Search for solar axions by Primakoff effect with the full dataset of the CDEX-1B Experiment

Abstract: We present the first limit on $g_{Aγ}$ coupling constant using the Bragg-Primakoff conversion based on an exposure of 1107.5 kg days of data from the CDEX-1B experiment at the China **** Underground Laboratory. The data are consistent with the null signal hypothesis, and no excess signals are observed. There is a novel concept that detecting $χ$ from evaporating primordial black holes (PBHs). We search for $χ$ emitted from PBHs by investigating their interaction with target electrons. Using 205.4 kg$\cdot$day data obtained from the CDEX-10 experiment conducted in the China **** Underground Laboratory, we exclude the $χ$--electron ($χ$--$e$) elastic-scattering cross section $σ_{χe} \sim 5\times10^{-29}$ cm$^2$ for $χ$ with a mass $m_χ\lesssim$ 0.1 keV from our results. In this Letter, a velocity components analysis (VCA) method dedicated to swift analysis of accelerated DM-electron interactions via semiconductor detectors is proposed and the first HPGe detector-based accelerated DM-electron analysis is realized. Utilizing the method, the first germanium based constraint on sub-GeV solar reflected DM-electron interaction is presented with the 205.4 kg$\cdot$day dataset from the CDEX-10 experiment. In the heavy mediator scenario, our result excels in the mass range of 5$-$15 keV/$c^2$, achieving a 3 orders of magnitude improvement comparing with previous semiconductor experiments. In the light mediator scenario, the strongest laboratory constraint for DM lighter than 0.1 MeV/$c^2$ is presented. The result proves the feasibility and demonstrates the vast potential of the VCA technique in future accelerated DM-electron analyses with semiconductor detectors. △ Less

Based on the baseline model, the projected sensitivity of weakly interacting massive particle (WIMP) is also presented. The expected background level within the energy region of interest, set to 2--2.5 keVee, is $\sim$0.01 counts keVee$^{-1}$ kg$^{-1}$ day$^{-1}$. At 90\% confidence level, the expected sensitivity to spin-independent WIMP-nucleon couplings is estimated to reach a cross-section of 5.1 $\times$ 10$^{-45}$ cm$^{2}$ for a WIMP mass of 5 GeV/c$^{2}$ with an exposure objective of 150 kg$\cdot$year and an analysis threshold of 160 eVee. Investigation of the tetraquark states $Qq\bar{Q} \bar{q}$ in the improved chromomagnetic interaction model

Abstract: In the framework of the improved chromomagnetic interaction model, we complete a systematic study of the $S$-wave tetraquark states $Qq\bar{Q}\bar{q}$ ($Q=c,b$, and $q=u,d,s$) with different quantum numbers, $J^{PC}=0^{+(+)}$, $1^{+(\pm)}$, and $2^{+(+)}$. The mass spectra of tetraquark states are predicted and the possible decay channels are analyzed by considering both the angular momentum and… ▽ More In the framework of the improved chromomagnetic interaction model, we complete a systematic study of the $S$-wave tetraquark states $Qq\bar{Q}\bar{q}$ ($Q=c,b$, and $q=u,d,s$) with different quantum numbers, $J^{PC}=0^{+(+)}$, $1^{+(\pm)}$, and $2^{+(+)}$. The mass spectra of tetraquark states are predicted and the possible decay channels are analyzed by considering both the angular momentum and $\mathcal{C}$-parity conservation. The recently observed hidden-charm tetraquark states with strangeness, such as $Z_{cs}(3985)^-$, $X(3960)$, and $Z_{cs}(4220)^+$, can be well explained in our model. Besides, based on the wave function of each tetraquark state, we find that the low-lying states of each $Qq\bar{Q}\bar{q}$ configuration have a large overlap to the $Q\bar Q$ and $q\bar q$ meson basis, instead of $Q\bar q$ and $q\bar Q$ meson basis. This indicates one can search these tetraquark states in future experiments via the channel of $Q\bar Q$ and $q\bar q$ mesons. △ Less

Observation of $η^{\prime}\toωe^{+} e^{-}$

Abstract: Based on a sample of \etapr mesons produced in the radiative decay $J/ψ\toγη^{\prime}$ in $1.31\times 10^9$ $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector, the decay $η^{\prime}\toωe^{+} e^{-}$ is observed for the first time, with a statistical significance of $8σ$. The branching fraction is measured to be… ▽ More Based on a sample of \etapr mesons produced in the radiative decay $J/ψ\toγη^{\prime}$ in $1.31\times 10^9$ $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector, the decay $η^{\prime}\toωe^{+} e^{-}$ is observed for the first time, with a statistical significance of $8σ$. The branching fraction is measured to be $\mathcal{B}(η^{\prime}\toωe^{+} e^{-})=(1.97\pm0.34(\text{stat})\pm0.17(\text{syst}))\times10^{-4}$, which is in agreement with theoretical predictions. The branching fraction of $η^{\prime}\toωγ$ is also measured to be $(2.55\pm0.03(\text{stat})\pm0.16(\text{syst}))\times10^{-2}$, which is the most precise measurement to date, and the relative branching fraction $\frac{\mathcal{B}(η^{\prime}\to ωe^{+}e^{-})}{\mathcal{B}(η^{\prime}\to ωγ)}$ is determined to be $(7.71\pm1.34(\text{stat})\pm0.54(\text{syst}))\times10^{-3}$. △ Less

Study of J/psi->eta phi pi+pi- at BESIII

The $Y(2175)$ resonance is observed in the invariant mass spectrum of $φf_{0}(980)$ with a statistical significance of greater than $10σ$. The results are consistent within errors with those of previous experiments. We also measure the branching fraction of $J/ψ\to φf_1(1285)$ with $f_1(1285)\to ηπ^{+}π^{-}$ and set upper limits on the branching fractions for $J/ψ\to φη(1405)$/$φX(1835)$/$φX(1870)$ with $η(1405)$/$X(1835)$/$X(1870)\to ηπ^{+}π^{-}$ at the 90\% confidence level. △ Less

Precision measurement of the $D^{*0}$ decay branching fractions

Abstract: Using data samples collected at center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s} = 4.23$, 4.26, and 4.36 GeV with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring, we search for the production of the charmoniumlike state $Y(4140)$ through a radiative transition followed by its decay to $φJ/ψ$. Abstract: Using a sample of $2.25\times 10^8$ $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we search for the $J/ψ$ semi-leptonic weak decay $J/ψ\to D^{-}_{s} e^{+}ν_{e}+c.c.$ with a much higher sensitivity than previous searches. By examining the $ωχ_{c0}$ cross section as a function of center-of-mass energy, we find that it is inconsistent with the line shape of the $Y(4260)$ observed in $e^+ e^-\toπ^+π^-J/ψ$. Assuming the $ωχ_{c0}$ signals come from a single resonance, we extract mass and width of the resonance to be $(4230\pm8\pm6)$ MeV/$c^2$ and $(38\pm12\pm2)$ MeV, respectively, and the statistical significance is more than $9σ$. △ Less

Observation of $e^+e^-\to π^0π^0 h_c$ and a neutral charmoniumlike structure $Z_c(4020)^0$

Abstract: Using data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the Bei**g Electron Positron Collider at center-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s}=4.23$, 4.26, and 4.36~GeV, we observe $\EE\to \pphc$ for the first time. The Born cross sections are measured and found to be about half of those of $\EE\to π^+π^-h_c$ within less than 2$σ$. In the $π^0h_c$ mass spectrum, a structure at 4.02~GeV/$c^2$ is found.… ▽ More Using data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the Bei**g Electron Positron Collider at center-of-mass energies of $\sqrt{s}=4.23$, 4.26, and 4.36~GeV, we observe $\EE\to \pphc$ for the first time. It is most likely to be the neutral isospin partner of the $\zcp^{\pm}$ observed in the process of $\EE\to π^+π^-h_c$ is found. A fit to the $π^0 h_c$ invariant mass spectrum, with the width of the $\zcpn$ fixed to that of its charged isospin partner and possible interferences with non-$\zcpn$ amplitudes neglected, gives a mass of ($4023.9\pm 2.2 \pm 3.8$)~MeV/$c^2$ for the $\zcpn$, where the first error is statistical and the second systematic. △ Less

The Born cross section of $p \overline{p} π^0$ in the vicinity of the $ψ(3770)$ is measured and the Born cross section of $ψ(3770)\rightarrow p \overline{p} π^0$ is ext… ▽ More The process $e^+e^-\rightarrow p\overline{p}π^0$ has been studied by analyzing data collected at $\sqrt{s}=3.773$ GeV, at $\sqrt{s}=3.650$ GeV, and during a $ψ(3770)$ line shape scan with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The Born cross section of $p \overline{p} π^0$ in the vicinity of the $ψ(3770)$ is measured and the Born cross section of $ψ(3770)\rightarrow p \overline{p} π^0$ is extracted considering interference between resonant and continuum production amplitudes. Two solutions with the same probability and a significance of 1.5$σ$ are found, and the Born cross section of $ψ(3770)\rightarrow p \overline{p} π^0$ is determined to be less than 0.22 pb at 90% confidence level and $33.8\pm1.8\pm2.1$ pb, respectively. Using the estimated cross section and a constant decay amplitude approximation, the cross section $σ(p\overline{p} \rightarrow ψ(3770) π^0)$ is calculated for the kinematic situation of the planned $\overline{\text{P}}\text{ANDA}$ experiment. The maximum cross section corresponding to the two solutions is expected to be less than $0.79$ nb at 90% confidence level and $122\pm10$ nb at a center of mass energy of 5.26 GeV. △ Less

Abstract: An energy scan near the $τ$ pair production threshold has been performed using the BESIII detector. About $24$ pb$^{-1}$ of data, distributed over four scan points, was collected. This analysis is based on $τ$ pair decays to $ee$, $eμ$, $eh$, $μμ$, $μh$, $hh$, $eρ$, $μρ$ and $πρ$ final states, where $h$ denotes a charged $π$ or $K$. We measure the asymmetry $\mathcal{A}^{CP}_{Kπ}$ of the branching fractions of $D \to K^-π^+$ in $CP$-odd and $CP$-even eigenstates to be $(12.7\pm1.3\pm0.7)\times10^{-2}$. $\mathcal{A}^{CP}_{Kπ}$ can be used to extract the strong ph… ▽ More We study $D^0\overline{D}{}^0$ pairs produced in $e^+e^-$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=3.773$ GeV using a data sample of 2.92 fb$^{-1}$ collected with the BESIII detector. We measure the asymmetry $\mathcal{A}^{CP}_{Kπ}$ of the branching fractions of $D \to K^-π^+$ in $CP$-odd and $CP$-even eigenstates to be $(12.7\pm1.3\pm0.7)\times10^{-2}$. $\mathcal{A}^{CP}_{Kπ}$ can be used to extract the strong phase difference $δ_{Kπ}$ between the doubly Cabibbo-suppressed process $\overline{D}{}^{0}\to K^-π^+$ and the Cabibbo-favored process $D^0\to K^- π^+$. Using world-average values of external parameters, we obtain $\cosδ_{Kπ} = 1.02\pm0.11\pm0.06\pm0.01$. Here, the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively, while the third uncertainty arises from the external parameters. Abstract: Using a sample of $1.3\times 10^9$ $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector, we report the first observation of $η^{\prime}\toπ^{+}π^{-}π^{+}π^{-}$ and $η^{\prime}\toπ^{+}π^{-}π^{0}π^{0}$. The cross section of $e^+e^-\rightarrowψ(3770)\rightarrow p\bar{p}$, $σ(e^+e^-\rightarrowψ(3770)\rightarrow p\bar{p})$, is found to have two solutions, determined to be ($0.059\pm0.032\pm0.012$) pb with the phase angle $φ= (255.8\pm37.9\pm4.8)^\circ$ ($<$0.11 pb at the 90% confidence level), or $σ(e^+e^-\rightarrowψ(3770)\rightarrow p\bar{p}) = (2.57\pm0.12\pm0.12$) pb with $φ= (266.9\pm6.1\pm0.9)^\circ$ both of which agree with a destructive interference. Using the obtained cross section of $ψ(3770)\rightarrow p\bar{p}$, the cross section of $p\bar{p}\rightarrow ψ(3770)$, which is useful information for the future PANDA experiment, is estimated to be either ($9.8\pm5.7$) nb ($<17.2$ nb at 90% C.L.) or $(425.6\pm42.9)$ nb. △ Less

Abstract: We perform an analysis of the $D^+ \to K^0_S π^+ π^0$ Dalitz plot using a data set of 2.92 fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collisions at the $ψ(3770)$ mass accumulated by the BESIII Experiment, in which 166694 candidate events are selected with a background of 15.1%. Additionally, using this branching fraction measurement together with a Lattice QCD prediction for $f_{D^+}$, we find $|V_{\rm cd}|=0.2210\pm 0.0058 \pm 0.0047$. Abstract: With data samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring at center-of-mass energies from 4.009 to 4.420 GeV, the process $e^{+} e^{-} \to γX(3872)$ is observed for the first time with a statistical significance of $6.3σ$. The measured mass of the $X(3872)$ is ($3871.9\pm 0.7_{\rm stat.}\pm 0.2_{\rm sys.}$) MeV/$c^2$, in agreement with previous measurements. Abstract: We study e+e- --> pi+pi-h_c at center-of-mass energies from 3.90 GeV to 4.42 GeV using data samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at the Bei**g Electron Positron Collider. The Born cross sections are measured at 13 energies, and are found to be of the same order of magnitude as those of e+e- --> pi+pi-J/psi but with a different line shape. A fit to the π^\pm h_c invariant mass spectrum, neglecting possible interferences, results in a mass of (4022.9\pm 0.8\pm 2.7) MeV/c^2 and a width of (7.9\pm 2.7\pm 2.6) MeV for the Z_c(4020), where the first errors are statistical and the second systematic. Abstract: Based on $(106.41 \pm 0.86)\times 10^{6}$ $ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, the branching fractions of $ψ(3686) \to π^+π^- J/ψ$, $J/ψ\to e^+e^- $, and $J/ψ\to μ^+μ^-$ are measured. The measured $J/ψ$ leptonic decay branching fractions agree with previous experiments within one standard deviation. These results lead to ${\cal B}[J/ψ\to l^+l^-] = (5.978 \pm 0.005 \pm 0.040)%$ by averaging over the $e^{+}e^{-}$ and $μ^{+}μ^{-}$ channels and a ratio of ${\cal B}[J/ψ\to e^+e^-] / {\cal B}[J/ψ\to μ^+μ^-] = 1.0017 \pm 0.0017 \pm 0.0033$, which tests $e$-$μ$ universality at the four tenths of a percent level. The Born cross section is measured to be (62.9\pm 1.9\pm 3.7) pb, consistent with the production of the Y(4260). We observe a structure at around 3.9 GeV/c^2 in the π^\pm J/psi mass spectrum, which we refer to as the Z_c(3900). If interpreted as a new particle, it is unusual in that it carries an electric charge and couples to charmonium. A fit to the π^\pm J/psi invariant mass spectrum, neglecting interference, results in a mass of (3899.0\pm 3.6\pm 4.9) MeV/c^2 and a width of (46\pm 10\pm 20) MeV. Abstract: Based on a sample of $2.25\times 10^{8}$ $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, a full partial wave analysis on $J/ψ\toγηη$ was performed using the relativistic covariant tensor amplitude method. The results show that the dominant $0^{++}$ and $2^{++}$ components are from the $f_0(1710)$, $f_0(2100)$, $f_0(1500)$, $f_2'(1525)$, $f_2(1810)$ and $f_2(2340)$. A partial wave analysis with a tensor covariant amplitude that assumes that the enhancement is due to the presence of a resonance, the X(1810), is performed, and confirms that the spin-parity of the X(1810) is $0^{++}$. The mass and width of the X(1810) are determined to be $M=1795\pm7$(stat)$^{+13}_{-5}$(syst)$\pm$19(mod) MeV/$c^2$ and $Γ=95\pm10$(stat)$^{+21}_{-34}$(syst)$\pm$75(mod) MeV/$c^2$, respectively, and the product branching fraction is measured to be ${\cal B}(\jpsi\toγX(1810))\times{\cal B}(X(1810)\to\of)=(2.00\pm0.08$(stat)$^{+0.45}_{-1.00}$(syst)$\pm$1.30(mod))$\times10^{-4}$. %where the first error is the statistical error and the second the systematical error. Search for $η$ and $η^\prime\to π^+ e^- \barν_e +c.c.$ decays in $\jpsi \to φη$ and $φη^\prime$

Abstract: Using a sample of 225.3 million $\jpsi$ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII $e^+e^-$ collider in 2009, searches for the decays of $η$ and $η^\prime\toπ^+ e^- \barν_e +c.c.$ in $\jpsi \to φη$ and $φη^\prime$ are performed. The $φ$ signals, which are reconstructed in $K^+K^-$ final states, are used to tag $η$ and $η^\prime$ semileptonic decays.
