutrino mixing element $|V_{\mu3}|$ as a function of $|V_{e3}|$. The breaking by phases is characterized by a single phase and is shown to lead to interesting lower bounds on the allowed mass of the lightest neutrino depending on the ordering of neutrino masses (normal or inverted) and on the value of the Dirac ${\cal CP}$ violating phase $δ_{CP}$. The allowed parameter space for the effective Majorana neutrino mass $m_{ee}$ is also shown to be non-trivially constrained.

We study the phenomenology of scotogenic model in the case of Majorana Dark Matter (DM) candidate. This scenario gives important consequences since the parameter space of the model is almost unconstrained compared to the Inert Higgs Doublet Model (or the scotogenic model with scalar DM), and hence, offers new opportunities for discovery at future high energy collider, e.g. the HL-LHC. As an example, we focus on the production of the Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson in association with a pair of dark scalars. Owing to its clean signature, the $γγ$ decay channel of the SM Higgs boson is investigated in great detail at both the HL-LHC (at $\sqrt{s}=14$ TeV) and the future FCC-hh (at $\sqrt{s}=100$ TeV). After revisiting the LHC constraints from run-II on the parameter space of the model, and selecting benchmark points satisfying all the theoretical and experimental constraints, we found that scalars with mass up to $140$ GeV ($160$ GeV) can be probed at the LHC (FCC-hh) with a $3$ ab$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity assuming $5\%$ of uncertainty.

We present the Sommerfeld enhanced Dark Matter (DM) annihilation into gamma ray for a class of three-loop radiative neutrino mass models with large electroweak multiplets where the DM mass is in O(TeV) range. We show that in this model, the DM annihilation rate becomes more prominent for larger multiplets and it is already within the reach of currently operating Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov telescopes (IACTs), High Energy Stereoscopic System (H.E.S.S.). Furthermore, Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA), which will begin operating in 2030, will improve this sensitivity by a factor of $\mathcal{O}{(10)}$ and may exclude a large portion of parameter space of this radiative neutrino mass model with larger electroweak multiplet. This implies that the only viable option is the model with lowest electroweak multiplets i.e. singlets of $SU(2)_{L}$ where the DM annihilation rate is not Sommerfeld enhanced and hence it is not yet constrained by the indirect detection limits from H.E.S.S. or future CTA.

We investigate charged lepton flavor violating processes $μ\rightarrow e γ$, $μ\rightarrow e e \overline{e}$ and $μ-e$ conversion in nuclei for a class of three-loop radiative neutrino mass generation models with electroweak multiplets of increasing order. We find that, because of certain cancellations among various one-loop diagrams which give the dipole and non-dipole contributions in effective $μe γ$ vertex and Z-penguin contribution in effective $μe Z$ vertex, the flavor violating processes $μ\rightarrow eγ$ and $μ-e$ conversion in nuclei become highly suppressed compared to $μ\rightarrow e e \overline{e}$ process. Therefore, the observation of such pattern in LFV processes may reveal the radiative mechanism behind neutrino mass generation.

The neutrino mass is generated at one-loop level a la Scotogenic model and its smallness is ensured by the degeneracy between the CP-odd and CP-even scalar members of the inert doublet. We extend this symmetry for the lepton sector within type-I seesaw scenario, and show it can accommodate the mixing angles, the mass hierarchies and the lepton asymmetry in the universe. We then study the effects of perturbing the specific form of the neutrino mass matrix imposed by the symmetry and compute the resulting mixing and mass spectrum. We trace back this "low-scale" perturbation to a "high-scale" perturbation, and find realizations of this latter one arising from exact symmetries with an enriched matter content.

The dark matter may reside in a single multiplet or arise as an admixture of several multiplets. We find fifteen independent models, for which the dark matter is a viable candidate and neutrino mass results from a diagram with just one of the irreducible scale-invariant one-loop topologies. Further "non-pure" cases give hybrid one-/two-loop masses. All models predict new TeV scale physics, including a singlet scalar that generically mixes with the Higgs boson.

The model predicts the existence of a singlet scalar (dilaton) that plays the dual roles of triggering electroweak symmetry breaking and sourcing lepton number violation. Important constraints are studied, including those from lepton flavor violating effects and dark matter direct-detection experiments. The latter turn out to be somewhat severe, already excluding large regions of parameter space. None the less, viable regions of parameter space are found, corresponding to dark matter masses below (roughly) 10 GeV and above 200 GeV.

A new heavy resonance may be observable at the LHC if it has a significant decay branching fraction into a pair of photons. We entertain this possibility by looking at the modest excess in the diphoton invariant mass spectrum around 750 GeV recently reported in the ATLAS and CMS experiments. Assuming that it is a spinless boson, dubbed $\tilde s$, we consider it within a model containing two weak scalar doublets having zero vacuum expectation values and a scalar singlet in addition to the doublet responsible for breaking the electroweak symmetry. The model also possesses three Dirac neutral singlet fermions, the lightest one of which can play the role of dark matter and which participate with the new doublet scalars in generating light neutrino masses radiatively. We show that the model is consistent with all phenomenological constraints and can yield a production cross section $σ(pp\rightarrow\tilde{s}\rightarrowγγ)$ of roughly the desired size, mainly via the photon-fusion contribution, without involving extra colored fermions or bosons. We also discuss other major decay modes of $\tilde s$ which are potentially testable in upcoming LHC measurements.

A recent paper investigated minimal R$ν$MDM models with the type T1-iii and T3 one-loop topologies. However, the candidate most-minimal model does not possess an accidental symmetry - the scalar potential contains an explicit symmetry breaking term, rendering the dark matter unstable. We present two models that cure this problem. However, we further show that all of the proposed minimal one-loop R$ν$MDM models suffer from a second problem - an additional source of explicit $Z_2$ symmetry breaking in the Yukawa sector. We perform a more-general analysis to show that neutrino mass models using either the type T3 or type T1-iii one-loop topologies do not give viable minimal dark matter candidates. Consequently, one-loop models of neutrino mass with minimal dark matter do not appear possible. Thus, presently there remains a single known (three-loop) model of neutrino mass that gives stable dark matter without invoking any new symmetries.

The Standard Model is enlarged with a Majorana fermion, three generations of chiral fermion pairs, and a single complex scalar that plays a central role in DM production and phenomenology, neutrino masses, and the strength of the phase transition. All the new fields are singlets under the SM gauge group. Neutrino masses are generated via a new variant of radiative inverse seesaw where the required small mass term is generated via loops involving DM and no large hierarchy is assumed among the mass scales. The model offers all the advantage of low-scale neutrino mass models as well as a viable dark matter candidate that is testable with direct detection experiments.

This allows a common framework for the origin of neutrino mass and dark matter without invoking any symmetries beyond those of the Standard Model. This allows a common framework for the origin of neutrino mass and dark matter without invoking any symmetries beyond those of the Standard Model. The model can be probed by direct-detection experiments and $μ\rightarrow e+γ$ searches, and predicts a charged scalar that can appear at the TeV scale, within reach of collider experiments.

Abstract:
We study some implications of the presence of two inert scalar doublets which are charged under a dark Abelian gauge symmetry. Specifically, we investigate the effects of the new scalars on oblique electroweak parameters and on the interactions of the 125 GeV Higgs boson, especially its decay modes $h\toγγ,γZ$, and trilinear coupling, all of which will be probed with improved precision in future H…

Moreover, we explore how the inert scalars may give rise to strongly first-order electroweak phase transition and also show its correlation with sizable modifications to the Higgs trilinear coupling.

Abstract:
In this work we investigate the sphaleron solution in a $SU(2)\times U(1)_X$ gauge theory, which also encompasses the Standard Model, with higher scalar representation(s) ($J^{(i)},X^{(i)}$). We show that the field profiles describing the sphaleron in higher scalar multiplet, have similar trends like the doublet case with respect to the radial distance. We compute the sphaleron energy and find tha…

We compute the sphaleron energy and find that it scales linearly with the vacuum expectation value of the scalar field and its slope depends on the representation. We also investigate the effect of $U(1)$ gauge field and find that it is small for the physical value of the mixing angle, $θ_{W}$ and resembles the case for the doublet. For higher representations, we show that the criterion for strong first order phase transition, $v_{c}/T_{c}>η$, is relaxed with respect to the doublet case, i.e. $η<1$.

Here, the lightest RH neutrino is a dark matter candidate that gives a relic density in agreement with the recent Planck data, the model can be consistent with the neutrino oscillation data, lepton flavor violating processes, the electroweak phase transition can be strongly first order; and the charged scalars may enhance the branching ratio $h\rightarrowγγ$, where as $h\rightarrowγZ$ get can get few percent suppression. We also discuss the phenomenological implications of the RH neutrinos at the collider.

Abstract:
We study the consequences of the $Z_2$-symmetry behind the $μ$--$τ$ universality in neutrino mass matrix. We then implement this symmetry in the type-I seesaw mechanism and show how it can accommodate all sorts of lepton mass hierarchies and generate enough lepton asymmetry to interpret the observed baryon asymmetry in the universe. We also show how a specific form of a high-scale perturbation is…

We then implement this symmetry in the type-I seesaw mechanism and show how it can accommodate all sorts of lepton mass hierarchies and generate enough lepton asymmetry to interpret the observed baryon asymmetry in the universe. We also show how a specific form of a high-scale perturbation is kept when translated via the seesaw into the low scale domain, where it can accommodate the neutrino mixing data. We finally present a realization of the high scale perturbed texture through addition of matter and extra exact symmetries.

In this letter, we investigate the case of a twin peak around the observed 125 GeV scalar resonance, using di-Higgs production processes at both LHC and $e^{+}e^{-}$ Linear Colliders. We have shown that both at LHC and Linear Collider the triple Higgs couplings play an important role to identify this scenario; and also that this scenario can be distinguishable from any Standard Model extension by extra massive particles which might modify the triple Higgs coupling. We also introduce a criterion that can be used to ruled out the twin peak scenario.
