We investigate the evolution of a homogeneous magnetic field within Bianchi-I loop quantum cosmology, in which the big bang singularity is replaced with an anisotropic quantum bounce. Using effective spacetime description, we conduct extensive numerical simulations with randomized initial conditions for two cases: first in the presence of a pure homogeneous magnetic field and then adding a massless scalar field that effectively captures the bounce regime even in the presence of inflationary potentials. For a cigar-like approach to the classical big bang, which is far more prevalent than a point-like approach, the quantum geometric bounce acts as a seesaw mechanism for magnetic field energy density. Due to the seesaw mechanism, the magnetic field energy density gets amplified by several orders of magnitude across the bounce for a small pre-bounce value of magnetic field energy density, or vice versa. In the presence of the scalar field, the seesaw mechanism is completely replaced by amplification of the magnetic field across the bounce when the initial energy density of the scalar field significantly dominates. When the universe has a point-like approach to the classical big bang, the seesaw mechanism is absent, and magnetic field energy density experiences amplification or suppression across the non-singular bounce depending on initial densities.

In the present work, we study a cosmological model composed of a viscous dark matter interacting with decaying vacuum energy in a spatially flat Universe. In the first part, we find the analytical solution of different cosmological parameters by assuming the physically viable forms of bulk viscosity and decaying vacuum density with the interaction term. The second part is dedicated to constrain the free parameters of the interacting viscous model with decaying vacuum energy by employing latest observational data of $Pantheon+$, Cosmic Chronometer and $f(z)σ_{8}(z)$. We find that the interacting model just deviate very slightly from well-known concordance $Λ$CDM model and can alleviate effectively the current $H_0$ tension between local measurement by R21 and global measurement by Planck 2018, and the excess in the mass fluctuation amplitude $σ_{8}$ essentially vanish in this context. We report the Hubble constants as $H_0=72.150^{+0.989}_{-0.779}$, and $ 72.202^{+0.796}_{-0.937}$ \;$km s^{-1} Mpc^{-1}$, deceleration parameters as $q_0=-0.533 \pm 0.024$, and $-0.531 \pm 0.024$, and equation of state parameters as $w_0=-0.689 \pm 0.016$, and $ -0.687 \pm 0.016$ for $Λ$CDM and interacting models, respectively. It is found that the interacting model is in good agreement with $Λ$CDM. Further, we discuss the amplitude of matter power spectrum $σ_8$ and its associated parameter $S_8$ using $f(z)σ_8(z)$ data. Finally, the information selection criterion and Bayesian inference are discussed to distinguish the interacting model with $Λ$CDM model.

In order to investigate the potential observational signals of different regularization ambiguities in loop quantum cosmological models, we systematically compute and compare the primordial scalar power spectra and the resulting angular power spectra in the standard loop quantum cosmology (LQC) and its Thiemann regularized versions -- modified LQC-I/II (mLQC-I/II), using both the dressed metric and the hybrid approaches. All three loop quantum cosmological models yield a non-singular bounce with a post-bounce physics that converges rapidly in a few Planck seconds. Using Starobinsky potential and the initial conditions for the background dynamics chosen to yield the same inflationary e-foldings, which are fixed to be $65$ in all three LQC models, we require that all three models result in the same scale-invariant regime for the primordial power spectrum with a relative difference of less than one percent. This permits us to explore the differences resulting from the deep Planck regime in the angular power spectrum. For the adiabatic states, our results demonstrate that the angular power spectrum predicted by the hybrid approach has a smaller deviation from the angular power spectrum predicted by the standard $Λ$CDM cosmological model at large angles in comparison with the dressed metric approach for all three models. The angular power spectrum predicted by mLQC-I in both the hybrid and the dressed metric approaches shows the smallest deviation from the one predicted by the standard $Λ$CDM cosmological model at large angular scales, except for the case of fourth order adiabatic initial states in the hybrid approach. On the contrary, mLQC-II results in the largest deviations for the amplitude of the angular power spectrum at large angles and is most disfavored.

We present further applications of the formalism introduced by the authors in arXiv:2308.10949, which allows embedding of a broad class of generalized LTB models into effective spherically symmetric spacetimes. We focus on regular black hole models, where a broad class of models can be considered, including for example LQG-inspired models as well as the model with a regular center, e.g. of Bardeen and Hayward. For a certain class of regular black hole models, we can formulate a Birkhoff-like theorem in LTB coordinates. We further show that depending on the properties of the polymerization functions characterizing such regular black hole models in this formalism, the uniqueness of the effective spherically symmetric vacuum solutions might not be given in general in Schwarzschild-like coordinates. Furthermore, we introduce a reconstruction algorithm that allows for a subclass of this models to construct from a given metric in Schwarzschild-like coordinates the corresponding effective spherically symmetric model, its dynamics as an 1+1-dimensional field theory as well as a corresponding covariant Lagrangian of extended mimetic gravity in four dimensions. Such a reconstruction allows us to obtain Lagrangians of extended mimetic gravity models for black holes with a regular center, e.g. the Bardeen and Hayward metric as well as for effective LQG inspired models. Moreover, the reconstruction enables us to extend regular black hole models to general inhomogeneous dust collapse models. For the latter, within this formalism, we can investigate and look at the physical properties of the models such as the existence of weak shell-crossing singularities from a novel perspective.

We have obtained the exact solution of the equation assuming the parametrization of the Hubble parameter and the relation between metric coefficients. They lead to the shift from the past decelerating universe to the current accelerating universe in a time-dependent deceleration parameter. We have also constrained our proposed model parameters with 46 observational Hubble datasets. Numerous cosmological parameters have been examined about the universe's history. The present paper is a modest attempt to initiate the research program outlined in this abstract. We propose that general relativity and relativistic MOND (RelMOND) are analogues of the broken electroweak symmetry. That is, $SU(2)_R \times U(1)_{YDEM} \rightarrow U(1)_{DEM}$ (DEM stands for dark electromagnetism), and GR is assumed to arise from the broken $SU(2)_R$ symmetry, and is analogous to the weak force. RelMOND is identified with dark electromagnetism $U(1)_{DEM}$, which is the remaining unbroken symmetry after spontaneous symmetry breaking of the darkelectro-grav sector $SU(2)_R \times U(1)_{YDEM}$. This sector, as well as the electroweak sector, arise from the breaking of an $E_8 \times E_8$ symmetry, in a recently proposed model of unification of the standard model with pre-gravitation, this latter being an $SU(2)_R$ gauge theory. The source charge for the dark electromagnetic force is square-root of mass, motivated by the experimental fact that the square-roots of the masses of the electron, up quark, and down quark, are in the ratio 1:2:3, which is a flip of their electric charge ratios 3:2:1 The introduction of the dark electromagnetic force helps understand the weird mass ratios of the second and third generation of charged fermions. We also note that in the deep MOND regime, acceleration is proportional to square-root of mass, which motivates us to propose the relativistic $U(1)_{DEM}$ gauge symmetry as the origin of MOND. We explain why the dark electromagnetic force falls inversely with distance, as in MOND, and not as the inverse square of distance. We conclude that dark electromagnetism is a good mimicker of cold dark matter, and the two are essentially indistinguishable in those cosmological situations where CDM is successful in explaining observations, such as CMB anisotropies, and gravitational lensing.

We systematically study a family of loop quantizations for the classical Kruskal spacetimes using the effective description motivated from loop quantum gravity for four generic parameters, $c_o, m, δ_b$, and $δ_c$, where the latter two denote the polymerization parameters that capture the underlying quantum geometry. We focus on the family where polymerization parameters are constant on dynamical trajectories and of which the Ashtekar-Olmedo-Singh (AOS) and Corichi-Singh (CS) models appear as special cases. We study general features of singularity resolution in all these models due to quantum gravity effects and analytically extend the solutions across the white hole (WH) and black hole (BH) horizons to the exterior. We find that the leading term in the asymptotic expansion of the Kretschmann scalar is $r^{-4}$. However, for AOS and CS models, black holes with masses greater than solar mass, the dominant term behaves as $r^{-6}$ for the size of the observable Universe and our analysis can be used to phenomenologically constrain the choice of parameters for other models. In addition, one can uniquely fix the parameter $c_o$ by requiring that the Hawking temperature at the BH horizon to the leading order be consistent with its classical value for a macroscopic BH. Assuming that the BH and WH masses are of the same order, we are able to identify a family of choices of $δ_b$ and $δ_c$ which share all the desired properties of the AOS model.

In loop quantum cosmology, ambiguities in the Hamiltonian constraint can result in models with varying phenomenological predictions. In the homogeneous isotropic models, these ambiguities were settled, and the improved dynamics was found to be a unique and phenomenologically viable choice. This issue has remained unsettled on the inclusion of anisotropies, and in the Bianchi-I model there exist two generalizations of isotropic improved dynamics. In the first of these, labelled as $\bar μ$ quantization, the edge length of holonomies depends on the inverse of the directional scale factor. This quantization has been favored since it results in universal bounds on energy density and anisotropic shear, and can be viably formulated for non-compact as well as compact spatial manifolds. However, there exists an earlier quantization, labelled as $\bar μ'$ quantization, where edge lengths of holonomies depend on the inverse of the square root of directional triads. This quantization is also non-singular and so far believed to yield a consistent physical picture for spatially compact manifolds. We examine the issue of the physical viability of these quantizations for different types of matter in detail by performing a large number of numerical simulations. Our analysis reveals certain limitations which have so far remained unnoticed. We find that while being non-singular, the $\bar μ'$ quantization suffers from a surprising problem where one of the triad components and associated polymerized term retains Planckian character even at large volumes. As a result, not only is the anisotropic shear not preserved across the bounce, which is most highlighted in the vacuum case, but the universe can exhibit an unexpected cyclic evolution. These problematic features are absent from the $\bar μ$ quantization leaving it as the only viable prescription for loop quantizing the Bianchi-I model.

Modifications to the Mukhanov-Sasaki equation in loop quantum cosmology (LQC) have been phenomenologically explored using polymerization of the connection and related variables in the classical expressions in order to capture the quantum gravity effects in cosmological perturbations which replace the classical big bang by a big bounce. Examples of this strategy include the dressed metric and the hybrid approaches whose inter-relationship at an effective level was demonstrated by the authors recently. In this manuscript, we propose a new family of the effective mass functions in the modified Mukhanov-Sasaki equation of LQC by investigating the polymerization of a particular form of the classical mass function in terms of variable $z_s$($=a\dot φ/H$) which relates the Mukhanov-Sasaki variable with the comoving curvature perturbation. Using a generalized ansatz motivated by quantum gravity effects in the background dynamics we find alternative effective mass functions which are distinct from those used in the dressed metric and the hybrid approaches with differences originating from the non-commutativity of the evaluation of the Poisson brackets and the polymerization procedures. The new effective mass functions acquire four correction terms in the effective potential whose exact forms are closely tied up with the ansatz used for polymerizing the inverse Hubble rate. In contrast to earlier works, one of these correction terms can in principle produce sizable effects even when the bounce is kinetic dominated. Our investigation opens a new window to explore the phenomenological implications of a large family of effective mass functions in LQC which can potentially lead to significant departures from the dressed metric and the hybrid approaches in the bounce regime.

In this work, we investigate the dynamics of bulk viscous models with decaying vacuum energy density (VED) in a spatially homogeneous and isotropic flat Friedmann-Lemaître- Robertson-walker (FLRW) spacetime. We particularly are interested to study the viscous model which considers first order deviation from equilibrium, i.e., the Eckart theory. In the first part, using the different forms of the bulk viscous coefficient, we find the main cosmological parameters, like Hubble parameter, scale factor, deceleration parameter and equation of state parameter analytically. We discuss some cosmological consequences of the evolutions and dynamics of the different viscous models with decaying VED. We examine the linear perturbation growth in the context of the bulk viscous model with decaying VED to see if it survives this further level of scrutiny. The second part of the work is devoted to constrain the viscous model of the form $ζ\propto H$, where $ζ$ is the bulk viscous coefficient and $H$ is the Hubble parameter, using three different combinations of data from type Ia supernovae (Pantheon), $H(z)$ (cosmic chronometers), Baryon Acoustic Oscillation and $f(z)σ_8(z)$ measurements with Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method. We show that the considered model is compatible with the cosmological probes, and the $Λ$CDM recovered in late-time of the evolution of the Universe. Based on modifications inspired from loop quantum gravity (LQG), spherically symmetric models have recently been explored to understand the resolution of classical singularities and the fate of the spacetime beyond. While such phenomenological studies have provided useful insights, questions remain on whether such models exhibit some of the desired properties such as consistent LTB conditions, covariance and compatibility with the improved dynamics of loop quantum cosmology in the cosmological and LTB sectors. We provide a systematic procedure to construct effective spherically symmetric models encoding LQG modifications as a $1+1$ field theory models encoding these properties following the analysis in our companion paper. As concrete examples of our generalized strategy we obtain and compare with different phenomenological models which have been investigated recently and demonstrate resolution of singularity by quantum geometry effects via a bounce. These include models with areal gauge fixing, a polymerized vacuum solution, polymerized junction conditions and an Oppenheimer-Snyder dust collapse model. An important insight from our approach is that the dynamical equations care about the $\det(e)$ part rather than the square root of the determinant of the spatial metric. As a result, shock solutions which have been argued to exist in some models are found to be absent even if one considers coordinate transformations.

We generalize the existing works on the way (generalized) LTB models can be embedded into polymerized spherically symmetric models in several aspects. We re-examine such an embedding at the classical level and show that a suitable LTB condition can only be treated as a gauge fixing in the non-marginally bound case, while in the marginally bound case it must be considered as an additional first class constraint. A novel aspect of our formalism, based on the effective equations of motion, is to derive compatible dynamics LTB conditions for polymerized models by using holonomy and inverse triad corrections simultaneously, whereas in earlier work these were only considered separately. Further, our formalism allows to derive compatible LTB conditions for a vast of class of polymerized models available in the current literature. Within this broader class of polymerizations there are effective models contained for which the classical LTB condition is a compatible one. Our results show that there exist a class of effective models for which the dynamics decouples completely along the radial direction. It turns out that this subsector is strongly linked to the property that in the temporally gauge fixed model, the algebra of the geometric contribution to the Hamiltonian constraint and the spatial diffeomorphism constraint is closed. We finally apply the formalism to existing models from the literature and compare our results to the existing ones.

It was recently shown that tunneling wavefunction proposal is consistent with loop quantum geometry corrections including both holonomy and inverse scale factor corrections in the gravitational part of a spatially closed isotropic model with a positive cosmological constant. However, in presence of an inflationary potential the initial singularity is kinetic dominated and the effective minisuperspace potential again diverges at zero scale factor. Since the wavefunction in loop quantum cosmology cannot increase towards the zero scale factor, the tunneling wavefunction seems incompatible. We show that consistently including inverse scale factor modifications in scalar field Hamiltonian changes the effective potential into a barrier potential allowing the tunneling proposal. We also discuss a potential quantum instability of the cyclic universe resulting from tunneling.

The occurrence of singularities where spacetime curvature becomes infinite and geodesic evolution breaks down are inevitable events in classical general relativity (GR) unless one chooses an exotic matter violating weak energy condition. These singularities show up in various physical processes, such as the gravitational collapse, the birth of the universe in the standard cosmology as well as the classical solutions of the black hole spacetimes. In the last two decades, a rigorous understanding of the dynamics of quantum spacetime and the way it resolves singularities has been achieved in loop quantum cosmology (LQC) which applies the concepts and techniques of loop quantum gravity to the symmetry reduced cosmological spacetimes. Due to the fundamental discreteness of quantum geometry derived from the quantum theory, the big bang singularity has been robustly shown to be replaced by a big bounce. Strong curvature singularities intrinsic in the classical cosmology are generically resolved for a variety of cosmological spacetimes including anisotropic models and polarized Gowdy models. Using effective spacetime description the LQC universe also provides an ultra-violet complete description of the classical inflationary scenario as well as its alternatives such as the ekpyrotic and matter bounce scenarios. In this chapter we provide a summary of singularity resolution and its physical implications for various isotropic and anisotropic cosmological spacetimes in LQC and analyze robustness of results through variant models originating from different quantization prescriptions.

We propose a novel dark-energy equation-of-state parametrization, with a single parameter $η$ that quantifies the deviation from $Λ$CDM cosmology. We first confront the scenario with various datasets, from Hubble function (OHD), Pantheon, baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO), and their joint observations, and we show that $η$ has a preference for a non-zero value, namely a deviation from $Λ$CDM cosmology is favored, although the zero value is marginally inside the 1$σ$ confidence level. However, we find that the present Hubble function value acquires a higher value, namely $ H_0= 66.624^{+0.011}_{-0.013}~Km~ s^{-1} Mpc^{-1} $, which implies that the $H_0$ tension can be partially alleviated. Additionally, we perform a cosmographic analysis, showing that the universe transits from deceleration to acceleration in the recent cosmological past, nevertheless, in the future, it will not result in a de Sitter phase, since it exhibits a second transition from acceleration to deceleration. Finally, we perform the Statefinder analysis. The scenario behaves similarly to the $ Λ$CDM paradigm at high redshifts, while the deviation becomes significant at late and recent times and especially in the future.

The dynamical aspect of accelerating cosmological model has been studied in this paper in the context of modified symmetric teleparallel gravity, the $f(Q)$ gravity. Initially, we have derived the dynamical parameters for two well known forms of $f(Q)$ such as: (i) log-square-root form and (ii) exponential form. The equation of state (EoS) parameter for the dark energy in the $f(Q)$ gravity in both the models emerges into a dynamical quantity. At present model-I shows the quintessence behavior and behave like the $Λ$CDM at the late time whereas model-II shows phantom behaviour. Further, the dynamical system analysis has been performed to determine the cosmological behaviour of the models along with its stability behaviour. For both the models the critical points are obtained and analysed the stability at each critical points with phase portraits. The evolutionary behaviour of density parameters for the matter-dominated, radiation-dominated, and dark energy phases are also shown for both the models.

In loop quantum cosmology (LQC) the big bang singularity is generically resolved by a big bounce. This feature holds even when modified quantization prescriptions of the Hamiltonian constraint are used such as in mLQC-I and mLQC-II. While the later describes an effective description qualitatively similar to that of standard LQC, the former describes an asymmetric evolution with an emergent Planckian de-Sitter pre-bounce phase even in the absence of a potential. We consider the potential relation of these canonically quantized non-singular models with effective actions based on a geometric description. We find a 3-parameter family of metric-affine $f(\mathcal{R})$ theories which accurately approximate the effective dynamics of LQC and mLQC-II in all regimes and mLQC-I in the post-bounce phase. Two of the parameters are fixed by enforcing equivalence at the bounce, and the background evolution of the relevant observables can be fitted with only one free parameter. It is seen that the non-perturbative effects of these loop cosmologies are universally encoded by a logarithmic correction that only depends on the bounce curvature of the model. In addition, we find that the best fit value of the free parameter can be very approximately written in terms of fundamental parameters of the underlying quantum description for the three models. The values of the best fits can be written in terms of the bounce density in a simple manner, and the values for each model are related to one another by a proportionality relation involving only the Barbero-Immirzi parameter.

The quantum tunneling of charged massive vector boson particles across the event horizon of Kerr-Newman-de Sitter black hole is investigated under the influence of quantum gravity effects. The modified Hawking temperatures and heat capacities across the event horizon of KNdS black hole are derived in 3-dimensional and 4-dimensional frame dragging coordinates. It is found that due to quantum gravity effects the modified Hawking temperatures and heat capacities depend on the mass and angular momentum of the emitted vector boson particles. For 3-dimensional KNdS black hole, the modified Hawking temperature is lower than the original Hawking temperature but the modified heat capacity is higher than the original heat capacity due to quantum gravity effects. In the case of 4-dimensional KNdS black hole, the modified Hawking temperature and heat capacity are lower or greater than the original Hawking temperature and heat capacity depending upon the choices of black hole parameters due to quantum gravity effects. We also discuss the remnant and graphical analysis of the modified Hawking temperatures and heat capacities.

There is rich literature on regular black holes from loop quantum gravity (LQG), where quantum geometry effects resolve the singularity, leading to a quantum extension of the classical space-time. As we will see, the mechanism that resolves the singularity can also trigger conceptually undesirable features that can be subtle and are often uncovered only after a detailed examination. Therefore, the quantization scheme has to be chosen rather astutely. We illustrate the new physics that emerges first in the context of the eternal black hole represented by the Kruskal space-time in classical general relativity, then in dynamical situations involving gravitational collapse, and finally, during the Hawking evaporation process. The emphasis is on novel conceptual features associated with the causal structure, trap** and anti-trap** horizons and boundedness of invariants associated with curvature and matter. This Chapter is not intended to be an exhaustive account of all LQG results on non-singular black holes. Rather, we have selected a few main-stream thrusts to anchor the discussion, and provided references where further details as well as discussions of related developments can be found. In the spirit of this Volume, the goal is to present a bird's eye view that is accessible to a broad audience.

The rotating black holes in the quintessential dark energy correspond to three horizons: inner, outer, and quintessential horizon. The domain of outer communication is the region between outer and quintessential horizon. Here, in this work we study the photon region and shadows of the quintessential dark energy black holes when the observer stays statically in the domain of outer communication. The quintessential dark energy black holes shadow characterizes by its mass $(M)$, spin parameter $(a)$, quintessential dark energy parameter $(ω_q)$, and normalization factor $(γ)$. The dark energy parameter $ω_q$ can take values in between $-1.1<ω_q<-1/3$ and follows the equation of state $ω_q$=pressure$(p)$/energy density($ρ_q)$. This state parameter significantly affects the shape and size of the black hole shadow. We generalize all the geodesic equations of motion for $ω_q$ and obtain relation to visualize the black hole shadow by a static observer at any arbitrary distance in the domain of outer communication. We analytically estimate the black hole shadow observables: radius $R_s$, distortion parameter $δ_s$ and the shadow area $A$. Using the numerical values of shadow radius $R_s$ and area $A$, we obtain the angular diameter of the black hole shadow. The angular size of the M87 and Sgr A$^*$ black holes are $\ 42 \pm 3 μa s$ and $48.7 \pm 7 μa s $ respectively as observe by Event Horizon Telescope (EHT). In this case, the angular diameter of the black hole shadow increases with the quintessence parameter $ω_q$ and takes values $θ_d \approx 20 \pm 3{^o}$ with the parameter $-0.66 \leq ω_q \leq -0.62$ for the static observer at $r_o=5M$ in the domain of outer communication.

In Vilenkin's tunneling wavefunction proposal our expanding universe is born via a tunneling through a barrier from nothing at the zero scale factor. We explore the viability of this proposal for the spatially closed FLRW model with a positive cosmological constant including quantum gravity modifications in the Planck regime. Our setting is the effective spacetime description of loop quantum cosmology (LQC) which is known to replace the big bang singularity with a bounce due to the holonomy modifications. Due to the bounce, the barrier potential of the Wheeler-DeWitt theory is replaced by a step like potential which makes the tunneling proposal incompatible. But for a complete picture of singularity resolution, inverse scale factor modifications from quantum geometry must be included which play an important role at very small scale factors in the spatially closed models. We show that with inclusion of inverse scale factor modifications the resulting potential is again a barrier potential. The universe at the vanishing scale factor is dynamically non-singular and in an Einstein static like phase. We show that quantum geometric effects in LQC provide a non-singular completion of Vilenkin's tunneling proposal. We also find that quantum geometric effects result in a possibility of a tunneling to a quantum cyclic universe albeit for a very large value of cosmological constant determined by the quantum geometry.

Based on the effective dynamics in the $\bar μ$ scheme of the spherical symmetry reduced model in the reduced phase space formulation of loop quantum gravity (LQG), we investigate the gravitational collapse of a homogeneous dust cloud, with Gaussian dust serving as both the reference field and the source of the gravitational collapse. The effective dynamics from the considered model for a homogeneous dust cloud reduces precisely to the effective dynamics of loop quantum cosmology (LQC) with extrinsic curvature based K-quantization, indicating that the LQC effective dynamics lives as a subsector of the model presented here. In both the marginally bound and the bound cases of the collapse in effective dynamics, the singularity is resolved and replaced by a bounce. Though quantum geometric modification from spatial curvature is not directly included in the K-quantization it does affect the qualitative dynamics of the collapsing dust cloud in the sense that on the one hand for the marginally bound case, the dust cloud bounces once at fixed maximum energy density and on the other hand for the bound case, the dust cloud undergoes infinite cycles of contraction and expansion at energy densities dependent on the dust mass. Finally, the mass threshold for the formation of a trapped surface in each case is found and the matching conditions between the interior collapsing spacetime and an effective exterior static solution are discussed.

In classical Bianchi-I spacetimes, underlying conditions for what dictates the singularity structure - whether it is anisotropic shear or energy density, can be easily determined from the generalized Friedmann equation. However, in non-singular bouncing anisotropic models these insights are difficult to obtain in the quantum gravity regime where the singularity is resolved at a non-vanishing mean volume which can be large compared to the Planck volume, depending on the initial conditions. Such non-singular models may also lack a generalized Friedmann equation making the task even more difficult. We address this problem in an effective spacetime description of loop quantum cosmology (LQC) where energy density and anisotropic shear are universally bounded due to quantum geometry effects, but a generalized Friedmann equation has been difficult to derive due to the underlying complexity. Performing extensive numerical simulations of effective Hamiltonian dynamics, we bring to light a surprising, seemingly universal relationship between energy density and anisotropic shear at the bounce in LQC. For a variety of initial conditions for a massless scalar field, an inflationary potential, and two types of ekpyrotic potentials we find that the values of energy density and the anisotropic shear at the quantum bounce follow a novel parabolic relationship which reveals some surprising results about the anisotropic nature of the bounce, such as the maximum value of the anisotropic shear at the bounce is reached when the energy density reaches approximately half of its maximum allowed value. The relationship we find can prove very useful for develo** our understanding of the degree of anisotropy of the bounce, isotropization of the post-bounce universe, and discovering the modified generalized Friedmann equation in Bianchi-I models with quantum gravity corrections.

Using the octonions as space-time coordinates, we construct a pre-spacetime, pre-quantum Lagrangian dynamics. We show that the symmetries of this non-commutative space unify the standard model of particle physics with $SU(2)_R$ chiral gravity. The algebra of the octonionic space yields spinor states which can be identified with three generations of quarks and leptons. The geometry of the space implies quantisation of electric charge, and leads to a theoretical derivation of the mysterious mass ratios of quarks and the charged leptons. Quantum gravity is quantisation not only of the gravitational field, but also of the point structure of space-time.

In this paper, we investigate the optical properties of rotating regular anti-de Sitter (AdS) black holes, which characterized by its mass $(M)$, spin parameter $(a)$, deviation parameter $(k)$ and the cosmological constant $(Λ)$ related to the curvature radius via $(Λ=-3/l^2)$. We derive the complete null geodesic equations of motion and study the unstable circular orbits for an observer at given Boyer-Lindquist coordinates ($r_O,\;\vartheta_O$) in the domain of outer communication and trace the photon rings. For the analytical part of our study, we investigate the observables, namely, shadow radius $(R_s)$ and distortion parameter $(δ_s)$. These rotating regular AdS black holes have smaller shadows when compare to the Kerr and regular spacetimes. We also estimate the energy emission rate of the black hole.

The dressed metric and the hybrid approach to perturbations are the two main approaches to capture the effects of quantum geometry in the primordial power spectrum in loop quantum cosmology. Both consider Fock quantized perturbations over a loop quantized background and result in very similar predictions except for the modes which exit the horizon in the effective spacetime in the Planck regime. Understanding precise relationship between both approaches has so far remained obscured due to differences in construction and technical assumptions. We explore this issue at the classical and effective spacetime level for linear perturbations, ignoring backreaction, which is the level at which practical computations of the power spectrum in both of the approaches have so far been performed. We first show that at the classical level both the approaches lead to the same Hamiltonian up to the second order in perturbations and result in the same classical mass functions in the Mukhanov-Sasaki equation on the physical solutions. At the effective spacetime level, the difference in phenomenological predictions between the two approaches in the Planck regime can be traced to whether one uses the Mukhanov-Sasaki variable $Q_{\vec k}$ (the dressed metric approach) or its rescaled version $ν_{\vec k}=aQ_{\vec k}$ (the hybrid approach) to write the Hamiltonian of the perturbations, and associated polymerization ambiguities. It turns out that if in the dressed metric approach one chooses to work with $ν_{\vec{k}}$, the effective mass function can be written exactly as in the hybrid approach, thus leading to identical phenomenological predictions in all regimes. Our results explicitly show that the dressed metric and the hybrid approaches for linear perturbations, at a practical computational level, can be seen as two sides of the same coin.

The expanding cosmology yields de Sitter universe at late times with decelerating past having matter and radiation dominated phases. Investigation of autonomous system for bouncing cosmology yields oscillating solutions in positive spatial curvature region. We explore the relationship between the effective dynamics in standard loop quantum cosmology (LQC) based on holonomies and triads obtained from gauge-fixing fluxes, and a modification of LQC based on holonomies and gauge-covariant fluxes (referred to as gLQC). Both the models yield singularity resolution via a bounce because of non-perturbative quantum geometric effects resulting in a maximum for energy density. In LQC, the bounce is extremely well captured by a $ρ^2$ term in energy density with a negative sign which emerges as a non-perturbative modification to the classical Friedmann and Raychaudhuri equations. But, details of such modifications in gLQC have remained hidden due to an arduous nature of gauge-covariant flux modifications which do not allow writing above equations in a closed form. To extract these modifications we explore the large volume, weak curvature limit for matter with a fixed equation of state and obtain higher order corrections to the classical theory. We find that in the weak curvature limit of gLQC, in the post-bounce branch, the first order correction beyond classical theory fully recovers the form of modified Friedmann and Raychaudhuri equations of LQC. In contrast, due to an asymmetric bounce in gLQC, the weak curvature limit of the pre-bounce branch exhibits a novel structure with a $ρ^{3/2}$ term as a first order correction beyond classical theory while the $ρ^2$ term appears as a second order correction. Our work shows that gLQC has a far richer structure which includes the form of dynamical equations with non-perturbative modifications in LQC in its weak curvature limit. This indicates that more general loop quantizations of cosmological sectors can reveal LQC at some truncation, and possibly there exist a tower of potentially interesting higher order modifications from quantum geometry which are hidden in the setting of LQC.

We present the Bardeen black hole solution in the presence of the de Rham, Gabadaadze, and Tolly (dRGT) massive gravity, which is regular everywhere in the presence of a nonlinear source. The obtained solution reduces to the Bardeen black hole in the absence of a massive gravity parameter, and the Schwarzschild black hole when magnetic charge $g = 0$. We investigated the thermodynamic quantities, that is, mass (M), temperature $(T)$, entropy ($S$), and free energy $(F)$, in terms of the horizon radius for both canonical and grand canonical ensembles. We checked the local and global stability of the obtained solution by studying the heat capacity and free energy. The heat capacity changes sign at $r = r_c$. The black hole is thermodynamically stable with a positive heat capacity $C > 0$ (i.e., globally preferred with negative free energy $F < 0$). For classical gravitational systems the lapse function and the shift vector are usually determined by imposing appropriate gauge fixing conditions and then demanding their preservation with respect to the dynamics generated by a canonical Hamiltonian. Effective descriptions encoding quantum geometric effects motivated by loop quantum gravity for symmetry reduced models are often captured by polymerization of connection (or related) variables in gauge fixing conditions as well as constraints. Usually, one chooses the same form of polymerization in both cases. A pertinent question is if the dynamical stability of the effective gauge fixing conditions under the effective dynamics generated by the polymerized canonical Hamiltonian is provided by the lapse function and the shift vector obtained from the polymerization of their classical counterparts. If this is the case, then we say that gauge fixing and polymerization commute. In this manuscript we investigate these issues and obtain consistency conditions for the commutativity of gauge fixing and polymerization. Our analysis shows that such a commutativity occurs in rather special situations and reveals pitfalls in making seemingly well motivated choices which turn out to be inconsistent with the effective dynamics. We illustrate these findings via examples of symmetry reduced models in the loop quantization of the Schwarzschild interior and Lemaître-Tolman-Bondi (LTB) spacetimes and report the non-commutativity of gauge fixing and polymerization, and inherent limitations of some choices made in the literature with a consistent effective dynamics.

We explore the way different loop quantization prescriptions affect the formation of trapped surfaces in the gravitational collapse of a homogeneous dust cloud, with a particular emphasis on the so called $μ_o$ scheme in which loop quantum cosmology was initially formulated. Its undesirable features in cosmological models led to the so-called improved dynamics or the $\bar μ$ scheme. While the jury is still out on the right scheme for black hole spacetimes, we show that as far as the black hole formation is concerned the $μ_o$ scheme has another, so far unknown, serious problem. We find that in the $μ_o$ scheme no trapped surfaces would form for a non-singular collapse of a homogeneous dust cloud in the marginally bound case unless the minimum non-zero area of the loops over which holonomies are computed or the Barbero-Immirzi parameter decreases almost four times from its standard value. It turns out that the trapped surfaces in the $μ_o$ scheme for the marginally bound case are also forbidden for any arbitrary matter content as long as the collapsing interior is isometric to a spatially flat Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) spacetime. We find that in contrast to the situation in the $μ_o$ scheme, black holes can form in the $\bar μ$ scheme, and also other lattice refinements with a mass gap determined by quantum geometry.

In this paper, we study Friedmann cosmology with time-varying vacuum energy density in the context of Brans-Dicke theory. We consider an isotropic and homogeneous flat space, filled with a matter-dominated perfect fluid and a dynamical cosmological term $Λ(t) $, obeying the equation of state of the vacuum. As the exact nature of a possible time-varying vacuum is yet to be found, we explore $Λ(t)$ given by the phenomenological law $Λ(t)=λ+σH$, where $λ$ and $σ$ are positive constants. We solve the model and then focus on two different cases $Λ_{H1}$ and $Λ_{H2}$ by assuming $Λ=λ$ and $Λ=σH$, respectively. Notice that $Λ_{H1}$ is the analog of the standard $Λ$CDM, but within the Brans-Dicke cosmology. We find the analytical solution of the main cosmological functions such as the Hubble parameter, the scale factor, deceleration and equation of state parameters for these models. In order to test the viability of the cosmological scenarios, we perform two sets of joint observational analyses of the recent Type Ia supernova data (Pantheon), observational measurements of Hubble parameter data, Baryon acoustic oscillation/Cosmic microwave background data and Local Hubble constant for each model. For the sake of comparison, the same data analysis is performed for the $Λ$CDM model. Each model shows a transition from decelerated phase to accelerated phase and can be viewed as an effective quintessence behavior. Using the model selection criteria AIC and BIC to distinguish from existing dark energy models, we find that the Brans-Dicke analog of the $Λ$-cosmology (i.e. our model $Λ_{H1}$) performs at a level comparable to the standard $Λ$CDM, whereas $Λ_{H2}$ is less favoured.

It is generally expected that in a non-singular cosmological model a cyclic evolution is straightforward to obtain on introduction of a suitable choice of a scalar field with a negative potential or a negative cosmological constant which causes a recollapse at some time in the evolution. We present a counter example to this conventional wisdom. Working in the realm of loop cosmological models with non-perturbative quantum gravity modifications we show that a modified version of standard loop quantum cosmology based on Thiemann's regularization of the Hamiltonian constraint while generically non-singular does not allow a cyclic evolution unless some highly restrictive conditions hold. Irrespective of the energy density of other matter fields, a recollapse and hence a cyclic evolution is only possible if one chooses an almost Planck sized negative potential of the scalar field or a negative cosmological constant. Further, cycles when present do not occur in the classical regime. Surprisingly, a necessary condition for a cyclic evolution, not singularity resolution, turns out to be a violation of the weak energy condition. These results are in a striking contrast to standard loop quantum cosmology where obtaining a recollapse at large volumes and a cyclic evolution is straightforward, and, there is no violation of weak energy condition. On one hand our work shows that some quantum cosmological models even though non-singular and bouncing are incompatible with a cyclic evolution, and on the other hand demonstrates that differences in various quantization prescriptions in loop cosmology need not be faint and buried in the pre-bounce regime, but can be striking and profound even in the post-bounce regime.

Hence we incorporate right-handed neutrinos in the division algebras based approach to the standard model. The right-handed neutrinos, also known as sterile neutrinos, are a potential dark-matter candidate. We discuss the left-right symmetric fermions and their phenomenology using the division algebra approach. We describe the gauge groups associated with the left-right symmetric model and prospects for unification through division algebras. We investigate the possibility of obtaining three generations of fermions and charge/mass ratios through the exceptional Jordan algebra $J_3(O)$ and the exceptional groups $F_4$ and $E_6$.

We study some consequences of the loop quantization of the outermost dust shell in the Lemaître-Tolman-Bondi spacetime with a homogeneous dust density using different quantization strategies motivated by loop quantum gravity. Prior work has dealt with loop quantizing this model by employing holonomies and the triads, following the procedure in standard loop quantum cosmology. In this work we compare this quantization with the one in which holonomies and gauge-covariant fluxes are used. While both of the quantization schemes resolve the central singularity, they lead to different mass gaps at which a trapped surface forms. This trapped surface which is matched to an exterior generalized Vaidya spacetime disappears when the density of the dust shell is in the Planck regime. We find that the quantization based on holonomies and gauge-covariant fluxes generically results in an asymmetric evolution of the dust shell in which the effective mass associated with the white hole as seen by an external observer is $2/π$ of the one for the black hole. This effective difference in masses results from difference in the classical limits in pre- and post-bounce regimes in the two quantizations. This distinctive feature rules out formation of any black hole-white hole twin in presence of gauge-covariant flux modifications which is in contrast to the quantization using holonomies and triads where the gravitational collapse always leads to a black hole-white hole twins. In another striking difference, for the quantization based on holonomies and gauge-covariant fluxes there can be situations in which during a non-singular collapse only a black hole forms without a white hole.

In this paper, we first provide a brief review of the effective dynamics of two recently well-studied models of modified loop quantum cosmologies (mLQCs), which arise from different regularizations of the Hamiltonian constraint and show the robustness of a generic resolution of the big bang singularity, replaced by a quantum bounce due to non-perturbative Planck scale effects. As in loop quantum cosmology (LQC), in these modified models the slow-roll inflation happens generically. We consider the cosmological perturbations following the dressed and hybrid approaches and clarify some subtle issues regarding the ambiguity of the extension of the effective potential of the scalar perturbations across the quantum bounce, and the choice of initial conditions. Both of the modified regularizations yield primordial power spectra that are consistent with current observations for the Starobinsky potential within the framework of either the dressed or the hybrid approach. But differences in primordial power spectra are identified among the mLQCs and LQC. In addition, for mLQC-I, striking differences arise between the dressed and hybrid approaches in the infrared and oscillatory regimes. While the differences between the two modified models can be attributed to differences in the Planck scale physics, the permissible choices of the initial conditions and the differences between the two perturbation approaches have been reported for the first time. All these differences, due to either the different regularizations or the different perturbation approaches in principle can be observed in terms of non-Gaussianities.

A problematic feature of low energy scale inflationary models, such as Starobinsky inflation, in a spatially closed universe is the occurrence of a recollapse and a big crunch singularity before inflation can even set in. In a recent work it was shown that this problem can be successfully resolved in loop quantum cosmology for a large class of initial conditions due to a non-singular cyclic evolution and a hysteresis-like phenomena. However, for certain highly unfavorable initial conditions the onset of inflation was still difficult to obtain. In this work, we explore the role of dissipative particle production, which is typical in warm inflation scenario, in the above setting. We find that entropy production sourced by such dissipative effects makes hysteresis-like phenomena stronger. As a result, the onset of inflation is quick in general including for highly unfavorable initial conditions where it fails or is significantly delayed in the absence of dissipative effects. We phenomenologically consider three warm inflation scenarios with distinct forms of dissipation coefficient, and from dynamical solutions and phase space portraits find that the phase space of favorable initial conditions turns out to be much larger than in cold inflation.

Models with dust reference fields in relational formalism have proved useful in understanding the construction of gauge-invariant perturbation theory to arbitrary orders in the canonical framework. These reference fields modify the dynamical equations for perturbation equations. However, important questions remain open on the relation with conventional perturbation theories of inflaton coupled to gravity and of multi-fluid systems, and on understanding modifications in terms of physical degrees of freedom. These gaps are filled in this manuscript for Brown-Kuchař and Gaussian dust models, both of which involve three scalar physical degrees of freedom. We establish a relationship of these models with conventional inflationary and multi-fluid system of inflation and ordinary dust by introducing a set of gauge invariant variables on the reduced phase space of the dust reference models. We find the modifications due to dust clocks to Bardeen equation in the longitudinal gauge and Mukhanov-Sasaki equation in the spatially-flat gauge, in terms of physical degrees of freedom. This results in a closed system of equations for all the degrees of freedom needed to explore the evolution of the scalar perturbations. Our analysis shows for the first time that even for two-fluid systems, there is a natural choice of the set of gauge invariant variables for each chosen gauge which not only offers a direct physical interpretation but also results in simplifications to the dynamical equations.

A union of matter bounce and Ekpyrotic scenarios is often studied in an attempt to combine the most promising features of these two models. Since non-perturbative quantum geometric effects in loop quantum cosmology (LQC) result in natural bouncing scenarios without any violation of energy conditions or fine tuning, an investigation of matter-Ekpyrotic bounce scenario is interesting to explore in this quantum gravitational setting. In this work, we explore this unified phenomenological model for a spatially flat Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) universe in LQC filled with dust and a scalar field in an Ekpyrotic scenario like negative potential. Background dynamics and the power spectrum of the comoving curvature perturbations are numerically analyzed with various initial conditions and a suitable choice of the initial states. By varying the initial conditions we consider different cases of dust and Ekpyrotic field domination in the contracting phase. We use the dressed metric approach to numerically compute the primordial power spectrum of the comoving curvature perturbations which turns out to be almost scale invariant for the modes which exit the horizon in the matter-dominated phase. But, in contrast with a constant magnitude power spectrum obtained under approximation of a constant Ekpyrotic equation of state using deformed algebra approach in an earlier work, we find that the magnitude of power spectrum changes during evolution. Our analysis shows that the bouncing regime only leaves imprints on the modes outside the scale-invariant regime. However, an analysis of the spectral index shows inconsistency with the observational data, thus making further improvements in such a model necessary.

The model universe is predicted to be a DE model, dominated by vacuum energy. The model represents an oscillating model, each cycle evolving with a big bang and ending at a big crunch, undergoing a series of bounces. The universe is isotropic and undergoes super-exponential expansion. The value of Hubble's parameter is measured to be $H=67.0691$ which is very close to $H_0=67.36\pm0.54kms^{-1}Mpc^{-1}$, the value estimated by the latest Planck 2018 result. Within the limits of the present cosmological observations in f(R,T) gravity theory, we have analyzed a spherically symmetric space-time in 5D setting. The field equations have been carefully studied considering reasonable cosmological assumptions to obtain exact solutions. We have obtained an isotropic model universe undergoing super-exponential expansion. It is predicted that the model universe behaves like a dark energy (vacuum energy) model. In the present scenario, the model evolves with a slow and uniform change of shape. It is observed that the universe is close to or nearly flat. The model is free from initial singularity and is predicted to approach the de-Sitter phase dominated by vacuum energy or cosmological constant in the finite-time future. A comprehensive discussion on the cosmological parameters obtained in view of the recent studies is presented in detail with graphs.

Recent cosmic microwave background observations favor low energy scale inflationary models in a closed universe. However, onset of inflation in such models for a closed universe is known to be severely problematic. In particular, such a universe recollapses within a few Planck seconds and encounters a big crunch singularity when initial conditions are given in the Planck regime. We show that this problem of onset of inflation in low energy scale inflationary models can be successfully overcome in a quantum gravitational framework where the big bang/big crunch singularities are resolved and a non-singular cyclic evolution exists prior to inflation. As an example we consider a model in loop quantum cosmology and demonstrate that the successful onset of low energy scale inflation in a closed universe is possible for the Starobinsky inflationary model starting from a variety of initial conditions where it is impossible in the classical theory. For comparison we also investigate the onset of inflation in the $φ^2$ inflationary model under similar unfavorable conditions. The pre-inflationary phase with quantum gravity effects is shown to be composed of non-identical cycles of bounces and recollapses resulting in a hysteresis-like phenomenon, which plays an important role in creating suitable conditions for inflation to occur after some number of non-singular cycles. Our analysis shows that the tension in the classical theory amounting to the unsuitability of closed FLRW universes with respect to the onset of low energy scale inflation can be successfully resolved in loop quantum cosmology.

We have recently proposed a Lagrangian in trace dynamics at the Planck scale, for unification of gravitation, Yang-Mills fields, and fermions. Dynamical variables are described by odd-grade (fermionic) and even-grade (bosonic) Grassmann matrices. Evolution takes place in Connes time. At energies much lower than Planck scale, trace dynamics reduces to quantum field theory. In the present paper we explain that the correct understanding of spin requires us to formulate the theory in 8-D octonionic space. The automorphisms of the octonion algebra, which belong to the smallest exceptional Lie group $G_2$, replace space-time diffeomorphisms and internal gauge transformations, bringing them under a common unified fold. Building on earlier work by other researchers on division algebras, we propose the Lorentz-weak unification at the Planck scale, the symmetry group being the stabiliser group of the quaternions inside the octonions. This is one of the two maximal subgroups of $G_2$, the other one being $SU(3)$, the element preserver group of octonions. This latter group, coupled with $U(1)_{em}$, describes the electro-colour symmetry, as shown earlier by Furey. We predict a new massless spin one boson [the Lorentz boson] which should be looked for in experiments. Our Lagrangian correctly describes three fermion generations, through three copies of the group $G_2$, embedded in the exceptional Lie group $F_4$. This is the unification group for the four fundamental interactions, and it also happens to be the automorphism group of the exceptional Jordan algebra. Gravitation is shown to be an emergent classical phenomenon. Whereas at the Planck scale, there is present a quantised version of the Lorentz symmetry, mediated by the Lorentz boson. We argue that at sub-Planck scales, the self-adjoint part of the octonionic trace dynamics bears a relationship with string theory in eleven dimensions.

We compare the primordial scalar power spectra in the loop cosmological models using the effective dynamics of the hybrid approach to cosmological perturbations in which the background is loop quantized but the perturbations are Fock quantized. The three loop cosmological models under consideration are the standard LQC, the modified LQC-I (mLQC-I) and the modified LQC-II (mLQC-II) in the spatially flat Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) universe with a Starobinsky potential. These models arise from different regularizations of the classical Hamiltonian constraint in the symmetry reduced spacetimes and aim to capture certain features of quantization in loop quantum gravity. When applying the techniques in the hybrid approach to mLQC-I/II, we find the effective Mukhanov-Sasaki equations take the same form as in LQC. The difference among the three models is encoded in the unique expressions of the effective masses in each model. We find that the relative difference in the amplitude of power spectrum between LQC and mLQC-II is approximately $50\%$ in the infrared and the oscillatory regimes, whereas this difference can be as large as $100\%$ between mLQC-I and LQC/mLQC-II. Interestingly, in the infrared and the oscillatory regimes of mLQC-I, we obtain a suppressed power spectrum from the hybrid approach which is far below the Planck scale. This result is in a striking contrast to the one obtained from dressed metric approach to perturbations where the corresponding amplitude in this regime is extremely large. Our analysis shows that while the phenomenological predictions are in agreement between two approaches for LQC and mLQC-II, for mLQC-I the differences between dressed and hybrid approaches can be quite significant. Our result provides the first robust evidence of difference in predictions between dressed and hybrid approaches due to respective underlying constructions.
