Recently, researchers have shown that the beamforming feedback angles (BFAs) used for Wi-Fi multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) operations can be effectively leveraged as a proxy of the channel frequency response (CFR) for different purposes. Examples are passive human activity recognition and device fingerprinting. However, even though the BFAs report frames are sent in clear text, there is not yet a unified open-source tool to extract and decode the BFAs from the frames. To fill this gap, we developed Wi-BFI, the first tool that allows retrieving Wi-Fi BFAs and reconstructing the beamforming feedback information (BFI) - a compressed representation of the CFR - from the BFAs frames captured over the air. The tool supports BFAs extraction within both IEEE 802.11ac and 802.11ax networks operating on radio channels with 160/80/40/20 MHz bandwidth. Both multi-user and single-user MIMO feedback can be decoded through Wi-BFI. The tool supports real-time and offline extraction and storage of BFAs and BFI. The real-time mode also includes a visual representation of the channel state that continuously updates based on the collected data. Wi-BFI code is open source and the tool is also available as a pip package.

In this paper, we propose BeamSense, a completely novel approach to implement standard-compliant Wi-Fi sensing applications. Wi-Fi sensing enables game-changing applications in remote healthcare, home entertainment, and home surveillance, among others. However, existing work leverages the manual extraction of channel state information (CSI) from Wi-Fi chips to classify activities, which is not supported by the Wi-Fi standard and hence requires the usage of specialized equipment. On the contrary, BeamSense leverages the standard-compliant beamforming feedback information (BFI) to characterize the propagation environment. Conversely from CSI, the BFI (i) can be easily recorded without any firmware modification, and (ii) captures the multiple channels between the access point and the stations, thus providing much better sensitivity. BeamSense includes a novel cross-domain few-shot learning (FSL) algorithm to handle unseen environments and subjects with few additional data points. We evaluate BeamSense through an extensive data collection campaign with three subjects performing twenty different activities in three different environments. We show that our BFI-based approach achieves about 10% more accuracy when compared to CSI-based prior work, while our FSL strategy improves accuracy by up to 30% and 80% when compared with state-of-the-art cross-domain algorithms.

Driver identification is a momentous field of modern decorated vehicles in the controller area network (CAN-BUS) perspective. Many conventional systems are used to identify the driver. One step ahead, most of the researchers use sensor data of CAN-BUS but there are some difficulties because of the variation of the protocol of different models of vehicle. Our aim is to identify the driver through supervised learning algorithms based on driving behavior analysis. To determine the driver, a driver verification technique is proposed that evaluate driving pattern using the measurement of CAN sensor data. In this paper on-board diagnostic (OBD-II) is used to capture the data from the CAN-BUS sensor and the sensors are listed under SAE J1979 statement. According to the service of OBD-II, drive identification is possible. However, we have gained two types of accuracy on a complete data set with 10 drivers and a partial data set with two drivers. The accuracy is good with less number of drivers compared to the higher number of drivers. We have achieved statistically significant results in terms of accuracy in contrast to the baseline algorithm

Diabetic sensorimotor polyneuropathy (DSPN) is one of the prevalent forms of neuropathy affected by diabetic patients that involves alterations in biomechanical changes in human gait. In literature, for the last 50 years, researchers are trying to observe the biomechanical changes due to DSPN by studying muscle electromyography (EMG), and ground reaction forces (GRF). However, the literature is contradictory. In such a scenario, we are proposing to use Machine learning techniques to identify DSPN patients by using EMG, and GRF data. We have collected a dataset consists of three lower limb muscles EMG (tibialis anterior (TA), vastus lateralis (VL), gastrocnemius medialis (GM) and 3-dimensional GRF components (GRFx, GRFy, and GRFz). Raw EMG and GRF signals were preprocessed, and a newly proposed feature extraction technique scheme from literature was applied to extract the best features from the signals. The extracted feature list was ranked using Relief feature ranking techniques, and highly correlated features were removed. We have trained different ML models to find out the best-performing model and optimized that model. We trained the optimized ML models for different combinations of muscles and GRF components features, and the performance matrix was evaluated. This study has found ensemble classifier model was performing in identifying DSPN Severity, and we optimized it before training. For EMG analysis, we have found the best accuracy of 92.89% using the Top 14 features for features from GL, VL and TA muscles combined. In the GRF analysis, the model showed 94.78% accuracy by using the Top 15 features for the feature combinations extracted from GRFx, GRFy and GRFz signals. The performance of ML-based DSPN severity classification models, improved significantly, indicating their reliability in DSPN severity classification, for biomechanical data.

The multichannel electrode array used for electromyogram (EMG) pattern recognition provides good performance, but it has a high cost, is computationally expensive, and is inconvenient to wear. Therefore, researchers try to use as few channels as possible while maintaining improved pattern recognition performance. However, minimizing the number of channels affects the performance due to the least separable margin among the movements possessing weak signal strengths. To meet these challenges, two time-domain features based on nonlinear scaling, the log of the mean absolute value (LMAV) and the nonlinear scaled value (NSV), are proposed. In this study, we validate the proposed features on two datasets, existing four feature extraction methods, variable window size and various signal to noise ratios (SNR). In addition, we also propose a feature extraction method where the LMAV and NSV are grouped with the existing 11 time-domain features. The proposed feature extraction method enhances accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, precision, and F1 score by 1.00%, 5.01%, 0.55%, 4.71%, and 5.06% for dataset 1, and 1.18%, 5.90%, 0.66%, 5.63%, and 6.04% for dataset 2, respectively. Therefore, the experimental results strongly suggest the proposed feature extraction method, for taking a step forward with regard to improved myoelectric pattern recognition performance.

In the current computer vision era classifying scenes through video surveillance systems is a crucial task. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Video Surveillance technologies have been advanced remarkably while artificial intelligence and deep learning ascended into the system. Adopting the superior compounds of deep learning visual classification methods achieved enormous accuracy in classifying visual scenes. However, the visual classifiers face difficulties examining the scenes in dark visible areas, especially during the nighttime. Also, the classifiers face difficulties in identifying the contexts of the scenes. This paper proposed a deep learning model that reconstructs dark visual scenes to clear scenes like daylight, and the method recognizes visual actions for the autonomous vehicle. The proposed model achieved 87.3 percent accuracy for scene reconstruction and 89.2 percent in scene understanding and detection tasks.
