A minimal non-thermal dark matter model that can explain both the existence of dark matter and the baryon asymmetry in the universe is studied. It requires two color-triplet, iso-singlet scalars with $\mathcal{O}$(TeV) masses and a singlet Majorana fermion with a mass of $\mathcal{O}$(GeV). The fermion becomes stable and can play the role of the dark matter candidate. We consider the fermion to interact with a top quark via the exchange of QCD-charged scalar fields coupled dominantly to third generation fermions. The signature of a single top quark production associated with a bottom quark and large missing transverse momentum opens up the possibility to search for this type of model at the LHC in a way complementary to existing monotop searches.

We perform global fits of the Higgs boson couplings to the full Higgs datasets collected at the LHC with the integrated luminosities per experiment of approximately 5/fb at 7 TeV, 20/fb at 8 TeV, and up to 139/fb at 13 TeV. Our combined analysis based on the experimental signal strengths used in this work and the theoretical ones elaborated for our analysis reliably reproduce the results in the literature. We reveal that the LHC Higgs precision data are no longer best described by the SM Higgs boson taking account of extensive and comprehensive CP-conserving and CP-violating scenarios found in several well-motivated models beyond the SM. Especially, in most of the fits considered in this work, we observe that the best-fitted values of the normalized Yukawa couplings are about $2σ$ below the corresponding SM ones with the $1σ$ errors of 3-5%. On the other hand, the gauge-Higgs couplings are consistent with the SM with the $1σ$ errors of 2-3%. Incidentally, the reduced Yukawa couplings help to explain the excess of the $H\to Zγ$ signal strength of $2.2\pm 0.7$ recently reported by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations.

We analyze the mass spectrum of the charged and neutral Higgs bosons in the framework of two Higgs doublet model (2HDM) in the light of the precision measurement of the $W$ boson mass by the CDF collaboration. We have considered the most general 2HDM potential with explicit CP violation in the Higgs basis which contains the three CP-mixed neutral mass eigenstates $H_1$, $H_2$, and $H_3$ with $M_{H_1}\leq M_{H_2}\leq M_{H_3}$. The high-precision CDF measurement of the $W$ boson mass is characterized by the large positive value of the $T$ parameter. By identifying the lightest neutral Higgs boson $H_1$ as the SM-like one discovered at the LHC, we find that it is necessary to have the mass splitting between the charged Higgs boson $H^\pm$ and the second heaviest neutral one $H_2$ to accommodate the sizable positive deviation of the $T$ parameter from its SM value of $0$. By combining the mass splitting between $H^\pm$ and $H_2$ with the theoretical constraints from the perturbative unitarity and for the Higgs potential to be bounded from below, we implement comprehensive analysis of the mass spectrum of the heavy Higgs bosons taking account of the effects of deviation from the alignment limit and also the mass splitting between $H_3$ and $H_2$. We further analyze the behavior of the heavy-Higgs mass spectrum according to the variation of the $T$ parameter. Finally, concentrating on the heavy mass region $M\equiv (M_{H_2}+M_{H^\pm})/2\gsim 500$ GeV in which we find a mass hierarchy of $M\gg M_{H_1}\sim |Δ| \gsim δ$ with $Δ\equiv M_{H_2}-M_{H^\pm}$ and $δ\equiv M_{H_3}-M_{H_2}$, we discuss some benchmarking scenarios for the searches of heavy Higgs bosons at future colliders such as the high luminosity option of the LHC and a 100 TeV hadron collider.

In contrast to the $e \leftrightarrow μ$ CLFV transition for which very stringent limits exist, there is still a relatively large discovery space for the $e \to τ$ CLFV transition, potentially to be explored by the EIC. With the latest detector design of ECCE (EIC Comprehensive Chromodynamics Experiment) and projected integral luminosity of the EIC, we find the $τ$-leptons created in the DIS process $ep\to τX$ are expected to be identified with high efficiency. A first ECCE simulation study, restricted to the 3-prong $τ$-decay mode and with limited statistics for the Standard Model backgrounds, estimates that the EIC will be able to improve the current exclusion limit on $e\to τ$ CLFV by an order of magnitude.

The Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) element $V_{ts}$, representing the coupling between the top and strange quarks, is currently best determined through fits based on the unitarity of the CKM matrix, and measured indirectly through box-diagram oscillations, and loop-mediated rare decays of the $B$ or $K$ mesons. It has been previously proposed to use the tree level decay of the $t$ quark to the $s$ quark to determine $|V_{ts}|$ at the LHC, which has become a top factory. In this paper, we extend the proposal by performing a detailed analysis of measuring $t \to sW$ in dileptonic $t\bar{t}$ events. In particular, we perform detector response simulation, including the reconstruction of $K_S$, which are used for tagging jets produced by $s$ quarks against the dominant $t \to bW$ decay. We show that it should be possible to exclude $|V_{ts}| = 0$ at 6.0$σ$ with the expected High Luminosity LHC luminosity of 3000 fb$^{-1}$.

We implement a comprehensive and detailed study of the alignment of Yukawa couplings in the so-called Higgs basis taking the framework of general two Higgs doublet models (2HDMs). We clarify the model input parameters and derive the Yukawa couplings considering the two types of CP-violating sources: one from the Higgs potential and the other from the three complex alignment parameters $ζ_{f=u,d,e}$. We consider the theoretical constraints from the perturbative unitarity and for the Higgs potential to be bounded from below as well as the experimental ones from electroweak precision observables. Also considered are the constraints on the alignment parameters from flavor-changing $τ$ decays, $Z\to b\bar b$, $ε_K$, and the radiative $b\to sγ$ decay. By introducing the basis-independent Yukawa delay factor $Δ_{H_1\bar f f}\equiv |ζ_{f}|(1-g_{_{H_1VV}}^2)^{1/2}$, we scrutinize the alignment of the Yukawa couplings of the lightest Higgs boson to the SM fermions.

We summarize the theoretical predictions for the decay widths of the SM Higgs boson and those of Higgs bosons appearing in its extensions taking account of all possible decay modes. We incorporate them to study and analyze decay patterns of CP-even, CP-odd, and CP-mixed neutral Higgs bosons and charged ones. We put special focus on the properties of a neutral Higgs boson with mass about 125 GeV discovered at the LHC and present constraints obtained from precision analysis of it. This review is intended to be self-contained and consolidated by coherently integrating relevant physics information for studying decays of Higgs bosons in the SM and beyond.

In high-energy particle physics events, it can be advantageous to find the jets associated with the decays of intermediate states, for example, the three jets produced by the hadronic decay of the top quark. Typically, a goodness-of-association measure, such as a $χ^2$ related to the mass of the associated jets, is constructed, and the best jet combination is found by optimizing this measure. As this process suffers from a combinatorial explosion with the number of jets, the number of permutations is limited by using only the $n$ highest $p_T$ jets. The self-attention block is a neural network unit used for the neural machine translation problem, which can highlight relationships between any number of inputs in a single iteration without permutations. In this paper, we introduce the Self-Attention for Jet Assignment (SaJa) network. SaJa can take any number of jets for input and outputs probabilities of jet-parton assignment for all jets in a single step. We apply SaJa to find jet-parton assignments of fully-hadronic $t\bar{t}$ events to evaluate the performance. We show that SaJa achieves better performance than a likelihood-based approach.

Deep learning techniques are currently being investigated for high energy physics experiments, to tackle a wide range of problems, with quark and gluon discrimination becoming a benchmark for new algorithms.
One weakness is the traditional reliance on Monte Carlo simulations, which may not be well modelled at the detail required by deep learning algorithms.
The weakly supervised learning paradigm gives an alternate route to classification, by using samples with different quark--gluon proportions instead of fully labeled samples.
The paradigm has, therefore, huge potential for particle physics classification problems as these weakly supervised learning methods can be applied directly to collision data.
In this study, we show that realistically simulated samples of dijet and Z+jet events can be used to discriminate between quark and gluon jets by using weakly supervised learning.
We implement and compare the performance of weakly supervised learning for quark--gluon jet classification using three different machine learning methods: the jet image-based convolutional neural network, the particle-based recurrent neural network and the feature-based boosted decision tree.

We study the alignment of Yukawa couplings in the framework of general two Higgs doublet models (2HDMs) considering a scenario in which the lightest neutral Higgs boson is purely CP even while the two heavier neutral Higgs bosons are allowed to mix in the presence of nontrivial CP-violating phases in the Higgs potential. Identifying the lightest neutral Higgs boson as the 125 GeV one discovered at the LHC, we find that the alignment of Yukawa couplings without decoupling could be easily achieved in the type-I 2HDM with no much conflict with the current LHC Higgs precision data. Otherwise, we observe that the Yukawa couplings of the lightest Higgs boson could decouple much slowly compared to the Higgs coupling to a pair of massive vector bosons and they significantly deviate from the corresponding SM values even when the deviation of the Higgs to vector boson coupling is below the percent level. On the other hand, independently of 2HDM type and regardless of decoupling, we find a wrong-sign alignment limit of the Yukawa couplings in which the Yukawa couplings to the down-type quarks and/or those to the charged leptons are equal in strength but opposite in sign to the corresponding SM ones. The magnitude and sign of the up-type quark Yukawa couplings remain the same as in the SM. Accordingly, in this limit, all four types of 2HDMs are viable against the LHC Higgs precision data.

A process for using curvature invariants is applied to evaluate the accelerating Natario warp drive. Curvature invariants are independent of coordinate bases and plotting the invariants is free of coordinate map** distortions. While previous works focus mainly on the mathematical description of the warp bubble, plotting curvature invariants provides a novel pathway to investigate the Natário spacetime and its characteristics. For warp drive spacetimes, there are four independent curvature invariants the Ricci scalar, r_1, r_2, and w_2. The invariant plots demonstrate how each curvature invariant evolves over the parameters of time, acceleration, skin depth and radius of the warp bubble. They show that the Ricci scalar has the greatest impact of the invariants on the surrounding spacetime. They also reveal key features of the Natario warp bubble such as a flat harbor in the center of it, a dynamic wake, and the internal structures of the warp bubble.

Also, for the signal we are the first to adopt the most recent event generator of POWHEG-BOX-V2 to exploit the NLO distributions for Toolkit for Multivariate Data Analysis (TMVA), taking account of the full top--quark mass dependence. Through Boosted Decision Tree (BDT) analysis trained for $λ_{3H}=1$, we find that the significance can reach up to 1.95 with about $9$ signal and $18$ background events. In addition, the Higgs boson self-coupling can be constrained to $1.00 < λ_{3H} < 6.22$ at 95\% confidence level (CL). We also perform a likelihood fitting of $M_{γγbb}$ distribution and find the $1σ$ confidence interval (CI) of $0.1 < λ_{3H} < 2.2\, \cup\,5.4 < λ_{3H} < 6.6$ for the $λ_{3H}=1$ nominal set. On the other hand, using BDTs trained for each value of $λ_{3H}$, we find a bulk region of $0.5 <\sim λ_{3H} <\sim~ 4.5$, for which it is hard to pin down the trilinear coupling.

We suggest an extension with a vector-like quark doublet, of which the right-handed component of $b'$ mixes nonnegligibly with the standard model $b$ quark. We show that the mixing would induce a reduction of the bottom Yukawa coupling.
Simultaneously, the coupling of the $Z$ boson to the right-handed $b$ quark increases, which could reduce the forward-backward asymmetry of bottom production at LEP and bring it closer to the experimental value.

Using recent supernova models, I revisit the Supernova 1987a constraints on scalar/pseudoscalar Axion-Like-Particles (ALPs). On the basis of the neutrino detections, the luminosity of ALPs must be $\lesssim 5\times10^{52} \,\mathrm{erg}/s$ after the core-bounce, and this bound limits ALPs couplings. Contrary to the QCD axion models where all couplings are $\sim 1/f_a$, it has been shown recently that a radion/dilaton could have far different coupling strength to photons and to nucleons. This fact has raised a need to establish the limits on each coupling independently. The bounds from ALPs emission by nucleon-nucleon bremsstrahlung through a two-nucleon coupling and by the Primakoff process through a two-photon coupling are updated considering the total volume emission. I find the bounds on the two-photon coupling from the Primakoff process differ from previous bounds by an order of magnitude. Through the volume emission study, trap** regimes for $m_a\gtrsim10\,\mathrm{MeV}$ are also alleviated, which need to be probed by future experiments.

We find that even for the most promising channel $HH \to b\bar{b}γγ$ at the HL-LHC with a luminosity of 3000 fb$^{-1}$, the significance is still not high enough to establish the Higgs self-coupling at the standard model (SM) value. Instead, we can only constrain the self-coupling to $-1.0 < λ_{3H} < 7.6 $ at $ 95\% $ confidence level after considering the uncertainties associated with the top-Yukawa coupling and the estimation of backgrounds. Here we also extend the study to the HL-100 TeV hadron collider. With a luminosity of 3 ab$^{-1}$, we find there exists a bulk region of $2.6 \lsim λ_{3H} \lsim 4.8 $ in which one cannot pin down the trilinear coupling. Otherwise one can measure the coupling with a high precision. At the SM value, for example, we show that the coupling can be measured with about 20 \% accuracy. While assuming 30 ab$^{-1}$, the bulk region reduces to $3.1 \lsim λ_{3H} \lsim 4.3$ and the trilinear coupling can be measured with about 7 \% accuracy at the SM value. With all the simulated background events and results, our study can be useful to probe the Higgs potential of various models with extended Higgs sector, such as two-Higgs-doublet model, MSSM, etc.

Here in this work we attempt to probe the CP-even and CP-odd couplings of the heavy Higgs boson to a pair of top quarks, through the decay $H \to t\bar t \to b W^+ \bar b W^-$. We use the helicity-amplitude method to write down the most general form for the angular distributions of the final-state $b$ quarks and $W$ bosons. We figure out that there are 6 types of angular observables and, under CP$\widetilde{\rm T}$ conservation, one-dimensional angular distributions can only reveal two of them. Nevertheless, the $H$ couplings to the
$t\bar t$ pair can be fully determined by exploiting the one-dimensional angular distributions. A Higgs-boson mass of 380 GeV not too far above the $t\bar t$ threshold is illustrated with full details. With a total of $10^4$ events of $H \to t\bar t \to bW^+ \bar b W^+$, one can determine the couplings up to 10-20 % uncertainties.

Compared with axion-like particles in this mass range, the bounds from SN 1987a and from cosmology can be much weaker, depending on the the mass of the radion and its coupling to other particles. With couplings suppressed by a scale lower than 100 TeV much of the mass window from 100 keV to 10 GeV is still open.

In this work, we perform a complete Higgs-signal strength analysis in the Higgs-portal type framework, using all the existing 125 GeV Higgs boson data as well as the diphoton signal strength of the 750 GeV scalar boson. The best fit prefers a very tiny mixing between two scalar bosons, which has to be accommodated in models for the 750 GeV scalar boson.

Although, at the current stage, there is no obvious indication whether the excess is real or due to statistical fluctuations, here we perform a case study of this mild excess by exploiting the strong entanglement between the associated Higgs production with a single top quark ($thX$) and $t\bar t h$ production in the presence of anomalous top-Yukawa coupling. As well known, $t\bar t h$ production only depends on the absolute value of the top-Yukawa coupling. Meanwhile, in $thX$ production, this degeneracy is lifted through the strong interference between the two main contributions which are proportional to the top-Yukawa and the gauge-Higgs couplings, respectively. Especially, when the relative sign of the top-Yukawa coupling with respect to the gauge-Higgs coupling is reversed, the $thX$ cross section can be enhanced by more than one order of magnitude. We perform a detailed study of the influence of $thX$ production on $t\bar{t}h $ production in the presence of the anomalous top-Yukawa coupling and point out that it is crucial to include $thX$ production in the analysis of the $t\bar t h$ data to pin down the sign and the size of the top-Yukawa coupling in future. While assuming the Standard Model (SM) value for the gauge-Higgs coupling, we vary the top-Yukawa coupling within the range allowed by the current LHC Higgs data. We consider the Higgs decay modes into multileptons, $b\bar b$ and $γγ$ putting a particular emphasis on the same sign dilepton events. We also discuss ...

We introduce and explore new heavy Higgs scenarios in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with explicit CP violation, which have important phenomenological implications that may be testable at the LHC. For soft supersymmetry-breaking scales M_S above a few TeV and a charged Higgs boson mass M_H+ above a few hundred GeV, new physics effects including those from explicit CP violation decouple from the light Higgs boson sector. However, such effects can significantly alter the phenomenology of the heavy Higgs bosons while still being consistent with constraints from low-energy observables, for instance electric dipole moments. To consider scenarios with a charged Higgs boson much heavier than the Standard Model (SM) particles but much lighter than the supersymmetric particles, we revisit previous calculations of the MSSM Higgs sector. We compute the Higgs boson masses in the presence of CP violating phases, implementing improved matching and renormalization group (RG) effects, as well as two-loop RG effects from the effective two-Higgs Doublet Model (2HDM) scale M_H+ to the scale M_S. We illustrate the possibility of non-decoupling CP-violating effects in the heavy Higgs sector using new benchmark scenarios named CPX4LHC.

We study the associated production of a charged Higgs boson with a bottom quark and a light quark at the LHC via p p \to H^\pm\,b\,j in the Two Higgs Doublet Models (2HDMs). Using the effective W approximation, we show that there is exact cancellation among various Feynman diagrams in high energy limit. This may imply that the production of charged Higgs can be significantly enhanced in the presence of large mass differences among the neutral Higgs bosons via W^\pm-Higgs fusion in the p p \to H^\pm\,b\,j process. Particularly, we emphasize the potential enhancement due to a light pseudoscalar boson $A$, which is still allowed by the current data by which we explicitly calculate the allowed regions in (M_A,\,\tanβ) plane, and show that the production cross section can be as large as 0.1 pb for large $\tanβ$. We also show that the transverse momentum distribution of the b quark can potentially distinguish the W^\pm-A fusion diagram from the top diagram. Finally, we point out further enhancement when we go beyond the 2HDMs.

In these models, the flavour changing decays arise at loop-level but, originating from a dimension-four operator, do not decouple and may provide a first sign of new physics for heavy masses beyond collider reach. In the framework of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (MSSM), we find that the largest branching ratio of the lightest Higgs ($H_1$) is ${\cal O}(10^{-6})$ after imposing present experimental constraints. While heavy Higgs states may still present branching ratios ${\cal O}(10^{-3})$. In a more general supersymmetric scenario, where additional Higgs states may modify the Higgs mixings, the branching ratio BR($H_1 \to b s$) can reach values ${\cal O}(10^{-4})$ , while heavy Higgses still remain at ${\cal O}(10^{-3})$. Although these values are clearly out of reach for the LHC, a full study in a linear collider environment could be worth pursuing.

In a number of Higgs-portal models, an $SU(2)$ isospin-singlet scalar boson generically appears at the electroweak scale and can mix with the Standard Model (SM) Higgs boson with a mixing angle $α$. This singlet scalar boson can have renormalizable couplings to a pair of dark matter particles, vectorlike leptons or quarks, or new gauge bosons, thereby modifying the Higgs signal strengths in a nontrivial way. In this work, we perform global fits to such models using the most updated LHC Higgs-boson data and discuss the corresponding implications on Higgs-portal-type models. In particular we find that the current LHC Higgs-boson data slightly favors the SM over the Higgs-portal singlet-scalar models, which has to be further examined using the upcoming LHC Higgs-boson data. Finally the Higgs-portal models are constrained as follows: $\cosα\gtrsim 0.86$ and $ΔΓ_{\rm tot} \lesssim 1.9$ MeV at 95 \% CL.

Higgs-boson pair production is well known being capable to probe the trilinear self-coupling of the Higgs boson, which is one of the important ingredients of the Higgs sector itself. Pair production then depends on the top-quark Yukawa coupling $g_t^{S,P}$, Higgs trilinear coupling $λ_{3H}$, and a possible dim-5 contact-type $ttHH$ coupling $g_{tt}^{S,P}$, which may appear in some higher representations of the Higgs sector. We take into account the possibility that the top-Yukawa and the $ttHH$ couplings involved can be CP violating. We calculate the cross sections and the interference terms as coefficients of the square or the 4th power of each coupling $(g_t^{S,P}, λ_{3H}, g_{tt}^{S,P})$ at various stages of cuts, such that the desired cross section under various cuts can be obtained by simply inputing the couplings. We employ the $H H \to γγb \bar b$ decay mode of the Higgs-boson pair to investigate the possibility of disentangle the triangle diagram from the box digram so as to have a clean probe of the trilinear coupling at the LHC. We found that the angular separation between the $b$ and $\bar b$ and that between the two photons is useful. We obtain the sensitivity reach of each pair of couplings at the 14 TeV LHC and the future 100 TeV pp machine. Finally, we also comment on using the $b\bar b τ^+ τ^-$ decay mode in Appendix.

In light of this, we study a scenario characterized by two scales: the SUSY breaking scale or the squark-mass scale $(M_S)$ and the heavy Higgs-boson mass scale $(M_A)$.We perform a survey of the MSSM parameter space with $M_S < 10^{10}$ GeV and $M_A < 10^4$ GeV such that the lightest Higgs boson mass is within the range of the observed Higgs boson as well as satisfying a number of constraints. The set of constraints include the invisible decay width of the $Z$ boson and that of the Higgs boson, the chargino-mass limit, dark matter relic abundance from Planck, the spin-independent cross section of direct detection by LUX, and gamma-ray flux from dwarf spheroidal galaxies and gamma-ray line constraints measured by Fermi LAT. Survived regions of parameter space feature the dark matter with correct relic abundance, which is achieved through either coannihilation with charginos, $A/H$ funnels, or both. We show that future measurements, e.g., XENON1T and LZ, of spin-independent cross sections can further squeeze the parameter space.

We use the full data set of proton-antiproton collisions collected by the Collider Detector at Fermilab experiment and corresponding to $9.7$~fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity. The strong-interaction decay $D^{*+}\to D^0π^+$ is used to identify the meson at production as $D^0$ or $\overline{D}^0$. We statistically subtract $D^0$ and $\overline{D}^0$ mesons originating from $b$-hadron decays and measure the yield asymmetry between anticharm and charm decays as a function of decay time. We measure $A_Γ(K^+K^-) = (-0.19 \pm 0.15 (stat) \pm 0.04 (syst))\%$ and $A_Γ(π^+π^-)= (-0.01 \pm 0.18 (stat) \pm 0.03 (syst))\%$. The results are consistent with the hypothesis of CP symmetry and their combination yields $A_Γ= (-0.12 \pm 0.12)\%$.

During the 2014 Summer Conferences, both ATLAS and CMS Collaborations of the LHC experiments have demonstrated tremendous efforts in treatment of data and processing more data such that most data on signal strengths have improved; especially the diphoton and fermionic modes of both experiments. Here in this note we perform an update to our previous model-independent Higgs precision analysis -- Higgcision. We found the followings: (i) the uncertainties on most couplings shrink about 10--20%, (ii) the nonstandard (e.g. invisible) decay branching ratio of the Higgs boson is constrained to be less than 19% if only the width is allowed to vary, (iii) the gauge-Higgs coupling C_v is constrained to be 0.94 +0.11 -0.12, in which the uncertainty is reduced by about 10%, and (iv) the standard model (SM) Higgs boson still provides the best fit to all the Higgs boson data, and compared to the previous results the SM Higgs boson now enjoys a higher p value than the last year.

Abstract:
Current data on the signal strengths and angular spectrum of the 125.5 GeV Higgs boson still allow a CP-mixed state, namely, the pseudoscalar coupling to the top quark can be as sizable as the scalar coupling: $C_u^S \approx C_u^P =1/2$. CP violation can then arise and manifest in sizable electric dipole moments (EDMs). In the framework of two-Higgs-doublet models, we not only update the Higgs precision (Higgcision) study on the couplings with the most updated Higgs signal strength data, but also compute all the Higgs-mediated contributions from the 125.5 GeV Higgs boson to the EDMs, and confront the allowed parameter space against the existing constraints from the EDM measurements of Thallium, neutron, Mercury, and Thorium monoxide. We found that the combined EDM constraints restrict the pseudoscalar coupling to be less than about $10^{-2}$, unless there are contributions from other Higgs bosons, supersymmetric particles, or other exotic particles that delicately cancel the current Higgs-mediated contributions.

Associated production of the Higgs boson with a single top quark proceeds through Feynman diagrams, which are either proportional to the hWW, top-Yukawa, or the bottom-Yukawa couplings. It was shown in literature that the interference between the top-Yukawa and the gauge-Higgs diagrams can be significant, and thus the measurement of the cross sections can help pin down the sign and the size of the top-Yukawa coupling. Here we perform a detailed study with full detector simulations of such a possibility at the LHC-14 within the current allowed range of hWW and top-Yukawa couplings, using h-> b b-bar, γγ, τ+ τ-, ZZ* -> 4 l modes. We found that the LHC-14 has the potential to distinguish the size and the sign of the top-Yukawa coupling. Among the channels the h-> b b-bar mode mode provides the best chance to probe the signal, followed by the h -> γγ mode, which has the advantage of a narrow reconstructed mass peak. We also pointed out that the spatial separation among the final-state particles has the potential in differentiating among various values of the top-Yukawa coupling.

We perform global fits to general two-Higgs doublet models (2HDMs) with generalized couplings using the most updated data from ATLAS, CMS, and Tevatron. We include both scenarios with CP-conserving and CP-violating couplings. By relaxing the requirement on the discrete symmetries that are often imposed on the Yukawa couplings, we try to see which of the 2HDMs is preferred. We found that (i) Higgcision in 2HDMs can be performed efficiently by using only 4 parameters including the charged Higgs contributions to the Higgs couplings to two photons, (ii) the differences among various types of 2HDMs are very small with respect to the chi-square fits, (iii) $\tanβ$ is constrained to be small, (iv) the $p$-values for various fits in 2HDMs are worse than that of the standard model. Finally, we put emphasis on our findings that future precision measurements of the Higgs coupling to the scalar top-quark bilinear ($C_u^S$) and $\tanβ$ may endow us with the discriminating power among various types of 2HDMs especially when $C_u^S$ deviates from its SM value 1.

After the discovery of the Higgs boson at the LHC, it is natural to start the research program on the precision study of the Higgs-boson couplings to various standard model (SM) particles. We provide a generic framework for the deviations of the couplings from their SM values by introducing a number of parameters. We show that a large number of models beyond the SM can be covered, including two-Higgs-doublet models, supersymmetric models, little-Higgs models, extended Higgs sectors with singlets, and fourth generation models. We perform global fits to the most updated data from CMS, ATLAS, and Tevatron under various initial conditions of the parameter set. In particular, we have made explicit comparisons between the fitting results BEFORE and AFTER the Moriond 2013 meetings. Highlights of the results include: (i) the nonstandard decay branching ratio of the Higgs boson is less than 22%; (ii) the most efficient way to achieve the best fit for the data before the Moriond update is to introduce additional particle contributions to the triangular-loop functions of Hγγand Hgg vertices; (iii) the 1σallowed range of the relative coupling of HVV is 1.01 +0.13 -0.14, which means that the electroweak-symmetry breaking contribution from the observed Higgs boson leaves only a small room for other Higgs bosons; (iv) the current data do not rule out pseudoscalar couplings nor pseudoscalar contributions to the Hγγand Hgg vertices; and (v) the SM Higgs boson provides the best fit to all the current Higgs data.

We use the full CDF data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9.45 fb${}^{-1}$ at a proton-antiproton center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=1.96$ TeV. New to this analysis is the inclusion of a $b$-jet identification algorithm specifically optimized for $H\to b\bar{b}$ searches. Across the Higgs boson mass range $90 \le m_H \le 150$ GeV$/c^2$, the expected 95% credibility level upper limits on the $V H$ production cross section times the $H\to b\bar{b}$ branching fraction are improved by an average of 14% relative to the previous analysis. At a Higgs boson mass of 125 GeV$/c^2$, the observed (expected) limit is 3.06 (3.33) times the standard model prediction, corresponding to one of the most sensitive searches to date in this final state.

We explore the MSSM parameter space in which the 125 GeV state is identified as the heavier of the CP even Higgs bosons, and study two scenarios where the two photon production rate can be significantly larger than the standard model (SM). In one scenario, $Γ(H\to γγ)$ is enhanced by a light stau contribution, while the $WW^{\ast}$ ($ZZ^{\ast}$) rate stays around the SM rate. In the other scenario, $Γ(H\to b\bar{b})$ is suppressed and not only the $γγ$ but also the $WW^{\ast}$ ($ZZ^{\ast}$) rates should be enhanced. The $τ\barτ$ rate can be significantly larger or smaller than the SM rate in both scenarios. Other common features of the scenarios include top quark decays into charged Higgs boson, single and pair production of all Higgs bosons in $e^+e^-$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}\lesssim 300$ GeV.

We study the Higgs-boson mass spectrum of a classical scale-invariant realization of the two-Higgs-doublet model (SI-2HDM). The classical scale symmetry of the theory is explicitly broken by quantum loop effects due to gauge interactions, Higgs self-couplings and top-quark Yukawa couplings. We determine the allowed parameter space compatible with perturbative unitarity and electroweak precision data. Taking into account the LEP and the recent LHC exclusion limits on a Standard-Model-like Higgs boson H_SM, we obtain rather strict constraints on the mass spectrum of the heavy Higgs sector of the SI-2HDM. In particular, if M_{H_SM} \sim 125 GeV, the SI-2HDM strongly favours scenarios, in which at least one of the non-standard neutral Higgs bosons has a mass close to 400 GeV and is generically degenerate with the charged Higgs boson, whilst the third neutral Higgs scalar is lighter than ~ 500 GeV.

We study these observables in the effective Lagrangian approach with dimension-6 q q^bar t t^bar contact interactions, and compare with the CDF and D0 data. When we stay within the validity region of the effective Lagrangian approach, the mass dependent top FB asymmetry turns out to be smaller than the CDF data, more than 2-sigma away. If this discrepancy remains in the future data with better statistics, it would imply that the effective Lagrangian approach is not adequate for the top FB asymmetry, and a new physics scale around a few hundred GeV in the t- or u-channel may be responsible for the observed top FB asymmetry.

We found that the one-loop contributions from neutralinos are mostly small while the two-loop Higgs-mediated contributions of the Barr-Zee (BZ) type diagrams dominate.
