We study low-energy scattering of spin-1/2 baryons from the perspective of quantum information science, focusing on the correlation between entanglement minimization and the appearance of accidental symmetries. The baryon transforms as an octet under the SU(3) flavor symmetry and its interactions below the pion threshold are described by contact operators in an effective field theory (EFT) of QCD. Despite there being 64 channels in the 2-to-2 scattering, only six independent operators in the EFT are predicted by SU(3). We show that successive entanglement minimization in SU(3)-symmetric channels are correlated with increasingly large emergent symmetries in the EFT. In particular, we identify scattering channels whose entanglement suppression are indicative of emergent SU(6), SO(8), SU(8), and SU(16) symmetries. We also observe the appearance of non-relativistic conformal invariance in channels with unnaturally large scattering lengths. Improved precision from lattice simulations could help determine the degree of entanglement suppression, and consequently the amount of accidental symmetry, in low-energy QCD.

Making use of the world-average branching fraction $\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\toΛπ^+π^0)$, their branching fractions are determined to be \begin{eqnarray*} \begin{aligned} \mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\toΛρ(770)^+)=&(4.06\pm0.30\pm0.35\pm0.23)\times10^{-2},\\ \mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\toΣ(1385)^+π^0)=&(5.86\pm0.49\pm0.52\pm0.35)\times10^{-3},\\ \mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\toΣ(1385)^0π^+)=&(6.47\pm0.59\pm0.66\pm0.38)\times10^{-3},\\ \end{aligned} \end{eqnarray*} where the first uncertainties are statistical, the second are systematic, and the third are from the uncertainties of the branching fractions $\mathcal{B}(Λ_c^+\toΛπ^+π^0)$ and $\mathcal{B}(Σ(1385)\toΛπ)$. In addition, %according to amplitudes determined from the partial wave analysis, the decay asymmetry parameters are measured to be $α_{Λρ(770)^+}=-0.763\pm0.053\pm0.045$, $α_{Σ(1385)^{+}π^0}=-0.917\pm0.069\pm0.056$, and $α_{Σ(1385)^{0}π^+}=-0.789\pm0.098\pm0.056$.

From the amplitude analysis, the $K^*(892)^+ K_S^0$ component is found to be dominant with a fraction of $(57.1\pm2.6\pm4.2)\%$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. In combination with the absolute branching fraction $\mathcal{B}(D^+\to K^+ K_S^0 π^0)$ measured by BESIII, we obtain $\mathcal{B}(D^+\to K^*(892)^+ K_S^0)=(8.69\pm0.40\pm0.64\pm0.51)\times10^{-3}$, where the third uncertainty is due to the branching fraction $\mathcal{B}(D^+\to K^+ K_S^0 π^0)$. The precision of this result is significantly improved compared to the previous measurement.

By performing a partial wave analysis, the $π^+π^-$ $S$-wave contribution to $D^+\toπ^-π^+ e^+ν_e$ is observed to be $(25.7\pm1.6\pm1.1)$% with a statistical significance greater than 10$σ$, besides the dominant $P$-wave contribution. This is the first observation of the $S$-wave contribution. We measure the branching fractions $\mathcal{B}(D^{0} \to ρ^- e^+ ν_e) = (1.445\pm 0.058 \pm 0.039) \times10^{-3}$, $\mathcal{B}(D^{+} \to ρ^0 e^+ ν_e) = (1.860\pm 0.070 \pm 0.061) \times10^{-3}$, and $\mathcal{B}(D^{+} \to f_0(500) e^+ ν_e, f_0(500)\toπ^+π^-) = (6.30\pm 0.43 \pm 0.32) \times10^{-4}$. An upper limit of $\mathcal{B}(D^{+} \to f_0(980) e^+ ν_e, f_0(980)\toπ^+π^-) < 2.8 \times10^{-5}$ is set at the 90% confidence level. There has been much speculation as to the origin of the ΔI = 1/2 rule (Re A_0/Re A_2 \simeq 22.5). We find that the two dominant contributions to the ΔI=3/2, K \to ππ correlation functions have opposite signs leading to a significant cancellation. This partial cancellation occurs in our computation of Re A_2 with physical quark masses and kinematics (where we reproduce the experimental value of A_2) and also for heavier pions at threshold. For Re A_0, although we do not have results at physical kinematics, we do have results for pions at zero-momentum with m_π \simeq 420 MeV (Re A_0/Re A_2=9.1(2.1)) and m_π \simeq 330 MeV (Re A_0/Re A_2=12.0(1.7)). The contributions which partially cancel in Re A_2 are also the largest ones in Re A_0, but now they have the same sign and so enhance this amplitude. The emerging explanation of the ΔI=1/2 rule is a combination of the perturbative running to scales of O(2 GeV), a relative suppression of Re A_2 through the cancellation of the two dominant contributions and the corresponding enhancement of Re A_0. QCD and EWP penguin operators make only very small contributions at such scales.

The first numerical investigation of non-relativistic aspects of the Thomas-Fermi (TF) statistical multi-quark model is given. We begin with a review of the traditional TF model without an explicit spin interaction and find that the spin splittings are too small in this approach. An explicit spin interaction is then introduced which entails the definition of a generalized spin "flavor". We investigate baryonic states in this approach which can be described with two inequivalent wave functions; such states can however apply to multiple degenerate flavors. We find that the model requires a spatial separation of quark flavors, even if completely degenerate. Although the TF model is designed to investigate the possibility of many-quark states, we find surprisingly that it may be used to fit the low energy spectrum of almost all ground state octet and decuplet baryons. The charge radii of such states are determined and compared with lattice calculations and other models. The low energy fit obtained allows us to extrapolate to the six-quark doubly strange {\it H}-dibaryon state, flavor symmetric strange states of higher quark content and possible six quark nucleon-nucleon resonances. The emphasis here is on the {\it systematics} revealed in this approach. We view our model as a versatile and convenient tool for quickly assessing the characteristics of new, possibly bound, particle states of higher quark number content.

We present a systematic study of the effectiveness of light quark mass reweighting. This method allows a single lattice QCD ensemble, generated with a specific value of the dynamical light quark mass, to be used to determine results for other, nearby light dynamical quark masses. We study two gauge field ensembles generated with 2+1 flavors of dynamical domain wall fermions with light quark masses m_l=0.02 (m_π=620 MeV) and m_l=0.01 (m_π=420 MeV). We reweight each ensemble to determine results which could be computed directly from the other and check the consistency of the reweighted results with the direct results. The large difference between the 0.02 and 0.01 light quark masses suggests that this is an aggressive application of reweighting as can be seen from fluctuations in the magnitude of the reweighting factor by four orders of magnitude. Never-the-less, a comparison of the reweighed topological charge, average plaquette, residual mass, pion mass, pion decay constant, and scalar correlator between these two ensembles shows agreement well described by the statistical errors. The issues of the effective number of configurations and finite sample size bias are discussed. An examination of the topological charge distribution implies that it is more favorable to reweight from heavier mass to lighter quark mass.

We find Re$A_2=(1.436\pm 0.063_{\textrm{stat}}\pm 0.258_{\textrm{syst}})\,10^{-8}\,\textrm{GeV}$ in good agreement with the experimental result and for the hitherto unknown imaginary part we find {Im}$\,A_2=-(6.83 \pm 0.51_{\textrm{stat}} \pm 1.30_{\textrm{syst}})\,10^{-13}\,{\rm GeV}$. Moreover combining our result for Im\,$A_2$ with experimental values of Re\,$A_2$, Re\,$A_0$ and $ε^\prime/ε$, we obtain the following value for the unknown ratio Im\,$A_0$/Re\,$A_0$ within the Standard Model: $\mathrm{Im}\,A_0/\mathrm{Re}\,A_0=-1.63(19)_{\mathrm{stat}}(20)_{\mathrm{syst}}\times10^{-4}$. One consequence of these results is that the contribution from Im\,$A_2$ to the direct CP violation parameter $ε^{\prime}$ (the so-called Electroweak Penguin, EWP, contribution) is Re$(ε^\prime/ε)_{\mathrm{EWP}} = -(6.52 \pm 0.49_{\textrm{stat}} \pm 1.24_{\textrm{syst}}) \times 10^{-4}$. We explain why this calculation of $A_2$ represents a major milestone for lattice QCD and discuss the exciting prospects for a full quantitative understanding of CP-violation in kaon decays.

A direct calculation of the complex $ΔI=1/2$ kaon decay amplitude is notoriously difficult because of the presence of disconnected graphs. Here we describe and demonstrate two practical methods to defeat this problem: the EigCG algorithm and the use of time-separated $π-π$ sources. With a fine tuned EigCG implementation for domain wall fermions, the calculation of light quark propagators is accelerated by a factor of 5-10 on a variety of lattices from small ($16^3\times32\times16$) to large ($32^3\times64\times32$). In addition, a substantial reduction in noise is achieved by separating each of the sources for the two pions in the time direction by 2-5 lattice spacings. These methods are combined in a calculation of $K$ to $ππ$ threshold decay using a $24^3\times64\times16$ volume and 329 MeV pions. These methods result in non-zero signals for both Re($A_0$) and Im($A_0$) from 138 gauge configurations.

We report a direct lattice calculation of the $K$ to $ππ$ decay matrix elements for both the $ΔI=1/2$ and 3/2 amplitudes $A_0$ and $A_2$ on 2+1 flavor, domain wall fermion, $16^3\times32\times16$ lattices. This is a complete calculation in which all contractions for the required ten, four-quark operators are evaluated, including the disconnected graphs in which no quark line connects the initial kaon and final two-pion states. These lattice operators are non-perturbatively renormalized using the Rome-Southampton method and the quadratic divergences are studied and removed. This is an important but notoriously difficult calculation, requiring high statistics on a large volume. In this paper we take a major step towards the computation of the physical $K\toππ$ amplitudes by performing a complete calculation at unphysical kinematics with pions of mass 422\,MeV at rest in the kaon rest frame. With this simplification we are able to resolve Re$(A_0)$ from zero for the first time, with a 25% statistical error and can develop and evaluate methods for computing the complete, complex amplitude $A_0$, a calculation central to understanding the $Δ=1/2$ rule and testing the standard model of CP violation in the kaon system.

The decay into the isospin zero $ππ$ final state, which receives contributions from the disconnected graphs, is very difficult to calculate, but a clear signal in the similar disconnected $ππ$ correlator can be seen. Preliminary results, some with large errors, will be presented for the various contributions to the renormalized weak matrix elements $A_0$ and $A_2$. We obtain Re$(A_0)$ with $25%$ error in the case of zero momentum on shell decay, and find a factor of 6 enhancement for the $ΔI=1/2$ rule in the $420$ MeV pion system.

Abstract:
The large mass of the ninth pseudoscalar meson, the $η^\prime$, is believed to arise from the combined effects of the axial anomaly and the gauge field topology present in QCD. We report a realistic, 2+1 flavor, lattice QCD calculation of the $η$ and $η^\prime$ masses and mixing which confirms this picture. The physical eigenstates show small octet-singlet mixing with a mixing angle of $θ= -14.1(2.8)^\circ$. Extrapolation to physical light quark mass gives, with statistical errors only, $m_η=573(6)$ MeV and $m_{η^\prime}=947(142)$ MeV, consistent with the experimental values of 548 MeV and 958 MeV.

Using the same light quark propagators and additional strange quark propagators, we study the $η$ and $η^\prime$ mesons, where disconnected diagrams also make an important contribution. Our $π-π$ calculation shows a good exponentially decaying signal from the disconnected graph, which makes a small contribution to the I=0 scattering amplitude at least for the short times where it can be accurately computed. We are able to resolve the $η$ and $η^\prime$ states and see the pattern of SU(3) flavor symmetry breaking found in Nature.

Charmonium Spectrum from Quenched Lattice QCD with Tadpole Improvement Action

Abstract:
We report here our lattice simulation on the charmonium spectra in the quenched approximation. Because the full adjustment on the nonperturbative parameters such as $C_E$, $C_B$, $m_0a_s$ and $r_s$ needs many calculation time, we only adjust two of them, $m_0a_s$ and $r_s$($ξ_3$ plays this role in the paper) but with some rescale for mass splitting. The First Calculation for the Mass of the Ground $4^{++}$ Glueball State on Lattice

Abstract:
Under the quenched approximation, we perform a lattice calculation for the mass of the ground $4^{++}$ glueball state in $E^{++}$ channel on a $D=3+1$ lattice. Our calculation shows that the mass of this state is $M_G(4^{++})=3.65(6)(18)GeV$, which rules out the $4^{++}$ or mainly $4^{++}$ glueball interpretation for $ξ(2230)$.

Abstract:
We introduce an approach to expand gauge-invariant Wilson operators on lattice. This approach is based on non-abelian Stokes theorem and overcomes some shortage of some former methods. It is also suitable for expanding any Wilson operators on lattice.

We develop a new approach to construct the operator on lattice for the calculation of glueball mass, which is based on the connection between the continuum limit of the chosen operator and the quantum number $J^{PC}$ of the state studied. The spin of the state studied is then determined uniquely and directly in numerical simulation. Furthermore, the approach can be applied to calculate the mass of glueball states (ground or excited states) with any spin $J$ including $J\geq 4$. Under the quenched approximation, we present pre-calculation results for the masses of $0^{++}$ state and $2^{++}$ state, which are $1754(85)(86)MeV$ and $2417(56)(117)MeV$, respectively.

Abstract:
An observation of autocorrelation of Wilson loops on lattice is presented, especially for the small seperation in Markov chain. We give a possible explanation for such behavior. We also present the dependence of autocorrelation behavior on the chosen operators in this paper.

Abstract:
To calculate the mass of glueballs with quantum number $J^{PC}$ in lattice gauge theory by using Wilson loops, we discuss their combinations of Wilson loops into irreducible representation of $O^{PC}$ group for arbitry-link wilson loops. We present a general computational procedure for this combination which is suitable for any finite groups.
