To achieve desired carbon emission reductions, integrating renewable generation and accelerating the adoption of peer-to-peer energy trading is crucial. This is especially important for energy-intensive farming, like dairy farming. However, integrating renewables and peer-to-peer trading presents challenges. To address this, we propose the Multi-Agent Peer-to-Peer Dairy Farm Energy Simulator (MAPDES), enabling dairy farms to participate in peer-to-peer markets. Our strategy reduces electricity costs and peak demand by approximately 30% and 24% respectively, while increasing energy sales by 37% compared to the baseline scenario without P2P trading. This demonstrates the effectiveness of our approach.

Acquiring large quantities of data and annotations is known to be effective for develo** high-performing deep learning models, but is difficult and expensive to do in the healthcare context. Adding synthetic training data using generative models offers a low-cost method to deal effectively with the data scarcity challenge, and can also address data imbalance and patient privacy issues. In this study, we propose a comprehensive framework that fits seamlessly into model development workflows for medical image analysis. We demonstrate, with datasets of varying size, (i) the benefits of generative models as a data augmentation method; (ii) how adversarial methods can protect patient privacy via data substitution; (iii) novel performance metrics for these use cases by testing models on real holdout data. We show that training with both synthetic and real data outperforms training with real data alone, and that models trained solely with synthetic data approach their real-only counterparts. Artificial intelligence (AI) and specifically machine learning is making inroads into number of fields. Machine learning is replacing and/or complementing humans in a certain type of domain to make systems perform tasks more efficiently and independently. Healthcare is a worthy domain to merge with AI and Machine learning to get things to work smoother and efficiently. The X-ray based detection and classification of diseases related to chest is much needed in this modern era due to the low number of quality radiologists. This thesis focuses on the classification of Pneumonia and Tuberculosis two major chest diseases from the chest X-rays. This system provides an opinion to the user whether one is having a disease or not, thereby hel** doctors and medical staff to make a quick and informed decision about the presence of disease. As compared to previous work our model can detect two types of abnormality. Our model can detect whether X-ray is normal or having abnormality which can be pneumonia and tuberculosis 92.97% accurately.
