Phenomenology of a Deconstructed Electroweak Force
Abstract: We study an effective theory of flavour in which the $SU(2)_L$ interaction is `flavour-deconstructed' near the TeV scale. This arises, for example, in UV models that unify all three generations of left-handed fermions via an $Sp(6)_L$ symmetry. Flavour-universality of the electroweak force emerges accidentally (but naturally) from breaking the $\prod_{i=1}^3 SU(2)_{L,i}$ gauge group to its diagona… ▽ More

The Weinberg Angle and 5D RGE effects in a SO(11) GUT theory
Abstract: The Weinberg angle is an important parameter in Grand Unified Theories (GUT) as its size is crucially influenced by the assumption of unification. The Multiple Point Principle and Extended Higgs Sectors
Abstract: The Higgs boson quartic self-coupling in the Standard Model appears to become zero just below the Planck scale, with interesting implications to the stability fo the Higgs vacuum at high energies. Aspects of CP violation in the HZZ coupling at the LHC
Abstract: We examine the CP-conserving (CPC) and CP-violating (CPV) effects of a general HZZ coupling through a study of the process H -> ZZ* -> 4 leptons at the LHC. We construct asymmetries that directly probe these couplings. Further, we present complete analytical formulae for the angular distributions of the decay leptons and for some of the asymmetries. Using these we have been able to identify new… ▽ More

Fine Tuning in Supersymmetric Models
Abstract: The solution of a fine tuning problem is one of the principal motivations of Supersymmetry. However experimental constraints indicate that many Supersymmetric models are also fine tuned (although to a much lesser extent). We review the traditional measure of this fine tuning used in the literature and propose an alternative. We apply this to the MSSM and show the implications.

A New Measure of Fine Tuning
Abstract: The solution to fine tuning is one of the principal motivations for Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) Studies. However constraints on new physics indicate that many of these BSM models are also fine tuned (although to a much lesser extent). To compare these BSM models it is essential that we have a reliable, quantitative measure of tuning. We review the measures of tuning used in the literature an… ▽ More

Mass Determination in Cascade Decays Using Shape Formulas
Abstract: In SUSY scenarios with invisible LSP, sparticle masses can be determined from fits to the endpoints of invariant mass distributions. Here we discuss possible improvements by using the shapes of the distributions. Positive results are found for multiple-minima situations and for mass regions where the endpoints do not contain sufficient information to obtain the masses.

Mass ambiguities in cascade decays
Abstract: We review the use of invariant mass distributions in cascade decays to measure the masses of New Physics (NP) particles in scenarios where the final NP cascade particle is invisible. We extend earlier work by exploring further the problem of multiple solutions for the masses.

CP Studies and Non-Standard Higgs Physics
Abstract: There are many possibilities for new physics beyond the Standard Model that feature non-standard Higgs sectors. These may introduce new sources of CP violation, and there may be mixing between multiple Higgs bosons or other new scalar bosons. Alternatively, the Higgs may be a composite state, or there may even be no Higgs at all. These non-standard Higgs scenarios have important implications for… ▽ More

Supersymmetry Parameter Analysis: SPA Convention and Project
Abstract: High-precision analyses of supersymmetry parameters aim at reconstructing the fundamental supersymmetric theory and its breaking mechanism. A well defined theoretical framework is needed when higher-order corrections are included. We propose such a scheme, Supersymmetry Parameter Analysis SPA, based on a consistent set of conventions and input parameters. A repository for computer programs is pr… ▽ More
