Traditional quantum system control methods often face different constraints, and are easy to cause both leakage and stochastic control errors under the condition of limited resources. Reinforcement learning has been proved as an efficient way to complete the quantum system control task. To learn a satisfactory control strategy under the condition of limited resources, a quantum system control method based on enhanced reinforcement learning (QSC-ERL) is proposed. The states and actions in reinforcement learning are mapped to quantum states and control operations in quantum systems. By using new enhanced neural networks, reinforcement learning can quickly achieve the maximization of long-term cumulative rewards, and a quantum state can be evolved accurately from an initial state to a target state. According to the number of candidate unitary operations, the three-switch control is used for simulation experiments. Compared with other methods, the QSC-ERL achieves close to 1 fidelity learning control of quantum systems, and takes fewer episodes to quantum state evolution under the condition of limited resources.

Finding a minimum is an essential part of mathematical models, and it plays an important role in some optimization problems. Durr and Hoyer proposed a quantum searching algorithm (DHA), with a certain probability of success, to achieve quadratic speed than classical ones. In this paper, we propose an optimized quantum minimum searching algorithm with sure-success probability, which utilizes Grover-Long searching to implement the optimal exact searching, and the dynamic strategy to reduce the iterations of our algorithm. Besides, we optimize the oracle circuit to reduce the number of gates by the simplified rules. The performance evaluation including the theoretical success rate and computational complexity shows that our algorithm has higher accuracy and efficiency than DHA algorithm. Finally, a simulation experiment based on Cirq is performed to verify its feasibility.

Object detection and classification in 3D is a key task in Automated Driving (AD). LiDAR sensors are employed to provide the 3D point cloud reconstruction of the surrounding environment, while the task of 3D object bounding box detection in real time remains a strong algorithmic challenge. In this paper, we build on the success of the one-shot regression meta-architecture in the 2D perspective image space and extend it to generate oriented 3D object bounding boxes from LiDAR point cloud. Our main contribution is in extending the loss function of YOLO v2 to include the yaw angle, the 3D box center in Cartesian coordinates and the height of the box as a direct regression problem. This formulation enables real-time performance, which is essential for automated driving. Our results are showing promising figures on KITTI benchmark, achieving real-time performance (40 fps) on Titan X GPU.

For decades, advances in electronics were directly driven by the scaling of CMOS transistors according to Moore's law. However, both the CMOS scaling and the classical computer architecture are approaching fundamental and practical limits, and new computing architectures based on emerging devices, such as resistive random-access memory (RRAM) devices, are expected to sustain the exponential growth of computing capability. Here we propose a novel memory-centric, reconfigurable, general purpose computing platform that is capable of handling the explosive amount of data in a fast and energy-efficient manner. The proposed computing architecture is based on a uniform, physical, resistive, memory-centric fabric that can be optimally reconfigured and utilized to perform different computing and data storage tasks in a massively parallel approach. The system can be tailored to achieve maximal energy efficiency based on the data flow by dynamically allocating the basic computing fabric for storage, arithmetic, and analog computing including neuromorphic computing tasks.

Recently, with the rapid development of technology, there are a lot of applications require to achieve low-cost learning. However the computational power of classical artificial neural networks, they are not capable to provide low-cost learning. In contrast, quantum neural networks may be representing a good computational alternate to classical neural network approaches, based on the computational power of quantum bit (qubit) over the classical bit. In this paper we present a new computational approach to the quantum perceptron neural network can achieve learning in low-cost computation. The proposed approach has only one neuron can construct self-adaptive activation operators capable to accomplish the learning process in a limited number of iterations and, thereby, reduce the overall computational cost. The proposed approach is capable to construct its own set of activation operators to be applied widely in both quantum and classical applications to overcome the linearity limitation of classical perceptron. The computational power of the proposed approach is illustrated via solving variety of problems where promising and comparable results are given.

In this paper we propose distributed flooding-based storage algorithms for large-scale wireless sensor networks. Assume a wireless sensor network with $n$ nodes that have limited power, memory, and bandwidth. Each node is capable of both sensing and storing data. Such sensor nodes might disappear from the network due to failures or battery depletion. Hence it is desired to design efficient schemes to collect data from these $n$ nodes. We propose two distributed storage algorithms (DSA's) that utilize network flooding to solve this problem. In the first algorithm, DSA-I, we assume that every node utilizes network flooding to disseminate its data throughout the network using a mixing time of approximately O(n). We show that this algorithm is efficient in terms of the encoding and decoding operations. In the second algorithm, DSA-II, we assume that the total number of nodes is not known to every sensor; hence dissemination of the data does not depend on $n$. The encoding operations in this case take $O(Cμ^2)$, where $μ$ is the mean degree of the network graph and $C$ is a system parameter. We evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithms through analysis and simulation, and show that their performance matches the derived theoretical results.
