We provide a transparent discussion of the high temperature asymptotic behaviour of Cosmology in a dilaton-Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet (dEGB) scenario of modified gravity with vanishing scalar potential. In particular, we show that it has a clear interpretation in terms of only three attractors (stable critical points) of a set of autonomous differential equations: $w=-\frac{1}{3}$, $w=1$ and $1<w<\frac{7}{3}$, where $w\equiv p/ρ$ is the equation of state, defined as the ratio of the total pressure and the total energy density. All the possible different high-temperature evolution histories of the model are exhausted by only eight paths in the flow of the set of the autonomous differential equations. Our discussion clearly explains why five out of them are characterized by a swift transition of the system toward the attractor, while the remaining three show a more convoluted evolution, where the system follows a meta-stable equation of state at intermediate temperatures before eventually jum** to the real attractor at higher temperatures. Compared to standard Cosmology, the regions of the dEGB parameter space with $w=-\frac{1}{3}$ show a strong enhancement of the expected Gravitational Wave stochastic background produced by the primordial plasma of relativistic particles of the Standard Model. This is due to the very peculiar fact that dEGB allows to have an epoch when the energy density $ρ_{\rm rad}$ of the relativistic plasma dominates the energy of the Universe while at the same time the rate of dilution with $T$ of the total energy density is slower than what usually expected during radiation dominance. This allows to use the bound from BBN to put in dEGB a constraint $T_{\rm RH}\lesssim 10^8 - 10^9$ GeV on the reheating temperature of the Universe $T_{\rm RH}$. Such BBN bound is complementary to late-time constraints from compact binary mergers.

This document presents a summary of the 2023 Terrestrial Very-Long-Baseline Atom Interferometry Workshop hosted by CERN. The workshop brought together experts from around the world to discuss the exciting developments in large-scale atom interferometer (AI) prototypes and their potential for detecting ultralight dark matter and gravitational waves. The primary objective of the workshop was to lay the groundwork for an international TVLBAI proto-collaboration. This collaboration aims to unite researchers from different institutions to strategize and secure funding for terrestrial large-scale AI projects. The ultimate goal is to create a roadmap detailing the design and technology choices for one or more km-scale detectors, which will be operational in the mid-2030s. The key sections of this report present the physics case and technical challenges, together with a comprehensive overview of the discussions at the workshop together with the main conclusions.

In this work, a two-fluid interacting model in a flat FLRW universe has been studied considering particle creation mechanism with a particular form of particle creation rate $Γ=Γ_0 H+\frac{Γ_1}{H}$ from different aspects. Statistical analysis with a combined data set of SNe Ia (Supernovae Type Ia) and Hubble data is performed to achieve the best-fit values of the model parameters, and the model is compatible with current observational data. We also perform a dynamical analysis of this model to get an overall qualitative description of the cosmological evolution by converting the governing equations into a system of ordinary differential equations considering a proper transformation of variables. We find some non-isolated sets of critical points, among which some usually are normally hyperbolic sets of points that describe the present acceleration of the universe dominated by dark energy mimicking cosmological constant or phantom fluid. Scaling solutions are also obtained from this analysis, and they can alleviate the coincidence problem successfully. Statefinder diagnosis is also carried out for this model to compare it with the $Λ$CDM, and any other dark energy models by finding various statefinder parameters. Finally, the thermodynamic analysis shows that the generalized second law of thermodynamics is valid in an irreversible thermodynamic context.

We use the Weakly Interacting Massive Particle (WIMP) thermal decoupling scenario to probe Cosmologies in dilatonic Einstein Gauss-Bonnet (dEGB) gravity, where the Gauss-Bonnet term is non-minimally coupled to a scalar field with vanishing potential. We put constraints on the model parameters when the ensuing modified cosmological scenario drives the WIMP annihilation cross section beyond the present bounds from DM indirect detection searches. In our analysis we assumed WIMPs that annihilate to Standard Model particles through an s-wave process. For the class of solutions that comply with WIMP indirect detection bounds, we find that dEGB typically plays a mitigating role on the scalar field dynamics at high temperature, slowing down the speed of its evolution and reducing the enhancement of the Hubble constant compared to its standard value. For such solutions, we observe that the corresponding boundary conditions at high temperature correspond asymptotically to a vanishing deceleration parameter q, so that the effect of dEGB is to add an accelerating term that exactly cancels the deceleration predicted by General Relativity. The bounds from WIMP indirect detection are nicely complementary to late-time constraints from compact binary mergers. This suggest that it could be interesting to use other Early Cosmology processes to probe the dEGB scenario.

In this paper we construct an exact spherically symmetric black hole solution with a power Yang-Mills (YM) source in the context of $4D$ Einstein Gauss-Bonnet gravity ($4D$ EGB). We choose our source as $(F_{μν}^{(a)}F^{μν(a)})^q$, where $q$ is an arbitrary positive real number. Thereafter we study the horizon structure, thermodynamic issues like thermal stability and black hole phase transition of this black hole solution. Our focus here is to analyse the black hole space-time under the net non-linear effect coming both from the gravitational sector (due to Gauss-Bonnet term) as well as from the gauge fields (the power of Yang-Mills field invariant) in $4$-dimensions. We evaluate some extended thermodynamic quantities such as pressure, temperature, entropy in order to establish the form of the Smarr formula and the first law of thermodynamics. The behaviour of heat capacity as a function of horizon radius is thoroughly studied to understand the thermal stability of the black hole solution. An interesting phenomena of existence/ absence of thermal phase transition occur due to the nonlinearity of YM source. For some values of the parameters, we find that the solution exhibits a first-order phase transition, like a van der Waals fluid. In addition, we also verify Maxwell's equal area law numerically by crucial analysis of Gibbs free energy as a function of temperature. Moreover, the critical exponents are derived and showed the universality class of the scaling behaviour of thermodynamic quantities near criticality.

In this paper we study Joule-Thomson $(JT)$ expansion of non-linearly charged $AdS$ black holes in Einstein-power-Yang-Mills (EPYM) gravity in $D$ dimensions. Within the framework of extended phase space thermodynamics we identify the cosmological constant as thermodynamic pressure and the black hole mass with the enthalpy and derive the Joule-Thomson coefficient $μ$. Furthermore we have presented equations for inversion curves and the exact expression for the minimum inversion temperature. We also have calculated the ratio between the minimum of inversion $T_i^{min}$ and the critical temperature $T_c$ and obtained the analytic expression for the ratio $\frac{T_i^{min}}{T_c}$ that depends explicitly on the non-linearity parameter $q$ and dimension $D$. We consider the isenthalpic curves in the $T- P$ plane for different values of the fixed black hole mass and obtain heating and cooling region. Finally we have dealt with two limiting masses which characterizes the process of Joule-Thomson expansion in the $EPYM$ black holes.

We have also calculated the frequency shift of photons in this spacetime. Further, the mass parameter of a non-commutative inspired Schwarzschild black hole is computed in terms of the measurable redshift of photons emitted by massive particles moving along circular geodesics in equatorial plane. It is observed that the the gravitational field of a non-commutative inspired Schwarzschild black hole is more attractive than the Schwarzschild black hole in General Relativity.

We study the geodesic motion of massive and massless test particles in the background of a particular class of multiple charge black holes in gauged supergravity theories in D = 4. We have analysed the horizon structure along with the nature of the effective potentials for the case of four equal charges. In view of the corresponding effective potentials, we have discussed all the possible orbits in detail for different values of energy and angular momentum of the incoming test particles. The periods for one complete revolution of circular orbits and the advance of perihelion of the planetary orbit have also been investigated in greater detail for massive test particles. We have also discussed the time period of unstable circular motion and cone of avoidance of massless test particles in detail. All the corresponding results obtained for massive and massless test particles are then compared accordingly.

The present work deals with irreversible Universal thermodynamics. The homogenous and isotropic flat model of the universe is chosen as open thermodynamical system and non-equilibrium thermodynamics comes into picture due to the mechanism of particle creation. For simplicity, entropy flow is considered only due to heat conduction. Further, due to Maxwell-Cattaneo modified Fourier law for non-equilibrium phenomenon, the temperature satisfies damped wave equation instead of heat conduction equation. Validity of generalized second law of thermodynamics (GSLT) has been investigated for Universe bounded by apparent or event horizon with cosmic substrutum as perfect fluid with constant or variable equation of state or interacting dark species. Finally, we have used three Planck data sets to constrain the thermal conductivity λand the coupling parameter b^2. These constraints must be satisfied in order for GSLT to hold for Universe bounded by apparent or event horizons.
