We introduce DARSAN, a decentralized review system designed for Non-Fungible Token (NFT) marketplaces, to address the challenge of verifying the quality of highly resalable products with few verified buyers by incentivizing unbiased reviews. DARSAN works by iteratively selecting a group of reviewers (called ``experts'') who are likely to both accurately predict the objective popularity and assess some subjective quality of the assets uniquely associated with NFTs. The system consists of a two-phased review process: a ``pre-listing'' phase where only experts can review the product, and a ``pre-sale'' phase where any reviewer on the system can review the product. Upon completion of the sale, DARSAN distributes incentives to the participants and selects the next generation of experts based on the performance of both experts and non-expert reviewers. We evaluate DARSAN through simulation and show that, once bootstrapped with an initial set of appropriately chosen experts, DARSAN favors honest reviewers and improves the quality of the expert pool over time without any external intervention even in the presence of potentially malicious participants.

Efficient networking of many-robot systems is considered one of the grand challenges of robotics. In this article, we address the problem of achieving resilient, dynamic interconnection topologies in multi-robot systems. In scenarios in which the overall network topology is constantly changing, we aim at avoiding the onset of single points of failure, particularly situations in which the failure of a single robot causes the loss of connectivity for the overall network. We propose a method based on the combination of multiple control objectives and we introduce an online distributed optimization strategy that computes the optimal choice of control parameters for each robot. This ensures that the connectivity of the multi-robot system is not only preserved but also made more resilient to failures, as the network topology evolves. We provide simulation results, as well as experiments with real robots to validate theoretical findings and demonstrate the portability to robotic hardware.

Relay nodes-enhanced architectures are deemed a viable solution to enhance coverage and capacity of nowadays cellular networks. Besides a number of desirable features, these architectures reduce the average distance between users and network nodes, thus allowing for battery savings for users transmitting on the uplink. In this paper, we investigate the extent of these savings, by optimizing relay nodes deployment in terms of uplink energy consumption per transmitted bit, while taking into account a minimum uplink average user delay that has to be guaranteed. A novel performance evaluation framework for uplink relay networks is first proposed to study this energy-delay trade-off. A simulated annealing is then run to find an optimized relay placement solution under a delay constraint; exterior penalty functions are used in order to deal with a difficult energy landscape, in particular when the constraint is tight. Finally, results show that relay nodes deployment consistently improve users uplink energy efficiency, under a wide range of traffic conditions and that relays are particularly efficient in non-uniform traffic scenarios.
