We investigate the cosmological first-order chiral phase transition of QCD, and for the first time calculate its parameters which can fully determine the gravitational wave spectrum. With the state-of-the-art calculation from the functional QCD method, we found that the large chemical potential of QCD phase transition results in very weak and fast first-order phase transitions at the temperature lower than $\mathcal{O}(10^2)$ MeV. These results further suggest that the GW signals of NANOGrav are very unlikely sourced from the chiral phase transition of QCD.

In this paper, we analyze the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of 17 powerful (with a spin-down luminosity greater than $10^{35}$ erg s$^{-1}$) young (with an age less than 15000 yrs) pulsar wind nebulae (PWNe) using a simple time-independent one-zone emission model. Our aim is to investigate correlations between model parameters and the ages of the corresponding PWNe, thereby revealing the evolution of high-energy electron distributions within PWNe. Our findings are as follows: (1) The electron distributions in PWNe can be characterized by a double power-law with a superexponential cutoff; (2) As PWNe evolve, the high-energy end of the electron distribution spectrum becomes harder with the index decreasing from approximately 3.5 to 2.5, while the low-energy end spectrum index remains constant near 1.5; (3) There is no apparent correlation between the break energy or cutoff energy and the age of PWNe. (4) The average magnetic field within PWNe decreases with age, leading to a positive correlation between the energy loss timescale of electrons at the break energy or the high-energy cutoff, and the age of the PWN. (5) The total electron energy within PWNe remains constant near $2 \times 10^{48}$ erg, while the total magnetic energy decreases with age.

For such goals in the physics frontiers we discuss a plan of building a super $η$ factory at HIAF high-energy terminal or at CiADS after upgrade. The high-intensity proton beam at HIAF provides a great opportunity of producing a huge number of $η$ samples of more than $10^{13}$ events per year, with multiple layers of thin targets of light nucleus. The physics goals, the first-version conceptual design of the spectrometer, and the preliminary simulation results are present.

The inclusive production of pseudoscalar heavy quarkoniua ($η_c,~η_b$ and $B_c$) via photon-photon fusion in heavy ion ultraperipheral collision (UPC) are calculated to QCD next-to-leading order in the framework of non-relativistic QCD (NRQCD). The total cross section of $η_c$ produced in Pb-Pb UPC is 194 $\mathrm{nb}^{-1}$ and 1052 $\mathrm{nb}^{-1}$ at nucleon-nucleon c.m. energies $\sqrt{S_{\mathrm{NN}}}=$ 5.52 TeV and 39.4 TeV, respectively. The cross sections for $η_b$ and $B_c$ mesons are more than two to three orders of magnitude smaller. We make a detailed phenomenological analysis on the $η_c$ production; the uncertainties caused by the renormalization scale and the charm quark mass, the cross sections in other ultraperipheral nucleon-nucleon colliding systems, and the transverse momentum distribution are discussed. At the coming HL-LHC and future FCC, the heavy ion UPC opens another door of the study on the production of heavy quarkonium.

We consider the three-dimensional rotating motions of neutron stars blown by the "axion wind". Neutron star precession and spin can change from the magnetic moment coupling to the oscillating axion background field, in analogy to the gyroscope motions with a driving force and the laboratory Nuclear Magnetic Resonance(NMR) detections of the axion. This effect modulates the pulse arrival time of the pulsar timing arrays. It shows up as a signal on the timing residual and two-point correlation function on the recent data of Nanograv and PPTA. The current measurement of PTAs can thus cast constraints on the axion-nucleon coupling as g_{ann} ~ 10^{-12}{GeV}^{-1}.

In this work we try to search for signals generated by ultra-heavy dark matter at the Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory (LHAASO) data. We look for possible gamma-ray by dark matter annihilation or decay from 16 dwarf spheroidal galaxies in the field of view of LHAASO. Dwarf spheroidal galaxies are among the most promising targets for indirect detection of dark matter which have low fluxes of astrophysical $γ$-ray background while large amount of dark matter. By analyzing more than 700 days observational data at LHAASO, no significant dark matter signal from 1 TeV to 1 EeV is detected. Accordingly we derive the most stringent constraints on the ultra-heavy dark matter annihilation cross-section up to EeV. The constraints on the lifetime of dark matter in decay mode are also derived.

We measure the following relative branching fractions $${\cal B}(Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{0}π^{0})/{\cal B}(Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{-}π^{+}) = 0.48 \pm 0.02 ({\rm stat}) \pm 0.03 ({\rm syst}) ,$$ $${\cal B}(Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{0}η)/{\cal B}(Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{-}π^{+}) = 0.11 \pm 0.01 ({\rm stat}) \pm 0.01 ({\rm syst}) ,$$ $${\cal B}(Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{0}η^{\prime})/{\cal B}(Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{-}π^{+}) = 0.08 \pm 0.02 ({\rm stat}) \pm 0.01 ({\rm syst}) $$ for the first time, where the uncertainties are statistical ($\rm stat$) and systematic ($\rm syst$). By multiplying by the branching fraction of the normalization mode, ${\mathcal B}(Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{-}π^{+})$, we obtain the following absolute branching fraction results $(6.9 \pm 0.3 ({\rm stat}) \pm 0.5 ({\rm syst}) \pm 1.3 ({\rm norm})) \times 10^{-3}$, $(1.6 \pm 0.2 ({\rm stat}) \pm 0.2 ({\rm syst}) \pm 0.3 ({\rm norm})) \times 10^{-3}$, and $(1.2 \pm 0.3 ({\rm stat}) \pm 0.1 ({\rm syst}) \pm 0.2 ({\rm norm})) \times 10^{-3}$, for $Ξ_{c}^{0}$ decays to $Ξ^{0}π^{0}$, $Ξ^{0}η$, and $Ξ^{0}η^{\prime}$ final states, respectively. The third errors are from the uncertainty on ${\mathcal B}(Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{-}π^{+})$. The asymmetry parameter for $Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{0}π^{0}$ is measured to be $α(Ξ_{c}^{0}\toΞ^{0}π^{0}) = -0.90\pm0.15({\rm stat})\pm0.23({\rm syst})$.

In this work, we calculated the form factors of the weak decay process $Λ_b^0 \to Λ_c(2595)^+$, where the final charm baryon represents an excited state with spin-parity $\frac{1}{2}^-$. Utilizing the light-cone QCD sum rules approach, we incorporated the contributions of the lowest two charm baryon states: the ground state $Λ_c$ with $J^P=\frac{1}{2}^+$ and the excited state $Λ_c(2595)^+$ with $J^P=\frac{1}{2}^-$ in the hadronic representation of the $Λ_b$ to $Λ_c(2595)$ transition correlation function. This approach allowes us to extract the form factors of the $Λ_b^0 \to Λ_c(2595)^+$ from $Λ_b^0 \to Λ_c^+$ transition. During the light-cone QCD sum rules procedure, we employed the light-cone distribution amplitudes (LCDAs) of the $Λ_b$ baryon. Furthermore, by combining these form factors with the helicity amplitudes of the bottom baryon transition matrix elements, we calculated the differential decay widths for the processes $Λ_b^0 \to Λ_c(2595)^+\ell^-\barν_\ell$. Additionally, within the lifetime of $Λ_b^0$, we obtained the absolute branching fractions for the semileptonic decays $Λ_b^0 \to Λ_c(2595)^+ \ell^- \barν_\ell$. With the branching fractions of $Λ_b^0 \to Λ_c(2595)^+ \ell^- \barν_\ell$ calculated in this work, we also determined the parameter $\mathcal{R}(Λ_c(2595)^+)$ which tests the lepton flavor universality. This parameter is defined as the ratio of branching fractions $\mathcal{B}r(Λ_b^0 \to Λ_c(2595)^+τ^-\barν_τ)$ and $\mathcal{B}r(Λ_b^0 \to Λ_c(2595)^+μ^-\barν_μ)$. Our results provide a valuable theoretical test for these decay channels and offer insights into the LCDAs of bottom baryons, paving the way for further in-depth investigations.

We explore the bound neutrons decay into invisible particles (e.g., $n\rightarrow 3 ν$ or $nn \rightarrow 2 ν$) in the JUNO liquid scintillator detector. The invisible decay includes two decay modes: $ n \rightarrow { inv} $ and $ nn \rightarrow { inv} $. The invisible decays of $s$-shell neutrons in $^{12}{\rm C}$ will leave a highly excited residual nucleus. Subsequently, some de-excitation modes of the excited residual nuclei can produce a time- and space-correlated triple coincidence signal in the JUNO detector. Based on a full Monte Carlo simulation informed with the latest available data, we estimate all backgrounds, including inverse beta decay events of the reactor antineutrino $\barν_e$, natural radioactivity, cosmogenic isotopes and neutral current interactions of atmospheric neutrinos. Pulse shape discrimination and multivariate analysis techniques are employed to further suppress backgrounds. With two years of exposure, JUNO is expected to give an order of magnitude improvement compared to the current best limits. After 10 years of data taking, the JUNO expected sensitivities at a 90% confidence level are $τ/B( n \rightarrow { inv} ) > 5.0 \times 10^{31} \, {\rm yr}$ and $τ/B( nn \rightarrow { inv} ) > 1.4 \times 10^{32} \, {\rm yr}$.

We analyze atmospheric muon neutrinos that traverse the Earth with energies ranging from 0.5 to 100 TeV, incorporating significant improvements in modeling neutrino flux and detector response compared to earlier studies. Notably, for the first time, we categorize data into starting and through-going events, distinguishing neutrino interactions with vertices inside or outside the instrumented volume, to improve energy resolution. The best-fit point for a 3+1 model is found to be at $\sin^2(2θ_{24}) = 0.16$ and $Δm^{2}_{41} = 3.5$ eV$^2$, which agrees with previous iterations of this study. Ninety gravitational wave events have been detected by the LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA network and are released in the Gravitational-Wave Transient Catalog. Among these events, 83 cases are definitely binary black hole mergers since the masses of all the objects involved significantly exceed the upper limit of neutron stars. The black holes in these merger events naturally form two interesting samples, a pre-merger sample that includes all the black holes before the mergers and a post-merger sample that consists of the black holes generated during the merging processes. The former represents black holes that once existed in the Universe, while the latter represents newly born black holes. Here we present a statistical analysis on these two samples. The non-parametric $τ$ statistic method is adopted to correct for the observational selection effect. The Lynden-Bell's $C^{-}$ method is further applied to derive the mass distribution and density function of black holes. It is found that the mass distribution can be expressed as a broken power-law function. More interestingly, the power-law index in the high mass region is comparable for the two samples. The number density of black holes is found to depend on redshift as $ρ(z) \propto z^{-2.06}$-$z^{-2.12}$ based on the two samples. Implications of these findings on the origin of black holes are discussed.

With advancements leading to the next-generation EHT, there is potential to probe even deeper into the black hole's dark region, especially the inner shadow characterized by low-intensity foreground emissions from the jet, thanks to a significant enhancement in dynamic range by two orders of magnitude. We demonstrate how such enhanced observations could transform supermassive black holes into powerful probes for detecting annihilating dark matter, which can form a dense profile in the vicinity of supermassive black holes, by examining the morphology of the black hole image.

We study Sp(2$N_c$) gauge dynamics with two Dirac fermion flavours in the fundamental representation. These strongly coupled systems underlie some composite Higgs models with a global symmetry breaking pattern SU(4)$\rightarrow$Sp(4), leading to a light quartet of pseudo-Goldstone bosons that can play the role of the Higgs. Including four-fermion interactions can rotate the vacuum to a technicolour breaking pattern. Using gauge/gravity duality, we study the underlying gauge dynamics. Our model incorporates the $N_c$-specific running of the fermion anomalous dimension and can thus distinguish between specific gauge groups. We determine the bound-state spectrum of the UV SU(4)$\rightarrow$Sp(4) symmetry breaking model, also including fermion masses and mass splitting, and display the $N_c$ dependence. The inclusion of a four-fermion interaction shows the emergence of three Goldstone bosons on the path to technicolour dynamics.

We present the first results of the search for sub-MeV fermionic dark matter absorbed by electron targets of Germanium using the 205.4~kg$\cdot$day data collected by the CDEX-10 experiment, with the analysis threshold of 160~eVee. No significant dark matter (DM) signals over the background are observed. Results are presented as limits on the cross section of DM--electron interaction. We present new constraints of cross section in the DM range of 0.1--10 keV/$c^2$ for vector and axial-vector interaction. The upper limit on the cross section is set to be $\rm 5.5\times10^{-46}~cm^2$ for vector interaction, and $\rm 1.8\times10^{-46}~cm^2$ for axial-vector interaction at DM mass of 5 keV/$c^2$.

The recent detection of gravitational waves from a binary merger involving a potential low-mass gap black hole (LMBH) by LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA (LVK) Collaboration motivates investigations into mechanisms beyond conventional stellar evolution theories to account for their existence. We study a mechanism in which dark matter (DM), through its capture and accumulation inside main sequence stars, induces the formation of black holes within the mass range of $[3, 5]M_\odot$. We examine the distribution of these LMBHs as a function of galaxy halo mass, particularly when paired with neutron stars. This gives a distinct signature that can be tested with future gravitational wave observations. We find that a viable portion of the DM parameter space predicts a merger rate of such binaries consistent with LVK observations.

Semileptonic three-body $D \to A\ell^+ν_\ell$ decays, nonleptonic $A \to VP$ decays and semileptonic four-body $D \to A(A \to VP)\ell^+ν_\ell$ strong or electromagnetic decays are analyzed by the SU(3) flavor symmetry/breaking approach, where $A$ denotes the axial-vector meson, $V$ denotes the vector meson, and $P$ denotes pseudoscalar meson. In terms of the SU(3) flavor symmetry/breaking, the decay amplitudes of the $D \to A \ell^+ ν_\ell$ decays or the vertex coefficients of the $A \to VP$ decays are related. The relevant nonperturbative parameters are constrained by the present experimental data. Then the branching ratios of the $D \to A \ell^+ ν_\ell $, $A \to VP$ and $D\to A(A\to VP)\ell^+ν_\ell$ decays are predicted by the constrained parameters. We find that some branching ratios are large and they might be measured in the near future experiments. Moreover, the sensitivities of the branching ratios of $D \to A \ell^+ ν_\ell $ and $A \to VP$ decays to the parameters are also shown, and some decay branching ratios are sensitive to the nonperturbative parameters.

We examine the descent via membrane nucleation through a landscape of vacua where the cosmological constant is given by a combination of four-form fluxes. It has been shown that this descent can be slowed exponentially for very low curvature vacua close to Minkowski space in a wide class of models satisfying certain parametric conditions, providing a possible solution to the cosmological constant problem. We explore in detail whether or not those parametric conditions are compatible with the membrane weak gravity conjecture. Whilst it is true that there is often tension, we show that this is not always the case and present an explicit model where Minkowski space is absolutely stable and the weak gravity conjecture is satisfied. This corresponds to an extension of the Bousso-Polchinski model into a generalised DBI action for four-forms. We also clarify how the landscape should be populated in a consistent model.

There is a novel concept that detecting $χ$ from evaporating primordial black holes (PBHs). We search for $χ$ emitted from PBHs by investigating their interaction with target electrons. The examined PBH masses range from 1$\times$10$^{15}$ to 7$\times$10$^{16}$ g under the current limits of PBH abundance $f_{PBH}$. Using 205.4 kg$\cdot$day data obtained from the CDEX-10 experiment conducted in the China **** Underground Laboratory, we exclude the $χ$--electron ($χ$--$e$) elastic-scattering cross section $σ_{χe} \sim 5\times10^{-29}$ cm$^2$ for $χ$ with a mass $m_χ\lesssim$ 0.1 keV from our results. If ($m_χ$, $σ_{χe}$) can be determined in the future, DD experiments are expected to impose strong constraints on $f_{PBH}$ for large $M_{PBH}$s.

We solve the coupled Dyson-Schwinger equations for quark propagator and quark gluon vertex in the Nambu-Gorkov basis which is widely applied to study the color superconductivity. After considering the non-Abelian feature in the off-diagonal part of quark gluon vertex, we acquire a quark pairing gap in chiral limit above the chiral phase transition temperature $T_c$. The gap persists up to $2-3\,T_c$ and vanishes at higher temperature. Such a quark pairing characterizes the strongly coupled quark gluon plasma phase as a new phase and distinct from the phase with quasi quarks and gluons. Its new features can be disclosed in the heavy ion collision experiments.

We then predict non-measured branching ratios of the $B\to D^*P\ell^+ν_\ell$ decays with the non-resonant and the charmed resonant contributions by using present experimental data of the $B\to D^*P\ell'^+ν_{\ell'}~(\ell'=e,μ)$ decays within $2σ$ errors. We have found that $B^{0,+}\to D^*η\ell^+ν_\ell$, $B^{0,+}\to D^*η'\ell^+ν_\ell$, $B^{0}_s\to D^*_s η\ell^+ν_\ell$, $B^{0}_s\to D^*_sη'\ell^+ν_\ell$ and $B^{0,+}\to D^{*}_sK\ell^+ν_\ell$ decays only receive non-resonant contributions. Decays $B^0_s\to D_s^{*-}π^0\ell^+ν_\ell$ only receive the $D'_{s1}$ resonant contributions. Other decays receive all three kinds of contributions, and three kinds of contributions are important in most of decays.

We report a first study of the semileptonic decay $D^0\rightarrow K^-π^0μ^{+}ν_μ$ by analyzing an $e^+e^-$ annihilation data sample of $7.9~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ collected at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector. The absolute branching fraction of $D^0\to K^-π^0μ^{+}ν_μ$ is measured for the first time to be $(0.729 \pm 0.014_{\rm stat} \pm 0.011_{\rm syst})\%$. Based on an amplitude analysis, the $S\text{-}{\rm wave}$ contribution is determined to be $(5.76 \pm 0.35_{\rm stat} \pm 0.29_{\rm syst})\%$ of the total decay rate in addition to the dominated $K^{*}(892)^-$ component. The branching fraction of $D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-μ^+ν_μ$ is given to be $(2.062 \pm 0.039_{\rm stat} \pm 0.032_{\rm syst})\%$, which improves the precision of the world average by a factor of 5. Combining with the world average of ${\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-e^+ν_e)$, the ratio of the branching fractions obtained is $\frac{{\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-μ^+ν_μ)}{{\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-e^+ν_e)} = 0.96\pm0.08$, in agreement with lepton flavor universality. Furthermore, assuming single-pole dominance parameterization, the most precise hadronic form factor ratios for $D^0\to K^{*}(892)^{-} μ^+ν_μ$ are extracted to be $r_{V}=V(0)/A_1(0)=1.37 \pm 0.09_{\rm stat} \pm 0.03_{\rm syst}$ and $r_{2}=A_2(0)/A_1(0)=0.76 \pm 0.06_{\rm stat} \pm 0.02_{\rm syst}$.

The shape phase transition for certain isotope or isotone chains, associated with the quantum phase transition of finite nuclei, is an intriguing phenomenon in nuclear physics. A notable case is the Xe isotope chain, where the structure transits from a $γ$-soft rotor to a spherical vibrator, with the second-order shape phase transition occurring in the vicinity of $^{128-130}$Xe. In this letter, we focus on investigating the $γ$-soft deformation of $^{129}$Xe associated with the second-order shape phase transition by constructing novel correlators for ultra-relativistic $^{129}$Xe+$^{129}$Xe collisions. In particular, our iEBE-VISHNU model calculations show that the $v_2^2-[p_T]$ correlation $ρ_{2}$ and the mean transverse momentum fluctuation $Γ_{p_T}$, which were previously interpreted as the evidence for the rigid triaxial deformation of $^{129}$Xe, can also be well explained by the $γ$-soft deformation of $^{129}$Xe. We also propose two novel correlators $ρ_{4,2}$ and $ρ_{2,4}$, which carry non-trivial higher-order correlations and show unique capabilities to distinguish between the $γ$-soft and the rigid triaxial deformation of $^{129}$Xe in $^{129}$Xe+$^{129}$Xe collisions at the LHC. The present study also provides a novel way to explore the second-order shape phase transition of finite nuclei with ultra-relativistic heavy ion collisions.

In this work, we investigate a coordinate space structure function ${\cal E}(z^2m^2,λ)$ in the 2D $U(N)$ Gross-Neveu model to the next-to-leading order in the large-$N$ expansion. We analytically perform the twist expansion in the Bjorken limit through double Mellin representations. Hard and non-perturbative scaling functions are naturally generated in their Borel representations with detailed enumerations and explicit expressions provided to all powers. The renormalon cancellation at $t=n$ between the hard functions at powers $p$ and the non-perturbative functions at powers $p+n$ are explicitly verified, and the issue of ``scale-dependency'' of the perturbative and non-perturbative functions is explained naturally. Simple expressions for the leading power non-perturbative functions are also provided both in the coordinate space and the momentum-fraction space ($0<α<1$) with ``zero-mode-type'' subtractions at $α=0$ discussed in detail. In addition to the Bjorken limit, we also perform the threshold expansion of the structure function up to the next-to-next-to-leading threshold power exactly and investigate the resurgence relation between threshold and ``Regge'' asymptotics. We also prove that the twist expansion is absolutely convergent for any $0<z^2<\infty$ and any $ λ\in iR_{\ge 0}$.

We employ the light-front wave functions of the proton from a light-front quantized Hamiltonian in the valence Fock sector consisting of a three-dimensional confinement potential and a one-gluon exchange interaction with fixed coupling. We find that the qualitative behaviors of our GPDs are similar to those of other theoretical calculations. We further examine the GPDs within the boost-invariant longitudinal coordinate, $σ=\frac{1}{2} b^- P^+$, which is identified as the Fourier conjugate of the skewness. The GPDs in the $σ$-space show diffraction patterns, which are akin to the diffractive scattering of a wave in optics.

We study the charmed meson and baryon production and elliptic flow in ultra-relativistic nucleus-nucleus collisions at the LHC energies. The space-time evolution of quark-gluon plasma (QGP) produced in these energetic collisions is obtained via the (3+1)-dimensional CLVisc hydrodynamics model, the heavy quark dynamics inside the QGP is simulated using an improved Langevin model that incorporates both elastic and inelastic parton energy loss processes, and the heavy quark hadronization is simulated utilizing a comprehensive coalescence-fragmentation model. Using our combined approach, we first calculate charmed hadron ratios, $Λ_c/D^0$ and $D_s/D^0$, as well as their elliptic flow ($v_2$) as a function of transverse momentum ($p_T$) for different centralities in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=5.02$~TeV. Due to strangeness enhancement and parton coalescence effects, $D_s/D^0$ and $Λ_c/D^0$ ratios increase from peripheral to central collisions, and such centrality dependence for $Λ_c/D^0$ is stronger than $D_s/D^0$. We further predict the $p_T$ and centrality dependences of charmed hadron chemistry and $v_2$ in smaller Xe+Xe, Ar+Ar and O+O collisions at the LHC energies. Strong centrality and system size dependences for $Λ_c/D^0$ and $D_s/D^0$ ratios are observed across four collision systems. As for charmed hadron flow, both system size and collision geometry are important to understand the centrality dependence of $v_2$ in different collision systems. Our study provides a significant reference for studying heavy quark evolution and hadronizaiton in large and small systems in relativistic nuclear collisions.

Dark photons, aside from constituting non-relativistic dark matter, can also be generated relativistically through the decay or annihilation of other dark matter candidates, contributing to a galactic dark photon background. The production of dark photons tends to favor specific polarization modes, determined by the microscopic coupling between dark matter and dark photons. We leverage data obtained from previous searches for dark photon dark matter using a superconducting radio-frequency cavity to explore galactic dark photon fluxes. The interplay of anisotropic directions and Earth's rotation introduces a diurnal modulation of signals within the cavities, manifesting distinct variation patterns for longitudinal and transverse modes. Our findings highlight the efficacy of superconducting radio-frequency cavities, characterized by significantly high-quality factors, as powerful telescopes for detecting galactic dark photons, unveiling a novel avenue in the indirect search for dark matter through multi-messenger astronomy.

The results of masses, mass shifts, proportions of the $c\bar{c}$ component, and open-charm decay widths are provided. Based on our results, we find that the $ψ(3770)$, $ψ(4040)$, $ψ(4160)$, $ψ(4360)$, and $ψ(4415)$ can be assigned as the $1^3D_1$-, $3^3S_1$-, $2^3D_1$-, $4^3S_1$-, and $3^3D_1$-dominated charmonium states, respectively. The calculated mass and strong decay width of $χ_{c1}(2P)$ with significant continuum contribution ($\sim$57\%) favor the charmonium interpretation for the mysterious $χ_{c1}(3872)$. When considering the large uncertainty in the observed decay width, the possibility to assign the $χ_{c0}(3860)$ as the $χ_{c0}(2P)$ charmonium state cannot be ruled out. One may describe well the properties of $χ_{c2}(3930)$ with the $χ_{c2}(2P)$ charmonium. The predictions on properties of other $c\bar{c}$ states can be tested by future experiments.

In a framework of the SM simply extended by an SU(2) doublet $\left(X,T\right)$ including a vectorlike quark $X$~(VLQ-$X$), with electric charge $|Q_{X}| = 5/3$, we investigate the single production of the VLQ-$X$ induced by the couplings between the VLQ-$X$ with the first and the third generation quarks at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) Run-III and High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) operating at $\sqrt{s}=14$~TeV. The signal is searched in events including same-sign dileptons (electrons or muons), one $b$-tagged jet and missing energy, where the X quark is assumed to decay into a top quark and a W boson, both decaying leptonically. After a rapid simulation of signal and background events, the 95\% CL exclusion limits and the $5σ$ discovery reach are respectively obtained at the 14 TeV LHC with an integrated luminosity of 300 and 3000 fb$^{-1}$, respectively.

The presence of a new exotic decay mode of VLQs will reduce the branching ratios of these standard decay modes and thus relax the current mass exclusion limits from LHC experiments. Based on a model-independent framework, we investigate the prospect of discovering the pair production of the weak-singlet VLQ-$B$ at the future 3-TeV Compact Linear Collider~(CLIC), by focusing on the final states including one $Z$ boson and four $b$-jets via two types of modes: $Z\to \ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ and $Z\to ν\barν$. By performing a rapid detector simulation of the signal and background events, and considering the initial state radiation and beamstrahlung effects, the exclusion limit at the 95\% confidence level and the $5σ$ discovery prospects are respectively obtained on the branching ratio of $B\to bZ$ and the VLQ-$B$ masses at the future 3-TeV CLIC with an integrated luminosity of 5 ab$^{-1}$.

We take the Dyson-Schwinger Equation approach of QCD for the quark propagator at complex chemical potential to study the QCD phase transition. The phase transition line of the $(2+1)$ flavor QCD matter in the imaginary chemical potential region is computed via a simplified truncation scheme, which curvature is found to be consistent with the one at real chemical potential. Moreover, the computation in the complex chemical potential plane allows us to determine the location of the Lee-Yang edge singularities. We show explicitly that the critical end point coincides with the Lee-Yang edge singularities on the real $μ_{B}^{}$ axis. We also investigate the scaling behavior of the singularities and discuss the possibility of extrapolating the CEP from a certain range of chemical potential.

Their decay properties are studied with a simple rearrangement scheme. Based on our results, the lowest $I(J^P)=0(1^+)$ $bb\bar{n}\bar{n}$ state is a stable tetraquark about 20 MeV below the $\bar{B}^*\bar{B}$ threshold. The mass and width of the low-mass $0(1^+)$ $cc\bar{n}\bar{n}$ ($n=u,d$) tetraquark are compatible with the $T_{cc}(3875)^+$ observed by the LHCb Collaboration. The location of the lowest $0(0^+)$ and $0(1^+)$ $bc\bar{n}\bar{n}$ states are found to be close to the $\bar{B}D$ and $\bar{B}^*D$ thresholds, respectively. We hope that the predicted ratios between partial widths of different channels may be helpful to identify compact tetraquark states from future measurements.

We propose a method to determine the effective potential of QCD from the gap equation, by introducing the homotopy method between the solutions of the equation of motion. Via this method, the effective potential beyond the bare vertex approximation is obtained, which then generalizes the Cornwall, Jackiw and Tomboulis (CJT) effective potential for the bilocal composite operators. Moreover, the extended effective potential is set to be a function of self energy instead of the propagator, which is the key point for the potential to be bounded from below. We then investigate the extended effective potential in the cases of phase transition of the QCD vacuum with a small current quark mass, and the first-order phase transition of QCD at finite temperature and high baryon chemical potential. In the former case, the effective potential shows as an inflection point at the critical mass where the multiple solutions of the Dyson-Schwinger equation (DSE) vanishes, which is consistent with that obtained by solving the DSE directly. For the latter case, the in-medium properties, such as the latent heat and the difference of trace anomaly, of QCD is obtained.

We study the accretion of relativistic Vlasov gas onto a Kerr black hole, regarding the particles as distributed throughout all the space, other than just in the equatorial plane. We solve the relativistic Liouville equation in the full $3+1$ dimensional framework of Kerr geometry. For the flow that is stationary and axial symmetric, we prove that the distribution function is independent of the conjugate coordinates. For an explicit distribution that can approximate to Maxwell-Jüttner distribution, we further calculate the particle current density, the stress energy momentum tensor and the unit accretion rates of mass, energy and angular momentum. The analytic results at large distance are shown to be consistent with the limits of the numerical ones computed at finite distance. Especially, we show that the unit mass accretion rate agrees with the Schwarzschild result in the case of low temperature limit. Furthermore, we find from the numerical results that the three unit accretion rates vary with the angle in Kerr metric and the accretion of Vlasov gas would slow down the Kerr black hole. The closer to the equator, the faster it slows down the black hole.

In this paper, we show that the common hard kernel of double-log-type or threshold-type factorization for certain space-like parton correlators that arise in the context of lattice parton distributions, the heavy-light Sudakov hard kernel, has linear infrared (IR) renormalon. We explicitly demonstrate how this IR renormalon correlates with ultraviolet (UV) renormalons of next-to-leading power operators in two explicit examples: threshold asymptotics of space-like quark-bilinear coefficient functions and transverse momentum dependent (TMD) factorization of quasi wave function amplitude. Theoretically, the pattern of renormalon cancellation complies with general expectations to marginal asymptotics in the UV limit. Practically, this linear renormalon explains the slow convergence of imaginary parts observed in lattice extraction of the Collins-Soper kernel and signals the relevance of next-to-leading power contributions. Fully factorized, fully controlled threshold asymptotic expansion for space-like quark-bilinear coefficient functions in coordinate and moment space has also been proposed.

We study the QCD equation of state and other thermodynamic observables including the isentropic trajectories and the speed of sound. These observables are of eminent importance for the understanding of experimental results in heavy ion collisions and also provide a QCD input for studies of the timeline of heavy-ion-collisions with hydrodynamical simulations. They can be derived from the quark propagator whose gap equation is solved within a minimal approximation to the Dyson-Schwinger equations of QCD at finite temperature and density. This minimal approximation aims at a combination of computational efficiency and simplification of the truncation scheme while maintaining quantitative precision. This minimal DSE scheme is confronted and benchmarked with results for correlation functions and observables from first principles QCD lattice at vanishing density and quantitative functional approaches at finite density.

The obtained EoS is consistent with the up-to-date estimations of the QCD phase diagram, including a phase transition temperature at zero chemical potential of $T=155$ MeV, the curvature of the transition line $κ=0.016$ and also a critical end point at $(T,μ_B)=(118, 600)$ MeV. In specific, the phase diagram map** is achieved by incorporating the order parameters into the EoS, namely the dynamical quark mass for the chiral phase transition together with the Polyakov loop parameter for the deconfinement phase transition. We also implement the EoS in hydrodynamic simulations to compute the particle yields, ratios and collective flow, and find that our obtained EoS agrees well with the commonly used one based on the combination of lattice QCD simulation and hadron resonance gas model.

We take the Dyson-Schwinger equation (DSE) approach of QCD to study the phase transition and the equation of state of cold dense matter. Besides the bare vertex and Gauss gluon model, we take into account an improved truncation scheme, the CLRQ vertex and infrared-constant gluon model. For the dynamical chiral symmetry breaking solution of the DSE, we require that the emergence of quark number density to be at the chemical potential for the nuclear liquid-gas phase transition to take place, by incorporating a chemical potential dependent modification factor to the gluon model. The result shows that our modified scheme can not only describe the phase transition of the cold dense matter well but also the deduced equation of state of the matter can describe the recent astronomical observations consistently.

The perspectives we taken into account range from phase transition scenarios, initial temperatures, volume effect, relaxation rates, and evolution trajectories. Our numerical calculations show that the dynamical signal of the first-order phase transition can be reserved in certain conditions. Besides the delaying effects due to a finite relaxation time, a larger initial temperature, a smaller volume, a larger relaxation rate, or bending of the trajectory will lead to reduction of the signal. Our discussions on the criterion offer valuable reference information for the experimental detection of the first-order phase transition signal.

In this work, inspired by recent work on resurgence of 2D integrable QFTs in the UV limit, we investigate the marginal perturbation theory of integrable critical spin chains for the small external field limit $h\rightarrow 0$ of the ground state energy. Starting from the Bethe equation, we generate the perturbative series in a natural running coupling constant and study its renormalon ambiguity/power correction. We found that for $s=\frac{1}{2}$, the perturbative series relates to the $β^2=8π^-$ sine-Gordon bootstrap theory with a sign flip of the coupling constant. On the other hand, for $s>1$, the leading singularity in the Borel plane is located at $t=\frac{1}{s}$ and generates fractional power corrections of the form $h^{\frac{2}{s}}$.

Several pulsar timing array (PTA) experiments such as NANOGrav and PPTA reported evidence of a gravitational wave background at the nano-Hz frequency band recently. This signal can originate from scalar-induced gravitational waves (SIGW) generated by the enhanced curvature perturbation. Here we perform a joint likelihood inference on PTA datasets, and our results show that if the PTA signals were indeed of SIGW origin, the curvature perturbations amplitude required will produce primordial black holes (PBHs) in $[2 \times 10^{-5}, 2 \times 10^{-2}]\ m_\odot$ mass range. Mergers of these PBHs can leave a strong gravitational wave signature in the $[10^{-3}, 10^8]$ Hz frequency range, to be detectable at upcoming interferometers such as the Einstein Telescope, DECIGO and BBO, etc. This offers a multi-frequency opportunity to further scrutinize the source of the observed PTA signal.

Recently a dark matter-electron (DM-electron) paradigm has drawn much attention. Models beyond the standard halo model describing DM accelerated by high energy celestial bodies are under intense examination as well. In this Letter, a velocity components analysis (VCA) method dedicated to swift analysis of accelerated DM-electron interactions via semiconductor detectors is proposed and the first HPGe detector-based accelerated DM-electron analysis is realized. Utilizing the method, the first germanium based constraint on sub-GeV solar reflected DM-electron interaction is presented with the 205.4 kg$\cdot$day dataset from the CDEX-10 experiment. In the heavy mediator scenario, our result excels in the mass range of 5$-$15 keV/$c^2$, achieving a 3 orders of magnitude improvement comparing with previous semiconductor experiments. In the light mediator scenario, the strongest laboratory constraint for DM lighter than 0.1 MeV/$c^2$ is presented. The result proves the feasibility and demonstrates the vast potential of the VCA technique in future accelerated DM-electron analyses with semiconductor detectors.

Electromagnetic resonant systems, such as cavities or LC circuits, have emerged as powerful detectors for probing ultralight boson dark matter and high-frequency gravitational waves. However, the limited resonant bandwidth of conventional single-mode resonators, imposed by quantum fluctuations, necessitates numerous scan steps to cover broad unexplored frequency regions. The incorporation of multiple auxiliary modes can realize a broadband detector while maintaining a substantial signal response. The broadened sensitive width can be on the same order as the resonant frequency, encompassing several orders of the source frequency for heterodyne detection, where a background cavity mode transitions into another. Consequently, our approach enables significantly deeper exploration of the parameter space within the same integration time compared to single-mode detection.
