Evidence for $Z_{c}^{\pm}$ decays into the $ρ^{\pm} η_{c}$ final state

Abstract: We study $e^{+}e^{-}$ collisions with a $π^{+}π^{-}π^{0}η_{c}$ final state using data samples collected with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}=4.226$, $4.258$, $4.358$, $4.416$, and $4.600$ GeV. Evidence for the decay $\zcpm\to\rhopm\etac$ is reported with a statistical significance of $3.9σ$ with various systematic uncertainties taken into account at $\sqrt{s} = 4.226$ GeV,… ▽ More We study $e^{+}e^{-}$ collisions with a $π^{+}π^{-}π^{0}η_{c}$ final state using data samples collected with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}=4.226$, $4.258$, $4.358$, $4.416$, and $4.600$ GeV. Evidence for the decay $\zcpm\to\rhopm\etac$ is reported with a statistical significance of $3.9σ$ with various systematic uncertainties taken into account at $\sqrt{s} = 4.226$ GeV, and the Born cross section times branching fraction $σ^{B}(\EE\to \pimp\zcpm)\times \BR(\zcpm\to\rhopm\etac)$ is measured to be $(48 \pm 11 \pm 11)\,\rm{pb}$. The $\zcpm\to \rhopm\etac$ signal is not significant at the other center-of-mass energies and the corresponding upper limits are determined. In addition, no significant signal is observed in a search for $\zcppm\to ρ^{\pm}\etac$ with the same data samples. The ratios $R_{\zc}=\BR(\zcpm\to ρ^{\pm} \etac)/\BR(\zcpm\to π^{\pm} \jpsi)$ and $R_{\zcp}=\BR(\zcppm\to ρ^{\pm} \etac)/\BR(\zcppm\to π^{\pm} \hc)$ are obtained and used to discriminate between different theoretical interpretations of the $\zcpm$ and $\zcppm$. △ Less

Observation of $η_c\toωω$ in $J/ψ\toγωω$

Abstract: Using a sample of $(1310.6\pm7.0)\times10^6$ $J/ψ$ events recorded with the BESIII detector at the symmetric electron positron collider BEPCII, we report the observation of the decay of the $(1^1 S_0)$ charmonium state $η_c$ into a pair of $ω$ mesons in the process $J/ψ\toγωω$. Precision measurement of the branching fractions of $η^\prime$ decays

Search for heavy Majorana neutrino in lepton number violating decays of D-> K pi e+ e+

Abstract: Using the data sample of an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb$^{-1}$ taken at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV, we search for the Majorana neutrino in the lepton number violating decays $D\to K πe^+ e^+$. No significant signal is observed, and the upper limits on the branching fraction at the 90\% confidence level are set to be $\mathcal{B}\,(D^0 \to K^- π^- e^+ e^+)<2.8\times10^{-6}$,… ▽ More Using the data sample of an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb$^{-1}$ taken at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV, we search for the Majorana neutrino in the lepton number violating decays $D\to K πe^+ e^+$. Abstract: Using $e^+e^-$ annihilation data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.19\,fb$^{-1}$ collected at a center-of-mass energy of 4.178~GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the absolute branching fractions $\mathcal{B}_{D_s^+ \rightarrow ηe^{+} ν_e }$ = $(2.323\pm0.063_{\rm stat}\pm0.063_{\rm syst})\%$ and $\mathcal{B}_{D_s^+ \rightarrow η^{\prime} e^{+} ν_e}$ =… ▽ More Using $e^+e^-$ annihilation data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.19\,fb$^{-1}$ collected at a center-of-mass energy of 4.178~GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the absolute branching fractions $\mathcal{B}_{D_s^+ \rightarrow ηe^{+} ν_e }$ = $(2.323\pm0.063_{\rm stat}\pm0.063_{\rm syst})\%$ and $\mathcal{B}_{D_s^+ \rightarrow η^{\prime} e^{+} ν_e}$ = $(0.824\pm0.073_{\rm stat}\pm0.027_{\rm syst})\%$ via a tagged analysis technique, where one $D_s$ is fully reconstructed in a hadronic mode. Combining these measurements with previous BESIII measurements of $\mathcal{B}_{D^+\toη^{(\prime)} e^{+} ν_e}$, the $η-η^\prime$ mixing angle in the quark flavour basis is determined to be $φ_{\rm P} = (40.1\pm2.1_{\rm stat}\pm0.7_{\rm syst})^\circ$. From the first measurements of the dynamics of $D^+_s\to η^{(\prime)}e^+ν_e$ decays, the products of the hadronic form factors $f_+^{η^{(\prime)}}(0)$ and the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $|V_{cs}|$ are determined with different form factor parameterizations. For the two-parameter series expansion, the results are $f^η_+(0)|V_{cs}| = 0.4455\pm0.0053_{\rm stat}\pm0.0044_{\rm syst}$ and $f^{η^{\prime}}_+(0)|V_{cs}| = 0.477\pm0.049_{\rm stat}\pm0.011_{\rm syst}$. △ Less

Abstract: We report the observation and study of the decay $J/ψ\rightarrowφηη'$ using $1.3\times{10^9}$ $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector. Its branching fraction, including all possible intermediate states, is measured to be $(2.32\pm0.06\pm0.16)\times{10^{-4}}$. We also report evidence for a structure, denoted as $X$, in the $φη'$ mass spectrum in the $2.0-2.1$ GeV/$c^2$ region. Using two decay modes of the $η'$ meson ($γπ^+π^-$ and $ηπ^+π^-$), a simultaneous fit to the $φη'$ mass spectra is performed. Assuming the quantum numbers of the $X$ to be $J^P = 1^-$, its significance is found to be 4.4$σ$, with a mass and width of $(2002.1 \pm 27.5 \pm 21.4)$ MeV/$c^2$ and $(129 \pm 17 \pm 9)$ MeV, respectively, and a product branching fraction $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\rightarrowηX)\times{}\mathcal{B}(X\rightarrowφη')=(9.8 \pm 1.2 \pm 1.7)\times10^{-5}$. Alternatively, assuming $J^P = 1^+$, the significance is 3.8$σ$, with a mass and width of $(2062.8 \pm 13.1 \pm 7.2)$ MeV/$c^2$ and $(177 \pm 36 \pm 35)$ MeV, respectively, and a product branching fraction $\mathcal{B}(J/ψ\rightarrowηX)\times{}\mathcal{B}(X\rightarrowφη')=(9.6 \pm 1.4 \pm 2.0)\times10^{-5}$. The angular distribution of $J/ψ\rightarrowηX$ is studied and the two $J^P$ assumptions of the $X$ cannot be clearly distinguished due to the limited statistics. The Born cross sections are measured to be $σ^{B}(e^+e^-\to D_s^+ \overline{D}{*}^{0} K^-) = (10.1\pm2.3\pm0.8) pb$ and $σ^{B}(e^+e^-\to D_s^+ \overline{D}{}^{0} K^-) = (19.4\pm2.3\pm1.6) pb$, and the products of Born cross section and the decay branching fraction are measured to be $σ^{B}(e^+e^-\to D_s^+D_{s1}(2536)^- + c.c.)\cdot\mathcal{B}(D_{s1}(2536)^- \to \overline{D}{*}^{0} K^-) = (7.5 \pm 1.8 \pm 0.7) pb$ and $σ^{B}(e^+e^-\to D_s^+ D^*_{s2}(2573)^- + c.c.)\cdot\mathcal{B}(D^*_{s2}(2573)^- \to \overline{D}{}^{0} K^-) = (19.7 \pm 2.9 \pm 2.0) pb$. For the $D_{s1}(2536)^-$ and $D^*_{s2}(2573)^-$ mesons, the masses and widths are measured to be $M(D_{s1}(2536)^-) = (2537.7 \pm 0.5 \pm 3.1)~MeV/c^2,$ $ Γ(D_{s1}(2536)^-)) = (1.7\pm 1.2 \pm 0.6)~\rm MeV,$ and $M(D^*_{s2}(2573)^-) = (2570.7\pm 2.0 \pm 1.7)~MeV/c^2,$ $Γ(D^*_{s2}(2573)^-) = (17.2 \pm 3.6 \pm 1.1)~\rm MeV.$ The spin-parity of the $D^*_{s2}(2573)^-$ meson is determined to be $J^P=2^{+}$. In addition, the process $e^+e^-\to D_s^+ \overline{D}{}^{(*)0} K^-$ are searched for using the data samples taken at four (two) center-of-mass energies between 4.416 (4.527) and 4.575 GeV, and upper limits at the $90\%$ confidence level on the cross sections are determined. △ Less

Abstract: We report a study of the decay $D^0 \rightarrow \bar{K}^0π^-e^+ν_{e}$ based on a sample of $2.93~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ $e^+e^-$ annihilation data collected at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773~GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The total branching fraction is determined to be $\mathcal{B}(D^0\rightarrow \bar{K}^0π^-e^+ν_{e})=(1.434\pm0.029({\rm stat.})\pm0.032({\rm syst.}))\%$, whic… ▽ More We report a study of the decay $D^0 \rightarrow \bar{K}^0π^-e^+ν_{e}$ based on a sample of $2.93~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ $e^+e^-$ annihilation data collected at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773~GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The total branching fraction is determined to be $\mathcal{B}(D^0\rightarrow \bar{K}^0π^-e^+ν_{e})=(1.434\pm0.029({\rm stat.})\pm0.032({\rm syst.}))\%$, which is the most precise to date. According to a detailed analysis of the involved dynamics, we find this decay is dominated with the $K^{*}(892)^-$ contribution and present an improved measurement of its branching fraction to be $\mathcal{B}(D^0\rightarrow K^{*}(892)^-e^+ν_e)=(2.033\pm0.046({\rm stat.})\pm0.047({\rm syst.}))\%$. We further access their hadronic form-factor ratios for the first time as $r_{V}=V(0)/A_1(0)=1.46\pm0.07({\rm stat.})\pm0.02({\rm syst.})$ and $r_{2}=A_2(0)/A_1(0)=0.67\pm0.06({\rm stat.})\pm0.01({\rm syst.})$. In addition, we observe a significant $\bar{K}^0π^-$ $S$-wave component accounting for $(5.51\pm0.97({\rm stat.})\pm0.62({\rm syst.}))\%$ of the total decay rate. △ Less

Abstract: Using a $3.19~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ data sample collected at an $e^+e^-$ center-of-mass energy of $E_{\rm cm}=4.178$ GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the branching fraction of the leptonic decay $D_s^+\toμ^+ν_μ$ to be $\mathcal{B}_{D_s^+\toμ^+ν_μ}=(5.49\pm0.16_{\rm stat.}\pm0.15_{\rm syst.})\times10^{-3}$. Combining our branching fraction with the masses of the $D_s^+$ and $μ^+$ and the lifetime of the $D_s^+$, we determine $f_{D_s^+}|V_{cs}|=246.2\pm3.6_{\rm stat.}\pm3.5_{\rm syst.}~\mathrm{MeV}$. Using the $c\to s$ quark mixing matrix element $|V_{cs}|$ determined from a global standard model fit, we evaluate the $D_s^+$ decay constant $f_{D_s^+}=252.9\pm3.7_{\rm stat.}\pm3.6_{\rm syst.}$\,MeV. Alternatively, using the value of $f_{D_s^+}$ calculated by lattice quantum chromodynamics, we find $|V_{cs}| = 0.985\pm0.014_{\rm stat.}\pm0.014_{\rm syst.}$. These values of $\mathcal{B}_{D_s^+\toμ^+ν_μ}$, $f_{D_s^+}|V_{cs}|$, $f_{D_s^+}$ and $|V_{cs}|$ are each the most precise results to date. △ Less

Normalizing to the reference decays $Λ_c^+\toΣ^+π^0$ and $Σ^+ω$, we obtain the ratios of the branching fractions $\frac{{\mathcal B}(Λ_c^+\toΣ^+η)}{{\mathcal B}(Λ_c^+\toΣ^+π^0)}$ and $\frac{{\mathcal B}(Λ_c^+\toΣ^+η^\prime)}{{\mathcal B}(Λ_c^+\toΣ^+ω)}$ to be $0.35 \pm 0.16 \pm 0.03$ and $0.86 \pm 0.34 \pm 0.07$, respectively. The upper limits at the 90\% confidence level are set to be $\frac{{\mathcal B}(Λ_c^+\toΣ^+η)}{{\mathcal B}(Λ_c^+\toΣ^+π^0)}<0.58$ and $\frac{{\mathcal B}(Λ_c^+\toΣ^+η^\prime)}{{\mathcal B}(Λ_c^+\toΣ^+ω)}<1.2$. Using BESIII measurements of the branching fractions of the reference decays, we determine $\mathcal B({Λ_{c}^{+}\rightarrowΣ^{+}η})=(0.41\pm0.19\pm0.05)\%$ ($<0.68\%$) and $\mathcal B({Λ_{c}^{+}\rightarrowΣ^{+}η'})=(1.34\pm0.53\pm0.21)\%$ ($<1.9\%$). Here, the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The obtained branching fraction of $Λ_c^+\toΣ^+η$ is consistent with the previous measurement, and the branching fraction of $Λ_{c}^{+}\rightarrowΣ^{+}η^{\prime}$ is measured for the first time. △ Less

Abstract: Using a low-background sample of $2.6\times 10^5$ $J/ψ\rightarrowωη(ω\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-}π^{0},η\rightarrowγγ)$ events, about 5 times larger statistics than previous experiments, we present a Dalitz plot analysis of the decay $ω\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-}π^{0}$. It is found that the Dalitz plot distribution differs from the pure $P$-wave phase space with a statistical significance of $18.9σ$. The param… ▽ More Using a low-background sample of $2.6\times 10^5$ $J/ψ\rightarrowωη(ω\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-}π^{0},η\rightarrowγγ)$ events, about 5 times larger statistics than previous experiments, we present a Dalitz plot analysis of the decay $ω\rightarrowπ^{+}π^{-}π^{0}$. It is found that the Dalitz plot distribution differs from the pure $P$-wave phase space with a statistical significance of $18.9σ$. The parameters from the fit to data are in reasonable agreement with those without the cross-channel effect within the dispersive framework, which indicates that the cross-channel effect in $ω\rightarrowπ^+π^-π^0$ is not significant. △ Less

First observations of $h_c \to$ hadrons

Abstract: Based on $(4.48 \pm 0.03) \times 10^{8}$ $ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector, five $h_c$ hadronic decays are searched for via process $ψ(3686) \to π^0 h_c$. Three of them, $h_c \to p \bar{p} π^+ π^-$, $π^+ π^- π^0$, and $2(π^+ π^-) π^0$ are observed for the first time, with statistical significances of 7.4$σ$, $4.9σ$, and 9.1$σ$, and branching fractions of… ▽ More Based on $(4.48 \pm 0.03) \times 10^{8}$ $ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector, five $h_c$ hadronic decays are searched for via process $ψ(3686) \to π^0 h_c$. Abstract: Decays $χ_{cJ}~(J=0,1,2)\toωφ$ are studied using $(448.1\pm2.9)\times 10^{6} ~ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector in 2009 and 2012. In addition to the previously established $χ_{c0}\toωφ$, first observation of $χ_{c1} \to ωφ$ is reported in this paper. In addition to the previously established $χ_{c0}\toωφ$, first observation of $χ_{c1} \to ωφ$ is reported in this paper. The measured product branching fractions are ${\cal{B}}(ψ(3686)\toγχ_{c0})\times{\cal{B}}(χ_{c0}\toωφ)=(13.83\pm 0.70\pm 1.01)\times10^{-6}$ and ${\cal{B}}(ψ(3686)\toγχ_{c1})\times{\cal{B}}(χ_{c1}\toωφ)=(2.67\pm 0.31\pm 0.27)\times10^{-6}$, and the absolute branching fractions are ${\cal{B}}(χ_{c0}\toωφ)=(13.84\pm 0.70\pm 1.08)\times10^{-5}$ and ${\cal{B}}(χ_{c1}\toωφ)=(2.80\pm 0.32\pm 0.30)\times10^{-5}$. We also find a strong evidence for $χ_{c2}\toωφ$ with a statistical significance of 4.8$σ$, and the corresponding product and absolute branching fractions are measured to be ${\cal{B}}(ψ(3686)\toγχ_{c2})\times{\cal{B}}(χ_{c2}\toωφ)=(0.91\pm0.23\pm0.12)\times10^{-6} $ and ${\cal{B}}(χ_{c2}\toωφ)=(1.00\pm0.25\pm0.14)\times10^{-5}$. Abstract: Using $e^+e^-$ annihilation data of $2.93~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ collected at center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}=3.773$ GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the absolute branching fraction of $D^{0}\to K^{-}μ^{+}ν_μ$ with significantly improved precision: ${\mathcal B}_{D^{0}\to K^{-}μ^{+}ν_μ}=(3.413\pm0.019_{\rm stat.}\pm0.035_{\rm syst.})\%$. Combining with our previous measurement of… ▽ More Using $e^+e^-$ annihilation data of $2.93~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ collected at center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}=3.773$ GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the absolute branching fraction of $D^{0}\to K^{-}μ^{+}ν_μ$ with significantly improved precision: ${\mathcal B}_{D^{0}\to K^{-}μ^{+}ν_μ}=(3.413\pm0.019_{\rm stat.}\pm0.035_{\rm syst.})\%$. Combining with our previous measurement of ${\mathcal B}_{D^0\to K^-e^+ν_e}$, the ratio of the two branching fractions is determined to be ${\mathcal B}_{D^0\to K^-μ^+ν_μ}/{\mathcal B}_{D^0\to K^-e^+ν_e}=0.974\pm0.007_{\rm stat.}\pm0.012_{\rm syst.}$, which agrees with the theoretical expectation of lepton flavor universality within the uncertainty. A study of the ratio of the two branching fractions in different four-momentum transfer regions is also performed, and no evidence for lepton flavor universality violation is found with current statistics. Taking inputs from global fit in the standard model and lattice quantum chromodynamics separately, we determine $f_{+}^{K}(0)=0.7327\pm0.0039_{\rm stat.}\pm0.0030_{\rm syst.}$ and $|V_{cs}| = 0.955\pm0.005_{\rm stat.}\pm0.004_{\rm syst.}\pm0.024_{\rm LQCD}$. △ Less

By performing a partial wave analysis, the $π^+π^-$ $S$-wave contribution to $D^+\toπ^-π^+ e^+ν_e$ is observed to be $(25.7\pm1.6\pm1.1)$% with a sta… ▽ More Using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93~fb$^{-1}$ recorded by the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of $3.773$ GeV, we present an analysis of the decays $\bar{D}^0\toπ^+π^0 e^-\barν_e$ and $D^+\toπ^-π^+ e^+ν_e$. By performing a partial wave analysis, the $π^+π^-$ $S$-wave contribution to $D^+\toπ^-π^+ e^+ν_e$ is observed to be $(25.7\pm1.6\pm1.1)$% with a statistical significance greater than 10$σ$, besides the dominant $P$-wave contribution. This is the first observation of the $S$-wave contribution. We measure the branching fractions $\mathcal{B}(D^{0} \to ρ^- e^+ ν_e) = (1.445\pm 0.058 \pm 0.039) \times10^{-3}$, $\mathcal{B}(D^{+} \to ρ^0 e^+ ν_e) = (1.860\pm 0.070 \pm 0.061) \times10^{-3}$, and $\mathcal{B}(D^{+} \to f_0(500) e^+ ν_e, f_0(500)\toπ^+π^-) = (6.30\pm 0.43 \pm 0.32) \times10^{-4}$. An upper limit of $\mathcal{B}(D^{+} \to f_0(980) e^+ ν_e, f_0(980)\toπ^+π^-) < 2.8 \times10^{-5}$ is set at the 90% confidence level. We also obtain the hadronic form factor ratios of $D\to ρe^+ν_e$ at $q^{2}=0$ assuming the single-pole dominance parameterization: $r_{V}=\frac{V(0)}{A_{1}(0)}=1.695\pm0.083\pm0.051$, $r_{2}=\frac{A_{2}(0)}{A_{1}(0)}=0.845\pm0.056\pm0.039$. △ Less

Polarization and Entanglement in Baryon-Antibaryon Pair Production in Electron-Positron Annihilation

Abstract: Using a sample of $1.31\times 10^9$ $J/ψ$ events collected with the BESIII detector, we report the first observation of spin polarization of $Λ$ and $\barΛ$ hyperons from the coherent production in the $J/ψ\toΛ\barΛ$ decay. We measure the phase between the hadronic form factors to be $ΔΦ=(42.4\pm0.6\pm0.5)^\circ$. Additionally, a mass-independent analysis is performed to extract a piecewise function that describes the dynamics of the $K_{S}K_{S}$ system while making minimal assumptions about the properties and number of poles in the amplitude. The dominant amplitudes in the mass-dependent analysis include the $f_{0}(1710)$, $f_{0}(2200)$, and $f_{2}^\prime(1525)$. The mass-independent results, which are made available as input for further studies, are consistent with those of the mass-dependent analysis and are useful for a systematic study of hadronic interactions. Evidence of a resonant structure in the $e^+e^-\to π^+D^0D^{*-}$ cross section between 4.05 and 4.60 GeV

Our resonant mass is consistent with previous observations of the $Y(4220)$ state and the theoretical prediction of a $D\bar{D}_1(2420)$ molecule. This result is the first observation of $Y(4220)$ associated with an open-charm final state. Fits with three resonance functions with additional $Y(4260)$, $Y(4320)$, $Y(4360)$, $ψ(4415)$, or a new resonance, do not show significant contributions from either of these resonances. The second enhancement is not from a single known resonance. It could contain contributions from $ψ(4415)$ and other resonances, and a detailed amplitude analysis is required to better understand this enhancement. △ Less

The relative phase between $Jψ$ electromagnetic decay and the continuum process ($e^{+}e^{-}$ annihilation without the $J/ψ$ resonance) is confirmed to be zero by studying the cross section lineshape of $μ^{+}μ^{-}$ production. The relative phase between $J/ψ$ strong and electromagnetic decays is then measured to be $(84.9\pm3.6)^\circ$ or $(-84.7\pm3.1)^\circ$ for the $2(π^{+}π^{-})π^{0}$ final state by investigating the interference pattern between the $J/ψ$ decay and the continuum process. This is the first measurement of the relative phase between $J/ψ$ strong and electromagnetic decays into a multihadron final state using the lineshape of the production cross section. We also study the production lineshape of the multihadron final state $ηπ^{+}π^{-}$ with $η\toπ^{+}π^{-}π^{0}$, which provides additional information about the phase between the $J/ψ$ electromagnetic decay amplitude and the continuum process. Additionally, the branching fraction of $J/ψ\to 2(π^{+}π^{-})π^{0}$ is measured to be $(4.73\pm0.44)\%$ or $(4.85\pm0.45)\%$, and the branching fraction of $J/ψ\toηπ^{+}π^{-}$ is measured to be $(3.78\pm0.68)\times10^{-4}$. The first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. Isospin symmetry violation is observed in the decays $h_1(1380) \to K^{*}(892)^{+} K^{-} +c.c.$ and $h_1(1380) \to K^{*}(892)^{0}\bar K^{0} +c.c.$. Based on the measured $h_1(1380)$ mass, the mixing angle between the states $h_1(1170)$ and $h_1(1380)$ is determined to be $(35.9\pm2.6)^{\circ}$, consistent with theoretical expectations. △ Less

Abstract: We report new measurements of the cross sections for the production of D Dbar final states at the psi(3770) resonance. Our data sample consists of an integrated luminosity of 2.93/fb of e+e- annihilation data produced by the BEPCII collider and collected and analyzed with the BESIII detector. We exclusively reconstruct three D0 and six D+ hadronic decay modes and use the ratio of the yield of full… ▽ More We report new measurements of the cross sections for the production of D Dbar final states at the psi(3770) resonance. Our data sample consists of an integrated luminosity of 2.93/fb of e+e- annihilation data produced by the BEPCII collider and collected and analyzed with the BESIII detector. We exclusively reconstruct three D0 and six D+ hadronic decay modes and use the ratio of the yield of fully reconstructed D Dbar events ("double tags") to the yield of all reconstructed D or Dbar mesons ("single tags") to determine the number of D0 D0bar and D+D- events, benefiting from the cancellation of many systematic uncertainties. Combining these yields with an independent determination of the integrated luminosity of the data sample, we find the cross sections to be σ(e+e- --> D0 D0bar)=(3.615 +- 0.010 +- 0.038) nb and σ(e+e- --> D+D-)=(2.830 +- 0.011 +- 0.026) nb, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. △ Less

Abstract: To investigate the nature of the $ψ(3770)$ resonance and to measure the cross section for $e^+e^- \to D\bar{D}$, a cross-section scan data sample, distributed among 41 center-of-mass energy points from 3.73 to 3.89~GeV, was taken with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII collider in the year 2010. Observation of $ψ(3686) \to n\bar{n}$ and improved measurement of $ψ(3686) \to p \bar{p}$

Abstract: We observe the decay $ψ(3686) \to n \bar{n}$ for the first time and measure $ψ(3686) \to p \bar{p}$ with improved accuracy by using $1.07\times 10^8$ $ψ(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector. Here, the first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones systematic. With the hypothesis that the polar angular distributions of the neutron and proton in the center-of-mass system obey $1+α\cos^2θ$, we determine the $α$ parameters to be $α_{n\bar{n}} = 0.68 \pm 0.12 \pm 0.11$ and $α_{p\bar{p}} = 1.03 \pm 0.06 \pm 0.03$ for $ψ(3686)\to n\bar{n}$ and $ψ(3686)\to p\bar{p}$, respectively. △ Less
