We discuss neutrino sector in models with two Higgs doublet and one singlet scalar fields under local $U(1)_{L_α- L_β}$ symmetry. A neutrino mass matrix is formulated for these models where the matrix is generated via type-I seesaw mechanism introducing right-handed neutrinos. The neutrino mass matrix has more degrees of freedom compared to minimal scenarios which have only one new scalar field, but its structure is still restricted by the symmetry. Then it is find that sum of neutrino mass can be lower than minimal scenarios and it is easier to satisfy observed constraints. In addition, we can fit neutrino data for $U(1)_{L_e - L_{μ(τ)}}$ cases which are disfavored in minimal models. Furthermore, some correlations among sum of neutrino mass and CP violating phases are still found although we have more free parameters.

The current article presents an extension of the classical scotogenic neutrino mass paradigm, where the three issues in particle physics: dark matter, smallness of neutrino mass, and stability of the proton are interconnected. The scenario encompasses the neutrino mass as well as the proton decay as a consequence of an existence of the dark matter. The study successfully achieves the correlation between the naturally small neutrino masses and naturally long proton lifetime in the present paradigm. Furthermore, all relevant cosmological, collider, and flavor physics constraints are incorporated in the detailed analysis. The scotogenic fermionic dark matter with the mass in the range from $100$ GeV to $10$ TeV successfully satisfies all relevant constraints. The valid range of $2.51\times 10^{-5} < λ< 2\times 10^{-3}$ is obtained for the 2HDM $λ$ coupling. We give a brief discussion, as well as, outline some of the future prospects.

Kinetic mixing between $SU(2)_H$ and $U(1)_Y$ gauge fields can be generated by introducing dimension six operator realizing dark photon interactions. In estimating relic density we focus on the process in which dark matter annihilates into dark photons, and search for the region of dark matter mass and gauge coupling realizing observed relic density. We then discuss constraints from dark photon physics, thermalization of dark sector and direct detection of dark matter. It is then found that constraints from direct detection experiments give us the strongest upper limits on the dark photon interactions.

We study a relic density of the flavino dark matter in modified Altarelli and Feruglio $A_4$ model which is respecting the $SU(2)_L\times A_4\times Z_3\times U(1)_R$ symmetry. We calculate the Lagrangian from the superpotential in the model. In estimating relic density, we consider the relevant interactions from the Lagrangian that realize the vacuum expectation value alignments and charged lepton masses where we assume that the supersymmetry breaking effects are small for flavon sector. As a result, we find the degenerate masses between the lightest ``flavon'' and ``flavino'', and only two parameters in the potential determines the relic density. Then allowed parameter space of these parameters are estimated from relic density calculation taking a constraint from lepton flavor violation into account. We also briefly discuss other dark matter physics such as direct detection, indirect detection and collider search.

The origin of tiny neutrino mass is an unsolved puzzle leading to a variety of phenomenological aspects beyond the Standard Model (BSM). Among several interesting attempts, $U(1)$ gauge extension of Standard Model (SM) is a simple and interesting set-up where the so-called seesaw mechanism is incarnated by the addition of three generations of right-handed neutrinos followed by the breaking of $U(1)$ and electroweak symmetries. Such scenarios are anomaly free in nature appearing with a neutral BSM gauge boson ($Z^\prime$). In addition to that, there comes another open question regarding the existence of a non-luminous, hitherto unidentified object called Dark Matter (DM) originating from the measurement of its relic density. To explore properties of $Z^\prime$, we focus on chiral and flavored scenarios where $Z^\prime-$neutrinos interaction could be probed in the context of cosmic explosions like gamma-ray burst (GRB221009A, so far the highest energy), blazar (TXS 0506+056) and Active galaxy (NGC1068) respectively. The neutrino antineutrino annihilation produces electron-positron pair which could energize GRB through energy deposition. Taking the highest energy GRB under consideration and estimating the energy deposition rates we constrain $Z^\prime$ mass $(M_{Z^\prime})$ and the additional $U(1)$ coupling $(g_X)$ for chiral and flavored scenarios in the Schwarzchild, Hartle-Thorne and modified gravity frameworks. On the other hand, adding viable and alternative DM candidates in these models we study neutrino-DM scattering mediated by $Z^\prime$ in the $t-$ channel and estimate constraints on $g_X-M_{Z^\prime}$ plane using observed data of high energy neutrinos from cosmic blazar and active galaxy at the IceCube experiment. We compare our results with bounds obtained from different scattering, beam-dump and $g-2$ experiments.

Motivated by the observation of tiny neutrino mass can not be explained within the framework of Standard Model (SM), we consider extra gauge extended scenarios in which tiny neutrino masses are generated through seesaw mechanism. These scenarios are equipped with beyond the standard model (BSM) neutral gauge boson called $Z^\prime$ in the general $U(1)_X$ symmetry which is a linear combination of $U(1)_Y$ and $U(1)_{B-L}$. In this case, left and right handed fermions interact differently with the $Z^\prime$. The $Z^\prime$ gives rise to different processes involving neutrino-nucleon, neutrino-electron, electron-nucleus and electron-muon scattering processes. By comparing with proton, electron beam-dump experiments data, recast data from searches for the long-lived and dark photon at BaBaR, LHCb and CMS experiments, the electron and muon $g-2$ data, and the data of the dilepton and dijet searches at the LEP experiment, we derive bounds on the gauge coupling and the corresponding gauge boson mass for different $U(1)_X$ charges and evaluate the prospective limits from the future beam-dump scenarios at DUNE, FASER(2) and ILC. We conclude that large parameter regions could be probed by scattering, beam-dump and collider experiments in future.

Dark Matter (DM) residing in a secluded sector with suppressed portal interaction could evade direct detections and collider searches. The indirect detections provide the most robust probe to this scenario. Depending on the structure of the dark sector, novel DM annihilation spectra are possible. The dark shower is a common phenomenon for particles in the dark sector which take part in strong interactions and are boosted. In terms of simplified two-component DM models with vector portal interaction and pseudoscalar portal interaction, we study the dark showering effects for DM indirect detection. In those models, the heavier DM component which dominates the relic density annihilates into boosted lighter species. Together with the large coupling through which the lighter DM annihilates away in the early universe, the showered spectra provide as the smoking gun for the DM existence. Considering bounds obtained by the AMS-02 positron data and Fermi-LAT measurement of gamma-ray from the dwarf galaxies, we find the dark shower could open a new region of sensitivity that can not be probed before.

We propose a model to explain the W boson mass anomaly reported by the CDFII collaboration that would suggest new physics (NP). We introduce exotic fermions; one isospin doublet vector-like lepton, one isospin singlet singly-charged vector-like lepton, and an isospin doublet inert scalar. The proposed model provides sizable muon anomalous magnetic moment (muon $g-2$) due to no chiral suppression and nonzero mass difference between the real and imaginary parts of neutral inert scalar bosons. The inert scalar mass squared difference and vector-like exotic leptons ($L', E'$ in the main text) affect oblique parameters. Especially, the $T$-parameter shift from zero explains the W boson mass anomaly. We search for the allowed parameter region to explain both muon $g-2$ and W boson mass anomaly at the same time. We also discuss a dark matter (DM) candidate assuming the real part of the inert scalar field to be the one. We find that lighter DM mass is favored to be consistent with experimental constraints.

Flavor-changing neutral current (FCNC) top-quark decays are highly suppressed due to the Glashow-Iliopoulos-Maiani mechanism in the standard model (SM). If $t\to q h, qV$ with $V=g,γ, Z$ are all induced via quantum loop levels, then we investigate the effect that can enhance the top-FCNC up to the sensitivity designed at the high-luminosity (HL) LHC. Inspired by the mechanism of the scotogenic neutrino mass, we extend the SM by including $Z_2$-odd colored fermions when a $Z_2$ discrete is imposed. The results show that by taking $BR(t\to u g) \lesssim 0.61 \times 10^{-4}$ recently measured by ATLAS as an input, $t\to q γ$ can be indirectly bounded to be $BR(t\to q γ)\lesssim 3.2 \times 10^{-6}$, which is below the expected sensitivity at the HL LHC. After taking potential constraints from various experiments into account, the obtained branching ratios for the loop-induced $t\to q h$ and $t\to qZ$ decays can be $O(10^{-4})$, which falls within the sensitivity at the HL LHC.

High energy collisions at the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (LHC) produce a large number of particles along the beam collision axis, outside of the acceptance of existing LHC experiments. The proposed Forward Physics Facility (FPF), to be located several hundred meters from the ATLAS interaction point and shielded by concrete and rock, will host a suite of experiments to probe Standard Model (SM) processes and search for physics beyond the Standard Model (BSM). In this report, we review the status of the civil engineering plans and the experiments to explore the diverse physics signals that can be uniquely probed in the forward region. FPF experiments will be sensitive to a broad range of BSM physics through searches for new particle scattering or decay signatures and deviations from SM expectations in high statistics analyses with TeV neutrinos in this low-background environment. High statistics neutrino detection will also provide valuable data for fundamental topics in perturbative and non-perturbative QCD and in weak interactions. Experiments at the FPF will enable synergies between forward particle production at the LHC and astroparticle physics to be exploited. We report here on these physics topics, on infrastructure, detector, and simulation studies, and on future directions to realize the FPF's physics potential.

We construct a scotogenic Majorana neutrino mass model in a gauged $U(1)_X$ extension of the standard model, where the mass of the gauge boson and the unbroken gauge symmetry, which leads to a stable dark matter (DM), can be achieved through the Stueckelberg mechanism. It is found that the simplest version of the extended model consists of the two inert-Higgs doublets and one vector-like singlet fermion. In addition to the Majorana neutrino mass, we study the lepton flavor violation (LFV) processes, such as $\ell_i \to \ell_j γ$, $\ell_i \to 3 \ell_j$, $μ-e$ conversion rate in nucleus, and muonium-antimuonium oscillation. We show that the sensitivities of $μ\to 3e$ and $μ-e$ conversion rate designed in Mu3e and COMET/Mu2e experiments make both decays the most severe constraints on the $μ\to e$ LFV processes. It is found that $τ\to μγ$ and $τ\to 3μ$ can reach the designed significance level of Belle II. In addition to explaining the DM relic density, we also show that the DM-nucleon scattering cross section can satisfy the currently experimental limit of DM direct detection.

In our model $b\to sμ^+ μ^-$ anomalies can be explained by loop induced interactions among the SM and exotic quarks and $Z'$ gauge boson. In our numerical analysis, we show allowed region of our model to be narrow, and it would be tested soon, for example by searching for 4 muons and dimuon + missing transverse momentum from $pp \to μ^+ μ^- Z'$ and $pp \to ν_{μ,τ} \bar ν_{μ,τ} Z'$ followed by $Z' \to μ^+ μ^- , ν_{μ,τ} \bar ν_{μ,τ} $ at the LHC.

We study the two-Higgs-doublet model with type-II seesaw mechanism. In view of constraints from the Higgs data, we consider the aligned two-Higgs-doublet scheme and its effects on muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment, $a_μ$, including both one-loop and two-loop Barr-Zee type diagrams. Thanks to a sizable trilinear scalar coupling, the Barr-Zee type diagrams mediated by the Higgs triplet fields have a dominant effect on $a_μ$. In particular, unlike the usual two-Higgs-doublet models that require exotic Higgs bosons light in mass, the masses of the corresponding particles in the model are of ${\cal O}(100)$~GeV. The doubly-charged Higgs boson presents a different decay pattern from the usual Higgs triplet model and thus calls for a new collider search strategy, such as multi-$τ$ searches at the LHC.

We propose an attractive model that excess of electron recoil events around 1-5 keV reported by the XENON1T collaboration nicely links to the tiny neutrino masses based on a radiative seesaw scenario. Our dark matter(DM) is an isospin singlet inert boson that plays an role in generating non-vanishing neutrino mass at one-loop level, and this DM inelastically interacts with a pair of electrons at one-loop level that is required to explain the XENON1T anomaly. It is also demanded that the mass difference between an excited DM and DM has to be of the order keV. Interestingly, the small mass difference $\sim$keV is proportional to the neutrino masses. It suggests that we have double suppressions through the tiny mass difference and the one-loop effect. Then, we show some benchmark points to explain the XENON1T anomaly, satisfying all the constraints such as the event ratio of electrons of XENON1T, a long lived particle be longer than the age of Universe, and relic density in addition to the neutrino oscillation data and lepton flavor violations(LFVs).

A nonconventional $U(1)_{e-μ}$ gauge model is proposed to explain the unexpected anomalous magnetic moments of the electron and muon (lepton $g-2$), where only the right-handed electron and muon in the standard model carry the $U(1)_{e-μ}$ charge. Although the light lepton masses are suppressed when the gauge symmetry is spontaneously broken, they can be generated through the Yukawa couplings to newly introduced particles, such as vector-like lepton doublets and singlet, and scalar singlets. It is found that the same Yukawa couplings combined with the new scalar couplings to the Higgs can induce the radiative lepton-flavor violation processes $\ell' \to \ell γ$ and lepton $g-2$, where the lepton $g-2$ is proportional to $m_{\ell}$. When Majorana fermions and a scalar singlet are further added into the model, the active neutrinos can obtain masses via the radiative seesaw mechanism. When the bounds from the $m_e$ and $m_μ$ and the neutrino data are satisfied, we find that the electron $g-2$ can reach an order of $-10^{-12}$, and the muon $g-2$ can be an order of $10^{-9}$. In addition, when the $μ\to e γ$ decay is suppressed, the resulting branching ratio for $τ\to e γ$ can be of $O(10^{-8})$, and that for $τ\to μγ$ can be as large as the current upper limit.

The quartic scalar coupling $λ_5$ term, which violates the lepton-number by two units in the Ma-model, is phenomenologically small when the model is applied to the lepton-flavor violation (LFV) processes. In order to dynamically generate the $λ_5$ parameter through quantum loop effects and retain the dark matter (DM) candidate, we extend the Ma-model by adding a $Z_2$-odd vector-like lepton doublet and a $Z_2$-even Majorana singlet. With the new couplings to the Higgs and gauge bosons, the observed DM relic density can be explained when the upper limits from the DM-nucleon scattering cross sections are satisfied. In addition to the neutrino data and LFV constraints, it is found that the DM relic density can significantly exclude the free parameter space. Nevertheless, the resulting muon $g-2$ mediated by the inert charged-Higgs can fit the $4.2σ$ deviation between the experimental measurement and the SM result, and the branching ratio for $τ\to μγ$ can be as large as the current upper limit when the rare $μ\to (e γ, 3 e)$ decays are suppressed. In addition, it is found that the resulting $BR(τ\to μρ)$ can reach the sensitivity of Belle II with an integrated luminosity of 50 $ab^{-1}$.

When a small vacuum expectation value of Higgs triplet ($v_Δ$) in the type-II seesaw model is required to explain neutrino oscillation data, a fine-tuning issue occurs on the mass-dimension lepton-number-violation (LNV) scalar coupling. Using the scotogenic approach, we investigate how a small LNV term is arisen through a radiative correction when an $Z_2$-odd vector-like lepton ($X$) and an $Z_2$-odd right-handed Majorana lepton ($N$) are introduced to the type-II seesaw model. Due to the dark matter (DM) direct detection constraints, the available DM candidate is the right-handed Majorana particle, whose mass depends on and is close to the $m_X$ parameter. Combing the constraints from the DM measurements, the $h\to γγ$ decay, and the oblique $T$-parameter, it is found that the preferred range of $v_Δ$ is approximately in the region of $10^{-5}-10^{-4}$ GeV; the mass difference between the doubly and the singly charged Higgs is less than 50 GeV, and the influence on the $h\to Zγ$ is not significant. Using the constrained parameters, we analyze the decays of each Higgs triplet scalar in detail, including the possible three-body decays when the kinematic condition is allowed. It is found that with the exception of doubly charged Higgs, scalar mixing effects play an important role in the Higgs triplet two-body decays when the scalar masses are near-degenerate. In the non-degenerate mass region, the branching ratios of the Higgs triplet decays are dominated by the three-body decays.

A simple extension of Ma's approach in a scotogenic model is studied for the purpose of simultaneously interpreting the neutrino data and the excess of muon anomalous magnetic moment (muon $g-2$). The feasible minimal extension is to add an $Z_2$-odd vector-like lepton doublet to the Ma's model. It is found that in addition to the neutrino data, the strict constraints on the relevant parameters are from the electroweak oblique parameters and the induced lepton-flavor violation processes, such as $\ell_i \to \ell_j γ$ and $\ell_i \to \ell^-_j \ell^-_j \ell^+_j$. Performing parameter scan, we numerically demonstrate that when the constraint conditions are satisfied, the muon $g-2$ of $O(10^{-9})$ can be achieved, where it can be expected that with a $5σ$ observation, the Muon $g-2$ experiment at Fermilab can observe $a_μ\approx 13.31 \times 10^{-10}$ when the current experiment and the SM errors are reduced by a factor of 4 and 2, respectively. Moreover, the branching ratio of the $τ\to μγ$ decay can match the Belle II sensitivity of $O(10^{-9})$ with an integrated luminosity of 50 ab$^{-1}$.

Thus one can explain observed anomalies in $b \to s \ell^+ \ell^-$ decay with the lepton non-universal $U(1)_X$ charge assignments. We show the minimal setup explaining $b \to s \ell^+ \ell^-$ anomalies, neutrino masses and mixings and dark matter candidate, taking into account experimental constraints of flavor physics such as charged lepton flavor violations and the $B_s$--$\bar B_s$ mixing. Finally we discuss collider physics focusing on $Z'$ production at the Large Hadron Collider and relic density of our dark matter candidate.

Using the ATLAS's branching ratio (BR) upper bound of $BR(t\to uZ) < 1.7\times 10^{-4}$, the influence of the anomalous $tuZ$-coupling on the rare decays can be found as follows: (a) The contribution to the Kaon direct CP violation can be up to $Re(ε'/ε) \lesssim 0.8 \times 10^{-3}$; (b) $BR(K^+\to π^+ ν\bar ν) \lesssim 12 \times 10^{-11}$ and $BR(K_L \to π^0 ν\bar ν)\lesssim 7.9 \times 10^{-11}$; (c) the BR for $K_S \to μ^+ μ^-$ including the long-distance effect can be enhanced by $11\%$ with respect to the standard model result, and (d) $BR(B_d \to μ^+ μ^-) \lesssim 1.97 \times 10^{-10}$. In addition, although $Re(ε'/ε)$ cannot be synchronously enhanced with $BR(K_L\to π^0 ν\barν)$ and $BR(K_S\to μ^+ μ^-)$ in the same region of the CP-violating phase, the values of $Re(ε'/ε)$, $BR(K^+ \to π^+ ν\barν)$, and $BR(B_d \to μ^+ μ^-)$ can be simultaneously increased.

Using the parameters that are constrained by the $K^0-\bar K^0$ mixing parameter $ΔM_K$ and the Kaon indirect CP violation $ε_K$, we find that the left-handed color-sextet diquark can lead to the Kaon direct CP violation being $Re(ε'/ε) \sim 0.4 \times 10^{-3}$. Based on the calculations using the lattice QCD by RBC-UKQCD collaboration and a large $N_c$ dual QCD, the resulted $ε'/ε$, which is less than the experimental data by more than a $2σ$ in the standard model (SM), suggests the necessity of a new physics effect. In order to complement the insufficient $ε'/ε$, we study the extension of the SM with a colored scalar in a diquark model. In addition to the pure diquark box diagrams, it is found that the box diagrams with one $W$-boson and one diquark, ignored in the literature, play an important role in the $ΔS=2$ process. The mass difference between $K_L$ and $K_S$ in the diquark model is well below the current data, whereas the Kaon indirect CP violation $ε_K$ gives a strict constraint on the new parameters. Three mechanisms are classified in the study of $ε'/ε$, and they include: tree-level diagram, QCD and electroweak penguins, and chromomagnetic dipole. Taking the Kobayashi-Maskawa phase as the unique CP source, we analyze each contribution of the three mechanisms in detail and conclude that these diquark-mediated effects can singly enhance $ε'/ε$ to be of ${\cal O}(10^{-3})$, depending on the values of free parameters, when the bound from $ε_K$ is satisfied.

The Kaon direct CP violation $Re(ε'_K/ε_K)$ below the experimental data of a $2σ$ in the standard model, which is calculated using the RBC-UKQCD lattice and a large $N_c$ dual QCD, indicates the necessity of a new physics effect. In order to resolve the insufficient $Re(ε'_K/ε_K)$, we study the charged-Higgs contributions in a generic two-Higgs-doublet model. If we assume that the origin of the CP-violation phase is uniquely from the Kobayashi-Maskawa (KM) phase when the constraints from the $B$- and $K$-meson mixings, $B\to X_s γ$, and Kaon indirect CP violating parameter $ε_K$ are simultaneously taken into account, it is found that the Kaon direct CP violation through the charged-Higgs effects can reach $Re(ε'_K/ε_K)_{H^\pm}\sim 8 \times 10^{-4}$. In this model, the new gauge boson, $Z'$, with a mass lighter than $\mathcal{O}(100)$ MeV, plays a role in explaining the anomalous magnetic moment of muon via one-loop contribution. For the gauge boson to have such a low mass, the scalar boson, $φ$ with $\mathcal{O}(100)$ GeV mass appears associated with the symmetry breaking. We investigate experimental constraints on $U(1)_{L_μ- L_τ}$ gauge coupling, kinetic mixing, and mixing between the SM Higgs and $φ$. Then collider search is discussed considering $φ$ production followed by decay process $φ\to Z' Z'$ at the large hadron collider and the international linear collider. We also estimate discovery significance at the linear collider taking into account relevant kinematical cut effects.

We employ the Cheng-Sher ansatz to suppress the tree-level flavor-changing neutral currents (FCNCs) in the quark sector. When the strict constraints from the $ΔB=2$ and $b\to s γ$ processes are considered, parameters $χ^u_{tq}$ from the quark couplings and $χ^\ell_\ell$ from the lepton couplings dictate the leptonic and semileptonic $B$ decays. It is found that when the measured $B^-_u\to τ\bar ν$ and indirect bound of $B^-_c \to τ\bar ν$ obtained by LEP1 data are taken into account, $R(D)$ and $R(π)$ can have broadly allowed ranges; however, the values of $R(ρ)$ and $R(D^*)$ are limited to approximately the standard model (SM) results. We also find that the same behaviors also occur in the $τ$-lepton polarizations and forward-backward asymmetries ($A^{X_q,τ}_{FB}$) of the semileptonic decays, with the exception of $A^{D^*,τ}_{FB}$, for which the deviation from the SM due to the charged-Higgs effect is still sizable. In addition, the $q^2$-dependent $A^{π,τ}_{FB}$ and $A^{D,τ}_{FB}$ can be very sensitive to the charged-Higgs effects and have completely different shapes from the SM.

Flavor symmetries are useful to realize fermion flavor structures in the standard model. In particular, discrete $A_4$ symmetry is used to realize lepton flavor structures, and some scalars which are called flavon are introduced to break this symmetry. In many models, flavons are assumed to be much heavier than the electroweak scale. However, our previous work showed that flavon mass around 100 GeV is allowed by experimental constraints in the $A_4$ symmetric model with residual $Z_3$ symmetry. In this paper, we discuss collider search of such a light flavon $\varphi_T$. We find that an electron - photon collision, as a considerable option at the international linear collider, has advantages to search for the signals. At the electron - photon collider flavons are produced as $e^-γ\to l^- \varphi_T$ and decay into two charged leptons. Then we analyze signals of flavor-conserving final-state $τ^+ τ^- e^-$, and flavor-violating final-states $τ^+ μ^- μ^-$ and $μ^+ τ^- τ^-$ by carrying out numerical simulation. For the former final-state, SM background can be strongly suppressed by imposing cuts on the invariant masses of final-state leptons. For the later final-states, SM background is extremely small, because in the SM there are no such flavor-violating final-states. We then find that sufficient discovery significance can be obtained, even if flavons are heavier than the lower limits from flavor physics.

In order to achieve the intended purpose, we employ one vector-like doublet lepton and one singlet scalar leptoquark (LQ), in which the new particles all carry the $U(1)_{L_μ-L_τ}$ charges; the $b\to sZ'$ effective interaction is generated from the vector-like lepton and LQ loop, and the $b\to c τ\barν_τ$ decay is induced from the LQ. When the constraints from the $b\to s γ$, $B^+\to K^+ ν\barν$, $B^-_c\to τ\bar ν_τ$, $ΔF=2$, and $τ\to μ\ell \bar \ell$ processes are included, it is found that $R_D$ and $R_{D^*}$ can be enhanced to fit the experimental data, and the Wilson coefficient $C_9$ from the LQ-loop can reach $C^{LQ,μ}_9\sim -1$, which can explain the $R_{K}$ and $R_{K^*}$ anomalies. In addition, in this simple model, the Higgs lepton-flavor violating $h\to μτ$ decay can occur at the tree level, and its branching ratio can be as large as the current experimental upper limit.

$L_μ-L_τ$ gauge boson ($Z'$) with a mass in the MeV to GeV region can resolve not only the muon $g-2$ excess, but also the gap in the high-energy cosmic neutrino spectrum at IceCube. It was recently proposed that such a light gauge boson can be detected during the Belle II experiment with a luminosity of 50 ab$^{-1}$ by the $e^+ e^- \to γ+\slashed{E}$ process through the kinetic mixing with the photon, where the missing energy $\slashed{E}$ is from the $Z' \to \barνν$ decays. We study the phenomenological implications when a pair of singlet vector-like leptons carrying different $L_μ- L_τ$ charges are included, and a complex singlet scalar ($φ_S$) is introduced to accomplish the spontaneous $U(1)_{L_μ-L_τ}$ symmetry breaking. It is found that the extension leads to several phenomena of interest, including (i) branching ratio (BR) for $h\to μτ$ can be of the order of $10^{-3}$; (ii) $φ_S$-mediated muon $g-2$ can be of the order of $10\times 10^{-10}$; (iii) BR for $τ\to μφ^*_S\to μZ'Z'$ can be $10^{-8}$, and (iv) kinetic mixing between the $Z'$ boson and photon is sensitive to the relative heavy lepton masses. The predicted BRs for $τ\to (3μ+\slashed{E}, 5μ$) through the leptonic $Z'$ decays can reach a level of $10^{-9}$, in which the results fall within the sensitivity of the Belle II in the search for the rare tau decays.

In order to investigate the lepton polarization, the detailed decay amplitudes with lepton helicity are given. When the charged-Higgs is used to resolve excesses, it is found that two independent Yukawa couplings are needed to explain the $R_D$ and $R_{D^*}$ anomalies. We show that when the upper limit of $BR(B_c \to τ\bar ν_τ)<30\%$ is included, $R_D$ can be significantly enhanced while $R_{D^*}<0.27$. With the $BR(B_c\to τ\bar ν_τ)$ constraint, we find that the $τ$-lepton polarizations can be still affected by the charged-Higgs effects, where the standard model (SM) predictions are obtained as: $P^τ_{D} \approx 0.324$ and $P^τ_{D^*}\approx -0.500$, and they can be enhanced to be $P^τ_{D} \approx 0.5$ and $P^τ_{D^*} \approx -0.41$ by the charged-Higgs. The integrated lepton froward-backward asymmetry (FBA) is also studied, where the SM result is $\bar A^{D^{(*)},τ}_{FB} \approx -0.359(0.064)$, and they can be enhanced (decreased) to be $\bar A^{D^{(*)},τ}_{FB} \approx -0.33 (0.02)$.

After ignoring the constraints and small couplings, the muon $g-2$ can be explained by the doublet LQ alone due to the $m_t$ enhancement, whereas the measured and unexpected smaller $R_{K^{(*)}}$ requires the combined effects of the doublet and triplet LQs, and the $R_D$ and $R_{D^*}$ excesses depend on the singlet LQ through scalar- and tensor-type interactions.

A charged Higgs in the type II two-Higgs-doublet model (THDM) has been bounded to be above a few hundred GeV by the radiative $B$ decays. A Higgs triplet extension of the THDM not only provides an origin of neutrino masses and a completely new doubly-charged Higgs decay pattern, but it also achieves a light-charged Higgs with a mass of ${\cal O}(100)$ GeV through the new scalar couplings in the scalar potential. It was found that these light-charged Higgs decays depend on its mass $m_{H^\pm}$, $\tanβ$, and mixing effect $\sinθ_\pm$: at $\tanβ=1$, if $m_{H^\pm} > m_W + m_Z$, $\bar b b W^\pm$, $W^\pm Z$, and $τν$ are the main decay modes; however, if $m_{H^\pm} < m_W + m_Z$, the main decay modes are then $\bar b b W$ and $τν$, and at $\tanβ=30$, the $τν$ mode dominates the other decays. When $m_t > m_{H^\pm} + m_b$, we found that the ATLAS and CMS recent upper bounds on the product of $BR(t\to H^+ b)BR(H^+\to τ^+ ν)$ can be directly applied and will give a strict constraint on the correlation of $m_{H^\pm}$ and $\sinθ_\pm$. If the upper bound of $BR(t\to H^+ b)BR(H^+\to τ^+ ν)$ is satisfied (escaped) for $m_t > (<) m_{H^\pm} + m_b$, it was found that the significance of discovering the charged Higgs through $H^\pm \to W^\pm Z$ is much lower than that through $H^\pm \to \bar b b W^\pm$. With a luminosity of 100 fb$^{-1}$ at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV and including the experimental bounds, the significance of the $H^\pm \to \bar b b W^\pm$ signal can reach around $6.2 (2.4)σ$ for $m_{H^\pm} <(>) m_W + m_Z$.

Their thermal relic density, and direct and indirect detection constraints are discussed in detail and we search for the parameter space of the model accommodating dark matter observations. We also discuss constraints from diphoton resonance searches associated with the scalar field which breaks the dark U(1)$_X$, in a way consistent with dark matter physics. In addition, implications for collider physics are discussed, focusing on the production cross section of the scalar boson.
