Observation of the Electromagnetic Dalitz Transition $h_c \rightarrow e^+e^-η_c$

Abstract: Using $(27.12\pm 0.14)\times10^8$ $ψ(3686)$ decays and data samples of $e^+e^-$ collisions with $\sqrt{s}$ from 4.130 to 4.780~GeV collected with the BESIII detector, we report the first observation of the electromagnetic Dalitz transition $h_c\to e^+e^-η_c$ with a statistical significance of $5.4σ$. Development of the front-end electronics for a cost-effective PET-like detector system

Abstract: Most detector systems used for positron emission particle tracking (PEPT) are very expensive due to the use of inorganic plastic scintillators combined with a high number of readout electronic channels. This work aims to reduce the overall cost of a PEPT-capable detector system by using large and cost-effective plastic scintillators and develo** custom 2 x 2 silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) arrays… ▽ More Most detector systems used for positron emission particle tracking (PEPT) are very expensive due to the use of inorganic plastic scintillators combined with a high number of readout electronic channels. This work aims to reduce the overall cost of a PEPT-capable detector system by using large and cost-effective plastic scintillators and develo** custom 2 x 2 silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) arrays, preamplifiers, and discriminators. The use of long (20 mm x 20 mm x 1000 mm) plastic scintillator bars read out with photodetectors only at their respective ends allows an overall smaller number of photodetectors and associated readout electronics, which in turn reduces the overall cost of the system. In addition, the development of a custom SiPM array and preamplifier allows a free selection of interconnection and readout, as most commercial producers only offer specific types of interconnections and therefore lack other connections such as serial or hybrid. Thus, several common circuit types for SiPMs and preamplifiers were tested and compared in this work, and it was found that a serial connection implemented in a hybrid interconnection for the SiPMs and an inverting preamplifier based on a high-frequency operational amplifier provided the best results for the proposed detector system. Measured with a Na-22 source, the combination of SiPM array and preamplifier led to a rise time of 3.7 ns and a signal amplitude of 175 mV. △ Less

A simulation study on spatial and time resolution for a cost-effective positron emission particle tracking system

Abstract: This work is the second part of a simulation study investigating the processing of densely packed and moving granular assemblies by positron emission particle tracking (PEPT). Since medical PET scanners commonly used for PEPT are very expensive, a PET-like detector system based on cost-effective organic plastic scintillator bars is being developed and tested for its capabilities. In this context,… ▽ More This work is the second part of a simulation study investigating the processing of densely packed and moving granular assemblies by positron emission particle tracking (PEPT). Since medical PET scanners commonly used for PEPT are very expensive, a PET-like detector system based on cost-effective organic plastic scintillator bars is being developed and tested for its capabilities. In this context, the spatial resolution of a resting positron source, a source moving on a freely designed model path, and a particle motion given by a DEM (Discrete Element Method) simulation is studied using Monte Carlo simulations and the software toolkit Geant4. This not only extended the simulation and reconstruction to a moving source but also significantly improved the spatial resolution compared to previous work by adding oversampling and iteration to the reconstruction algorithm. Furthermore, in the case of a source following a trajectory developed from DEM simulations, a very good resolution of about 1 mm in all three directions and an average three-dimensional deviation between simulated and reconstructed events of 2.3 mm could be determined. Thus, the resolution for a realistic particle motion within the generic grate system (which is the test rig for further experimental studies) is well below the smallest particle size. The simulation of the dependence of the reconstruction accuracy on tracer particle location revealed a nearly constant efficiency within the entire detector system, which demonstrates that boundary effects can be neglected. △ Less

Search for new hadronic decays of $h_{c}$ and observation of $h_{c}\to p\bar{p}η$

Abstract: A search for the hadronic decays of the $h_{c}$ meson to the final states $p\bar{p}π^{+}π^{-}π^{0}$, $p\bar{p}η$, and $p\bar{p}π^0$ via the process $ψ(3686) \to π^{0}{h_c}$ is performed using $(4.48\pm0.03)\times10^{8}$ $ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector. The decay channel $h_{c}\to p\bar{p}η$ is observed for the first time with a significance greater than $5σ$ and a branching fraction of $\left( {6.41 \pm 1.74 \pm 0.53 \pm 1.00} \right) \times {10^{ -4}}$, where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and that from the branching fraction of $ψ(3686)\toπ^{0}h_{c}$. Strong evidence for the decay ${h_c} \to p\bar{p}{π^+}{π^-}{π^0}$ is found with a significance of $4.9σ$ and a branching fraction of $\left( {3.84 \pm 0.83 \pm0.69} \pm 0.58 \right) \times {10^{ - 3}}$. The significances include systematic uncertainties. No clear signal of the decay $h_c\to p\bar{p}π^{0}$ is found, and an upper limit of $6.59\times 10^{-4}$ on its branching fraction is set at the 90% confidence level. △ Less

First Measurement of the Absolute Branching Fraction of $Λ\to p μ^- \barν_μ$

Abstract: The absolute branching fraction of $Λ\to p μ^- \barν_μ$ is reported for the first time based on an $e^+e^-$ annihilation sample of ten billion $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector at $\sqrt{s}=3.097$ GeV. The first amplitude analysis of this decay reveals the sub-structures in $D^{+}_{s}\rightarrow π^{+}π^{+}π^{-}η$ and determines the relative fractions and the phases among these sub-structures. The dominant intermediate process is $D^{+}_{s}\rightarrow a_1(1260)^+ η, a_1(1260)^+ \rightarrow ρ(770)^0π^+$ with a branching fraction of $(1.73 \pm 0.14_{\rm stat.} \pm 0.08_{\rm syst.})$%. We also observe the W-annihilation process $D^{+}_{s}\rightarrow a_0(980)^+ρ(770)^0$, $a_0(980)^+ \to π^+ η$ with a branching fraction of $(0.21\pm0.08_{\rm stat.}\pm0.05_{\rm syst.})$%, which is larger than the branching fractions of other measured pure W-annihilation decays by one order of magnitude. △ Less

From a fit to these observed cross sections with the sum of continuum and $ψ(3686)$ and $J/ψ$ Breit-Wigner functions and considering ini… ▽ More Using 5.9~pb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ annihilation data collected at center-of-mass energies from 3.640 to 3.701 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII Collider, we measure the observed cross sections of $e^+e^-\rightarrow K_{S}^{0} X$ (where $X= \text{anything}$). From a fit to these observed cross sections with the sum of continuum and $ψ(3686)$ and $J/ψ$ Breit-Wigner functions and considering initial state radiation and the BEPCII beam energy spread, we obtain for the first time the product of $ψ(3686)$ leptonic width and inclusive decay branching fraction $Γ^{ee}_{ψ(3686)}\mathcal B(ψ(3686)\rightarrow K_{S}^{0} X) = (373.8 \pm 6.7 \pm 20.0)$ eV, and assuming $Γ^{ee}_{ψ(3686)}$ is $(2.33 \pm 0.04)$ keV from PDG value, we measure $\mathcal B(ψ(3686)\rightarrow K_{S}^{0} X) = (16.04 \pm 0.29 \pm 0.90)\%$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. △ Less

Abstract: By analyzing an $e^+e^-$ annihilation data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $2.93~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ collected at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the branching fraction of the $D^0\to ρ^- μ^+ν_μ$ decay for the first time. We obtain ${\mathcal B}_{D^0\to ρ^- μ^+ν_μ}=(1.35\pm0.09_{\rm stat}\pm0.09_{\rm syst})\times 10^{-3}$. Using the world… ▽ More By analyzing an $e^+e^-$ annihilation data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $2.93~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ collected at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the branching fraction of the $D^0\to ρ^- μ^+ν_μ$ decay for the first time. We obtain ${\mathcal B}_{D^0\to ρ^- μ^+ν_μ}=(1.35\pm0.09_{\rm stat}\pm0.09_{\rm syst})\times 10^{-3}$. Using the world average of ${\mathcal B}_{D^0\to ρ^- e^+ν_e}$, we find a branching fraction ratio of ${\mathcal B}_{D^0\to ρ^- μ^+ν_μ}/{\mathcal B}_{D^0\to ρ^- e^+ν_e}=0.90\pm0.11$, which agrees with the theoretical expectation of lepton flavor universality within the uncertainty. Combining the world average of ${\mathcal B}_{D^+\to ρ^0 μ^+ ν_μ}$ and the lifetimes of $D^{0(+)}$, we obtain a partial decay width ratio of $Γ_{D^0\to ρ^- μ^+ ν_μ}/(2Γ_{D^+\to ρ^0 μ^+ ν_μ}) = 0.71\pm0.14$, which is consistent with the isospin symmetry expectation of one within $2.1σ$. For the reported values of ${\mathcal B}_{D^0\to ρ^- μ^+ν_μ}/{\mathcal B}_{D^0\to ρ^- e^+ν_e}$ and $Γ_{D^0\to ρ^- μ^+ ν_μ}/2Γ_{D^+\to ρ^0 μ^+ ν_μ}$, the uncertainty is the quadratic sum of the statistical and systematic uncertainties. △ Less

Combining our result with the world averages of $\mathcal{B}_{D_s^+ \to τ^+ ν_τ}$ and $\mathcal{B}_{D_s^+ \to μ^+ ν_μ}$, we obtain the ratio of the branching fractions $\mathcal{B}_{D_s^+ \to τ^+ ν_τ} / \mathcal{B}_{D_s^+ \to μ^+ ν_μ} = 9.72\pm0.37$, which is consistent with the standard model prediction of lepton flavor universality. △ Less

A new method, exploiting the fact that the $Ξ^-\overlineΞ^+$ pair is entangled and sequentially decaying, and where the com… ▽ More Using a sample of $1.31\times10^9$ $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector at the electron-positron collider BEPCII, we analyse the full $J/ψ\to$ $Ξ^-\overlineΞ^+$, $Ξ^-\to Λπ^-$, $Λ\to pπ^-$, $\overlineΞ^+\to\overlineΛπ^+$, $\overlineΛ\to\overline{p}π^+$ decay chain. A new method, exploiting the fact that the $Ξ^-\overlineΞ^+$ pair is entangled and sequentially decaying, and where the complete decay chains are reconstructed, is applied for the first time. This enables precision measurements of the decay parameters for the $Ξ^-\toΛπ^-$ decay ($α_Ξ$, $φ_Ξ$) as well as the $\overlineΞ^+\to\overlineΛπ^+$ decay ($\overlineα_Ξ$, $\overlineφ_Ξ$). From the decay parameters, two independent CP tests were performed, quantified by the observables $A_{\rm CP}^Ξ$ and $Δφ_Ξ$. Our results, $A_{\rm CP}^Ξ$ = $(6.0\pm13.4\pm5.6)\times10^{-3}$ and $Δφ_Ξ= (-4.8\pm13.7\pm2.9)\times10^{-3}~{\rm rad}$, are consistent with CP symmetry. Furthermore, our method enables a separation of strong and weak $Ξ\toΛπ$ decay amplitudes. This results in the first direct measurement of the weak phase difference for any baryon decay. The result is found to be $(ξ_{P} - ξ_{S}) = (1.2\pm3.4\pm0.8)\times10^{-2}$ rad and is one of the most precise tests of CP symmetry for strange baryons. The strong phase difference is measured to be $(δ_P - δ_S) = (-4.0\pm3.3\pm1.7)\times10^{-2}$ rad. In addition, we provide an independent measurement of the recently debated $Λ$ decay parameter, $α_Λ = 0.757 \pm 0.011 \pm 0.008 $. The $Λ\overlineΛ$ asymmetry is measured to be $A_{\rm CP}^Λ = (-3.7\pm11.7\pm9.0)\times10^{-3}$. △ Less

Abstract: The process $e^+ e^- \to φΛ\barΛ$ is studied using data samples collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider at center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}$ ranging from $3.51$ to $4.60~{\rm GeV}$ . An intermediate resonance structure is observed near the threshold of $Λ\barΛ$. Determination of the absolute branching fractions of $D^0\to K^-e^+ν_e$ and $D^+\to \bar K^0 e^+ν_e$

Abstract: Using 2.93 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected with the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV, we measure the absolute branching fractions of the decays $D^0\to K^-e^+ν_e$ and $D^+\to \bar K^0 e^+ν_e$ to be $(3.567\pm0.031_{\rm stat}\pm 0.025_{\rm syst})\%$ and $(8.68\pm0.14_{\rm stat}\pm 0.16_{\rm syst})\%$, respectively. Starting with the process… ▽ More Using 2.93 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collision data collected with the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV, we measure the absolute branching fractions of the decays $D^0\to K^-e^+ν_e$ and $D^+\to \bar K^0 e^+ν_e$ to be $(3.567\pm0.031_{\rm stat}\pm 0.025_{\rm syst})\%$ and $(8.68\pm0.14_{\rm stat}\pm 0.16_{\rm syst})\%$, respectively. Starting with the process $e^+e^-\to D\bar{D}$, a new reconstruction method is employed to select events that contain candidates for both $D\to \bar Ke^+ν_e$ and $\bar D\to Ke^-\bar ν_e$ decays. The branching fractions reported in this work are consistent within uncertainties with previous BESIII measurements that selected events containing $D\to \bar Ke^+ν_e$ and hadronic $\bar D$ decays. Combining our results with the lifetimes of the $D^0$ and $D^+$ mesons and the previous BESIII measurements leads to a ratio of the two decay partial widths of $\frac{\bar Γ_{D^0\to K^{-}e^+ν_{e}}}{\bar Γ_{D^{+}\to \bar K^{0}e^+ν_{e}}}=1.039\pm0.021$. This ratio supports isospin symmetry in the $D^0\to K^-e^+ν_e$ and $D^+\to \bar K^0 e^+ν_e$ decays within $1.9σ$. △ Less

We select positrons from $D_s^+\rightarrow Xe^{+}ν_e$ with momenta greater than 200 MeV/$c$, and determine the laboratory momentum spectrum, accounting for the effects of detector efficiency and resolution. The total positron yield and semielectronic branching fraction are determined by extrapolating this spectrum below the momentum cutoff. We measure the $D_s^+$ semielectronic branching fraction to be $\mathcal{B}\left(D_s^+\rightarrow Xe^{+}ν_e\right)=\left(6.30\pm0.13\;(\text{stat.})\pm 0.10\;(\text{syst.})\right)\%$, showing no evidence for unobserved exclusive semielectronic modes. We combine this result with external data taken from literature to determine the ratio of the $D_s^+$ and $D^0$ semielectronic widths, $\frac{Γ(D_{s}^{+}\rightarrow Xe^+ν_e)}{Γ(D^0\rightarrow Xe^+ν_e)}=0.790\pm 0.016\;(\text{stat.})\pm0.020\;(\text{syst.})$. Abstract: Based on $4.481\times10^8$ $ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, the branching fraction of the isospin violating decay $ψ(3686)\rightarrow\barΣ^{0}Λ+c.c.$ is measured to be $(1.60 \pm 0.31 \pm 0.13~\pm~0.58) \times 10^{-6}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third is the uncertainty arising from interference with the continuum. New Features in the Electromagnetic Structure of the Neutron

Abstract: Here we present new results for the Born cross section and the effective form factor of the neutron at the center-of-mass energies ${\bf \sqrt{s}}$ between 2.0 and 3.08 GeV, using 18 data sets corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 647.9 pb${\bf ^{-1}}$ from e${\bf ^+}$e${\bf ^-}$ annihilation reactions collected at the BESIII experiment. The process $e^{+}e^{-}\to n\bar{n}$ is analyzed with… ▽ More Here we present new results for the Born cross section and the effective form factor of the neutron at the center-of-mass energies ${\bf \sqrt{s}}$ between 2.0 and 3.08 GeV, using 18 data sets corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 647.9 pb${\bf ^{-1}}$ from e${\bf ^+}$e${\bf ^-}$ annihilation reactions collected at the BESIII experiment. The process $e^{+}e^{-}\to n\bar{n}$ is analyzed with three individual categories to improve the efficiency of $n\bar{n}$ reconstruction. The cross section of $e^{+}e^{-}\to n\bar{n}$ is measured at 18 c.m. energies where the best precision is 8.1\% at $\sqrt{s}=2.396$ GeV. The corresponding effective form factors are extracted under the assumption $|G_{E}|=|G_{M}|$. Our results improve the statistical precision on the neutron form factor by more than a factor of 60 over previous measurements from the FENICE and DM2 experiments and usher in a new era where neutron form factor data from annihilation in the time-like regime is on par with that from electron scattering experiments. In addition, an oscillatory behavior of the effective form factor observed for the proton is discussed for the neutron. △ Less

These parameters are critical inputs in the measurement of the angle $γ$ of the Unitarity Triangle in $B^- \to DK^-$ decays at the LHCb and Belle II experiments. The coherence factors are determined to be $R_{K3π}=0.52^{+0.12}_{-0.10}$ and $R_{Kππ^0}=0.78 \pm 0.04$, with values for the average strong-phase differences that are $δ_D^{K3π}=\left(167^{+31}_{-19}\right)^\circ$ and $δ_D^{Kππ^0}=\left(196^{+14}_{-15}\right)^\circ$, where the uncertainties include both statistical and systematic contributions. The analysis is re-performed in four bins of the phase-space of the $D \to K^-π^+π^+π^-$ to yield results that will allow for a more sensitive measurement of $γ$ with this mode, to which the BESIII inputs will contribute an uncertainty of around 6$^\circ$. △ Less

Abstract: Using a total of $5.25~{\rm fb}^{-1}$ of $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data with center-of-mass energies from 4.236 to 4.600 GeV, we report the first observation of the process $e^{+}e^{-}\to ηψ(2S)$ with a statistical significance of $5σ$. Measurement of the absolute branching fractions for purely leptonic $D_s^+$ decays

Abstract: We report new measurements of the branching fraction $\cal B(D_s^+\to \ell^+ν)$, where $\ell^+$ is either $μ^+$ or $τ^+(\toπ^+\barν_τ)$, based on $6.32$ fb$^{-1}$ of electron-positron annihilation data collected by the BESIII experiment at six center-of-mass energy points between $4.178$ and $4.226$ GeV. Simultaneously floating the $D_s^+\toμ^+ν_μ$ and $D_s^+\toτ^+ν_τ$ components yields $\cal B(D_s^+\to τ^+ν_τ) = (5.21\pm0.25\pm0.17)\times10^{-2}$, $\cal B(D_s^+\to μ^+ν_μ) = (5.35\pm0.13\pm0.16)\times10^{-3}$, and the ratio of decay widths $R=\frac{Γ(D_s^+\to τ^+ν_τ)}{Γ(D_s^+\to μ^+ν_μ)} = 9.73^{+0.61}_{-0.58}\pm 0.36$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. No evidence of ${\it CP}$ asymmetry is observed in the decay rates $D_s^\pm\toμ^\pmν_μ$ and $D_s^\pm\toτ^\pmν_τ$: $A_{\it CP}(μ^\pmν) = (-1.2\pm2.5\pm1.0)\%$ and $A_{\it CP}(τ^\pmν) = (+2.9\pm4.8\pm1.0)\%$. Constraining our measurement to the Standard Model expectation of lepton universality ($R=9.75$), we find the more precise results $\cal B(D_s^+\to τ^+ν_τ) = (5.22\pm0.10\pm 0.14)\times10^{-2}$ and $A_{\it CP}(τ^\pmν_τ) = (-0.1\pm1.9\pm1.0)\%$. Combining our results with inputs external to our analysis, we determine the $c\to \bar{s}$ quark mixing matrix element, $D_s^+$ decay constant, and ratio of the decay constants to be $|V_{cs}| = 0.973\pm0.009\pm0.014$, $f_{D^+_s} = 249.9\pm2.4\pm3.5~\text{MeV}$, and $f_{D^+_s}/f_{D^+} = 1.232\pm0.035$, respectively. △ Less

Observation of $D^0\to K_1(1270)^- e^+ν_e$

The process $ψ_2(3823)\rightarrowγχ_{c1}$ is observed in a 9 fb$^{-1}$ data sample in the center-of-mass energy range 4.3 to 4.7 GeV, which confirms a previous observation but with a higher significance of $11.8σ$, and evidence for $ψ_2(3823)\rightarrowγχ_{c2}$ is found with a significance of $3.2σ$ for the first time. The branching-fraction ratio $\frac{\mathcal{B}(ψ_2(3823)\rightarrowγχ_{c2})}{\mathcal{B}(ψ_2(3823)\rightarrowγχ_{c1})}$ is determined. No significant $ψ_2(3823)$ signals are observed for any of the other decay channels. Upper limits of branching-fraction ratios for $ψ_2(3823)\rightarrowπ^+π^-J/ψ, π^0π^0J/ψ, ηJ/ψ, π^0J/ψ, γχ_{c0}$ relative to $ψ_2(3823)\rightarrowγχ_{c1}$ are reported. The process $e^+e^-\rightarrowπ^0π^0ψ_2(3823)$ is also searched for, and we find evidence for the process with a significance of $4.3σ$. The future antiProton ANnihilations at DArmstadt (PANDA or $\overline{\rm P}$ANDA) experiment at FAIR will offer a broad physics programme, covering different aspects of the strong interaction. The future antiProton ANnihilations at DArmstadt (PANDA or $\overline{\rm P}$ANDA) experiment at FAIR will offer a broad physics programme, covering different aspects of the strong interaction. Understanding the latter in the non-perturbative regime remains one of the greatest challenges in contemporary physics. The antiproton-nucleon interaction studied with PANDA provides crucial tests in this area. Furthermore, the high-intensity, low-energy domain of PANDA allows for searches for physics beyond the Standard Model, e.g. through high precision symmetry tests. This paper takes into account a staged approach for the detector setup and for the delivered luminosity from the accelerator. The available detector setup at the time of the delivery of the first antiproton beams in the HESR storage ring is referred to as the \textit{Phase One} setup. These data samples are primarily used for the study of excited charmonium and charmoniumlike states. These data samples are primarily used for the study of excited charmonium and charmoniumlike states. By analyzing the di-muon process $e^{+}e^{-} \to (γ_{\rm ISR/FSR}) μ^{+}μ^{-}$, we measure the center-of-mass energies of the data samples with a precision of 0.6 MeV. Abstract: The Born cross sections for the process $e^+e^- \to η^\prime π^{+}π^{-}$ at different center-of-mass energies between $2.00$ and $3.08$ GeV are reported with improved precision from an analysis of data samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring. An obvious structure is observed in the Born cross section line shape. Search for the $X(2370)$ and observation of $η_{c}\toηηη^\prime$ in $J/ψ\toγηηη^{\prime}$

Abstract: Using a sample of $1.31\times10^{9} ~J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector, we perform a study of $J/ψ\toγηηη^{\prime}$ to search for the $X(2370)$ and $η_{c}$ in the $ηηη^{\prime}$ invariant mass distribution. Observation of di-structures in $e^+e^-\rightarrow{J}/ψ{\rm X}$ at center-of-mass energies around 3.773 GeV

Abstract: We report a measurement of the observed cross sections of the inclusive $J/ψ$ production in $e^+e^-\rightarrow {J}/ψ{\rm X}$ based on 3.21 fb$^{-1}$ of data accumulated at energies from 3.645 to 3.891 GeV with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII collider. The energy-dependent lineshape obtained from the measured cross sections cannot be well described by two Breit-Wigner (BW) amplitudes of… ▽ More We report a measurement of the observed cross sections of the inclusive $J/ψ$ production in $e^+e^-\rightarrow {J}/ψ{\rm X}$ based on 3.21 fb$^{-1}$ of data accumulated at energies from 3.645 to 3.891 GeV with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII collider. The energy-dependent lineshape obtained from the measured cross sections cannot be well described by two Breit-Wigner (BW) amplitudes of the expected decays $ψ(3686)\rightarrow {J}/ψ{\rm X}$ and $ψ(3770)\rightarrow {J}/ψ{\rm X}$. Instead it can be better described with three BW amplitudes of the decays $ψ(3686)\rightarrow {J}/ψ{\rm X}$, $R(3760)\rightarrow {J}/ψ{\rm X}$ and $R(3790)\rightarrow {J}/ψ{\rm X}$ with two distinct structures referred to as $R(3760)$ and $R(3790)$. Under this assumption, we extracted their masses, total widths, and the product of the leptonic width and decay branching fractions to be $M_{R(3760)}= {3761.7\pm 2.2 \pm 1.2}$ MeV/$c^2$, $Γ^{\rm tot}_{R(3760)}= {6.7\pm 11.1 \pm 1.1}$ MeV, $Γ^{ee}_{R(3760)}\mathcal B[R(3760)\rightarrow {J}/ψ{\rm X}]=(4.0\pm 4.3\pm 1.2)$ eV, $M_{R(3790)} = {3784.7\pm 5.7 \pm 1.6}$ MeV/$c^2$, $Γ^{\rm tot}_{R(3790)} = {31.6 \pm 11.9 \pm 3.2}$ MeV, $Γ^{ee}_{R(3790)}\mathcal B[R(3790)\rightarrow {J}/ψ{\rm X}]=(18.1\pm 10.3\pm 4.7)$ eV, where the first uncertainties are statistical and second systematic. △ Less

The search is performed using five large data sets recorded at center-of-mass energies of 4.23, 4.26, 4.36, 4.42, and 4.60 GeV. The $η_c$ meson is reconstructed in 16 exclusive decay modes.
