Quantum Many-Body Scars for Arbitrary Integer Spin in $2+1$D Abelian Gauge Theories
Abstract: The existence of Quantum Many-Body Scars has been established across different quantum many-body systems, including spin-1/2 Quantum Link Models. We systematically identify scars for pure gauge theories with arbitrarily large integer spin $S$ in $2+1$D, concretely for Truncated Link Models, where the electric field is truncated rather than replaced by spins. Through an explicit analytic constructi… ▽ More

Towards the Application of Skewed Detailed Balance in Lattice Gauge Theories
Abstract: State-of-the-art algorithms in lattice gauge theory typically rely heavily on detailed balance, which is an instrumental tool to prove the correct convergence of the Markov Chain Monte Carlo Algorithm. In this work, we investigate an alternative to detailed balance, skewed detailed balance, and the prospects of alleviating the topological freezing problem by studying the one-dimensional… ▽ More

Meron-Cluster Algorithms for Quantum Link Models
Abstract: State-of-the-art algorithms for simulating fermions coupled to gauge fields often rely on integrating fermion degrees of freedom. While successful in simulating QCD at zero chemical potential, at finite density these approaches are hindered by the sign problem. Variance reduction via deflation with local coherence
Abstract: In large enough volumes, translation-averaging for quark-line connected diagrams reduces the variance inversely proportional to the volume. Stochastic estimators which implement translation averaging however introduce new sources of fluctuations, which in some cases can be relatively large. A qubit regularization of asymptotic freedom without fine-tuning
Abstract: Other than the commonly used Wilson's regularization of quantum field theories (QFTs), there is a growing interest in regularizations that explore lattice models with a strictly finite local Hilbert space, in anticipation of the upcoming era of quantum simulations of QFTs. A notable example is Euclidean qubit regularization, which provides a natural way to recover continuum QFTs that emerge via in… ▽ More

Antistatic-antistatic-light-light potentials from lattice QCD
Abstract: We present results for tetraquark potentials of two static anti-quarks $\bar b \bar b$ in the presence of two light quarks $u$ and/or $d$. We improve on existing results by computing the static potential also for off-axis separations, which increases the number of data points significantly. Moreover, we compute for the first time $\bar b \bar b u s$ potentials.

A qubit regularization of asymptotic freedom at the BKT transition without fine-tuning
Abstract: We propose a two-dimensional hard core loop-gas model as a way to regularize the asymptotically free massive continuum quantum field theory that emerges at the BKT transition. Generative models for scalar field theories: how to deal with poor scaling?
Abstract: Generative models, such as the method of normalizing flows, have been suggested as alternatives to the standard algorithms for generating lattice gauge field configurations. A study of the sign problem for lattice QCD with chemical potential
Abstract: We study the expectation value of the phase of the fermion determinant for Wilson lattice fermions with chemical potential. We use quenched SU(3) ensembles and implement a recently proposed exact dimensional reduction of the fermion determinant. Ensembles at several temperatures below and above the phase transition are studied and we analyze the role of the quark mass, the temperature, the volum… ▽ More

Comparing topological charge definitions using topology fixing actions
Abstract: We investigate both the hyperbolic action and the determinant ratio action designed to fix the topological charge on the lattice. We show to what extent topology is fixed depending on the parameters of these actions, kee** the physical situation fixed. At the same time the agreement between different definitions of topological charge - the field theoretic and the index definition - is directly… ▽ More
